This week, Ty and Dan discuss the films of Taika Waititi. However, Danny has COVID and Tyler has a life, so things are busy around here! They still make time for talking about comedic vampires, Up directed by Wes Anderson, and an Academy Award winning movie about nazis. Is it a satire or not? They can’t agree, but find out if their discussion of Thor’s most prolific director was worth TAIKAing their time and worth you WAITitING for.
This week, Ty and Dan discuss the all-time favorite MCU film, Thor: Ragnarok, and the many moments of hilarity in Taika Waititi’s debut entry in blockbuster cinema. Danny tries to rewrite for once and Tyler dissects the relationship between Bruce Banner and Hulk. Despite the glaring minor issues with the film that come from rewatching it so many times, they conclude that this is worthy of the title given at the beginning of the episode description.

For our fiftieth episode, we look back on the year in Marvel, giving out many superlatives. From WandaVision to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the podcast covered five new TV shows and five new movies along with several older Marvel projects. Follow along as Ty and Dan reminisce and figure out what was the best and sometimes worst of the year.
This week, Ty and Dan ring in the new year with the back half of Hawkeye. Tyler is sorely disappointed by the finale's depiction of the Big Guy, but Danny contends that the flaws there lie within the whole series' structure. Tyler admits his appreciation for Yelena's role in these episodes, while Danny manages to change the topic as often as he can to The Matrix Resurrections. The two also find time to briefly discuss Spider-Man: No Way Home's box office and give each other their first Green Room films of 2022.
This holiday, Ty and Dan get warmed up with cocoa as they discuss Spider-Man: No Way Home. If they told you anything else, Kevin Feige would sue them, so bundle up on this holiday with a super-sized breakdown of the latest appearance of the famed webslinger.
This week, Ty is joined by Falisha, as Danny vacations in Hawaii. Tyler and Falisha take a look at the 1977 made-for-tv film The Amazing Spider-Man and find it to be an intriguing experience. Falisha is all for the '70s fashion and music, while Tyler can't get enough of Captain Barbera and his cigar. Meanwhile, Tyler speculates that Danny is trying to get the Inhumans show rebooted, rather than enjoying lobster rosetta in the Hawaiian sun.
This week, Ty and Dan watched many shows, amongst them Hawkeye. Overall, the two like what they’ve seen so far and acknowledge there’s a lot coming in the next three episodes. Before they break down the episode, Danny explains his Spider-Monday experience. Later, Tyler mixes up his actors (again). The dog also gets a proper name. You know the one.
As is tradition, Pixar has released a followup short for their most recent film, and as is our tradition, we return to the Luca well to discuss Ciao Alberto, which is more of an epilogue to the film than we expected.
This week, Ty and Dan force Mark Young back onto the show, demanding he fulfill his duty to cover every cursed Spider-Man project. With The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the consensus is clear: it's a glorious mess that occasionally reaches greatness but often makes Choices that lead to plenty of unintentional humor. Tyler goes to bat for the romance scenes between Peter and Gwen, but Danny thinks the ironically funny parts are more worthwhile. Mark points out that Peter is legitimately a stalker in this, and agrees with Danny that Marton Coskas is a gem. After all, he (and, according to Tyler) Jamie Foxx truly understood the assignment. Be sure to listen to this as you clean your chimney, as we close out our Spider-Man retrospective with the more memorable Amazing movie.
This week, Ty and Dan invite back Committed Critics' Kevin Lau to break down 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man. Danny genuinely thinks this is the worst film we've covered though, and Tyler isn't too far behind. Nevertheless, Kevin comes out swinging, defending it by calling it merely mediocre. Danny gets a taste of his own medicine as he compares the casting to 21 Jump Street, while Tyler blames Uncle Ben for not understanding basic gun safety. Kevin explains why the crane sequence works for him too. In the end, they desperately try to break down into laughter of Ice Age lore and the sheer inanity of the film, but the best promises are the ones we don't keep.

THE DEAD SPEAK! This week, Ty and Dan talk about the latest MCU property, Eternals. Tyler opens with declaring war on critics, which Danny doesn’t particularly endorse, considering he considers himself a non-professional critic. Tyler later presents a possibility for the introduction of mutants into the MCU while Danny demands an accurate representation of his glorious Windy City.
This week, Caleb S. Bunn rejoins Ty and Dan to discuss Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 (2007). Caleb defends the film as secretly the most fun Spider-Man movie, while Danny gets chills at the third act. Meanwhile, Tyler tries to make sense of the characters and decides to gush on the score instead. Then, Danny breaks down the 2007 Teen Choice Awards and Caleb believes this could be the end of Spider-Man. In the end, the trio all agree that you can’t judge a movie on its memes. So good!
This week, Ty, Dan, and return guest Caleb S. Bunn discuss the films of director Chloe Zhao in preparation for Eternals. The trio discuss the style of Zhao’s filmmaking and how that will be incorporated into a blockbuster which leads to Tyler revealing his secret love for a certain Wes Anderson film. Meanwhile, Caleb tries to give Danny credit for him seeing The Rider, but Danny has no idea what he’s talking about.
This week, Ty and Dan revisit 2004’s Spider-Man 2 with returning guest Sarah Knauf. Danny deals with Wi-Fi issues constantly while Tyler quizzes Sarah on how Black Widow ended. Then, Tyler gives his theory on why this film is so focused on Peter Parker, Danny reveals the secret history of Danny Phantom, and Sarah defends Mary Jane's reputation. All three of them probably talk a little too much about Spider-Man 3, but ultimately, everyone agrees on the simple pleasures of Alfred Molina.

This week, we go back a decade with a friend Danny saw Thor with in theaters way back when. Drew (the friend) really came to evangelize about the 2005 cinematic masterpiece Racing Stripes. Danny fits in a rant about the Oscars, and Tyler promotes a new Disney Plus show featuring an “According to Jim” aesthetic. When revisiting the film, the three marvel at how young Tom Hiddleston looks, the incredible amount of product placement, and a cold open none of them remembered. Also, Tyler found time to watch the deleted scenes (but not the film itself).
This week, Danny loses thirty-five minutes of his audio in a computer crash, but Tyler doesn’t notice, and continues talking about Bigfoot. We desperately attempt to save the episode, but we’re gonna be transparent about it. Thankfully, his Soul discussion wasn’t lost, and neither was Tyler’s bizarre Zeus pitch for Thor 4.
