PS 1:1-2, 3, 4 and 6
R. (40:5a) Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
Blessed the man who follows not
the counsel of the wicked
Nor walks in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the company of the insolent,
But delights in the law of the LORD
and meditates on his law day and night.
R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
He is like a tree
planted near running water,
That yields its fruit in due season,
and whose leaves never fade.
Whatever he does, prospers.
R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
Not so, the wicked, not so;
they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
For the LORD watches over the way of the just,
but the way of the wicked vanishes.
R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Jesus, you are my King. Without you my life has no meaning, with you everything in life has a purpose. Shape me, mold me, change me from the inside out. I want to serve you forever and ever. Amen.
Psalm 30:5
For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
5
All day long they twist my words;
all their schemes are for my ruin.
6
They conspire, they lurk,
they watch my steps,
hoping to take my life.
7
Because of their wickedness do not[a] let them escape;
in your anger, God, bring the nations down.
8
Record my misery;
list my tears on your scroll[b]—
are they not in your record?
9
Then my enemies will turn back
when I call for help.
By this I will know that God is for me.
10
In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise—
11
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can man do to me?
12
I am under vows to you, my God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
Psalm 3:3-8
But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
4
I call out to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.
5
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
6
I will not fear though tens of thousands
assail me on every side.
7
Arise, Lord!
Deliver me, my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.
8
From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
Psalm 103:17-18
But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.

Acts 20:24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Proverbs 12:19-25
19
Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.
20
Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but those who promote peace have joy.
21
No harm overtakes the righteous,
but the wicked have their fill of trouble.
22
The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in people who are trustworthy.
23
The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves,
but a fool’s heart blurts out folly.
24
Diligent hands will rule,
but laziness ends in forced labor.
25
Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20a
If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us.
John 3:17
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 1:12
12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
John 14:15-21
Jesus said to his disciples, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you.
"I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them."
1 Peter 3:13-22
Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated, but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and reverence. Keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who abuse you for your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God's will, than to suffer for doing evil. For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit, in which also he went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison, who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water. And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you-- not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers made subject to him.
Acts 17:22-31
Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, "Athenians, I see how extremely religious you are in every way. For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, To an unknown god.' What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. From one ancestor he made all nations to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, so that they would search for God and perhaps grope for him and find him-- though indeed he is not far from each one of us. ForIn him we live and move and have our being'; as even some of your own poets have said,
`For we too are his offspring.'
Since we are God's offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is like gold, or silver, or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals. While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead."
Christ is King. Praise His Holy Name. Lift up your hearts unto the Lord for the Lord is good. His mercy endures forever.
Ephesians 4:26-27
26 “In your anger do not sin”[a]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
Our God is an awesome, He watches over us from Heaven above, He provides for us on a daily basis. The mercy of our Lord endures forever, His grace is always manifested in our life.

Galatians 5:13
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Lord, my heart needs to be changed and purified. Help me Sacred Heart of Jesus, save me from myself. Fill my heart with a great love for You, that I may serve you and worship You with my every act. Amen.
Holy Spirit help us we pray, to be more inclined to Your leading. We need You desperately, have mercy on us.
1 Kings 8:27
27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!
Thank you Lord for another day! As I sleep tonight Christ watch over me and my family. Send You Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with a great love for You. Guide us and keep us always.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, transform our hearts. Take away the pride that keeps us from truly following You. Show us we pray, the way to live in accordance to Your will, that we may honor You and glorify You forever. Amen.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Let us pray for churches across America, that the Holy Spirit touch the heart of every congregant, for those who preach, that their message be void of politics and relativity, and that they focus on preaching the message of salvation.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Matthew 24:42-47
Jesus said to his disciples, "Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.
"Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give the other slaves their allowance of food at the proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at work when he arrives. Truly I tell you, he will put that one in charge of all his possessions."
Ecclesiasticus 44:1-7
Let us now sing the praises of famous men, our ancestors in their generations. The Lord apportioned to them great glory, his majesty from the beginning. There were those who ruled in their kingdoms, and made a name for themselves by their valor; those who gave counsel because they were intelligent; those who spoke in prophetic oracles; those who led the people by their counsels and by their knowledge of the people's lore; they were wise in their words of instruction; those who composed musical tunes, or put verses in writing; rich men endowed with resources, living peacefully in their homes-- all these were honored in their generations, and were the pride of their times.
There is no greater name than the Holy Name of Jesus. Praise and honor be to Your Holy Name Lord!
When is comes to love, mercy and compassion the generous Sacred Heart of Jesus is the only One worthy of all thanks and praise.
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, may all creation prostrate before You. May every human being worship You by deed, so that when they worship from their lips they will truly honor You.
John 14:1-14
Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him."
Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, `Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; but if you do not, then believe me because of the works themselves. Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If in my name you ask me for anything, I will do it."
1 Peter 2:2-10
Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow into salvation-- if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God's sight, and like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in scripture:
"See, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."
To you then who believe, he is precious; but for those who do not believe,
"The stone that the builders rejected has become the very head of the corner,"
and
"A stone that makes them stumble, and a rock that makes them fall."
They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Acts 7:55-60
Filled with the Holy Spirit, Stephen gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. "Look," he said, "I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!" But they covered their ears, and with a loud shout all rushed together against him. Then they dragged him out of the city and began to stone him; and the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul. While they were stoning Stephen, he prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Then he knelt down and cried out in a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he died.
Thank you Sacred Heart of Jesus for all You have done in my life. To think that You were calling me and I could have kept on rejecting Your love.
But in Your mercy O Lord, You have guided me back into Your presence. You took me by the hand and puled me away from the jaws of perdition.
Let my heart always be mindful of the love that You have for me Christ Jesus. May I always worship You and give You thanks!
Psalm 55:22.
22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Romans 11:33
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
Psalm 130:4-8
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
5
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
6
I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.
7
Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
8
He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.
Numbers 23:19
God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?
Thank you Sacred Heart of Jesus, you are always taking care of us. You know what awaits before us, so we can trust You with our life.
Please Sacred Heart, protect us from all evil, guide our hearts away from sinfulness and bless us with the ability to love as you love. Amen.

