(The pope) cannot absolve you from the sins you have committed against God and from the spiritual death that you were born into because of your father Adam. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No man can come to the Father but by me Christ said. He said all that the father have given me will come to me and all that come to me I will in no wise cast out. His blood is effectual to atone, and cleanses those who are born again from above. Christ said. You must be born again. Search the Scriptures, they testify of Him. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but Christ's WORDS shall not pass away. Christ said, my sheep hear my voice and they follow me and no man can pluck them out of my hand and no man can pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. Jesus Christ was the sin bearer for all for whom he died. He came to save His people from their sins and just before He died on the cross He said, It is finished. He completed the work that His Father had sent Him to Earth to do. What a marvelous Savior is the Lord Jesus Christ for all those for whom He has chosen before the foundation of the world and called and died for. He is the Author and finisher of the faith of all of His People.
Arminians continually try to discredit the biblical doctrine of grace by giving it a pejorative label, to make it seem as though it is a man-made doctrinal contrivance. The label they commonly use is Calvinism. John Calvin lived in the 16th century, and although he acknowledged the doctrine of God's grace, he never broke it down and expressed it as the so-called five points of Calvinism attributed to him. The five points of Calvinism did not surface until after Calvin and Arminius were both dead. It was the followers of Jacobus Arminius that came up with five points of Arminianism and then labeled the Christian objection to those five points the five points of Calvinism. After Arminius death (1609), his supporters, led by Simon Episcopius issued a remonstrance in 1610. The remonstrance contained five articles summarizing their divergence from the fundamental aspects of accepted Christian orthodoxy. After issuing the remonstrance, Aminius followers became known as The Remonstrants. The five articles of the Arminian Remonstrance are: Article 1: God's election was conditioned on the free will choice of man; Article 2: Jesus atoned for the sins of everyone in the world, both The Anti-Gospel 17 saved and unsaved; Article 3: While man is depraved, God provides a special (prevenient) grace to all men that partially awakens them from their depravity so that they can make a free will choice whether to believe in Jesus; Article 4: Man can resist the grace of God; Article 5: God assists one who is saved in resisting the temptations of the devil, but a person can by the exercise of his free will reject God and lose his salvation. The five articles of the Arminian Remonstrance were the focus of the Synod of Dordtrecht (a/k/a Synod of Dordt) in the Netherlands. The synod responded to the remonstrance in 1619 with The Canons of Dordt, wherein the Dutch Reformed Church rejected the teachings of Arminius. The so-called five points of Calvinism were actually developed from the Cannons of the Synod of Dordtrecht in response to the Arminian Remonstrants and not from John Calvin, who had been long dead before the Synod of Dordtrecht met. The Arminians had to find a way to get out from under the cloud of heresy after their theology was refuted by an official synod of the Dutch Reformed Church. The Arminians came up with the idea of creating a straw man in John Calvin. Rather than argue that the theological dispute was Arminianism vs. the Synod of Dordt (or more accurately Arminianism vs. Christianity), the Arminians re-labeled the conflict as Arminianism vs. Calvinism. Once the Arminians succeeded in relabeling the dispute, Arminianism could gain the false appearance of being on firmer theological footing. The Moody Bible Institute, named after Arminian revivalist Dwight L. Moody, publishes the Moody Handbook of Theology. The Moody handbook is typical of the inaccuracies in the historical record regarding Arminianism. The Moody Handbook of Theology describes Arminianism as being expressed in the Remonstrance, a document produced in 1610, formally protesting Calvinism in the Netherlands. The mis-impression given by the Moody handbook is that Calvinism was identified as such before the Remonstrance was issued. In fact, the label Calvinism was not coined until after the Synod of Dordt issued its articles in response to the Arminian Remonstrance. The Moody handbook also defines Arminianism in its glossary in pertinent part as: A doctrinal system formed by Jacobus Arminius (1560-1609) as a response to Calvinism in the Netherlands. Again, the handbook is misleading; it gives the false impression that Calvinism, as such, predated Arminianism, and that Arminianism addressed the doctrines of Calvinism. In fact, it was the biblical doctrine of the sovereign grace of God that predated Arminianism, and that is to what Arminianism was a response. Over the years, those who defended the sovereign grace of God ignorantly fell for the ploy of the Arminians by calling themselves Calvinists. They did not understand that the Calvinist title played into the hands of the Arminians, by suggesting that the biblical doctrine of the sovereign grace of God is the brain-child of John Calvin. Claiming to be a follower of Calvin or a follower of Arminius demonstrates a carnality of the mind that should be resisted. For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal 1 Corinthians 3:4. As Christians, we are to be followers only of Jesus Christ. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11. On November 28, 2017, we published a report entitled The Earth Is Flat and We Didn't Land on the Moon. It contained an excerpt from a report by Dr. Danny Faulkner containing testimonies by U.S. astronauts, plus links to various reports debunking the flat earth myth. The title of the November report was written tongue in cheek, of course, because in my estimation, the flat earth stance is unadulterated nonsense. I am convinced that it is held by people with a perverse spirit toward reality. Pagan mythology aside, mankind has known that the earth is a sphere since ancient times. Since at least the sixth century BC, Greeks knew that the earth is round. Eratosthenes determined the earth circumference by observational science. When the Roman Emperor Hadrian ascended to the throne in AD 117, a coin was minted showing his predecessor, Trajan, handing him an orb or globe, signifying his authority over the earth. Time zones prove that the earth is round, and modern communication technology makes it possible to communicate with someone in another time zone in real time. When it is noon in Nepal, I can Skype someone in America and learn that it is night time there. This can only be explained if the world is round and rotating on its own axis. When the sun is shining on one part of the earth, the opposite side is dark, and vice versa. The airline industry proves that the earth is round. Every long distance airline pilot knows for a fact that the earth is round. The Concorde flew at 11 miles high where the curvature of the earth is easily seen. High-flying jets, rocket planes, and balloons routinely observe a round earth. SpaceShipOne flew to 69 miles high in 2004. The SR-71 Blackbird routinely flew at 16 miles high over its 35-year history. NASA Apollo Moon program proves that the earth is round. The international satellite industry proves that the earth is round. The International Space Station (ISS), which has been orbiting the earth about 15 times per day for 17 years, proves that the earth is round. The Space Shuttle Program, which operated from 1981 to 2011, delivering supplies to the ISS and launching and repairing satellites, proved that the earth is round. The lunar eclipses prove that the earth is round. These occur when the earth comes between the sun and the moon and the earth casts its shadow on the moon. The shadow clearly shows a spherical earth, not a flat earth. I was astonished to receive email from three subscribers to the Fundamental Baptist Information Service who wanted to argue for a flat earth and who believe the Apollo program was a lie. Some of the early astronauts were Masons, they say, and that is supposed to prove something. One man said he does believe in the International Space Station, and though he does believe there were U.S. Space Shuttles, he is sure they didn't go to the ISS and he doesn"t know where they went or what they did. Please! I told one man, You have borrowed a bunch of nutty things from some nut. I told a man who wanted me to call him and discuss the matter, have zero interest in discussing that. It is as nutty as a fruitcake. I am serious. You couldn't convince these people that water is wet. As for a flat earth in the Bible, I have had the privilege of studying that Book for an average of probably eight hours a day for 44 years; I have written a Bible Encyclopedia and books on Bible interpretation and difficulties. I don't know everything, but I can check anything that is proposed as support for a flat earth, and having done so, I can say unequivocally that there is no support in Scripture for such a doctrine. The Internet is an unprecedented tool for communicating Gods Word, but it has made it possible for any wacko to publish nutty things. Beware!

The change in the position of the Protestant denominations toward Rome was the direct result of a concerted campaign by agents of the Roman Catholic Church. One of the methods used by the Roman Catholic theologians was to relegate much of the book of Revelation to some future time. In 1590 a Roman Catholic Jesuit priest Francisco Ribera, in his 500 page commentary on the book of Revelation, placed the events of most of the book of Revelation in a period in the future just prior to the end of the world. He claimed that the antichrist would be an individual who would not be manifested until very near the end of the world. He wrote that the antichrist would rebuild Jerusalem, abolish Christianity, deny Christ, persecute the church, and dominate the world for three and half years. Another Jesuit, Cardinal Robert Bellarmine, promoted Ribera's teachings. Bellarmine was one of the most influential cardinals of his time. In 1930 he was canonized by the Vatican as a saint and Doctor of the Church. This Catholic interpretation of the book of Revelation did not become accepted in the Protestant denominations until a book titled The Coming of the Messiah in Glory and Majesty was published in 1812, 11 years after the death of its author. The author of that book was another Jesuit by the name of Emanuel de Lacunza. William Kimball in his book Rapture, A Question of Timing, reveals that de Lacunza wrote the book under the pen name of Rabbi Juan Josaphat Ben Ezra. Kimball attributes the pen name to a motive to conceal his identity, thus taking the heat off of Rome, and making his writings more palatable to the Protestant readers. It is as likely that in fact the pen name was not a pen name at all, but rather Lacunza a true identity as a Jewish Rabbi. It is possible that Lacunza was a crypto-Jew, who wrote the book under his true identity as a rabbi. One does not suddenly convert to Judaism and then become immediately so versed in that religion that one takes on the title rabbi. He must have had the learning of a Rabbi in order to write a book that contains knowledge of Judaism expected of a Rabbi. It is notable that the book was not published by Lacunza himself, but by someone else eleven years after his death. Why would Lacunza go through such trouble and then not publish the book? Could it be that Lacunza was in a dilemma? The book was targeted to a Protestant audience, who would not accept a futurist theory from a Jesuit. So he knew he could not publish it under his true name. He had to publish under another name. Could it be that he had some concern about publishing the book, which would expose his true identity as a Jewish rabbi, and therefore he demurred on doing so? While that explains his actions, couldn't he have simply used some other non-Jewish pen-name? There is no authoritative answer to that mystery.

