We brought Aaron Goldberg, author of "Buying Disney's World" on today's show, to take us down the path that Walt has set in motion decades ago. From gathering his team to setting his sights on the perfect area in Florida for his new park, Aaron paints a wonderfully engaging landscape, detailing just what it took to bring a Disney park to Florida. Plus, Jason gets way too happy reporting on the petty fight between Bob and Bob.

While Disneyland and Walt Disney World seem to have mostly the same experiences and rides as each other, only one attraction stands out as possibly being too insane to have existed in the first place, much less in a Disney Park. The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter was ... something else. Relying on sound design and physical effects rather than animatronics, this Child of the Eisner Era lasted far longer than it had any right to. The concept and execution were so non-Disney it's surprising it was ever assembled in the first place. A truly immersive ride that was also scary? Sign us up!

If you were walking around Tomorrowland in the early 1980's, chances are you have heard Josh Freese. Josh was in a teen band called "Polo" that frequented the Tomorrowland Terrace in those days. Son of the great Disneyland Band Leader Stan Freese, Josh left the adoring throngs of park goers behind to become a successful musician, playing in bands that run the gamut of musical genres - The Vandals, A Perfect Circle, Devo, and countless others. Growing up - literally - in Disneyland, Josh has about as many stories to tell about the early days of the parks has he has credits on albums. Josh was kind enough to sit down with us and talk about how he got his first job working at Disneyland, and how the parks have played a role in his life still. Plus, a bunch of funny stories unrelated to Disneyland at all because, well, Josh is a hell of a storyteller! Chances are, you've never heard a Haunted Mansion story like this one - we hadn't! In the 12 years that the greatest ride in Disneyland spent gestating, there were many changes made. Not only to the storyline, but the effects, the ride - pretty much everything was different by the time the doors opened in 1969 from Ken Anderson's initial meeting with Walt back in 1957. Why is this? Well, we dive into an alternate conveyance that we hadn't heard about, and how different that would have made The Haunted Mansion, but also how the Omnimover system (you know, the Ghost Mobiles) forced many of the effects to be reworked. Most of the rides at Disney Parks have tracks - steel tubes or rails that our ride cars glide (or bump) over. Some of the world-wide parks actually have some pretty amazing ride systems that do NOT have tracks. This innovation in other parks eventually led us to Rise of the Resistance, so we suppose it's ok that we had to wait for so long to get a truly cool trackless ride. Sorry Luigi.

Turns out, a lot has happened since 1955 when the original hotel opened, like DCA for example! Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is officially open! Since some of us (Jason and Taren) were lucky enough to grab a reservation to explore the new outpost on Batuu last weekend, we decided to record a very short show for those of you who may be lucky enough to grab your own reservation. It's not a full recap or review - that will be coming on our next regular show - but we hoped that because we were able to be there on opening day, our experiences could help others who might be as blown away and lost in Black Spire Outpost as we were. It really is an immersive experience, and we just started to get our footing about two hours into our time there. Today's show is a departure of sorts for what we normally talk about on EarzUp, but it is interesting nonetheless. A few shows back we read an article from past guest David Koenig on a social club that was being sued, along with the Disney company, for allegations of extortion and threatening behavior. We all thought it was an interesting story and one that we should try to explore a bit further. David's article, while well-written, was understandably one-sided since the only information he had to go on was the court documents filed by the plaintiff. Being the intrepid pseudo-journalists we are, Terrence reached out to Jake Fite, one of the many defendants in the court case, to see if he would come on and give his side of the story. It's a complex one with many layers, and might not be suitable (or interesting, as it's rather long and detailed and has nothing to do with Disneyland history) for those younger kids in the audience. Well, we did it - 100 episodes of EarzUp! Podcast ... 4 years of our little show and countless new friends later, and we found ourselves on the balcony of Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney, literally flanked by listeners and fellow Disney Nerds. And 1/4 of Terrence's family.

This was an incredible show to be a part of, and we cannot thank our listeners and fans enough for not only allowing us to get this far, but for coming out and hanging with us. Jason waxed poetic about it over on this blog post, so if you want more of that, he's your man.

While the odds are very, very low, it's possible that something bad will happen at a Disney Park near you - maybe even while you are visiting. Our friend Miles was at Walt Disney World during Hurricane Irma, so today we are talking to him to find out ... How Disney Prepares for Disasters But first ...