Thank you Jesus for the things you do for me. Where there was lack, in your mercy you still helped me.
Your Sacred Heart showed me that You always love me and You always bless me. That Your love remains even when I don't appreciated.
O Sacred Heart, how I pray that You forgive me. Cleanse me and protect me that I never stray from You.
Brothers and sisters, one thing that we can all agree on, regardless of denominational affiliation is that sin is rampant. I say this, not because I am looking at the world from my righteous seat, but because by the mercy of God, as I write these words I am looking at my wretched heart.
So if there is some judging to do by me, let it be of my own corruptness, and when it comes to the world I should be concerned with sharing the love of Christ by action and as St. Francis of Assisi said "when necessary use words".
So this whole mentality of pointing fingers at the world in contempt needs to stop; this clenching of the fist against those who we consider grave sinners needs to stop; this pushing those who we do not consider to be worthy away must stop.
Encouraging others to follow Christ can be far more effective than telling them that they are going to hell. Not that we should not preach the full Gospel, but that the Good News should be gift wrapped with acts of love, compassion, mercy, tolerance, forgiveness and generosity. If I want to show the world that they should not sin then let me demonstrate it by my own pure living and not by my words, other than that, I should allow the Holy Spirit be the one pointing out sin.
Think about this for a moment: Did you fall in love with Jesus because He pointed out to you all the things that are wrong with you on a daily basis? Or did you fall in love with Jesus because He loved you first in spite of the fact that there was plenty that He could have pointed out was wrong with your life? Was it not the kindness of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that attracted you to Him? Was it not His love that knocked down the walls of perdition from your heart?
So then, if we are to be truly thankful to Christ Jesus for His forgiveness, let there be love towards others around us. If we are to truly worship and glorify our Lord, let there be love from us to all, even our enemies. I hate to say it brothers and sisters, but talk is cheap. Let’s stop talking and let’s start loving.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we do not know how to love! Please help us to love as You love us. Amen.
There is absolutely nothing better than closing your day with prayer. Coming before the Lord our God and pouring out our concerns before Him is a gift from Heaven.
One of the things that you may want to consider if you are not doing so already, is to ask the Lord to forgive you before you bring your request to Him
This prayer below, is structure in a way that allows for you to acknowledge your sin, and ask for forgiveness of your sins at the beginning of the prayer. Give this prayer a try if you haven't already!
This prayer is great for times when you do not have the words to say before the Lord. It is a lead way to pouring out your heart in repentance.
Praying for other people is something that our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to do. By saying these prayers with us here at Sacred Heart of Jesus Radio, you are fulfilling one of our Lord's desires for us.