The dedication by Irving is even more revealing, for it tells us what is the real force behind the promotion of the pretribulation rapture thought of Lacunza book. Irving in his dedication to the book states that he translated the book because it demonstrates the erroneousness of the almost universal opinion that Christ will not come until the end of the Millennium. Irving clearly viewed Lacunza as a premillenialist and apparently it was the foundation for his own premillenial pretribulation rapture doctrine, which he wrote of only four years later.

The witting and unwitting seminary graduates then introduced their new Christian theology into the Protestant churches throughout the world. This new theology is the basis for the Left Behind series of 16 religious novels, that have sold more than 65 million copies. The Left Behind series of books are also very popular movies that are heavily promoted in churches throughout the world. Tens of millions of Christians were executed by the Roman Catholic Church during the dark ages because those brave witnesses for Christ believed that the pope was the antichrist. In fact, one of the foundational principles of the Protestant reformation was that the pope is the antichrist. This view is amply supported by the Holy Scriptures.

The idea was to point the attention of Protestants to a future antichrist and away from the antichrist sitting on the throne in Rome. So the Jesuits tried to frame a new Christian eschatology that accomplished both concealing the antichrist and reestablishing the Jews to prominence in God prophetic plan. The Jesuits and their fellow travelers cobbled together a disjointed patchwork of bible passages that served to lay the groundwork for this new futurist/Zionist theology.

We will be discussing Chapter 4 out of Edward Hendrie book "Solving the Mystery of BABYLON THE GREAT" Kabbalah and Talmud. The Jewish studies in Rome led to inculcation of Jewish doctrine into the Roman church. The Kabbalah and Talmud are at the root of the Jewish doctrine. Kabbalah is a Hebrew word, which literally translated means tradition. Nesta Webster in her classic book Secret Societies and Subversive Movements explained how the Jewish theology of the Kabbalah was introduced into the Roman Catholic Church by Pope Sixtus IV (1471-1484) . "It was likewise from a Florentine Jew, Alemanus or Datylus that Pico della Mirandola, the fifteenth-century mystic, received instructions in the Cabala and imagined that he had discovered in it the doctrines of Christianity. This delighted Pope Sixtus IV, who thereupon ordered Cabalistic writings to be translated into Latin for the use of divinity students". Jesus criticized the Pharisees for their religious traditions. Those traditions were oral traditions at that time. Later they were memorialized in the Talmud and the Kabbalah. The Kabbalah and the Talmud today span numerous volumes. Jesus called the pharisees hypocrites, who masqueraded as religious men, but who were in reality irreligious frauds.

They are hearing an anti-gospel. The English word anti is a preposition derived from the same word in Greek. It means against, opposite, contrary, or in place of. The antichrist is against Christ, and at the same time he seeks to replace Christ. He also seeks to replace the gospel of Christ with a contrary gospel, an anti-gospel. The word gospel literally means God spell (God's word). In order to recognize and guard against the influence of the false gospel, it is important for the reader to be like the noble Bereans and check everything that is said against God's word found in the Holy Bible. See Acts 17:10-11. The devil is a very subtle liar who opposes God and his gospel. See Genesis 3:1; John 8:44. The resulting false gospel is premised on the idea that all men are freed from the bondage to sin and therefore have the ability to choose of their own free will whether or not to believe in Jesus. Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. This is not a dispute over a fine distinction that is only of interest to theologians. This issue goes to the heart of the gospel. It goes to the heart of salvation. It goes to the heart of who Jesus is. The bible states that man is spiritually dead and must be born again by the power of God. Ephesians 2:1-6; John 3:3-8. God has elected certain to be saved by his grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 1:3-9; 2:8-10. He imbues his elect with the faith needed to believe in Jesus. Romans 3:21-26; John 1:12-13. The devil's false gospel reverses the order of things. Under the false gospel preached in most churches, Jesus does not choose his elect for salvation; instead, all men have a free will to choose Jesus. Instead of God choosing man, man chooses God. This mythology is not supported by the bible. It is at the heart of a devilish conspiracy against God and man. The free will anti-gospel denies the sovereignty of God and blasphemously makes God out to be a liar. The free will gospel is a heathen gospel that has a god, but that god is not the God of the bible. The calling of the true Jesus is effectual; all who are chosen for salvation will believe in him. John 6:37-40. The free will gospel has a false Jesus who only offers the possibility of salvation, with no assurance. The scriptures warn about such a false Jesus. 2 Corinthians 11:4. The free will gospel denies the total depravity of man and the sovereign election of God. The true gospel has a Jesus who loves only his children and saves them for eternity in heaven. The devilish anti-gospel has a false Jesus who loves everyone in the world, but this false Jesus casts most of those whom he loves in hell, to suffer in torments for eternity in a lake of fire. The true Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 7 that he never loved those who are sent to hell. I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:23. See also Romans 9:21-23. The true God of the bible saves those whom he has elected for salvation and he condemns those whom he has elected for condemnation. See Romans 9. The false Jesus of the anti-gospel looks on helplessly while the sinner who is spiritually dead in trespasses and sin decides whether to believe in him. The true Jesus preordained and chose his elect to believe in him before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:4-5. The false Jesus is an impotent Jesus, who must yield to the desires of men; if men decide after they are saved that they would rather reject Jesus and take their chances with being thrown into hell, they can forfeit their salvation. The false Jesus is powerless to stop them. The true Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings, who is able to preserve his elect and will lose none of those whom he has chosen for salvation. John 10:27-29.

A Book review "Where did the Towers go? author Judy Wood. We must observe the actual evidence, carefully. But how do we do that through a preconceived, conditioned, and biased perspective? One way might be to wipe the slate clean and begin with a new vocabulary, a new language, including a visual language. This may require that we ignore images that we have long been conditioned to react to in very predictable ways. In the chapters that follow, I have purposely given each of the observed phenomena a new and unique name, using a new vocabulary that does not come preloaded with familiar connotations and therefore biased interpretations. Referring to particulate-filled air as "smoke" causes the biased or pre-conditioned observer to think of "fire" as the cause of what is seen. Instead, then, let us use a very generic term(perhaps even an elementary-level term) that we would not normally use in this situation, but one that describes solely and only what we do see, with no other weighted or pre-supposed meaning. Let's use not the word "smoke" but the word "fume." A glossary of terms is provided at the end of this book for convenience.

Richard Bennett spent twenty-one years as a RC priest in Trinidad, WI. After a serious accident in 1972, he began to study seriously the Bible. We hear a lot about Christians engaging in dialogue with other groups and religions: Muslims, sodomites, Catholics, etc. But should a Bible-believer do this? What is this dialogue everybody wants us to engage in? When we take a closer look, what they want is not really dialogue it adialectic, a very old Jesuit principle. Dialectic involves three aspects: thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. These sound complex, but thesis and antithesis are simply names for two opposites. Synthesis is a word for the compromise people reach in order to come to some form of agreement. Here's the problem: what if the thesis happens to be the truth? If one side is the truth, then the other side �¢antithesis has to be a lie. But what is the synthesis? Any compromise between truth and a lie is also a lie. So, actually, if you talk about which side wins, the lie wins out, because a lie is always a lie. It never becomes the truth. Truth compromised is still a lie. But before the eyes of God, everyone loses in this kind of dialogue, or dialectic. What we need is truth, not compromise. We need to persuade the other side to the truth of our side. Then everybody wins and there's no compromise. Look at the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. They're standing up there by themselves, because everybody else is fallen down on their faces in front of this giant idol. So the king calls them out by name and says in effect, Didn't you hear my decree? I don't care who you are; when you hear the music, you fall down just like everybody else! The three could have said, You know, we could just bow our heads down. That will be good enough. But then they would be just as bad as everybody else. They might as well be on their faces in front of the idol. Tilting your head is still compromise. It's still not what God commanded in His word. Instead, they said, If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up (Daniel 3:17-18). Thesis stayed thesis, and antithesis stayed antithesis. There was no synthesis. In fact, the king in his fury commanded them to heat the fiery furnace seven times hotter, so hot that his mightiest men, who threw them in, died of their burns. But God protected those three. And even if He hadn't, they just would've gone to meet Him. But this time He came to meet them! And when they came out they didn't even have the smell of fire or the stink of idolatry on them. They stayed with their thesis. They had no guilt of compromise. For them there was no synthesis. It didn't matter whether they were afraid or not, because that was not the point. It didn't matter. What mattered was their refusal to compromise. And God completely honored it. This is why dialogue will never work when you have the truth. Dialogue only works with two people who don't have the truth. One lie synthesized into another lie comes up with a compromise lie. What's the difference? We must stand firm and persuade others of the truth of God's words and doctrines, perfectly preserved in the King James Bible. We must never compromise His truth with the Devil's or man's lies