The show got off to an odd start, as our cats decided to have a full-on fight in the other room. We cut most of the pause out of the actual show, but the long version is on the video below if you want to watch an empty studio for some reason. If you listen closely you can hear both cat howls!

Then we get Miles on the line. Miles, you might remember, was on our Modeling Disney show awhile back, and just happened to be in Walt Disney World when Hurricane Irma hit. We followed his progress at the resort via his Facebook updates, and after he made it back safely, we wanted to know just how Disney prepared for something like a Cat 5 hurricane.

Afterwards, Terrence puts together a little information on how Disneyland would handle an emergency. Obviously we don't get hurricanes out here, but we do have earthquakes!

We start with a note from Jason explaining the segment of bad audio we had in today's show, which starts at around the 19 minute mark and goes for about 15 minutes. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. Sorry.

Both Bev and Taren are out sick, so it's just Jason and Terrence running the show. We bring on Jeremy from SpectroRadio on early and ask him to sit in on our Feedback segment, which he does. Then we run right into SpectroTime as Jeremy teaches us about the history of the music of the song everybody loves to hate on ... "It's a Small World".

When we talk about going to the Parks, it's usually during the day. After all , that's when we have the most hours to enjoy our favorite places. But what about when it's nighttime in Disneyland? The Disney Classics are ... classics, and with good reason: they had superbly talented people undertaking huge and complicated projects for years on end, culminating in stories and films that are still relevant today. On this show, we talk to the filmmakers of a documentary about one such man who was at the forefront of these classic films ... Floyd Norman: An Animated Life But first ...

Nothing - we get right to it with filmmakers Michael Fiore and Erik Sharkey talking about their new film, "Floyd Norman: An Animated Life. We loved this film, and both Michael and Erik did a great job getting some great stories out of Floyd in the movie - which didn't seem to involve too much coaxing. Floyd is a very interesting guy with a massive amount of work to his credit, much of it on animated classics that helped to shape the field.

To coincide with the movie release on Blu-Ray, Michael and Erik are having a contest called, "Floydering with Floyd", and all you have to do is the following:

Buy a copy of the Blu-Ray
Snap a photo of you with the film
Post it on social media with the hashtag "#Floydering"

This time of year is always busy enough with normal life. Add into that a recording schedule and egg nog drinking and things can get a bit muddy. So today we post a quick update show to let you know that we will not be having another show release in 2016. NO TEARS! We just couldn't find the time to all get together and record a show, but we did manage to carve out 20 min last night and record a little something so you don't think we forgot about you!

We talk about Jason's new passion for Costco Egg Nog, about how half of us will be participating in the Disney 5k in September, we do a short online quiz about Walt Disney, and drop some info on our upcoming Patreon page. A lot of attention is given to how well Disneyland keeps up with its looks - the exterior of show buildings, the cleanliness of the streets, but we don't really think too much about what it takes to maintain the actual show figures in the rides. Today we talk to Matt Staley, who is a Figure Finisher in Disneyland, about what goes in to figure maintenance and ... How to be a Disney Figure Finisher But first ...

Every so often we like to take the helm of Disneyland and imagine how we can make the parks better. At least, to us. To that end, its time for ... EarzUp! Imagineering ... Again! But first ...

Our resident Marvel expert, Anthony (AKA Kanye), joins us to talk about Marvel's new flick, "Civil War", and what that means within the Marvel Universe. But since he's family we lt him sit in on the whole show, which starts with some cool feedback, and a long trail of weirdness ensues like it always does.

Then we jump right into the EarzUp Imagineering show, trying to see who has the best ideas for breathing some new life into the Anaheim resort that doesn't have "Frozen" in the title. Autopia, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, Matterhorn, Skyway Buckets, Shooting Gallery, sailing ship columbia, and more - are all on the chopping block for us. Disney is a place that is always changing. Posters get replaced, ride cars get re-designed, costumes get updated. But the old stuff has to go someplace, right? We get to learn where and how these relics of Disney's past get into the hands of regular people like us, for today, we talk all about ... Disney Auctions at the Van Eaton Gallery But first ...

Bev thinks Disney has too much money because she has seen people throw paper money into the water.

We get this show moving pretty quickly and shift our normal business to the end of the show, because we want to get to Mike Van Eaton, who runs Van Eaton galleries. Mike puts on what is considered the best Disney auction, and he has items in his collection that will blow you away.