Let our hearts be guided by Your inspiration Holy Spirit, let our minds be inspired by your eternal wisdom.
If there is any doubt in my heart Holy Spirit, take it away and replace it with faith. If my heart has hatred or contempt for anyone, even if I am unaware or if I am deceiving myself, Holy Spirit cast it out from me and replace it with Your love.
Let my heart be in the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so that I may serve You, love You and give You glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Proverbs 3:9-10
Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.
O Lord God, when it comes to Your mercy, there is nothing that compares to it. You give and You bless, and we often do not thank You enough for Your mercy.
Bless us Sacred Heart of Jesus, with the ability to have a thankful heart. That our hearts may always be accepting of whatever You give to us, and that we may always seek to give to those around us.
Psalm 41:1-3
1Happy are they who consider the poor and needy!
the LORD will deliver them in the time of trouble.
2The LORD preserves them and keeps them alive,
so that they may be happy in the land;
he does not hand them over to the will of their enemies.
3The LORD sustains them on their sickbed *
and ministers to them in their illness.
Scripture tell us that nothing can "separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39). This is so because the love of Christ is never changing and it is abounding even to the worst of us.
However, brothers and sisters do not be deceived into thinking that because the love of Christ is eternal, that you can go on living life as you please.
While the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is unlimited and eternal, our love for God leaves much to be desired. We are as unfaithful as they come; we are forgiven now and 5 minutes later we have already sinned against God.
Beloved, the problem has never been God! We are the problem; we are the ones at fault. What the scripture says is that God will always be there for us, so that when we open our hearts to Him we can be in communion with Him.
What the scripture does not say is that we can do whatever we please with our life, without regard for God, and that God will still allow us to enter into His Kingdom.
Perhaps the following passage will help those who are deceived into thinking that they can enter the Kingdom even if they live an unrepentant life."Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)
John 10:1-10
Jesus said, "Very truly, I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold by the gate but climbs in by another way is a thief and a bandit. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. They will not follow a stranger, but they will run from him because they do not know the voice of strangers." Jesus used this figure of speech with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.
So again Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and bandits; but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly."
1 Peter 2:19-25
It is a credit to you if, being aware of God, you endure pain while suffering unjustly. If you endure when you are beaten for doing wrong, what credit is that? But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God's approval. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
"He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."
When he was abused, he did not return abuse; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he entrusted himself to the one who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.
Acts 2:42-47
Those who had been baptized devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

I remember one time as I was ministering to a relative. I was trying to help this relative make a shift from working all the time without having time for Jesus, to carving up at least one day on the week to spend it in prayer and worship with Christ. The response I got was this" "I have to eat, so I have to work. I live here on earth not in heaven."
So true, this relative has to eat, we all do! So true, this relative surely lives on earth; but those who believe in Christ should live as if they were living in Heaven.
That was the point I was trying to make, that if we are to call ourselves believers of Christ, we have to shift our mindset from earthly living to Heavenly living.
One way we can live with our eyes fixed on the Kingdom of God is by making prayer an integral part of our day. Joining in for prayer with us in a daily basis is one way that you can do that. So I invite you to join us every day as we pray. Will you join us?
Lord Christ praise be You Holy Name! You are Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, all creation shall give You thanks.
My heart is joyful because You have touched me, because when I was walking away you called my name with great love.
Praise be to Your Holy Name Jesus! Your mercy endures forever. Amen.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, you always look out for us, You always provide for us. You are so merciful and generous.
Help us to always remember the greatness of your love for us. In that way we may always praise You and thank You. Amen.
What tomorrow will bring me or what the next day has in store for me I do not know. In fact, even if I have my entire day planned out today, I still do not do what the next moment will bring me.
However, the Lord Christ knows every detail of my life, past, present and future. So why not put my entire trust in Jesus Christ. After all, the Sacred Heart of Jesus is always looking out for me and for you. So we can rest assured that we are in great hands.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, without you my heart is like the cold tomb that tried to keep you prisoner after You were crucified. But when I open my heart and let you in, the rock that blocks my exit from the snare of sin is removed, and I can experience Your saving grace.
Grant that I may always be open to your love Lord Jesus. Let nothing get on the way of me following Your ways. Mold me, shape me, and build me up! I want to serve You Jesus, please rescue me from myself.
O Blessed Sacrament, the tabernacle of our heart desperately needs You. Without You it is cold and empty, but with You is comes to life!
Jesus you are my rock, my strength and my life! In You alone shall I trust, have mercy on me my Lord.
This morning was certainly hectic for me. I planned on taking care of some business before broadcasting Morning Prayer live this morning, but it turned out to take me longer than what I wanted.
As I was driving home trying to beat the clock before morning was over, I decided to pull over and park at a Hess gas station parking lot to broadcast live from there.
I want to apologize for any background noises you may hear. I was a very business gas station and avenue. Anyhow, I thank God for cell phones, the internet and technology. It certainly makes it a lot easier to communicate and minister now days.