John Wesley's Arminian teachings had inspired the founders of The Holiness Movement, who introduced into the Christian community the idea that "sinless perfection" or "entire sanctification" can be achieved in this life through a second work of grace or a "second blessing." In time this would become identified with "The Baptism of the Holy Spirit" and the speaking with tongues of Pentecostalism and the Charismatic Movement. In his book The Holiness Pentecostal Movement in the United States, pentecostal historian Vinson Synan's description of the arrival of the "first wave" of Pentecostalism (preceding the Charismatic second and the current signs and wonders' "third wave") is instructive: "Although the Pentecostal Movement began in the United States, itself a significant fact, its theological and intellectual origins were British. The basic premises of the movement's theology were constructed by John Wesley in the Eighteenth century. As a product of Methodism, the Holiness-Pentecostal movement traces its lineage through the Wesleys to Anglicanism and thence to Roman Catholicism." "This theological heritage places the Pentecostals outside the Calvinistic, Reformed tradition which culminated in the Baptist and Presbyterian movements in the United States. The basic Pentecostal theological position might be described as Arminian, perfectionistic, premillenial and charismatic." Evan Roberts and the Welsh Revival At the beginning of the twentieth century once again there was much talk of "revival". Historian R.C. Wetzel notes that in 1904, "Evan Roberts began the Welsh Revival." This comment seems perceptive, for it is unlikely that this year long aberration was begun by GOD, marked as it was with a "de-emphasis on preaching, interruptions by worshippers, stress on the baptism of the spirit, and Spirit guidance (and) Lay preachers such as Evan Roberts at center-stage ..." This appears to have been a thoroughly Arminian event. Its historical significance lies in the fact that it was the precursor to, and has been linked with, the "Pentecostal Revival" which began at Azusa Street in Los Angeles in 1906 and is said by many to be continuing today. The Dictionary of Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements records that "in 1904-05 reports came to Los Angeles of a substantial revival that was taking place in Wales, largely associated with the work of Evan Roberts. In Chicago, 'Holiness' publisher, S.B. Shaw was the author of The Great Revival in Wales (1905), which was widely read in the Los Angeles area in 1905 and 1906. People who read the book began to establish cottage prayer meetings where they sought God for a similar revival among the churches of Los Angeles."
In the first half of the nineteenth century the Holiness Movement swept through both America and Europe. This new revivalism was a victory of pragmatism over the authority of scripture. It was a further erosion of earlier Calvinistic beliefs, especially the doctrines of election and predestination. The so-called "Second Great Awakening," which sprang out of the Holiness Movement in the late 1820s and the 1830s, was, as author Michael Bunker has suggested, "really just a Jesuitical backlash against the staunch Grace doctrine focus of the real Great Awakening. "Reacting against the pervasive Calvinism of the Great Awakening, the successors of that great movement of God's Spirit turned from God to humans (to a man-centered gospel) from the preaching of objective content, namely Christ and Him crucified, to the emphasis on getting a person to 'make a decision." Charles Finney Charles Grandison Finney (1792-1875) was the man who created the "decisionism" concept in evangelism. where a person is led through an"altar call" and is pressured to "decide for Christ." There are no "altar calls" and there is no "decisionism" to be found in the New Testament. The Bible merely declares that after the preaching of the true Gospel, "many believed." In his day, Finney was extremely influential. He still is. He has been described as "the icon of modern evangelicalism." Moral Majority leader Jerry Falwell said that Finney "was one of my heroes and a hero to many evangelicals, including Billy Graham." Finney ministered in the wake of the "Second Awakening" and began conducting revivals in upstate New York. One of his most popular sermons was Sinners Bound to Change Their Own Hearts. This was the theological understanding from which he developed his new methods. One result of Finney's revivalism was the division of Presbyterians in Philadelphia and New York into Arminian and Calvinistic factions. His "New Measures" brought about a whole new era of Christian evangelism. They included the "anxious seat" and "mourner's bench," which led to the "invitation" or "altar call", the now common practice of calling sinners to come to the front to receive Christ. He instituted emotional tactics that led to fainting and weeping, and other "excitements," as Finney and his followers called them. Asermon preached by Pennsylvania Pastor Fred Zaspel, focusing upon the impact of Finney and his new revivalism, provides a solemn warning about what is happening in the Arminian dominated church today. "He could work a crowd to fever pitch and to fanaticism ('excitements') of various forms faintings, shakings, weepings and so on; and all for good reason! Decisions for Christ were made! Sinners made profession of faith! This is the foundation of Finneyism, which lives today. Revival can be brought to town in a briefcase. It is not a supernatural work of God; it is simply the right use of the constituted means. And this is the fountain of his 'new measures' which are so well known to us today. But again it does work. It gets results. It gets people to make 'decisions.' And so how could it possibly be wrong? Should we allow some tradition and prescribed ideals to interfere with success? Finney himself writes with considerable embarrassment shortly after these 'Western revivals' were over. The results, it turned out, were not what they appeared. Few contacts 'stuck.' The area where Finney had been and where such excitement had been generated was now 'burnt ground' unable to be burned by the gospel again. People were turned off like never before. Their 'decisions' were spurious, and now they were more hostile to the gospel than they had been before. "This then is the fountainhead of much modern Christianity. Today's 'church growth' seminars insist that theology gets in the way of seeing sinners saved. Instruction is given in 'the art of appeal' and 'the effective altar call' and 'how to get decisions' and 'the use of story in preaching', sad stories, emotional manipulation, seventeen stanzas of the invitation hymn. In all this we reflect our debt to Charles Finney. In some circles it is the 'barking' and screaming and roaring and laughing, the gibberish of tongues, and other rather strange things that work. All this is the outgrowth of Finney, whose theology of manipulation 'got results'. With him. a new era of Christian evangelism was born which lives strong today."

The Revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685 led to the martyrdom of many members of the French Reformed Church. As the nineteenth-century American historian John Dowling records, "King Louis XIV of France, a bigoted papist, at the persuasions of LaChaise, his Jesuit confessor publicly revoked that protecting edict, and thus let loose the floodgates of popish cruelty upon the defenceless protestants ... In the cruelties that followed, the policy of Rome appeared to be changed. She had tried, in innumerable instances, the effect of persecution unto death, and the results of the St Bartholomew's Massacre had shown that it was not effectual in eradicating the heresy. Now her plan was by torture, annoyance, and inductions of various kinds suggested by a brutal ingenuity, 'to wear out the saints of the Most High."' Engravings of Papal Medals struck in the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth centuries by triumphant "Vicars of Christ" illustrate the malevolent spirit masquerading as the "Holy Spirit" which persecuted the French Protestant Huguenots. Special commemorative medal struck by Pope Gregory XIII ( 1572-85) "When news of the St Bartholomew's Day Massacre reached the Vatican there was jubilation! Cannons roared bells rung and a special commemorative medal was struck to honor the occasion! The Pope commissioned Italian artist Vasari to paint a mural of the Massacre which still hangs in the Vatican!" Henry IV adopted the Roman Catholic faith, but issued the Edict of Nantes (1598), which both recognized Catholicism as the official religion and gave the Huguenots certain rights, such as freedom of worship. Under Louis XIV, the clergy regained its influence, and the Huguenots were again persecuted. A medal was struck to commemorate the massacre of the Huguenots in the Cevennes, one of the persecutions directed by Louis XIV against Protestants during this period. This wave of persecutions eventually led finally to the total revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685, which destroyed the civil and religious liberties of the Huguenots. This medal, executed in Rome by the Italian medallist Giovanni Hamerani (1673), commemorated the massacre of the Huguenots in the Cevennes, one of the persecutions directed by Louis XIV against the Protestants during this period. It appears to celebrate rather than criticise this massacre, with Religion guiding the slaughter.18 These engravings of Popish medals, triumphantly glorying in massacre and slaughter, reveal that Antichrist spirit which deserves the thoughtful (and prayerful) attention of all who profess faith in Christ; especially in this age where "evangelicals" are seeking reunification with the Church of Rome. The discerning reader will note that the acclaimed victory of the Antichrist Papacy was over Calvinism or the doctrines of Free & Sovereign Grace. So-called Arminian Protestants have never been a threat to the Papacy. She has no cause to fear her own spiritual offspring. When a Pope strikes a medal celebrating "Arminianism overthrow," we might have reason to believe that the Leopard has changed its spots; but that shall never happen. The house divided against itself shall not stand."

