The NBA playoffs continue to rage on. The number 1 seeds both suffered game one losses but have since managed to rally back. James Harden is playing out of his mind so is Luka and well so are a lot of players. You should be watching and listening to the sportscast. Baseball is stepping on its own feet again, no big surprise there. The NFL wants fans in the stands. Can they manage it?

View Details

The NBA playoffs start tomorrow. Who you got? Who's gonna blow it? Who's gonna shine? A lot of great series are about to start, which one are you most excited about? The Cardinals miss 2 weeks of baseball, can they make it up? Brandon gives his thoughts on UFC 252.

It's The Sideline Sportscast's 100th episode on the Trivial Wisdom Media Network, and we just want to thank all of you have ridden with us from the beginning and thank you to those who are just starting with us. Let me be the first to welcome you. The Marlins are sick, its COVID, no big shock there. Looks like a few games are gonna have to be missed but hopefully, the MLB is able to get things going smoothly again. Jamal Adams is a Seahawk, but did they get a good deal. It's the Clippers and the Raptors turn to enter the Bubble Trouble, our thoughts here.

View Details

The NBA Bubble draws nearer and the anticipation grows by the day. The boys are nearly done previewing all the Bubble teams and those same teams are starting to get good. The MLB is back with us and with a wonky new rule that is sure to piss off old heads. Dan Snyder is up to his old tricks, what will he do next?

View Details

The Boys are back, but the NFL might not make it back if it can not reconcile with concerned players. Tension is mounting between the two sides, what will be the end game? It took us too long but we talk about Jerry Sloan, what he meant to the Jazz and the NBA as a whole. Finally more NBA Bubble Trouble!

View Details

Shocking absolutely no one the Washington professional Football team has been caught up in a sexual harassment scandal. While a number of those accused have already been let go by the franchise, is that enough? Or is a more overwhelming culture at the root of this problem. Players seem to be leaving the NBA Bubble right and left for a variety of fo personal reasons. Does this threaten the safety of the NBA return? Three more NBA Bubble previews.

The Sportscast rages on. More NBA Bubble fun and news from around the sports world.

The ratings for Madden 21 are leaking right and left. To be honest there is some disrespect going around . The boys discuss which players got disrespected and the guys who were appropriately rewarded. Dan Snyder is finally being forced to change his team's name and some of the options are better than others. Which of the names are your favorite? Let us know! The NBA Bubble continues down its precarious trail. Russell Westbrook succumbing to Covid 19 represents the greatest roadblock the league has suffered so far. Can they recover?  All this and more right here.

View Details

Kyrie Irving has some opinions about the NBA Restart. The boys discuss their thoughts on Kyries sentiment and how much weight it carries for both fans and other players. The College football season is looking less and less likely. Will it be moved to the soring or will logistics make playing this season impossible. Julian Edelman has some thoughts on hate and the state of the world, the boy discuss the wisdom of this message. Finally a discussion on the first group of NBA Bubble teams. Enjoy!

The Lakers and Clippers met for a third time on March the 8th, and after beating the Bucks only 48 hours earlier the Lakers were able to defeat the Clippers for the first time this season. These two wins mark easily the most significant accomplishments for the Lakers this season and have reopened the MVP conversation that Giannis previously seemed to have tied up. Does Lebron deserve to bring home his fifth trophy or should the enigmatic Greek Freak get his hands on his second? Speaking of Giannis, James Harden was unable to keep his name out of his mouth while talking on the record with Rachel Nichols. The Beard seems to consider the Freak an unskilled player. Do you agree? The Future Five are already here and making big differences, find out who got into the exclusive group put together by LeBron. And just for you football fanatics, there is a little Brady talk in here too.