Thank you Jesus for bringing us this far into this day. Without You it would have been impossible. I am so glad that You touched my heart and that thanks to Your grace I am now Your follower.
Sacred Heart of Jesus please never leave my side. I want you here, inside my wretched heart, so that I can be more like you each day that goes by.
'And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good...'(Romans 8:28) not because we are being rewarded for being good, but because in loving God we become accepting of His will.
Being subject to God then, we know that in the end our Heavenly Father is in control, and even in the times of tempestuous moments, we realize that at the end of the storm the sun awaits us.
Matthew 5:46-48
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Some people may wonder, are we who are devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus too much into praying? The answer is, we do not pray enough, we need to pray more.
When we pray a lot, we communicate with Christ a lot. Think of it as opportunities to be in communion with our Lord.
Make sure that you join in and pray with us on a daily basis. You will be glad that you are.
As you prepare to settle down before you go to sleep tonight, take a moment to reflect upon today's events. Some of you may have had a relatively uneventful day, while others had a day with even life changing events.
As you reflect on today's event, look and see where Jesus our Lord was present in your interactions and see how that interaction was positively influenced by the presence of Christ.
Reflecting is a great way to get a feeling for how your walk with Christ is going. It is a great way to see if you are allowing your heart be transformed by the Sacred Heart.
Brothers and sisters, as you pray for spiritual gifts, consider focusing your prayers on asking for the gift of love. For wherever there is love, humility will surely follow.
If there is humility, it will be manifested in service and giving; and if we humbly serve and give inspired by Christ's love, our service and giving then becomes ministry.
Those who minister will receive spiritual blessings according to the will of God, and out of the abundance of His grace and mercy.
So focus on the gift of love, so that the other gifts will be given unto you by the Holy Spirit.
Luke 24:13-35
On the first day of the week, two of Jesus' followers were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them, but their eyes were kept from recognizing him. And he said to them, "What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?" They stood still, looking sad. Then one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered him, "Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have taken place there in these days?" He asked them, "What things?" They replied, "The things about Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how our chief priests and leaders handed him over to be condemned to death and crucified him. But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things took place. Moreover, some women of our group astounded us. They were at the tomb early this morning, and when they did not find his body there, they came back and told us that they had indeed seen a vision of angels who said that he was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but they did not see him." Then he said to them, "Oh, how foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have declared! Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and then enter into his glory?" Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things about himself in all the scriptures. As they came near the village to which they were going, he walked ahead as if he were going on. But they urged him strongly, saying, "Stay with us, because it is almost evening and the day is now nearly over." So he went in to stay with them. When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight. They said to each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?" That same hour they got up and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven and their companions gathered together. They were saying, "The Lord has risen indeed, and he has appeared to Simon!" Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread.
1 Peter 1:17-23
If you invoke as Father the one who judges all people impartially according to their deeds, live in reverent fear during the time of your exile. You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. He was destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of the ages for your sake. Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God.
Now that you have purified your souls by your obedience to the truth so that you have genuine mutual love, love one another deeply from the heart. You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
Acts 2:14a,36-41
Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed the multitude, "Let the entire house of Israel know with certainty that God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified."
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?" Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him." And he testified with many other arguments and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." So those who welcomed his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand persons were added.

John 13:34-35
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
On Not Loving the World
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:15-17)
Mark 8:34-38
Jesus called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it. For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life? Indeed, what can they give in return for their life? Those who are ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of them the Son of Man will also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
1 Peter 1:3-9
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who are being protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffer various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith-- being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire-- may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Trials and Temptations
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.(James 1:2-4)
Acts 1:6-14
When the apostles had come together, they asked Jesus, "Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?" He replied, "It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. They said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day's journey away. When they had entered the city, they went to the room upstairs where they were staying, Peter, and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. All these were constantly devoting themselves to prayer, together with certain women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, as well as his brothers.
Have you ever found yourself wondering if God ever listens to your prayers? Have you prayed and prayed for a particular need and nothing happened? I know I have prayed for particular needs in my life and not gotten the answer I wanted. This is so when it comes to my own ministry, or when praying for terminally ill people.
Feeling that God does not hear my prayers or does not want to answer them my way has been frustrating to my walk in life. So how do I deal with is?
Truthfully, I just pray. I continue to pray for the terminally ill, I continue to pray for my ministry and for every one else. Why? Because even if I do not get the response that I hoped for in my prayers something is still true: Christ is King and His mercy endures forever!
If you are feeling like your prayer life is not producing the fruit that you expect, let me suggest that you do one thing: 1)Continue to Pray...Never give up!
