I am a board certified facial plastic surgeon with a passion for BEAUTY in all forms, inside & out. I love human faces & my dogs tail. I was born & raised in Mississippi, spent my entire childhood trying to get to New York or LA & most of my adult life wishing I was HOME. I have a passion for truth- beauty parlor- bathroom type truth. I think we are at our BEST inspiring and sharing with other women.I believe real beauty is being brave, bold & having the courage to follow your heart. I value honesty most of all & cherish the trust so many give to me. I see every detail on every face, the shadows & the light & this is my gift. I can operate, inject or laser to redirect shadows, remove extra skin, or smooth skin texture- but the real MAGIC is seeing the light of HAPPINESS shine from inside when someone looks like they did 5 or 10 years ago. This is the feeling I wake up FOR.
There are things about you that make you "different" or "quirky"- these may be your greatest gifts to the world.
Think of them as clues that help you along your treasure hunt to discovering your purpose.
Look for the energy- for what inspires you to DO something- to BE something.
Your heart will beat faster- You will know.
Finding calm in the chaos- how do you do it? How are you taking care of yourself & why it matters.
What is it about Fairytales that bring such happiness? I think it is about the women- the mermaids... watching them express who they are & find their voice. We all want to be who we are- to have the courage to follow our hearts. How do we do it?
It is International Women's Day. Time to reflect on the true power of a determined woman. There is simply nothing more powerful on earth.
Embracing your quirks is really about honoring who you are on a cellular level. It is also what encourages other women to talk & share their stories. There is nothing more powerful than accepting & honoring yourself & all the crazy things about you.
Your life will tell you where you belong- what you really want & how to get it. All you have to do is listen.
Finding this from 9 years ago- sometimes you have to go back to go forward. There are so
many parts of yourself you “forget” or lose as you age. Time to get them back ( the good parts) & enjoy your life,
You have decided you want to do something about how you look- you look tired, sad - feel old... but who do you turn to & how do you decide who to see? The very last thing you want is a complication. When elective procedures aren't perfect- the remorse is real. The money spent often pales in comparison to the humiliation of an enlarged obvious version of something that you already found embarrassing.
This podcast is a few things I would look for & why. Beauty is Art- and preserving &/or restoring it is my passion.
Beauty is creatively displayed in so many ways. The practice of Facial Plastic Surgery is an artistic form of self expression that makes me feel alive. When you LOVE what you do- you don't put it in a box. Separating "personal" from "business" is like going to a phone booth to make a call. It is over & I am glad it is. Show up & SAY who you are- what you believe in & where you find your greatest happiness. Connections only exist with honesty & openness.
Looking how you feel on the inside is important- really important. Beauty- Feeling Beautiful is beyond skin deep- it is on a soul level.
What makes you feel beautiful?
To know someone- really know someone is incredible- you are never surprised- shocked or stunned, you KNOW. We really do know ourselves like this - deep down - we know. Learning to truly trust that whether in a relationship or choosing a surgeon- trust yourself. You know exactly what to do.
The moments when you feel like you belong NO WHERE are the moments that point you to your place. My 9th grade Biology class- the teacher making dead starfish dance- and I left- that was a moment. Those feelings & perceptions ultimately find their place & are clues to who you are & what the world needs from you.
Your Relationships - all of them- require TRUST- and that is a GIFT- a BLUE BOX gift- give it to those who you KNOW really SEE you. Not just lines on your face- but YOU and all that you represent. Don't settle. Not with ANYthing in life.
Stop apologizing for who YOU ARE. That "weird" characteristic is a perfect clue to your purpose. Embrace what is different & stop apologizing for it.
Descriptions are SO hard for me. I speak to you from my heart & never know what I will say BUT when you write me & say I INSPIRE you I do another one because I want HAPPINESS for us ALL...
As women, we BELIEVE- so completely- so deeply every time over & over again. What a beautiful quality that I hope to help preserve in the beauty business by sharing the truth in all that I do. I LOVE seeing a woman feel GOOD about herself & look more like herself despite age & stress. Knowledge is POWER.

Life can be terrific & those are the BEST of times- yet the trying times are when you find out who you really ARE & what you REALLY want. Attention to your feelings will lead you to your greatest passions.
Life lessons from my Dad kept me from going to study with my medical school class at 5am- because I LOVE my mornings. He explained how life is a series of hoops, and you figure which ones you HAVE to jump through. This lesson has been with me for many years and in this episode I will share with you the many ways it has helped me.
The path to my PASSION began with an application to medical school as a young rebellious teen who just applied because my dad said "stay in school or get a job".
In spite of many obstacles I do what I love everyday which gives you a confidence that is really unshakeable. I listen to women that inspire me everyday by sharing their lives, and we really are BETTER TOGETHER.
