Growing up, two brothers, Adam and Paul Kelbie had a competitive streak that ran deep. Wim Hof (born 20 April 1959), also known as The Iceman, is a Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete noted for his ability to withstand freezing temperatures. He has set Guinness World Records for swimming under ice and prolonged full-body contact with ice, and previously held the record for a barefoot half marathon on ice and snow. He attributes these feats to his Wim Hof Method (WHM), a combination of frequent cold exposure, breathing techniques, yoga and meditation. Hof has been the subject of several medical assessments and a book by investigative journalist Scott Carney.

Masculinity in crisis: effeminate men, loss of manhood, and the confusion that society brings. Is masculinity in crisis? One might be inclined to conclude so, based on how numerous indicators of physical, psychological, and social well-being. Do we need more structure and bring back norms and values and honour our masculine and feminine roles?
In the United States, since the 1960s, there has been a increase in the number of children living with a single parent. The jump was caused by an increase in births to unmarried women and by the increasing prevalence of divorces among couples. Why is this and how do single men or women go about dating a single mom or dad.

The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology has presented a new study conducted by psychologist Andrea Meltzer. Meltzer has tracked over 450 newlywed couples during the course of their first four years of marriage and posed the following question: Does a good-looking spouse lead to a more satisfying union? It doesn’t mean you’re any worse or any better than others, but it’s definitely good to notice this and to save your most cognitively-tasking to-dos until the night time, because you’ll be more efficient that way.
There’s been lots of research about how some people are biologically more likely to feel more alert in the morning, while others are at their best at night. You might be more alert and have better cognitive ability in the evening, for instance.
Researcher say over 350 genetic factors that could influence whether people feel more naturally energized either in the morning or in the evening.
So, if you don’t naturally feel alert in the morning but decide to wake up early anyway, you might be sabotaging your actual peak performance times.
“People say: ‘Oh, this CEO is doing his 05:00 regimen, I’m going to hop on and do this on Mondays and Fridays,’”
But what should you really do?
Experts say to experiment. Don’t listen to vocal thought-leaders or LinkedIn influencers – figure out what works best for you. And, hey, maybe that does mean waking up super early after all.
Pay attention to when you feel most tired and most awake. When on holiday, make a note of the times you fall asleep and wake up naturally. Try to sync your schedule to those times, as that’s how you’ll tap into most of your natural energy for the day ahead.
New year’s resolutions have procrastination built into them. After all, setting a January 1st date to implement changes implies that we will only begin to make changes once that date arrives rather than doing it now, and there is no logic in that. We treat the new year as if it holds some magical powers that will facilitate the changes we want to make and, clearly, this is not true. There is nothing special about January 1st other than, perhaps, being the biggest hangover day of the year for most. The euphoria of a new year will wear out fast and most people lose their motivation once this happens. Change starts to happen when people take action, and the best time to take action is now, not on some glorified date on the calendar.

And bad things go viral, so everyone fears any misstep that could cause America’s pearl-clutchers to point and scream at you like the invasion of the body snatchers. Think of all the people who have lost job offers due to [an unflattering] picture of them.

How it happened?
All over me getting a damn coffee for the team in Starbucks Barcelona …. I literally look away for one second and my backpack is gone from the chair. Nobody saw anything. Still can’t believe it happened. But hey, it’s just possessions, right?
As sad as this is it really challenges my emotions while I feel anger and shock. Like at least I wish I saw the coward and could catch the thief. How could somebody do this and why did I not see this? I’m always on the look out for danger and I’ve never been robbed from my personal belongings like this before. I worked hard to afford this stuff and had them with me for the shoot today.
I remember life happens for me, not to me. When Bob Marley was asked ‘are you a rich man, do you have a lot of possessions?’ He replied:
“I don’t have that kind of richness in life, my richness is life.”
And it’s really so true…it hit me… the experience of traveling is ultimately what matters, not a damn Louis vuitton bag or Audemars Piguet and Breitling watch. I hope the thief enjoys his/her catch of the day.
After this day, I saw this event with an outside eye, from another perspective. I realized how things are so easy to lose. It’s crazy when you think that everything you own can disappear in a second. I thought more about it and I realized how it’s the same thing with people you love. Like my best friend who passed away.
You can lose anything anytime. Finally, it was so clear in my mind. Life’s all about enjoying and appreciating every single moment that comes your way. Just live in the now and enjoy everything while you can. That way, you will never be sad or mad if you lose it someday. I lost 60K and a passport this day, but I still have my coffee moment in Barcelona. Nobody takes that away from me.