Chatting with Mike about some of these pieces was really fun, because you can hear his passion for the parks and the history these pieces represent. We also get into what we should be looking for in today's Disney collectible market and what will increase in value.

After Mike, we head back to the beginning of the show and do some feedback. Jason responds to a previous listener Cliff who commented on our last show about how Jason and Taren bashed Walt Disney World (which wasn't the case but whatever).

Taren's Thinks for this show is pretty good if you are in to diet gum. Oddly enough, Terrence agrees with her.

Then it's time to get our guest on the phone, Miles. He does 3-D computer modeling as a hobby, and has been working on a 3-D model of Disneyland just for fun. He started putting his work on Facebook to not only spread his love of modeling Disney, but also to get some crowd-sourced images to help with his project. Somehow, someone from Disney found him and asked for his help with the 60th anniversary overlay! It’s a really cool story, and Miles takes us through how this whole thing happened and tells us some cool details about his two nights working at the top of the Disneyland castle!

This lady did a lot in the Disney universe, and Bev does a great job at bringing Harriet’s accomplishments to life.

Disneyland is known for many things, mainly it's cleanliness. Today we had the opportunity to speak with two former Disneyland Custodial cast members about their new book ... Cleaning the Kingdom But first ...

Jason has yet another rough intro, but we are sure you are used to it by now. Maybe.

After some technical issues which Jason finally overcomes, we get our guests on the show - Lynn and Ken who authored a book called "Cleaning the Kingdom". It's a really interesting look behind-the-scenes at what it takes to keep our favorite place sparkling.

We talk about restroom theming, finding trash in odd places, building the custodial department, favorite places to work in the park, and even some gross stories - tons of great info, and we can't recommend their book enough!

Then our friends Matt and Leanne unexpectedly stopped by the studio to talk a bit about their recent trip to Disneyland.

We read some feedback about our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World, which was a great recommendation to a restaurant that ... is already booked. Oh well.

Disneyland has so many great rides, that it's hard to pick a favorite. But if you twist our arms enough, chances are Pirates comes up at least once. Therefore, we have decided to start running through the history of some of the classic Disneyland rides with ... The History of Pirates of the Caribbean But first ...

We start the show talking about a new segment we are going to start, which is a quick rundown of the dedicated windows on Main Street. It would have been a fun segment had we gotten to it. This is a long show, folks!

We read some feedback from Clayton about last shows "Taren's Thinks" segment about how swimming in a carbonated pool just wouldn't work, and then Jason has a brief discussion on another podcast using a variation of our classic Disneyland marquee logo as their own. It's a bit boring, but worth it for us to at least address, just so there is no confusion about our logo vs. theirs.

Then we start of the show talking with Howard from the Bay Lake Society to talk about drinking in Walt Disney World, who was amazing, and gave us some really great places to have a nice drink and soak up the WDW atmosphere.

Jason tries to work the audio, but the computers rose against him and failed, but he overcame and we got to hear the brand new intro to our new favorite segment ... "Taren's Thinks". It's nothing short of amazing.

Terrence jumps us into the 1960's with his history of Pirates of the Caribbean, one of our favorite rides in the park, hands down. It has such a rich history that we could not help but cover it.

Walt had many dreams, that's for sure, but none manifested themselves quite like a small planned community out in Florida. While the end result had little to do with Walt's actual vision, he's still considered the man behind ... Disney's Celebration Florida But first ...

Terrence fills us in on his alter ego, and we have our very first look into Taren's brain in our segment called "Taren's Thinks". Where can it go from here?

We talk to our Canadian friend Blobber about our confusion in planning our Walt Disney World vacation, and all the strangeness about planning out each day 180 days in advance. Blobber has been to WDW before, and Jason and Taren have not, so he does his best to set our minds at ease.

Then we jump into Disney's Celebration Florida, and the strangeness that is a Disney-esque planned community. Celebration Florida is still around, although not in the same capacity as it once was, or even was planned to be. Confused? Terrence explains it far better than I.

Not everything on Walt's drawing board made it to Disneyland. Today, Jason takes us through one of these lands in ... The History of Liberty Street But first ...

We start the show with a lovely clip from Shaun and Ryan, two listeners who love the show so much that they recorded a little audio clip for us to play. Awesome!

