George Thompson made the trip to Europe to take part in the European Downhill Championships and record this podcast from the pits. After a couple of huge crashes in his race run, he was relieved to finish (last/in 10th place) in one piece for his age group. There were some great results for the UK – Matt Walker took second in the Elite men, Mikayla Parton was 8th for Elite Women, George Madley took 7th in under 19s. Rowan Cross, Nathan De Vaux and Rhys Price all took top 10 spots in the U17 men, and in the U17 women’s top 10 there was Illy Morrison, Megan Horne and Katy McGowan. Reid Simpson, Ollie Carne and Charlie Toomer all grabbed top 10 spots in U15 men, and Olivia Taylor was 4th for the U15 women.

Thanks to the UEC and Alessandro Perrone – Sprint Cycling Agency for this gallery of photos.

Hello & welcome to Episode 9 of Season 4 of the podcast.

Episode 8 with Greg Minnaar & Jordan Williams amassed over 25,000 downloads & streams in its first week & is now our most popular episode ever, so a big thank you to everyone for tuning in & hello to any new listeners out there. We hope you all enjoyed that episode, you’ll enjoy this one & any future ones.

So, what have we got for you in this episode?

Well, in May 2020 we did our first show with Vali Hoell & Thibaut Daprela – 2 young guns who’d dominated their Junior categories & were about to embark on their first elite seasons. Then in September 2021 we did a follow up show. Thibaut had just crashed out in Snowshoe ending his chances of a first elite overall, but Vali won both Snowshoe races to take her first title. In this episode we’ll be catching up with them both about their 2022 seasons. But first…

Emilie Siegenthaler… It could’ve been the GOAT talking about 2022, or maybe it was Jordan Williams’ first podcast which made the last episode so popular… or maybe, it was your jetlagged team rumours? So, what have you got for us this time?
