Meticulous in process and deliberative in choice, each of Praveen’s productions are met with much anticipation. Now the Bangalore resident embarks on the daunting task of remixing two of Australia’s finest. Taking a cue from the original while adding a heavier, more peak time state of mind, the Indian artist carves out a dynamic groove adorned with astral effects, fiery percussion and fresh rhythmic themes. Gentle overlays do wonders to take the edge off leading into the break, which expands the emotional narrative quite nicely. Melodic yet tense, the one minute centrepiece is a sensory delight, with its tactful build and effervescent swells uniting in a college of melodious colour, before ultimately sparking a striking re-entry. "Juicebox Music boss Praveen Achary makes his label debut and provides the first interpretation of ‘Obsydian’. Always a creative (and not to mention choosy) remixer, the Indian artist amazes here once again with a creation that follows the rhythmic feel of the original, but with a space and flow that’s much better suited to the dance floor. Possessing more of a dramatic undercurrent, it’s bulbous bass tones move through moments of emotional energy, while finely tuned percussion and electric lines converge for a canopy of colour and sound. "The release concludes with Praveen Achary making his label debut following remixes for Mango Alley and Spaghetti Monster. The Indian artist and Juicebox Music label boss chooses his projects wisely and this is certainly a great choice. Excellent original elements combined with Praveen’s creativity and attention to detail make for a powerful rendition. The groove is immediately infectious; warm, full and with a killer roll, it proves to be the perfect foundation for a hip swinging core. Heavily reliant on fresh ideas, it is dramatically different from the original, which I for one always hope a remix will be. Gentle chord stabs combined with some lovely work on the vocal elements and two strong, spacey motifs make for a concise and highly emotive journey. Likely one of Praveen’s all time best remixes if not the best. Definitely one to get any dance floor moving and great end to another on the money release from DJ Zombi and Beat Boutique. I've always loved Zoë Johnston's voice on Above & Beyond's music, most notably "No One on Earth" and "Good For Me". When the opportunity came to remix them, I had to go with the title track of the album - "We Are All We Need". With my interpretation, I aimed to maintain the mix-bag of emotions that comes from the lyrics, infusing it in the music as well. After all, it's always nice to have someone through the thick & thin.