Bev joins us inside the studio and out of her call booth glass case of emotion, which was probably really great for her. We start off with our first Disney Animation Movie Recap - Snow White!

We get into some feedback, letting us know that "Crescent City" is NOT a small boarder town, but a nickname for New Orleans. Now we know.

Taren and Jason talk about their latest trip to the parks and how great all of the plussings look for the 60th anniversary. We got to see some of the new ride stuff, including the new animated door for Indiana Jones, which is great, but the best thing we saw was the new Matterhorn Yeti. The Imagineers have made this ride relevant again for me. Just an amazing job, and we highly suggest waiting in this long line for a chance to ride the Matterhorn - 100% worth it!.

We also saw the Hat Box Ghost, and while we just plain forgot to talk about him. The first time we saw him, he wasn't working. Now, we found out a few things: that part of the action that makes the head vanish is that the entire thing drops into his chest cavity, leaving the second one free to appear within the actual hat box. Savvy riders have figured this trick out and have actually been tossing water bottles and other trash into the cavity, blocking the head from popping back up. This results in a broken and static Hat Box Ghost. So we forgot to talk about him on the show, but there you go - all the HBG info you could ever want!

Jason then gets into the history of Liberty Street. Many people aren't familiar with the concept of Liberty Street, and if they are, they are usually thinking of the one located in Walt Disney World. In fact, Liberty Street was originally planned for Disneyland, and Jason has the history of the concept - it's short but pretty interesting! We also found a cool clip of Walt talking about his concept for Liberty Street - check it out, it's really cool:

Disneyland has a lot to love, but we love no other land the way we love New Orleans Square. Despite having a small amount of attractions, this section of the park continues to be amazing. Taren does some research into the fascinating ... History of New Orleans Square But first ...

Another odd intro by Jason. One day he'll figure out this whole "show intro" thing, but we won't hold our breath. This show is pretty long one, despite not having Bev in studio with us. Which also means we have no video for this show again, since Bev is our super-smart video person.

For feedback,we heard from Angie, who is looking for some advice on what to do with her 13 year old niece, who hasn't been to Disneyland in about 11 years. Despite nobody on the show having children 13 years old, we do our best to give Angie the best things to do. (Hint: do it all!)

After feedback, we jump on a call with Dan over at MouseBrew, because we wanted to get his experiences at the latest 24-hour day at Disneyland, since none of us were brave enough to wade through the expected crowds.

Taren gets into the nitty gritty of the history of New Orleans Square, which is pretty fascinating, despite it's small size and large population of shops. She runs through which attractions were up and running when New Orleans Square was first open, and what has changed since that day. Jason jumps in for a bit to talk about the return of the famous Hat Box Ghost - including revealing his real name!

We had a pretty big Disney News segment for this show. Even though we had run about an hour with just normal show content, there was some great news that we could just not leave alone.

With so many new movies coming out under the Disney umbrella of companies within the next couple of years, we needed some sort of guiding light. Terrence jumps in to give us our very own ... EarzUp Movie Rundown But first ...

Taren inadvertently creates a new segment we are going to call "Tarens Thinks". Mainly because she is very curious and likes to wonder things aloud. To our benefit.

We then jump right in with Terrence and his EarzUp Movie Rundown! We go over the plot lines for many of the films being released through 2016, like AntMan, Inside Out, and more. Of course, we have no idea when it comes to the "second-tier" Marvel heroes, so Jason called his nephew Anthony (who, among other things, is into Cosplay) and he gives us a very brief intro class into the point of releasing AntMan as a full-length film.

We still don't get it.

They say you should get a job doing something you love, that way it will never truly feel like work. Well, where else can that be but in Disneyland? If you have ever wondered what it takes to be on stage in a Disney Park, then you'll want to pay close attention as we learn ... How to be a Disney Performer But first ...

Jason starts the show by expressing his love of Stitcher Radio and it's free podcasts (of which EarzUp is one of), including his new favorite, Welcome to Night Vale. If you are into sci-fi/comedy/bizarre things, then you'll dig Night Vale.

Greg the Donator took advantage of our new policy that allows reoccurring donors to give us things to say on the air by penning a "poem" for Terrence and Jason to read. He did have directions for the boys to do numerous interpretive dances, but Terrence's leotards were at the cleaners, so we opted out of that portion.