This was merely a subterfuge or, in upto- date language, "spin." In reality, the purpose was to exonerate the church from its widespread identification as the Antichrist of Scripture and to attack and condemn the doctrines of the Reformation, particularly the doctrines of Free and Sovereign Grace. It declared these to be "anathema." Unlike the other councils and Synods we have considered in this section, the decrees of this "ecumenical council" have no validity whatsoever for saints of God, for Trent was an instrument of the Papacy to counter the Reformation. It was set up "hot on the heels" of the Roman church's Inquisition, which was instituted by Pope Paul III in 1542 to combat Protestantism. Looking again at Trent, its decrees, and dogmas, we can demonstrate to Arminians that they can find their cherished semi-Pelagian views on free will enshrined in the decrees of this notorious council. Whilst Trent officially condemned the teachings of Pelagius, it succeeded in tacitly restating them, employing the "ingenious disingenuousness" and theological double talk which has been the hallmark of the Jesuit Order. The same equivocation and prevarication displayed by Pelagius and Arminius were to be found in abundance in this Council. From start to finish it was characterised by corruption, bribery deceit, and duplicity. Even its claim to be called "Ecumenical Council" was misleading. The Jesuits had seen to it that it was packed with placemen and cronies (closely resembling the First Vatican Council in 1870, which voted through Papal infallibility). The vast majority of bishops in attendance were Italians, many of them from a diocese especially created by the Pope so that they would represent his views and ensure that he would get his way, which of course he did. The canons of the Council of Trent are still binding on all Catholics to this day and are part of the Dogma of the Church of Rome. They oppose the core beliefs of the Reformation on free grace and justification and stress that salvation is impossible without adherence to these canons. They proclaim the Arminian view, free will being exalted over the Sovereign Grace of God. It is perhaps worth taking note of the irony that many who subscribe to these Tridentine views assert that "Calvinism" has its roots in Romanism, when their own Arminian soteriology was so firmly affirmed at this notorious council of the ancient enemy of the saints of God. We make reference to Trent for another reason. It proved to be a watershed in the rapid ascendancy of Arminianism to its place of prominence in the church of our day. We shall see how both Roman Catholic monarchs and Anglo-Catholic Arminian prelates took the Canons of Trent as a licence to disenfranchise, persecute, torture, and murder the true saints of God after the manner of the Papal Inquisition.
Pelagius and Semi-Pelagianism the Forerunner of Arminianism There is nothing new under the sun. Essentially the Arminian controversy has been a re-run of a similar controversy which, more than a thousand years earlier, was waged between the British monk Pelagius and Augustine, Bishop of Hippo, as the early Church sought to formulate its theology. Pelagius arrived in Rome at the dawn of the fifth century and spent most of his life in that city, studying, writing and teaching theology. He began asserting the self-governing ability of man before God. He denied original sin and the depraved state of mankind as well as the absolute requirement of God's Sovereign Grace in the salvation of His saints. Pelagius was condemned as a heretic by the Roman Church and the modified form of his heresy, semi-Pelegianism, was also condemned at the Council of Orange in 529. Semi-Pelagianism, the fore-runner of Arminianism, essentially teaches that humanity is tainted by sin, but not to the extent that we cannot cooperate with God's grace on our own in essence, partial depravity as opposed to total depravity. However, the same Scriptures that refute Pelagianism also refute semi-Pelagianism. Romans 3:10-18 most definitely does not describe humanity as only being partially tainted by sin. The Bible clearly teaches that without God drawing a person, we are incapable of cooperating with God's grace. "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him" Nevertheless the semi-Pelagian view of man's ability to cooperate and to possess inherent or conferred righteousness is widely prevalent today. As R.C. Sproul writes, " the basic assumptions of this view persisted throughout church history to reappear in Medieval Catholicism, Renaissance Humanism, Socinianism, Arminianism, and modern Liberalism. The seminal thought of Pelagius survives today, not as a trace of tangential influence, but is pervasive in the modern church. Indeed the modern church is held captive by it."
Eventually his followers, known as the Remonstrants, petitioned the Government of Holland with a five-point Remonstrance, which was a development of the core teachings of Arminius. It was systematised and published in January 1610 by Jan Uytenbogaert and Simon Episcopius, both former students of Arminius. They led forty-three fellow ministers in introducing their document The Arminian Articles of Remonstrance to the ecclesiastical authorities. Their objective was to bring about the convening of a synod, which would overthrow the Doctrines of Grace, which had been freely preached since the Reformation, and make the teachings of Arminius the official doctrine of the Reformed Churches in all of Europe. They were successful in the first part of their endeavour; a General Synod at Dordrecht (Dort) was called in 1618, and representatives attended it from all of the Reformed Churches in Europe, including those from England. The following is a summary of the five Remonstrance articles: Free Wilt or Human Ability Arminius believed that the fall of man was not total, maintaining that there is enough virtue in man to enable him to choose to accept Jesus Christ unto salvation. Conditional Election Arminius taught that election is based on the foreknowledge of God as to who would believe. Man's "act of faith" is the "condition" governing his being elected to eternal life, since God foresaw him exercising his "free will" in response to Jesus Christ. Universal Atonement Arminius held that Christ died to save all men, but only in a potential fashion. Christ's death enabled God to pardon sinners, but only on condition that they believed. Resistible Grace Arminius believed that since God wants all men to be saved, He sends the Holy Spirit to draw all men to Christ. But since man has absolute "free will", he is able to resist God's will for his life. Therefore God's will to save all men can be frustrated by the finite will of man. Arminius also taught that man exercises his own will first, and then is born again. Falling from Grace If man cannot be saved by God unless it is man's will to be saved, then man cannot continue in salvation unless he continues to will to be saved. In order to deal with these five articles of Arminianism, a conference was convened in 1618, which became known as the Synod of Dort. It was no convention of novices or of weaklings that met at Dort in 1618. Rev. J.A. Mcleod, Principal of the Free Church of Scotland College, Edinburgh, described the Synod thus.
Chapter 11 - The Origins of Arminianism James (Jacob) Arminius (1560-1609) was a Dutch theologian who studied and taught the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ that had been rediscovered and proclaimed by the Reformation. Subsequently he changed his position and began to preach and teach a mancentred gospel. Calvin, Luther, Cranmer, Latimer, Zwingli, and Knox, among many other great preachers, taught the centrality of the grace of God and His gift of faith alone, for salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. This Christ-centred gospel was, and is "the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth." In this section we set out to study the mancentred gospel that has become standard in many parts of what is still called "Evangelicalism." This man-centred message sees the receiving of the Gospel as deriving from a person's own faith. It assumes wrongly that salvation originates with the will of man by his choice or decision and it is finally to be positioned in the human heart. The Scriptures make clear that salvation originates with God, not to be within the human heart but to be "in Christ." For example, the Apostle Paul states in his own testimony " that I may win Christ and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith." How then did this mancentred salvation come into the Christian church? As we shall seek to show there has been a great falling away from the truths that were proclaimed at the time of the Reformation. Many modern evangelicals, in sharing their gospel, publicly offer "invitations" such as, "Accept Jesus into your heart", "Invite Jesus into your life" or Make a decision for Christ." Like Roman Catholicism, such a gospel looks for salvation in the human heart, and is thought to be brought about by man's own choice.

In two hundred Years the Roman Catholic Church in the United States has increased from the smallest to the largest church in the nation, claiming in 1948 the allegiance of some twenty-six million Americans. The American branch of the Roman faith is now almost three times as large as the largest single Protestant denomination in the United States, the Methodist Church, and it claims about eighteen per cent of the total population. It contributes more money to the hierarchy at Rome than all the other national branches of the Catholic Church put together.
Probably Not Phase of our life is in greater need of candid discussion than the relationship of the Roman Catholic Church to American Institutions, and certainly no important factor in our life has been more consistently neglected by responsible writers. The Catholic issue is not an easy subject to discuss objectively because most Americans have automatically accepted their attitudes on the subject from their parents, and they do no want those attitudes disturbed. They are Catholic or they are not Catholic. If they are Catholic, they tend to view their own Church with favor, and its critics with suspicion. If they are not Catholic, they tend to reverse the process and view all distinctively Catholic policies with doubt. American Catholics and American Non-Catholics both tend to leave the discussion of religious differences to denominational bigots; and many Americans have never had an opportunity to hear a reasoned and temperate discussion of the place of Catholic power in our national life.

The Foundations Under Attack, The "Roots of Apostasy" Author Michael de Semlyen The Historical View of Prophecy and Antichrist There are two great truths that stand out in the preaching that brought about the Protestant Reformation â?? the "just shall live by faith"l (not by the works of Romanism or any other religion) and "the Papacy is the Antichrist revealed in Scripture." It was a message for Christ and against Antichrist. The entire Reformation rested on this twofold testimony. In losing the second, unquestionably we have done injury to the first; ecumenical Christianity and "new evangelicalism" provide abundant testimony to this. Iain Murray in his book The Puritan Hope described the Reformers as "unanimous in their beliefâ?? that the Papal system is both the"man of sin" and the Babylonian whore of which Scripture forewarns. Rome was the great Antichrist, and so firmly did this belief become established that it was not until the nineteenth century that evangelicals seriously questioned it.