View Details

Basketball has taken over the world and for the most part, our show! The boys are back with takes on the recent free-agent signings in the NBA. Which Morris brother will be more impactful in L.A.? can Reggie Jackson be productive on a winning team? Has Jeff Green ever actually played basketball?! The answers to these questions and more and more can be found inside. The Greek Freak made several comments in the last calendar week but none more shocking than his speculation on whether and where he and his brothers may find themselves playing in the NBA together. The NFL Players don't want to play 17th regular-season game, do you want to watch one?

View Details

Hey y'all sorry for the late posting, a little bit of technical difficulty on our side but we got things all patched up. The NBA announced its Hall Of Fame finalists and while three obvious legends in Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan and of course Kobe Bean Bryant will be granted entry, Chris Bosh did not make it. Now you may not think this a travesty like I do (John here btw) but that'd because you're wrong. We do a pretty convincing job of making you think otherwise too. All you have to do is listen. Does Tom Brady have wanderlust at this advanced point of his career Brandon thinks so I'm not so sure? What are your thoughts? Remember to review and rate thanks y'all!

We here at the Sideline have decided to fully support the XFL and will be covering it regularly going forward so stop by any time for the latest in XFL everything. The NBA trade deadline has come and gone and if nothing else is clear this is, the traditional center has (at least for the moment) lost all his value. With Clint Capela and especially Andre Drummond being traded for cents on the dollar (in Drummonds case pennies) NBA general managers have made it clear that they are unwilling to sacrifice major cap space to keep rim runners and rebounders employed. Even rim protection seems to be only minimally valued unless a center is going to deliver at Gobert like pace. The Wolve sare trying something new and so are the Warriors, as they swap problematic big contracts in the hopes of starting over new. Andre Igoudala will be playing professionally once again and the Heat in getting him did well to rid themselves of some burdensome contracts. The NBA All-Star game has a new and... interesting format. we'll see how that works out for them...

The Chiefs did battle with the 49ers on Sunday fro supreme ownership of the shiny bauble. Coming back from behind Mahomes lead an incredible charge that left the entire city of San Francisco unable to enjoy even the finest of sourdough bread. Many barbecues were set ablaze in Kansas City, MISSOURI in case any world leaders were curious about the location of the celebration) and we like to imagine ribs, tri-tip, and perhaps some very solid vegan options were served. So a toast to the Kansas City on the end of a 50-year drought and a big congratulations to Andy Reid on finally getting into the champions club. The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, February the 6th and so far the trade market has been quiet, however just minutes before the start of the 2020 Suoer Bowl, the biggest sporting event of the year, Woj dropped that Rockets will be making waves by trying to trade starting center Clint Capela. Will the Rockets be able to recover their season (and their franchise in general)? Will there be any big trades this week? The answer to the first question no. But the second question is a little more interesting. With names like D'Angelo Russel and Jrue Holiday floating around things could get interesting. We also have some complaints in regards to all-star reserves. A couple of them suck. Sorry not sorry.

It was a tough week in the sports world. The lads a the sportscast pit together a Kobe tribute that we wanted to lead with this week. Hopefully, some of y'all got some joy out of that, or some tears, closure, whatever we were able to offer you We can not truly say how honored we are that you spent some time with us. The biggest game of the year is Sunday though so we figured we'd hit ya with some picks and analysis. Who you got? Is this really a quarterback league or does it belong to whoever can bring the sturdier defense? We have a genuine clash of titans to look forward to on Sunday and I like to think Kobe will be there with us all enjoying the competition. we've also got some all-star picks and a mild debate about the legacy of Eli Manning Enjoy!

Our SuperBowl is officially set and it looks like it will be the fn bases of Kansas City and San Francisco who will be finding new reasons to hate each other this year. The real question is does the 49ers having the first female coach to coach in the Superbowl counterbalance the fact that Nick Bosa probably isn't such a good guy (check his twitter history, oh wait you can't because he deleted because he wasn't such a good guy) or no? The NBA is at its halfway point in the season meaning that we have gotten to the approximately 25 games in an NBA season that people actually pay attention to. these next couple months are where these awards are won, so we figured we'd give you the early version of them. There are trades so bad that it is truly comical. We rounded a few up and hope that you enjoy them. Congrats to LSU on being National Champs!