Taren and Jason announced their new venture, Covears! They are cute little covers for your Mickey Mouse ears that allow you to dress up your hat while in the parks. They slip on and off with ease and will not damage your hat in any way. A cool way to add some personality to your favorite ear hat.

Finally, we get our guest on the line. Steve has been performing at Disneyland for a number of years, and had some really great tips on how to land a job entertaining guests for a living. He does live performances and song-and-dance numbers, and does a great job diving into detail about what it means to work at a place like Disneyland. It was a great interview, and Steve did a wonderful job making Terrence cry as well as letting us know how to be a Disney performer.

Before we exit the show, Taren and Terrence hash out their thoughts on the movie Frozen. "The Frozen Throwdown" came about from Taren hating Frozen, and Terrence challenging that thought. They got together and hashed out their thoughts in the only way they know how ... on the air.

Disney California Adventure is one of the more polarizing topics for Disney geeks. Some hate it, some love it, and other still really don't care either way. Terrence digs in and gives us ... The History of Disney California Adventure Angry Bekah is in the studio again to make sure that Terrence doesn't mess anything up. She tries to fight her nickname of "angry", but then caves to peer pressure and finally accepts who she is.

Dan (AKA Mousebrew) is back to talk about some new drinks over in DCA that have been added due to the Frozen overlays peppered throughout the park. The overall consensus is: stick to beer.

Then we jump into some feedback from Larry, and segue into Terrence and his History of Disney California Adventure show! Terrence covers a lot of things here - how the park looked when it opened, what has changed since that fateful opening day, and how it looks now. It's a pretty good example of how over-thinking a theme park can really be a bad thing sometimes. Considering how many restaurants there were on opening day ...

Our friend and audio master Charlie (AKA PushEject - who makes really awesome videos with his kids, BTW) was up from LA, and chimed in, too. We never really introduced him in this show, so when you hear an mystery voice ... that's our pal Push!

Then we close the show with more odd stories of Terrence's eating habits in the parks and how he chased a young lady down for a bit of her turkey leg, and we get to the Fact of the Show.

An Interview With DisneyChris.com The show starts with a discussion about loveliness and who has more of it. Taren or Terrence. Which is very, very important stuff. Taren and Jason recap their recent trip to Disneyland to check out some of the new Frozen attractions in DCFrozen, and we read (and react) to some feedback about our show only being worthy of two stars on our iTunes page because we were not Disney historians. Something we never have claimed in the first place, but ... we are still glad that person wrote in.

DisneyChris joined the conversation then, and our interview began. In case you are unaware, Chris runs DisneyChris.com, and audio site dedicated to the sounds of Disneyland's past. Seriously, the guy has loads and loads of classic audio that most Disneyland fans have never heard, including some pieces of Walt Disney's TV shows that were shot during the construction of Disneyland. It's amazing stuff, and we highly recommend playing around on his site. You can also follow him on Twitter, where he posts lots of clips and old, color-corrected photos of Disneyland.

Chris talks to us about his love of Disneyland, how he gets his audio, and some of the steps he does to restore and clean the pieces up. It's all very time-consuming.

Adventureland remains one of the least refurbished lands in Disneyland today, but still has quite a bit of history to uncover. Join us as Terrence runs us through the ... We all have things we want to do before we die, but not all of them are related to Disneyland. In this episode, we change all of that, and get into the mouse-filled specifics of our ... Disney Bucket List! This show was a lot of fun for us, personally. We are pretty certain that most Disneyland fans dream of being an Imagineer, getting to help create magic that will be enjoyed by millions of people. The Earzup! crew are no different, as we sit down and jump into ... EarzUp! Imagineering The show starts off with Jason complaining that nobody on Twitter cared much about his scoop that the Muppets 3-D show is being torn down in favor of a Frozen sing-along, which is his favorite thing over in DCA. All in all, we came up with some pretty good ideas for Imagineering. Probably none that are actionable, but still - the exercise was fun, and we challenge you to do something similar. What would you do to Disneyland or DCA if you had the ability?

The magic at Disneyland is everywhere - including the plant-life! Today, we run you through another tour at the park ... it's the - Cultivating The Magic Tour Review But first, we have some special feedback on this show. After our spotlight on Club 33 a few shows back, a few listeners wrote in to clarify a few things that we were incorrect about, such as membership requirements and guest limits. In the interest of passing along correct information, we run through the feedback for you.