If anyone wants to see the world the Jesuits want to impose, then just read 1984. As Orwell wrote: "if you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face-forever". This does not have to come to pass, but it will unless asses and seats part company. It is already doing so-by the day. 1984, written in 1948, is described as a political satire, but it's not. It is a political prophecy and there is no way that Orwell could have been so accurate without a deep understanding of the way the world was going, even possibly inside knowledge of what was planned. Orwell had many contacts in political circles and mixed with the elite from his days at the exclusive Eton College, where royalty is educated. It is far from impossible that he picked up the threads of what was intended to be. Orwell also worked for the BBC when it was under the control of ministry of Information, a wonderful Orwellian title in itself for an organization created to communicate dis-information. Orwell (real name Eric Blair) described a global society of total control in which the people were not even allowed to have thoughts that disagreed with the authorities. They were subject to the Thought Police who dealt with anyone guilty of thought-crime. In the Orwellian world, the people were not allowed a personal life and everything they did, or thought, was controlled. The government, or Part, was headed by "BB", or Big Brother, who appeared on posters everywhere with the words: "Big Brother is watching you". In the smoke and mirrors society that Orwell describes, Big Brother himself could have been a myth to hide the real controllers, who are controlled by forces that the public have no idea exist. Orwell's Big Brother may not even have existed, either, but the people were sold the story of his battle to save them from the terrorist, Emmanuel Goldstein, the alleged prime threat to the 'free world'. Goldstein had been in league with Big Brother during the revolution, the story goes, but he was said to have become a major part of the resistance Brotherhood (al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden and whoever the authorities blame next for their own terrorism). Orwell implies that Goldstein, too, either does not exist, or was eliminated, but as long as the people believe in his existence and his complicity in terrorism they would support the actions taken by the government to protect them from his terror.
THERE IS A UNIVERSAL legal tradition that requires acts of a governmental authority to be marked by a seal - otherwise the acts are not authentic. Typically, a seal discloses the character of the authority it represents by means of an image which can be, and usually is, amplified by some sentence, phrase, or word. The first seal of the United States of America, designed to authenticate all governmental actions under the Declaration of Independence, was presented to Congress in August 1776. Created by an official committee consisting of Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson, the seal illustrates an event based on Exodus 14:19-27. It is a cameo of Moses leading the Israelites through the parted waters while a chariot-bound Pharaoh, wielding a sword and wearing the crown of tyranny, perishes in the maelstrom. Framing the picture are the words REBELLION TO TYRANTS IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD." When I first became aware of this seal many years ago, I thought it demonstrated how intensely biblical was the faith of the founding fathers. But once I began discerning the hidden makers of American nationalism, my thinking changed radically. I now see this seal, despite the biblical glow of the committee that designed it, as the profession of an intensely Roman Catholic faith. For there is a great disparity between biblical faith and Roman Catholic faith. Indeed, this disparity was the crux of the Protestantism which Pope Paul III commissioned the Society of Jesus to extirpate. Biblical faith regards the Bible alone, sola scriptura, apart from any other source, to be a sufficient and infallible rule of life. In the Bible own words: All scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for teaching, for counseling, for correction, and for training in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, completely outfitted to perform good works (2 Timothy 3:16). Roman Catholic faith, on the other hand, while agreeing that the Bible is God-breathed, considers scripture neither infallible nor sufficient in itself as a rule of life, unless so interpreted by the Magisterium (the teaching authority of the Church), and then so pronounced by the infallible pope. At Paul' III Council of Trent (1545-63), which we have learned was closely supervised over its eighteen years of existence by the Jesuits, it was decreed that the Magisterium receives and venerates, with a feeling of piety and reverence all the books of the Old and New Testaments, also the traditions [italics mine], whether they relate to faith or morals, as having been dictated either orally by Christ or by the Holy Ghost, and preserved in the Catholic Church in unbroken succession. Over the centuries, Roman Catholic faith in Scripture, as modified by tradition, as pronounced by the Magisterium and pope, has bound millions of consciences to a thousand doctrines not found in scripture and either unknown or rejected by the apostles and early Christian fathers. The 1776 seal agrees with Roman Catholic teaching as much as it disagrees with the Bible. Whereas the caption Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God is found nowhere in Scripture, it is the cornerstone of Bellarminian liberation theology. The Bible never condones rebellion, not even rebellion to those tyrants under whom God own people, the Israelites, were obliged to suffer continuously. When Scripture mentions rebellion, it is almost always referring to the disobedience of the Israelites toward their God Yahweh. The seventeenth chapter of Proverbs teaches that the evil man seeks rebellion, and 1 Samuel 15:23 admonishes that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. The God of Scripture cannot be obeyed by evil-doing and witchcraft. He will not be honored in the breach. However, sacred tradition authorizes anything in the service of Rome Cum finis est licitus, etiam media sunt licita, the end justifies the means. Depicting rebellion as a salvational act, the 1776 seal further harmonizes with the Magisterium on how the sinful soul of man is saved from eternal punishment. The Magisterium concurs with the Bible that salvation is the free gift of God�¢??s grace, but adds the nonscriptutal teaching that salvation can be lost if good works are not performed through the sacred channels of Baptism, Confession, and the Mass. Scripture (Ephesians 2:8-10) says that Jesus Christ does not share his saviorhood with anyone or anything (You have been saved by grace through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one should boast), yet the Magisterium says that Christ is no savior without the sinner cooperation with the Church and its traditions.

