The Whitaker Show is geared towards talking about Jesus as well as how to talk about Jesus. Through various topics, I hope to engage with my audience on how to defend one's faith through apologetical-centered dialogues. I aim to talk with you and not at you so that when you hear the content of the show you can use the information in your walk with others. The Show is posted every Saturday but you can listen at any time!
So today, we dive into yet another primer on debating against atheism. Though one doesn’t HAVE to be an atheist to be a naturalist or nihilist, the philosophical and quasi-religious belief in atheism is closely tied with those two topics. That being said we need to understand naturalism and nihilism so we can know how to talk about it. It’s not enough to debunk atheism we have to prove that there is an empirical and scientific basis for our theistic beliefs in God, Yahweh, Jesus, you know, the big man upstairs. So let’s dive in!

The topic of genders and biological sex has become severely contentious. The issue is primarily debated in politics and sometimes is debated between scientists. I aim to bring this topic into the realm of philosophy and theology. Let me be clear, though there is a solid Christian stance on this, this is not a message of condemnation. The aim of explaining this using the Bible, science, and philosophy is to create the conversation around this point. Many Christians don’t know how to talk about this with love and THAT is the goal of the show today.

We’ve all heard this word, COMPLACENCY. Some studies say it’s a good thing, some say it’s a bad thing. Many of us though, Americans that is, don’t think about it. We are thinking about what we want to entertain ourselves with next, what the next workday is going to look like, what can I do to pass time? This is the exact thinking that leads to you being exactly where you are, constantly. Today, I aim to talk about this term, relate it to Christianity, and prove the effectiveness of a Christian worldview in relation to this term.

Today I am going to partner with Ashli Dunn to talk about women across religions. The goal is to give an apologetic defense against how popular American culture, and the world, holds Christianity’s views on women. We are going to look at Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and other religions to see how not just the religion operates, but also how different cultures hold women both in ancient times and in modern times. For all of this, I have the perfect guest, Ashli, a mother, wife, scholar, and church worship leader to discuss this with

The battle for Ukraine rages and many people don’t know exactly what is going on. There is much more in play than just a quote-on-quote war. We will discuss the history of Russia as well as an abbreviated history of Ukraine to determine why what is happening is happening. To add to this, I’m going to bring on a 30+ year Air Force Aviation Veteran, my father, Robert Whitaker to discuss this history. Its also even more important to discuss the spirituality of the largest war since WW2. To this end, I’m bringing on Pastor David Maguire to find out more on that front. Let’s dive in!

Not many people know much about Buddhism. It's one of the world’s largest religions, however, and it's worth breaking down its tenets in contrast with Christianity. I believe it's good to also take a look at the cultural impacts of other religions so we can break down what someone believes in contrast or comparison to what you may believe. There are many parallels between popular American culture and Buddhism, and we need to look at what that is. I will also bring in some counterarguments so we can see what that looks like. I have with me Dr. Alexander as well so it's going to be a full show!

Was the title of this episode simple enough for you? Yes, hypocrisy, is something we all cannot ignore and we all, justifiably, get “up in arms” about it. What does this topic have to do with Christianity? What does it look like in other religions in the context of doctrine or theology? Let’s talk about that! Are we allowed to be hypocrites? Is it truly bad? I’ll answer that. All good topics get deeper as they go and there are deep philosophical questions involving hypocrisy, therefore I believe we can use this topic to prove our faith in God and, in turn, strengthen our own lives.

The topic of personal growth is often linked with psychological tips and to terms like mental organization. I believe it should be linked to one’s spirit and their growth with God, but there is an argument to be made for us, as individuals, to develop frameworks so that we are as mentally successful as possible. Mentally successful you say? Well, yes, see, we all need to be STRIVING for something, building UP to something. Growth is vital to humanity, and we are all humans! Growth also requires certain things of us, I will talk about this today and more!

The New Year is the cliché time of the year to post, talk about, or make content on what the “New Year” means, air quotes, of course. There are tons of different views on the New Year, people, you know, make resolutions that they ALWAYS KEEP NO MATTER WHAT IT NEVER FAILS. Right. But I believe that the focus on the New Year needs to be oriented on Christ. Shocker? Yeah, I know right. It all comes down to where your focus is. If you read the title, no this isn’t blasphemy. I hope to encourage and convince you of the validity, historicity, and reliability of the Word of God. Also, I am going to expound to you as to why Biblical Inerrancy is a key feature of Christianity and how it is definitely a hill that we would want to die on. Too many times religious debates involve obscure topics or the debate dies with spurious doubts surrounding the Bible and how it was formed. I aim to debunk these and to set you on a path of discovery for yourself.

Heroism is nothing new, but there are different types of heroes out there. What people, nations, creeds, religions, and causes fight for are important to note. With this being said, the greatest nation on planet Earth is the United States and we have a truly astounding amount of heroes among our countries ranks. It's important, regardless of your affiliation to honor your heroes and what they do, but more importantly, it's important for us to realize why we honor them. Let's look at these reasons and also dive deep into the Word of God to see His perspective on heroes, courage, and where we should all gather our examples from.

Today I aim to talk about making excuses and why humanity has a propensity to do so. Do you find yourself doing the same? You do something wrong, something convicts you, or you just can't seem to do something so you cop out of it? I know I do right? I mean we are human are we not? But let me tell you, that doesn’t mean that it's ok. God aims to provide the best for us as He is the God of all that is good. Therefore, oftentimes we can find that the Spirit is leading us to stop making excuses and to claim ownership of our lives, and well, that means being honest with ourselves.

The quest to understand human free will and whether we are independent beings is a quest that is fought on the battlefields of philosophy. We all know atheists and most of us know what atheism is. If you don’t that is entirely fine and that’s why I am here. There are differences, however, between atheism and agnosticism.
I plan on discussing these terms and giving you a huge breakdown that debunks the ideological tenants of atheism. How is this done? I will make scientific, religious, and moral arguments in favor of religion in general and, most importantly, in favor of Christianity as opposed to an ideological worldview that abstains from belief in a Creator or intelligent design.

Fortunately, I feel that the topic of Works is a topic that many Christian churches cover. However, that’s not always the case. Many people wonder about the dividing line between a life lived in faith and a life lived in works. There’s a difference, but it's not a “pick a lane” sort of choice though. My Christian walk has been defined by this debate, however, and I want to broach it. As I go through the three Abrahamic Faiths, I think its important to touch on the deeper aspects of Islam. I’ve touched on this before, namely in my episode about Sharia Law versus Mosaic Law. Importantly, I believe its important to show similarities but also differences? Why? Because just talking about religions isn’t enough. We must analyze them. We must discuss their aspects because nothing is just surface deep. There’s always a deeper story. So, lets dive in a see the deeper story of Islam and its relation to Christianity.

Are those two topics closely related? We will address this too! In this episode, I am going to talk about Christian hope and Christian fear so that we can find out what these items mean, how to protect against one of them, and how to encourage the other one. People often fear what they do not know, and hope can seem so unnecessary in the face of cynicism. We are called as Christians to have a spirit of power and love not fear. However, fear can be helpful even though it is an imperfect bond with God. I’ll discuss what this means. Even more helpful is the aspect of hope. Faith and hope are intertwined, and I’ll show you how cynicism can be beat by hope and knowledge
