Let's face it, following Jesus can be difficult. The biggest thing to remember is that is not a sprint, but a marathon. Following Jesus is a Day by Day process, seeking His face more and more with each passing day. Through Day by Day we aim to offer resources, devotionals, studies, conversations with church leaders, anything to help aid you as you follow Jesus day by day.
The Bible can be a hard book to read. Many people won't admit that, but there are many things that can make it challenging. Its length, when it was written, some of the claims it makes. Ask any Christian and they would most likely tell you at one point they have had a hard time reading the Bible, which led to discouragement and maybe even a time when they walked away from trying to read it all together.
Pastor Brendon Schlappi and I have been conversing on this lately, and felt led to have a serious of conversations to address this topic, and offer help and insight about these obstacles that people can face reading the Bible. Hope you enjoy as much as we did recording!

The enemy's main tactic is to lie, to pervert God's Word and try to get us to believe something contrary to what He says. A common lie is an inversion of Phil 3:7-8. Instead of viewing the surpassing knowledge of Jesus as greater than the world, the enemy tries to get us to view the world as greater than Jesus.

The enemy prowls like a lion waiting to destroy its prey in a moment when its guard is let down. 1 Peter 5 warns of this, and offers some ways to keep our guard up on a day to day basis.
During this time, there are many unknowns. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us that no matter the circumstance and the unknowns of the future, we can trust in God. We don't know what is around the corner, but He does. Let us lean into Him, trusting that when we do with all our heart, He will make our paths straight.