Then it's tour time! Taren and Jason took the Cultivating the Magic tour, and give you the info you need to decide for yourself if it's worth the $49 price tag. We did learn some pretty neat things about the park plant life, like there are over 800 different species of plants in Disneyland, and the flowers on Main Street get replaced about every 6 weeks.

We got to walk on to The Jungle Cruise, where we learned about Bill Evans, who was the horticulturist for Walt and for the park. Bill designed the plants within The Jungle Cruise to represent the various jungles that helped to inspire the ride. At one point, he took some orange trees that were still on the land and turned them upside-down so that their large root systems were sticking out of the water to look like old jungle vines. There is only one of these trees left in the ride, and here it is:

Since this was our first show broadcast LIVE over on our brand new Livestream page, we were able to do a live game of Disneyland Trivia that Jason cooked up. If you go to Disneyland often enough, the day eventually arrives where a friend or relative says "We are going to Disneyland for one day - what should we do?" - what would you tell them?

We have thought long and hard about this question, and have come up with the Official EarzUp! Top Ten list! Not only do we each list out our own recommendations on what to do in both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure, but we collect them into one overall, must-do, Magic Kingdom list!

Fantasyland is a sort of love/hate thing for many people. It contains some of the most wonderful rides, and yet it is so packed all of the time. Taren digs deep into this polarizing section of Disneyland, and brings us ... The History of Fantasyland In the land of princes and princesses, flying elephants and boat-guzzling whales, of mad tea parties and endless songs, we leave the familiar world that we know and understand and move into the wondrous mind of Walt Disney.

Many have said that Fantasyland was Walt's favorite land. In his initial concept for Disneyland, Fantasyland was at the center of everything. As is generally the case, Walt's attention to detail is part of what makes this land so special--from the fact that each horse on the King Arthur's Carousel is jumping (Walt didn't want stationary horses) to making sure that the Casey Jr. Train looked identical to the one in Dumbo (even when this caused extensive logistical problems), to plating the spires of the castle with 22 karat gold (much to Roy Disney's chagrin).

The Fantasyland of 1955 was very different than what we see today--although, most would argue that what we see today is much closer to Walt's original vision. It didn't always have the beautiful European "Storybook" facades that we know and love, these only came after a major renovation in 1983, when the "New Fantasyland" opened, which also brought us a better layout of the land, new rides, new restaurants and important upgrades to the existing rides.

Taren jumps into the fascinating - and expensive - world of the most famous restaurant at Disneyland ... Disneyland's Club 33 We can honestly say that there are no other things within Disneyland that are surrounded with an air of mystery than the famous Club 33. Originally planned as a place for Walt to wine-and-dine the park's many investors, it remains a space that many current park guests are unaware of.

Taren and Terrence dive into the history of Club 33 - how it got that name, what kind of menu items you could find both before and after the renovation (like the famous Chateaubriand), the dress code, and what the place looks like now. Over the years, much has been said of Walt and his drive to get Disneyland ready for opening day, but we don't hear enough of the men behind that drive. Perhaps the most important company to Disneyland's success was ... Arrow Development Today's show is one of our favorites to date! We interview Dexter Francis, author of "Building Disney's Dream", and it's full of not only Disney history, but amusement park history as well.

Dexter gets into the details of a company called Arrow Development, who was responsible for the designing and building of five original Disneyland rides. Over the 20 years or so after the park opened, Arrow Development had a hand in something like 15 different Disney rides, much of their work warranted patents, and literally re-defined the roller coaster, and Disneyland, as we know it.

Dexter is full of great information on not only Arrow as a business but how Walt Disney and Arrow worked together to get the park open on time. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We're back! After over a month of being off the air due to our studio moving, the EarzUp! crew climb back onto the microphones for another show, and what a relief it was.

The show started off with a recap of all the blog posts and happenings going on over on our site while we've been away, like our recap of Disneyland Paris and exclusive photos of the then-secretive Club 33 revamp. After feedback, we break into the meat of the show: The Disneyland Yippie Riots of 1970. If you haven't heard of the Yippie Riots, it's a fairly fascinating event in Disneyland history, and one that nobody at the parks likes talking about. Essentially, 300 (or less) kids caused the park to shut down about 5 hours early, for only the second time in park history.

