A man named Epaphroditus been sent from the church of Philippi and Paul writes to the church of Philippi and sends the letter with Epaphroditus.
Paul has been informed that there were some disagreements that led to arguments taking place in the church.
In chapter 2 Paul speaks to the matter and warns, that if these conflicts continue and become the focal point of the church congregation, the church will trade a blessed life with Jesus for strife, bitterness and anger.

As a society and world we are moving at such a fast pace, culture is changing so rapidly, the work load is increasing, companies have figured out how to cater to work from home so now if you’re sick or something comes up you can still work rather than rest, the demands put on our children has increased exponentially and with technological advancements we are connected 24/7 the text messages and emails continue to pour in and if a meeting doesn’t fit into the regular 9-5 with things like facetime, Microsoft teams or google meeting we can fill after hours with more work or extra meetings that didn’t fit in to an earlier time slot.

What is Stewardship? Well, biblical stewardship recognizes everything God has entrusted to us is His and He wants whatever He has entrusted to us to multiply and serve His purposes.
We are familiar with stewarding failure, or stewarding loss. When someone goes through a difficult situation where things didn’t work out the way that they intended or they go through the loss of a job- we as Christians know how to surround them and weep with them, mourn with them, comfort and console them.
But when it comes to people of success, when they begin to discuss their challenges or difficulties, we typically respond with a harsh word – “must be nice.” Or “I wish I had your problems.”

We have been teaching about God’s vision for our lives, Vision is the bridge between where you are and where God wants you to be. God has plans for your life. There are signs around us that Love has grown cold in our culture. Love has grown cold when mainstream society has so rejected the thought of standing up for the most innocent among us that they will come against movies that seek to raise awareness about child trafficking. If you kill a sea turtle egg you can face prison time but if you end the life of a child you are celebrated.
Little by little as we allow these feelings to settle in our hearts- we as the church and as Christ followers – let our love grow cold. Because after all, it’s hard to love when we are filled with hate.

As we close out our series on vision, this isn’t going to be a normal sermon, this is more of an update on some of what God has been doing. We will discuss a little more God’s vision for Crossroads Community church
Vision is seeing something before it happens, vision in the context of church and being a Christ follower is seeing the way that God see’s. And God has big vision, He had big vision when He calls a shepherd boy to be a giant slayer and king. God had a big vision when His vision entailed turning a symbol of death (the cross)- turned into a symbol of hope and victory through faith in His son Jesus Christ. Before Jesus the cross represented nothing more than shame and death, now it represents hope, salvation and the penalty paid for my eternity.
As we discussed previously, God is still a God of vision and we believe that He is calling His church to be visionaries.

This series is all about vision, where God is leading us as a church with the understanding that God has a plan, God has a vision and He want’s us to be a part of what He’s doing and God’s vision is so powerful that He says “I will build my church and Hell cannot even stop it.”
Evangelism- an introvert’s kryptonite, but it doesn’t have to be! Too often we pawn this off as to not feeling called. Jesus commanded all of His disciples to go into all the world. The difficult reality is that the mission field can be found right in our own neighborhood or workplace. Listen as we hear some truths about ourselves and how to minister to those around us.
Mentorship is often an overlooked aspect in the church. Are we helping to raise individuals up as we ourselves continue to grow in our walk with the Lord? For every great man, there has often been a man or men that has helped build them up or influenced them in some capacity. Jesus led the disciples and grew them tremendously to be powerful men of God. Are we following His example and doing the same for those around us or the younger generation?
Are you willing to follow His plan for your life? In order to hear from Him, we must seek Him with all of our heart. Let’s put the societal norms to the side. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!
Preparation and having a plan are typically beneficial in most areas of your life. Finances are no exception to this. Our mindset must become one of stewardship- how can we best utilize what God has given us? Cody walks through how everything from budgeting to planning for financial hardship.
The tongue hold far more power than we naturally think. Listen as we learn what it takes to best control it. It’s far more than mind over matter- it’s a heart issue! We must first seek the Lord on the root cause of our anger and choice of words and tone.
Lust and temptation- an issue that every man has faced from adolescence through adulthood. Again, trying to overcome temptation in our own strength will result in failure. The devil is crafty and an expert in causing us to fall and sin. We must be fully surrendered to the Lord in both our lives and our weaknesses!
This is the start of our very first men’s conference here at C3! Before moving on to listening to the everyday topics that impact us as men, we must realize our desperation and reliance on the Lord. Prayer and worship are such a vital part of our walk with the Lord. Our conflicts seen through fleshly eyes here on earth are often time manifestations of spiritual battles being fought in the spiritual realm. It’s crucial that we seek help from the mountain mover rather than focus on the mountain, or try to move the mountain ourselves.
Pride is something that everyone struggles with in one way, shape, or form. It is not until we recognize who we are without the Lord, what He saved us from, and the everyday role He plays in our lives so that we can then walk in freedom and grow in so many different aspects.
Marriage is one of the biggest commitments we make in life. How can we best foster the relationship that God has given us? Affixing our eyes on Jesus and prioritizing who and what is most important in any relationship is key to a successful and fruitful unity.

