Ann Coppinger, owner of Pettyjohns in Boulder, Colorado, sits with me and describes the best way to choose a wine for your holiday meals.
Ann is a Certified Specialist in Wine, a Certified Spanish Wine Educator, has an Advanced Certification in Wine and Spirit Education Trust, and is a graduate of the L'Ecole Du Vin De Bordeaux.
This little known, woman -owned neighborhood wine and liquor shop brought me back to the lovely neighborhood wine and liquor stores I found in Marais, Paris. So welcoming, and packed with the greatest of discoveries.
Ann created a Rosé called "Cuvee Ann" with Maria López de Heredia, a fourth generation winemaker at R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia winery, the oldest family-owned bodega in Haro, Mendoza to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Pettyjohns. The winery has only ever sourced grapes from its own vineyards, and works in harmony with nature, wasting as little as possible and reusing materials whenever practical.
She will have a limited number of signed bottles in the store! This is a perfect gift and wine that is great to have any time.
Wine tastings happen online every Friday at Pettyjohns. Sign up for their newsletter and find out what wines are being covered. Website - www,pettyjohns.com Facebook - pettyjohns