There is but one God in the universe, He created the heavens, the earth, the seas, the fountains of water. He said the earth is mine and the fullness thereof. The Papacy is the idol of the world, John, Daniel, and Charles Carroll worshiped a man, a created thing and a very seriously wicked institution. They will be judged according to their works because they have no salvation in the Roman Catholic Church. Not only that no claim neither the pope nor the Carroll Family have any claim whatsoever to anything that God created. The smoke of their burning will ascend for ever and forever. They have long since been defeated, they were defeated before they ever were. I will no longer dwell on the importance of the Carroll Family with the establishment of our government. Our government is apostate today, our government is dictatorial today, our government is tyrannical today, because Rome claims it to be hers and she has no rightful claim to anything in God's creation. And those who harp incessantly about the Carroll Family are only lending legitimacy to the illegitimate claim of the Papacy and the Roman Catholic Church over our government.(the Carrolls are undone in American history) A government that was completely Protestant in the colonial period, a government that was put under a lid. My liberty, true liberty came from that protestant government (Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.) that has been overthrown by the Roman Catholic Church and the Papacy. We need a return to Protestantism not simply an acknowledge of the Carroll Family and what they did to our government. So where should the emphasis rightly belong? The Carroll Family, or Christ? We need a wide picture of history not just a myopic view of history. You(one critic) can criticize me until the cows come home, and you can preach the Carrolls till the cows come home, but in the divine order of things it doesn't make a whit of difference. But if you preach Protestantism Rome is set back on her heels. If you repudiate Vatican Council II you've restored Protestantism, if you condemn futurism you've restored Protestantism. That which gave us freedom and liberty during the colonial period. But you(one critic) would rather talk about the Carroll Family wouldn't you?
God's Method "We fundamentalists accept the authority of the Bible in all matters of faith and practice." I suggest we practice this method. Define what a word, whose definition has become cloudy through the changes in the English language, really means. I am not advising "running to the Greek." I am advising "running to the dictionary" and letting the text stand as it reads without the derogatory remarks about "archaic" words and "out of date usage." Let us respect God's text more than that. God has given us every word; we do well to accept them from Him as they are and not attempt to "improve" on them. As one great preacher said, "The Bible doesn't need to be re-written, it needs to be reread." I concur. Born again Christians are intended to be "Bible people." Are we not expected to read the Book we claim so loudly to believe? Upon receiving a lengthy letter from home, does a lonely soldier proceed to the third page to begin his reading? After page 3 does he "speed read" page 4, skip page 5, and read half of page 6? Does he attempt to understand the last page and then proceed to the first? Ridiculous isn't it? Yet it describes the Bible reading habits of many of God's people. Obviously, our soldier, so far away from the home he loves and the writer of his letter, is going to devour every word of this letter and upon finishing it, he will read it again -- every word. God sent us, His homesick soldiers, a "letter from home," yet we steadily refuse to read it. He didn't give us the whole Book just so that we could read the Psalms. We are expected to read Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy as well as John, Acts, and Romans. The same author who inspired I and II Corinthians placed every bit as much inspiration into I and II Chronicles. We are to read Malachi as well as Revelation. God has given us every word of the Bible. We are to start at the beginning and read every word! Upon reaching Revelation 22:21, we are not expected to quietly lay the Bible aside as if our work has been done. We are to begin afresh at Genesis 1:1. There are only two events that should stop a Christian from reading through his Bible continuously, cover to cover: death and the rapture. All other "reasons" are really weak excuses. We are to read the Book! Many exclaim, "But I can't understand it! There are portions with deep and difficult meanings." They find a difficult passage, give God approximately five minutes to deliver the answer, and then turn to a "better translation" or a Bible commentary for the answer. They are like the four-year-old child who wishes to drive a car. He sincerely wants to drive a car. His motive for wanting to drive may be pure. He believes that he can handle the job, and he wants the answer now. He will not only be refused permission to drive the car, but he as yet won't even be allowed on a bicycle. He cannot handle anything larger than a tricycle. As he matures, he will "graduate" to bigger and more complicated things. This is true with our English Bible. We begin to read through it for the first time and ask God a question, the answer of which we just cannot handle until our fourth or fifth or sixth time through. We sincerely want the answer. Our motive may be pure. We believe that we can handle the answer, and we want it now. God will not show us on our first time through the Bible what He has ready for us on our tenth or eleventh time through. We must grow, and there are no shortcuts. A shelf full of Bible commentaries and other translations is an attempt at a shortcut, but it will not work. I am not opposed to Bible commentaries. I am opposed to their de-emphasizing the Bible and replacing the Holy Spirit. I am in favor of intensifying our reading time in the only authority we have, the Authorized Version! But why the Authorized Version? Who says we have to use only this particular translation? Why couldn't some other version be perfect in English instead of the Authorized Version? To get the answers to these questions, we will have to take our hands off each other's throats long enough to examine the evidence which has come down to us through history. First, let's study where the manuscripts came from.
THE GUNPOWDERPLOT November 5, 1605 Eight years before the attempted Armada invasion, Jesuits were seditiously active plotting the overthrow of the English government. By using different disguises, aliases, and secret codes, to illegally slip in and out of England, Jesuit Robert Parson, in 1580, had led and then later organized a mission to bring other Jesuits into England to engage in a work of subversion. When the invasion failed, these masters of intrigue turned to another bizarre scheme. Known in your encyclopedia under the subject, the "Gunpowder Plot," - thirteen Catholic noblemen and five Jesuits formed a conspiracy devising a plan to explode 36 barrels of gunpowder in the cellar of the House of Lords and kill King James I, and members of Commons as they assembled for the opening of Parliament on 5 November 1605. Their plan was to blow up the Parliament building, and out of the chaos, incite the people into a full insurrection. From a near-by building, an under ground tunnel had been dug to the Parliament building,where they gained access and put in place 36 barrels of gunpowder. But before the date it was to be detonated, the explosives were discovered, leading to the arrest of all those involved. The noblemen, after becoming aware that the plot was known, united together, choosing to resist arrest by fighting. Five were killed in the ensuing battle, with the remaining eight being brought to trial, convicted, and executed. Of the five Jesuits involved, two escaped, one died in prison, and two were convicted and executed. These failures only became minor set-backs to the Jesuits, in their mechanical robot persistence to subdue all for Rome. But to the English government and people, each episode was a harsh and stark reality of the fanatical enemy among them; and the vigilant precautions needed to protect their freedoms from popish rule.
Where is God? IS there a being greater than we are? One who made all of these marvelous things that we have looked at? If there were a being greater than we, where would He be? We look to the ground. No, He is not there. We scan the ocean. He is not there either, for both of these are limited, and they could not contain so great a Being. Anything that could create the marvelous works that we find all around us could only come (and we look upward) from the seemingly unlimited sky! We look to the sky. Is there Something up there? Something that is watching us even now? Something that created this whole universe and set it in motion? But wait. If there is Something up there, if there is a Supreme Being, He must know us! He must know what is happening on this earth. He must know our problems and have the answers for them. And if this is so, and He sees our helpless state, He is indebted to us, His creatures. As our Creator, He must help us with our troubles, assist us through this life, and see to it that we find a way to reach Him. He must communicate.
Imagine for a moment that we are in a different time period. We have gone back thousands of years. There are no cars. There are no airplanes. There are no modern conveniences. We are in primitive times. We take a look around us. There is no Bible. We know nothing about the universe around us. We have no knowledge of God. We don't know how mankind got here. Then we look again. We see a seed fall from a tree and from the top of the soil, plant itself, tend to its self, raise itself up into a seedling and mature into a tree, only to repeat the cycle all over again. And we wonder. Then we go to the ocean. We study the tides and discover that they are used to clean the waters, making it impossible to support life without them. We look and ask ourselves, "Was this planned?" We look beneath the surface of the water, to the depths below. We find life. Strange creatures! Some which breathe water and some which breathe air like us. Some that spawn eggs. Some that give birth to living young. We see creatures of all different shapes and sizes. Some are very small. Some are so huge that they weigh many tons. Some go fishing with a worm attached to their own fishing pole. Some have no eyes. Some have their eyes out on stalks. Some carry lights with them. Some move very slowly. Some dart about almost too fast for our eyes to follow. Again, we wonder. How did this come into being? Then we look overhead. We see the birds. They fly yet are never taught. They move through the air with grace and precision. Their bones are hollow to give them the light weight suitable for flight. Their feathers all grow in the right places. They migrate to the same place every year. They possess innate abilities and characteristics required for their survival. And again we wonder. Could this "just happen?" Then we look at ourselves, at our bodies. We study the intricacies of the eye and how it works. We examine the complex mechanisms of the ear. We marvel at our ability to keep our balance; to speak; to walk. We look at the heart, that marvelous muscle whose valves know when to open and when to close. It starts functioning without our help and stops itself in spite of all we can do to prevent it. We look to the nervous system and the brain. How did all of this come about? Was it created by accidents? We put forth our questions to our contemporaries. They have no satisfactory answers.
'In recent centuries, millions of people came to this land to pursue their dream of building a future in freedom. I am confident that we can do this. 'Our world is facing a refugee crisis of a magnitude not seen since the Second World War. This presents us with great challenges and many hard decisions. On this continent, too, thousands of persons are led to travel north in search of a better life for themselves and for their loved ones, in search of greater opportunities. Is this not what we want for our own children? We must not be taken aback by their numbers, but rather view them as persons, seeing their faces and listening to their stories, trying to respond as best we can to their situation. To respond in a way which is always humane, just and fraternal. We need to avoid a common temptation nowadays: to discard whatever proves troublesome. Let us remember the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Mt 7:12). 'This Rule points us in a clear direction. Let us treat others with the same passion and compassion with which we want to be treated. Let us seek for others the same possibilities which we seek for ourselves. Let us help others to grow, as we would like to be helped ourselves. In a word, if we want security, let us give security; if we want life, let us give life; if we want opportunities, let us provide opportunities. The yardstick we use for others will be the yardstick which time will use for us. The Golden Rule also reminds us of our responsibility to protect and defend human life at every stage of its development.
'A century ago, at the beginning of the Great War, which Pope Benedict XV termed a "pointless slaughter," another notable American was born: the Cistercian monk Thomas Merton. He remains a source of spiritual inspiration and a guide for many people. In his autobiography he wrote: "I came into the world. Free by nature, in the image of God, I was nevertheless the prisoner of my own violence and my own selfishness, in the image of the world into which I was born. That world was the picture of Hell, full of men like myself, loving God, and yet hating him; born to love him, living instead in fear of hopeless self-contradictory hungers." Merton was above all a man of prayer, a thinker who challenged the certitudes of his time and opened new horizons for souls and for the Church. He was also a man of dialogue, a promoter of peace between peoples and religions. 'From this perspective of dialogue, I would like to recognize the efforts made in recent months to help overcome historic differences linked to painful episodes of the past. It is my duty to build bridges and to help all men and women, in any way possible, to do the same. When countries which have been at odds resume the path of dialogue - a dialogue which may have been interrupted for the most legitimate of reasons - new opportunities open up for all. This has required, and requires, courage and daring, which is not the same as irresponsibility. A good political leader is one who, with the interests of all in mind, seizes the moment in a spirit of openness and pragmatism. A good political leader always opts to initiate processes rather than possessing spaces (cf. Evangelii Gaudium, 222-223). 'Being at the service of dialogue and peace also means being truly determined to minimize and, in the long term, to end the many armed conflicts throughout our world. Here we have to ask ourselves: Why 4 are deadly weapons being sold to those who plan to inflict untold suffering on individuals and society? Sadly, the answer, as we all know, is simply for money: money that is drenched in blood, often innocent blood. In the face of this shameful and culpable silence, it is our duty to confront the problem and to stop the arms trade. 'Three sons and a daughter of this land, four individuals and four dreams: Lincoln, liberty; Martin Luther King, liberty in plurality and non-exclusion; Dorothy Day, social justice and the rights of persons; and Thomas Merton, the capacity for dialogue and openness to God.

On the one hand, the patriarch and lawgiver of the people of Israel symbolizes the need of peoples to keep alive their sense of unity by means of just legislation. On the other, the figure of Moses leads us directly to God and thus to the transcendent dignity of the human being. Moses provides us with a good synthesis of your work: you are asked to protect, by means of the law, the image and likeness fashioned by God on every human face. We now come to another highly interesting portion of American history, which you would be hard pressed to find in the history books: the part played by the Jesuits in the American Revolutionary War-the War of Independence, 1776-1783. We have seen the role of the Jesuits in the American Civil War. But what part,, if any, did they play in the earlier war that transformed America from a collection of independent States to a United States of America? The uninformed or partisan historians will tell us that this War was mainly, if not entirely, due to the arbitrary and "intolerable acts" of the British government, leading to the American Colonists desire to break with British rule. I will now venture to shed some light on this dimly reported aspect of American history-and offer you a very different, and we hope more correct view. That religion played a major role in the American Revolution is beyond dispute. In 1776, at the time of the Declaration of Independence, there were little over twenty-three priests in all, and the next highest authority was the vicar apostolic in London, who had jurisdiction over the British colonies and satellites in America. The American Revolutionary War of Independence soon changed that. The reason there were so few Catholics and so many more Protestants was because of the foundation of the great democracy that is today called the United States of America was laid when millions of European Protestants fled the oppression of the Catholic Church in Europe to seek freedom of conscience and religion in the mostly uninhabited wilderness of North America. In the main the settlers were resolved not to duplicate in the New World what they had fled from on the old continent. These settlers felt that the pope, as a foreign ruler, should not be allowed to meddle in the politics or laws of America as they suspected that would render it difficult for immigrants, especially Catholics, to be fully loyal to the new country and to its fledging republican values. Naturally, there was a fear of Roman Catholics-not unlike the fear many Americans today have of Muslim fundamentalists. After all, these early Protestant pilgrims had recently escaped the hands of their Catholic compatriots. In those days people took their Catholicism seriously! So much so that several states passed laws regulating the activities of Roman Catholics. For example, in 1647 a Massachusetts statute declared that every priest was an: "incendiary and disturber of the public peace and safety, and an enemy of...true Christian religion..." The early American settlers suspected that the Pope was seeking to meddle in the affairs of the United States-to undermine its republican values which they said was evidenced by the oath that every Catholic Bishop was required to take: "I will to the utmost of my power see out and oppose schismatics, heretics, and the enemies of our Sovereign Lord (the pope) and his successors." However, the period following the restoration of the Jesuits in 1814 saw a tremendous growth in their numbers and influence in America, as evidenced by the large number of Jesuit colleges and universities established on that continent in that century-twenty-two of the Society's twenty-eight universities.