The NFL Divisional Round is behind us, and so is all sense of reason. The Titans (do not adjust your screens) you heard that right the Titans, you know the team Ryan Tannehill playas for, will be playing in the AFC title game after beating the Ravens. Now to clear things up that would be the Ravens, the same that team that employs the likely MVP. And this would be that same Titans team that offed the reigning Super Bowl Champs just last week. So the only logical conclusion to come to is that the sky is falling and we will all soon be running for our lives. Predictably the 49ers destroyed the Vikings and nearly equally predictably the Chiefs made puppets of the Texans. But there was some genuine drama to be gleaned from the Seahawks at Packers. Astros doing some house cleaning in terms of staff. NBA Trade possibilities.

It was a bad weekend for you if you are a fab of the olf heads of the NFL quarterback scene. Both the Patriots and the Saints lead by Tom Brady and Drew Brees respectively lost their wild-card games in what felt to some like the end of an era, and maybe it is. But maybe not. On the other hand, if you're more into the youngsters coming up in the AFC then this was an excellent weekend for you. Watson, Jackson and Mahomes will all compete in the divisional round, which will no doubt incite overreactions from people like us and a good time will be had by all. Some mid-sized names could be on the move in the NBA pretty soon here. The like of Andre Drummond and Jrue Holiday aren't necessarily tired of their teams, but it may be time for each of their cities to rebuild, meanwhile Kevin Love is very much done in Cleveland, it's time to find that man a new home. There is no way to describe what David Stern meant to the NBA or the sports world at large. He will be missed.

View Details

The year, nay the decade is coming to its close and hat a ride it has been. Similar to the emotional rollercoaster that befalls Russell Wilson each and every time he looks at his roster. The NFL Playoffs are set and we have some good wild cards to look forward to in the coming weekend. Who are your favorites to win, lose and lose badly? Let us know in the comments! A number of coaches will be either looking for new jobs or enjoying their millions leisurely pretty soon here, but if you are Brandon Walton the name that you were hoping to hear called on Black Monday cough Jason Garrett cough has yet to be called and the suspense is killing him. Any Coaches you'd like to see go? The NBA Christmas day games were disappointing if you were a Raptors, Bucks, Rockets, Lakers or Nuggets fan. It also sucked if you are just a fan of good basketball as we only really got one good game. However, that game did lead to some solid controversy involving Kuzma and LeBron. Hope that you are all enjoying your holidays!

View Details

Thank you to everyone that has listened to us this year! Even if you just gave one listen, or if this is your first, John Thomas and Brandon thank you with everything that we have and promise to continue to improve and bring you the sports info and personality you enjoy! We urge you this holiday season to love with all you have, to give to all those you encounter in whatever way you can (that includes yourself, you deserve cool things too) and to enjoy yourself. You are allowed. Happy holidays and love from everyone at Triv Wiz and the Sideline Sportscast.

The 49ers are going to have to better than losing to the Falcons in week 15 if they want the boys at Sideline to believe in them. There's something soft to that team something that leaves on doubting whether they can go all the way to a Super Bowl. Something soft like the layer of chub around Carmelo Anthonys(who believes his number should be retired in Denver, lol) midsection. The Patriots have been filming Bengal practice and still had a poor first half against the struggling Cincinnati team. Fortunately(or unfortunately depending on how you feel), they are still the Pats and managed to come through in the second. But should we be as concerned about New England as we are about San Francisco? John is concerned about some NBA teams at this point in the season but even more concerned about the Dion Waiters who is clearly losing his mind.