Over the past few weeks we, as a church, have been in this series titled “The Songs of Christmas”. Throughout this series we have made it a point to dive into the history of various Christmas songs and we have made it an even bigger point to talk about their Biblical meaning.
A common theme within Christmas Carols is the theme of “wonder”. This theme of wonder is either referenced specifically or insinuated as Christmas carols proclaim the message of Christ’s arrival. For example…
Joy to the world has that beautiful line - “Wonders of His love.”

The song that we are focusing on today- Joy to the world. Is somewhat similar to the theme of silent night. It’s one of those Christmas songs that has kind of an ironic theme to it.
Joy to the world wasn’t originally intended to become a Christmas song, Consider that As one of the most joyous of all Christmas hymns, this carol omits references to shepherds, angelic choruses, and wise men. That’s because it was originally intended to describe the second coming of Jesus Christ.
The hymn has more to do with Christ’s second coming than His first, though because the two comings of Christ are historically and theologically connected, the sentiments expressed can apply to both events. The one that has already taken place sets the stage for the other that is yet to happen, an event which true believers eagerly await.

This song has many themes included in it that we could study today. We could study the fact that this song points out the divinity of Jesus beautifully, or how the song proclaims the Gospel message of Jesus coming to save us. Over the past 10-20 years church as a whole has become very quite when it comes to topics such as the Holy Spirit or the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Served with their families in a ministry, 3.had one spiritual experience in the home during the week. 4. Entrusted with responsibility in ministry at a young age and 5. Had at least one faith focused adult in their lives other than their parents.

There is an unbiblical idea in the church that if someone struggles emotionally with something that they are less spiritual then others or that struggling with things like anxiety is sinful.
Anxiety is not a sin although it can become one.

He then served as Lead Pastor at Macomb Assembly in Illinois from October of 2017-2021. His wife, Andrea, serves along side of him, and he has 2 daughters, Abigail and Megan. They love spending time together traveling as well as in the outdoors, shopping or having a meal out. They’re passionate about loving their community and serving people. Jesus describes himself as the “I am” in John 8:58 which is a direct reference to God in the OT Exodus 3:14. Jesus was describing Himself as the eternal God.

Satan is a created being originally created by God as an Angel. Ezekiel 28
Describes how beautiful Satan was, God created him to be perfect in wisdom and beauty, a spectacle of flawlessness and gave him special capabilities in music and voice. He was an angel of high position and satan- called lucifer at the time, had favor with God.
But then things went wrong. Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14teach us that Satan started to think too highly of himself because …of all his gifts, he started to crave the honor that was bestowed on God for himself. We call this pride.

Daniel is a man committed to God in life, conduct and prayer. He was such a faithful man that other people in governing authority had to make a law against Daniel in the area of prayer, because they knew Daniel was so faithful that he’d never stop praying.

Understand that righteous rebellion is when the kingdom of earth is trying to take place of the kingdom of heaven and you choose to submit to the kingdom of heaven.

They refuse. They are called in for question, have you ever been asked a blunt question and you start to understand the reality of the situation and that the question carries consequences with it but you are forced to remain true in your answer? This is that moment.
We are not talking about political principles, we are talking about Biblical principles.
What makes rebellion righteous?

There are times throughout history where Christians are labeled as enemies of the state, they are seen as rebels, and they are told to bow down to worldly standards and give up their biblical standards, to stop preaching the name of Jesus, to turn away from the gospel message of repentance and putting ones faith in Jesus.
It is in these moments where it is the duty of every Christ-follower to rebel against such demands and take a stand in righteousness.
But often there is a counter argument that says no, Christians are obedient in all things to all things. And more often than not the first scripture to be quoted is Romans 13.
Men are Men, women are women. Both equally valuable. Both equally important. But we are not the same.
Men and women are created differently than one another and out of their uniqueness they compliment one another because they can accomplish things that the other gender cannot.
The gender that God has given you is the perfect one for you.
Genders are not the same, they are beautifully different and unique.
God’s plan for your life includes the biological gender that He’s given you.

Gives us direction for the future. We are able to recognize mistakes made in the past so that don’t repeat them and therefor we change directions in our lives as we remember past mistakes.
Remembering Gives us discernment because we are able to see details of the past that those who were going through a trial or circumstance did not see—because Afterall they were experiencing it. No time to evaluate when you are going through something.
Remember Allows us to have compassion. When we recognize our past mistakes, we tend to give grace and compassion as we recognize that those we often complain about--- at one time or another, we were just like them.