Historians have christened the thirteenth century the Age of Faith and termed the eighteenth century the Age of Reason. The twentieth century was called many, things: the Atomic Age, the Age of Inflation, the Age of the Tyrant, the Age of Aquarius. But the modern age deserves one name more than the others: the Age of Irrationalism.
There are two great truths that stand out in the preaching that brought about the Protestant Reformation-the "just shall live by faith"l (not by the works of Romanism or any other religion) and "the Papacy is the Antichrist revealed in Scripture." It was a message for Christ and against Antichrist. The entire Reformation rested on this fwofold testimony. In losing the second, unquestionably we have done injury to the first; ecumenical Christianity and "new evangelicalism" provide abundant testimony to this. Iain Murray in his book The Puritan Hope described the Reformers as "unanimous in their beliefl' that the Papal system is both the"man of sin" and the Babylonian whore of which Scripture forewarns. Rome was the great Antichrist, and so firmly did this belief become established that it was not until the nineteenth century that evangelicals seriously questioned it. Mctorian Bible scholar Dr. Grattan Guinness ringingly declared, "Thousands of martyrdoms have sealed the testimony against the Papal antichrist, and on this testimony rests the Reformation. To reject it is to reject the foundation of the noblest and divinest work which has been wrought in this world since the day of Pentecost."
A vigilant Christian organisation CRIB, Catholic Research Information Bureau, sounded a strong and sober warning note; 'Don't be deceived. The Roman Church is like a chameleon. Tolerant, friendly, highly moral and authoritative in Protestant England and America; but where there is a Roman Catholic majority, she is very different and no friend of freedom, always blending in with the landscape, but never quite what she seems to be.' H.G. Wells observed in his book, Crux Ansata that, 'Roman Catholicism presents many faces to the world, but everywhere it is systematic in its fight against freedom.' The Jesuits, who originally implemented the Counter-Reformation by decree of the Council of Trent, are seen as continuing to do so in the present century with increasing success. Once counsellors to kings such as James II and Louis XIV, who held 'divine rights', the Jesuits very often master-minded the dramatic events of history by scheming and prompting backstage. Now they are making their comeback in positions of influence among our institutions. Many of them have been able to come out in the open, since in the current climate of spiritual indifference, they have little to hide. However, placed in key positions in religious broadcasting, in educational establishments (including Britain's top schools), even in evangelistic undertakings, they have been re-instated in a way that just decades ago would have seemed unthinkable. At the head of the Society of Jesus is the Superior General, the supreme ruler over the Jesuits, often called 'The Black Pope.' The full extent of his power and influence over the Papacy can be known to very few, but it is more than possible that often it exceeds that of the Pope himself. Notorious in the past, expelled from every country in Europe and banned from residence in England until 1902, the Jesuits have often been described as the 'secret army of the Papacy.' The preface to Edmund Paris' book The Secret History of the Jesuits includes a warning to the church which has been sounded many times in relation to the threat posed by the Counter-Reformation; 'The order of the Society of Jesus was founded by Ignatius Loyola to secretly accomplish two major goals for the Roman Catholic Institution. The first was to obtain universal political power; the second, to establish the universal church. The Reformation had seriously damaged the Roman system. The way forward, apart from the Inquisition, was by infiltration and penetration into every section of life, with the aim of enforcing the canons and doctrines and temporal power of the Pope. To that end Jesuits went to work, secretly infiltrating all Protestant groups, including families, places of work, hospitals, schools, colleges etc. Today the Jesuits have almost completed that mission. The Bible puts local church government into the hands of a godly pastor but the effect of Jesuit activity over the years has been to remove that power to the denominational Headquarters, to temporalise the church and thus to push Protestant denominations into the arms of the Vatican.' Jude 4 Rev. J.A. Wylie, in The History of Protestantism, described the Jesuits thus: â??There was no tongue they could not speak, and no creed they could not profess, and thus there was no people among whom they might not sojourn and no church whose membership they might not enter and whose functions they might not discharge. They could execrate the Pope with the Lutheran, and swear the Solemn League with the Covenanter. The Order of Jesus is never more formidable than when it appears to be least so. It is when Jesuits are stripped of all external means of doing harm that they devise the vastest schemes, and execute them with the most daring courage.â?? (Revd J.A. Whoever takes delight in the religion and worship of popery will be eternally lost in the world to come. "If you reject it, (popery) you must expect to incur every kind of danger, even to lose your lives, but it is far better to be exposed to such perils in this world than to keep silence! So long as I live, I will denounce to my brethren the sore and the plague of Babylon for fear that many who are with us should fall back like the rest into the bottomless pit." THE THREE WALLS OF THE ROMANISTS The Romanists, with great adroitness, have built three walls about them, behind which they have hitherto defended themselves in such wise that no one has been able to reform them; and this has been the cause of terrible corruption throughout all Christendom. First, when pressed by The temporal power, they have made decrees and said that the temporal power has no jurisdiction over them, but, on the other hand, that the spiritual is above the temporal power. Second, when the attempt is made to reprove them out of the Scriptures, they raise the objection that the interpretation of the Scriptures belongs to no one except the pope. Third, if threatened with a council, they answer with the fable that no one can call a council but the pope. In this wise they have slyly stolen from us our three rods, that they may go unpunished, and have ensconced themselves within the safe stronghold of these three walls, that they may practice all the knavery and wickedness which we now see. Even when they have been compelled to hold a council they have weakened its power in advance by previously binding the princes with an oath to let them remain as they are. Moreover, they have given the pope full authority over all the decisions of the council, so that it is all one whether there are many councils or no councils, -- except that they deceive us with puppetshows and sham-battles. So terribly do they fear for their skin in a really free council! And they have intimidated kings and princes by making them believe it would be an offense against God not to obey them in all these knavish, crafty deceptions. Now God help us, and give us one of the trumpets with which the walls of Jericho were overthrown, that we may blow down these walls of straw and paper, and may set free the Christian rods for the punishment of sin, bringing to light the craft and deceit of the devil, to the end that through punishment we may reform ourselves, and once more attain God's favor. Against the first wall we will direct our first attack. It is pure invention that pope, bishops, priests and monks are to be called the "spiritual estate"; princes, lords, artisans, and farmers the "temporal estate." That is indeed a fine bit of lying and hypocrisy. Yet no one should be frightened by it; and for this reason -- viz., that all Christians are truly of the "spiritual estate," and there is among them no difference at all but that of office, as Paul says in I Corinthians 12:12, We are all one body, yet every member has its own work, where by it serves every other, all because we have one baptism, one Gospel, one faith, and are all alike Christians; for baptism, Gospel and faith alone make us "spiritual" and a Christian people.
Malachi Martin says: For too long now those in the higher echelons of the Church have been suspected of quite worldly aims: of secret-almost cabalistic-designs on the rights, liberties, and freedoms of ordinary people. Many a sincere modern Protestant is still convinced that this is true. Martin was a former Jesuit professor. He seems to write from a very open view point. But in his serious and even severe criticisms of the Vatican in his books, "THE RISE AND FALL OF THE ROMAN CHURCH, and "RICH CHURCH POOR CHURCH," he never once criticizes the entity itself. Only things about it, bad things to be sure, but not the historical reality and to him the true and only church in all of history. Martin is very shrewd. His open criticism of the church establishes him in the minds of millions as an enemy of the church. He is far from it. But the idea that he is a critical enemy gives much more weight to his writings in the eyes of Protestants, thus enabling him to still latently push the idea of the Pope as Christ's Vicar upon earth and the Roman Catholic Church, the only true church that exists. His contention that many a sincere modern Protestant still is convinced that there is a cabal, an intrigue by a few powerful men to take over the world, and that they are centered in the Vatican, is probably less true now than at any point in Protestant history. We would have to say that VERY FEW modern Protestants even view the Papacy as other than another denomination, and even fewer still see anything even approaching cabalistic designs on the part of its leaders as the foregoing pages demonstrate. The powerful impact of papal propaganda is beginning to show itself together with the almost total apathy and indifference of most modern Protestants to Bible Interpretation. The complete failure of anything even approaching a Protestant solidarity against the obvious encroachments of papal teachings in once Protestant America proves the truth of the foregoing sentences. The complete ignorance and apathy of most American Protestants to the Vatican designs on America is, to say the least, disturbing. Not only that, but even those, who are supposed to be informed and even write books to warn Americans about the dangers which this nation faces, never even mention Romanism much less examine its goals for America. We hear much about perversion today and of how America will go down the tubes if the "Gays" have their way. But no one ever mentions doctrinal perversion. Doctrinal perversion is always the forerunner of sexual perversion. The Scriptures are clear at this point. "Even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge God gave them over unto a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient." The Scriptures teach clearly that the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against those who hold back the truth in unrighteousness. Doctrinal perversion leads to idolatry which leads to sexual perversion according to Romans Chapter one. When the Pope of Rome preaches the perverted doctrines of Romanism, enforced celibacy, purgatory, Mariolatry, etc., he is as much a threat to a pure America as any sexual pervert who clamours for "Gay" rights. This is the truth that we must see today or perish as a nation. Impure doctrines of demons affect a society more than the impure actions of some of its members. The nature of our battle is spiritual. When the Biblical truths of the Word of God with which evil is defeated are replaced by the satanic drivel of false religion, that society which experiences the barrage of satanic drivel is every bit as bad off as any secular humanist society. Secular humanism is not the only evil facing North America! In fact, North America has far more to fear from religious idolatry than it has from secular humanists.