View Details

John has some opinions about how the Houston Rockets have been carrying themselves. They aren't positive opinions. One might even say that they are particularly negative ones, but when an organization attempts to lobby for a win that they could not earn on the court, John gets a bit frustrated. The Pats lose to yet another of the new AFC big three (Watson, Jackson, Mahomes) and it's starting to feel a bit like a going away party for TB12. The Pats may be the best, but my god the clock is getting loud! LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma will be the 4 teams in the College football playoff this year. Who you got?

View Details

Week thirteen in the NFL has come and gone and it's pretty clear who is who in the ol' NFL. For instance, the Ravens are very good, the Browns are very bad and the Patriots are good, but not as good maybe as they were earlier in the season, as they demonstrated in their loss to the Texans Sunday. The Ravens (as noted previously) are very good, but is their cause for concern when it comes to Lamar Jacksons usage. Other notable running QB's have suffered the consequences of going head first defenses, will Jacksaons fate be similar or will he avoid the pitfalls that took out his predecessors. Kyrie Irving sure does like to complain about problems no one else can see. In his latest rant, he accuses sports media of... something. NBA Christmas is just around the corner. The boys take an early look

View Details

Hopefully, Jared Goff is having a good Thanksgiving. Maybe Sean McVay invited him over and they are discussing faking their deaths and adopting new identities after Monday nights horrible loss. Either way I hope you are having a good turkey day! Enjoy!

Let me tell you all a story that will enlighten and entertain. One day a pair of lads set out to make a recording. They were a bit rough around the edges but had the stars in their eyes, and believed that if they wished hard enough they too could make a podcast to be proud of. The lads worked tirelessly to complete the pod and when it was nearing completion, just when the world needed it most it disappeared. It was from then on known as the Ghost Pod and its legend continued to grow. Some say it skipped town, met a nice girl and settled down for a life free of the pressures of being a pod. Others say it roams the countryside, snatching up unwary travelers who are never heard from again. Some say that the Ghost Pod is just a myth, a fabrication put out there by The Sideline Sportscast to get more listeners. But I can tell you... the Ghost Pod is as real as you or I, and if you choose to listen to this podcast you will be listening to the closest reproduction of the Ghost Pod known to man. Enjoy but... BEWARE!

Brandon gives his takes on the Brawl in Cleveland, so now that's wrapped up with a tidy bow and we can just pretend that no one got hit with a helmet and go back to discussing interesting things. Yay! The results are in from the Kaepernick workouts, and people are mostly just mad. The majority of said people aren't sure what they are mad about, but the name Colin Kaepernick was used so they are at least certain that they are mad. The boys give their thoughts that. John has been thinking about what teams he believes so firmly could win a Super Bowl he'd bet his life, he wants to know how Brandon feels. Finally, Paul George scores a bunch, the NBA power rankings and the Raptors being stingy with rings. We have a special bonus episode coming it this Friday with a special guest. Stay Tuned!

Brandon and John don't see eye to eye when it comes to Load Management, but that' ok because neither do many of you! Where do you land on the load management argument? The NFL is almost though one of the strangest and least watchable weeks of the 2019-20 season. Underdogs got wins across the board and about half the teams had were on a bye week, but the whole weekend can be salvaged tonight with what promises to be a battle between the undefeated 49ers and Seahawks. Wilson will have to be at the absolute top of his game to drag his team to this victory. Do you believe that he can? Should the NBA (and a few other leagues look into letting players use THC without rebuke? Our thoughts are only a series of clicks away. Enjoy!

Week 9 of the NFL is behind us and Lamar Jackson might be god. Maybe that's an overreaction, but not much of one. Because of Lamars god-like actions, the Patriots have their first loss. Because the Jets don't care the Dolphins have their first win of the season. The Bears are a certifiable dumpster fire and the reason may be the QB, or the coach, or just Karma getting them back for passing on Watson and Mahomes. The Browns are done, the Steelers might not be and we are very very sorry to anyone still living in Cincinnati! There are a couple of point guards who may represent net negatives on the court. Who could they be?!