Disney News was up next, where we talk about some new Disney animation projects, some cool Disney Infinity announcements, Marvel's adjustments to their Thor character, and Taren and Jason's experience seeing the new-ish Disney film Maleficent. Is Disneyland really the place of creativity and imagination we all think it is? Join us as we talk about ... Disneyland Ride Movies Since the park opened, Disneyland has been a great example of creativity in theme parks. The depth and variety of the rides and attractions changed the way theme parks were built and what crowds were expecting when spending their day there.

Have things changed? Has the Disney brand lost their imagination? It seems that every new movie or ride to come out at the parks or in the theaters has been based on a pre-existing park ride or an older Disney movie. What does soda have to do with Walt Disney and the house he was born in? We are glad you asked! Take a moment and learn all about Elias (Walt's Dad) and ... O-Zell Soda and Walt's Birthplace We got the opportunity to sit down with Dina and Brent from O-Zell soda and Walt's birthplace to talk about their love of Disney and their ongoing project to restore the house that Elias Disney built in Chicago in 1893, and where Walt Disney himself was born in. Dina and Brent purchased the home in 2013, and are using the profits from the sales of O-Zell soda to help heal this historic home.

The story of Elias and the O-Zell soda company is a great read, one that could easily be made into a Disney movie, as it has a great story arc moving from Elias being broke due to the owner of O-Zell embezzling his money, to his son Walt becoming a larger-than-life entertainment figure.

Of all the tours that Disneyland has to offer, we were the most excited about being able to give you the Walk In Walt's Disneyland Footsteps tour review, because the tour ends on the highest of high notes: a tour through Walt's apartment, located above the firehouse on Main Street. Cast members can't even get in here, that's how exclusive it is.

The closest Disneyland Gumbo Recipe you will ever find! Disneyland is known for many things, but not too many that are culinary-related, save for heartburn, maybe. According to the experts at EarzUp! podcast, the gumbo at Disneyland is quite possibly the best food offering you can find there. No, Churros don't count.

In case you haven't had it, Gumbo is a thicker version of a stew, with loads of vegetables and garlic and whatever else you want to put in there. Originating in southern Louisiana, it is the perfect food to eat after a meander through New Orleans Square, and makes a nice end-cap to a Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Take all that goodness and serve it up in a sourdough bread bowl and you have a mighty fine way to take a break and people watch.

Making gumbo at home is fairly simple, but what makes it "Disneyland Official"? The recipe, of course! In this episode, we give you the exact Disneyland gumbo recipe used in the park, and it is very, very simple to make. It's also really authentic, which is a bonus. Join us as we interview Michael (aka "The Cap'n") from Main Street Elite, which is one of many Disneyland Social Clubs - essentially groups of folks who love going to the park. Maybe you have seen them walking about - they have Disney-related patches on their jackets and smiles on their faces. Michael is the founder of Main Street Elites, and he was nice enough to take time to explain the whole idea of Disneyland Social Clubs to us, how he started his, and what the reaction has been like from guests as well as Cast Members at Disneyland. The entire thing was fascinating to us and sort of restored our ideals of the Disneyland fan. Meaning, you don't have to have all the collectables, all the knowledge, or all the things in general. All you need is a good group of friends and love for the parks, and the Elites have that, for sure. It was a great interview, and we hope you think so, too.

Disneyland social clubs have become increasingly popular as of late, and we are just as interested in them as you are!

Is DCA better than Disneyland? Not if you know what's good for you ... Terrence threw this statement out on another show, and it sort of turned our whole world topsy-turvy: "I think DCA is better than Disneyland".

Let that sink in ... this man thinks California Adventure is better - better - than Disneyland! That notion has never even crossed my mind before, not to mention passed through my lips. So we made Terrence prove it on this show.

It's true - there are many unique things to do in Disneyland that don't require a line Disneyland and DCA have the unique ability to be the best place in the world and the worst place, sometimes at the exact same moment. Take away the rides, the fun things to look at, the music, and the art and you are left with ... mobs of people. Navigating through a crowd can turn anyone's smile upside down, not to mention waiting in lines for rides with these people. Hearing their conversations about food and family, all while their kids crawl over every rock and swing from every pole can be enough to drive anyone to rip their earz off and head to Carthay Lounge for a nice few Manhattans.