But the Cosa Nostra, the Family, or The Mafia are a 100% Roman Catholic outfit. They originated in Sicily where Michele Sindona was also born. They control vast holdings in Italy and North America. They have gone what they call "legit" in many enterprises and were able to close down an entire cheese plant in Wisconsin. They did this to establish a monopoly in the Pizza business. This incident made the national news. Businessmen came in and brought the cheese factory. After they bought it, they closed it down. It was only later that Mafia involvement was discovered. As far as we know, the factory, which employed most of the town's work force, is still closed down as of this writing.
About four years ago I severed myself from politics. I donâ??t care who is president of the United States, Israel, Britain, or any other country. Christians should not be concerned with these things, because we are supposed to be a called out and separate people. Politics is spiritual Babylon and the political systems of men are not going to save us. All the rulers of this earth are wicked and have rebelled against God. What fellowship hath the light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14) 2Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? â??Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.â?? (Psalms 2:1-6) Most Christians can see that America is sick and dying, yet for some reason they think â??if we can just get a good conservative Christian into office everything will be alrightâ??. Christians need to understand that government doesnâ??t work. The entire system is built upon deception and is corrupt beyond repair. The corruption and deception was ushered in when the revolutionaries set things in motion in 1776. We cannot serve God and mammon at the same time. (Matthew 6:24) Yet Christians continue to look in the physical world for solutions to spiritual problems. Our King is the Lord Jesus Christ, whose kingdom is not of this world

The UN plans to launch a brand new plan for managing the entire globe at the Sustainable Development Summit that it will be hosting from September 25th to September 27th. Some of the biggest names on the planet, including Pope Francis, will be speaking at this summit. This new sustainable agenda focuses on climate change of course, but it also specifically addresses topics such as economics, agriculture, education and gender equality. For those wishing to expand the scope of a global governance, sustainable development is the perfect umbrella because just about all human activity affects the environment in some way. The phrase for the good of the plane? can be used as an excuse to micromanage virtually every aspect of our lives. So for those that are concerned about the growing power of the United Nations, this summit in September is something to keep an eye on. Never before have I seen such an effort to promote a UN summit on the environment, and this new sustainable development agenda is literally a framework for managing the entire globe.

In the summer of 1942, the friends began to question and resist the principals and policies of the Nazi regime. The group decided to adopt the strategy of passive resistance that was being used by students fighting against racial discrimination in the United States. This included publishing leaflets calling for the restoration of democracy and social justice. These were distributed throughout central Germany and the Gestapo soon became aware of the group's activities. The group co-authored six anti-Nazi Third Reich political resistance leaflets. Calling themselves the White Rose, they instructed Germans to passively resist the Nazis. They had been horrified by the behaviour of the Germans on the Eastern Front where they had witnessed a group of naked Jews being shot in a pit. Sophie Scholl at varying stages of her life The core of the White Rose consisted of students; Hans Scholl, Alex Schmorell, Willi Graf, and Christoph Probst, all in their early twenties. Also members were Hans and Sophie's sister Inge Scholl, and a professor of philosophy, Kurt Huber. Sophie also joined the group, however contrary to popular belief, she was not a co-author of the articles. Her brother had been initially keen to keep her ignorant of their activities, but once she discovered his activities, she joined him and proved invaluable to the group: as a female, her chances of being randomly stopped by the SS were much smaller. Between June 1942 and February 1943, they prepared and distributed six different leaflets, in which they called for the active opposition of the German people to Nazi oppression and tyranny. Several of the group members had been deployed to the Eastern Front for military service during the academic break. In late fall the men returned and the White Rose resumed its resistance activities. In January 1943, using a hand-operated duplicating machine, the group is thought to have produced between 6,000 and 9,000 copies of their fifth leaflet, "Appeal to all Germans!", which was distributed via courier runs to many cities (where they were mailed).
THE JESUITS TODAY Many Americans, of course, while paying half-hearted attention to such historical matters are convinced that although there may be some misdeeds in history, the Jesuits of the present have changed. Others seem to believe that the intrigue of the Jesuits is needed today to counteract the communist menace. G. Gordon Liddy of Watergate fame was taught by the Jesuits, and nowhere does he apologize for their teachings or for his philosophy of life which is based on the Jesuit teaching that the end justifies the means. In fact, he unashamedly advocates this teaching as the only way that America can survive. In his autobiography he states: Fordham was a feast for the mind and a challenge to the spirit. To begin with, it was still under the absolute control of the Jesuits...As much as I had admired the German Benedictines, I admired the Jesuits more... The Society of Jesus was something special the shock troop of the Catholic Church. He goes on to say that Heinrich Himmler used it as the model for his dreaded black-uniformed SS in Hitler's Germany and that the SS swore a special oath of loyalty to the Fuhrer, just as the highest order of the Jesuits swore a special oath of loyalty to the Pope. Liddy says later on that "just as I do, John Sirica believes the end justifies the means." The Jesuits obviously have gained respectability in our time. They have come a long way since John Adams, the second President of the United States, wrote in a letter to Thomas Jefferson: "If ever there was a body of men who merited eternal damnation on earth and in Hell, it is this Society of Loyola."
THE JESUITS IN HISTORY The true church of the Lord Jesus Christ has suffered reproach and endured persecution in every age since Stephen was martyred. In the early years of the church to confess Christ invited persecution and martyrdom. Augustine was one of the first, but certainly not the last, to advocate the necessity of force to extirpate error (the true Church of Lord Jesus Christ). As Farrar points out: "His writings became the Bible of the inquisition."1 So from then on, inquisitorial methods became part and parcel of Rome's intrigues although stridently denied by some contemporary writers. Martin Luther was used of God to set forth the liberating doctrine of justification by faith in the finished work of Christ and so dealt a death blow to Roman Catholicism. For this great Biblical doctrine destroys completely the whole-sacramentarian-good-works-priestly enterprise known as Roman Catholicism. Since the time of Luther the Roman institution has been working day and night to overthrow Bible Protestantism and return the "separated brethren" to the one true fold the Vatican. No greater effort has been made than that made by the Jesuits. The Society of Jesus, founded by Loyola, has been at the origin of many conspiracies directed against Protestantism. They are documented conspiracies, not figments of an over active imagination. So it is nothing short of amazing when Gary Allen, who claims to be an authority in the field of conspiracy, calls in Pedro Arrupe to substantiate his thesis that a conspiracy exists. At the time that Allen wrote ten years ago, Pedro Arrupe was the head of the Jesuits. Quote from: NONE DARE CALL IT CONSPIRACY Gary Allen: There are also religious leaders who are aware of the existence of this conspiracy. In a UPI story dated December 27, 1965, Father Pedro Arrupe, head of the Jesuit Order of the Roman Catholic church, made the following charges during his remarks to the Ecumenical Council: "This Godless society operates in an extremely efficient manner at least in its higher levels of leadership. It makes use of every possible means at its disposal, be they scientific, technical, social or economic. It follows a perfectly mapped-out strategy. It holds almost complete sway in international organizations, in financial circles, in the field of mass communications; press, cinema, radio and television." end of quote

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, Patrick Henry, Benjamin Franklin. Nearly every schoolchild recognizes them as the Founding Fathers signers of the Declaration of Independence, framers of the Constitution, heroes of the Revolutionary War. There were a great many more Founding Fathers, however, even if their names are not so familiar as the above. Several of those lesser-known men who played key roles in the creation of the United States of America were Catholics. Chief among them were three members of the Carroll family of Maryland: Charles Carroll, the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence; his cousin Daniel Carroll; and Daniel Carroll's brother John Carroll, who became America's first Catholic bishop. Charles Carroll of Carrollton (1737-1832) was the most illustrious and best-known of the Carrolls. He was the only signer whose property Carrollton was mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. Carrollton was the 10,000-acre estate in Frederick County, Maryland, that Charles Carroll's father had given him on his return to America from his education in Europe. At the time he signed the Declaration, it was against the law for a Catholic to hold public office or to vote. Although Maryland was founded by and for Catholics in 1634, in 1649 and, later, in 1689 after the Glorious Revolution placed severe restrictions on Catholics in England, the laws were changed in Maryland, and Catholicism was repressed. With the Declaration of Independence, all this bias and restriction ended. Charles Carroll first became known in colonial politics through his defense of freedom of conscience and his belief that the power to govern derived from the consent of the governed. He was a staunch supporter of Washington, and when the war was going badly at Valley Forge, he was instrumental in persuading the Revolution's Board of War not to replace Washington with General Horatio Gates. Carroll supported the war with his own private funds; he was widely regarded as the wealthiest of all the colonists, with the most to lose were the fight for independence to fail. Carroll was greatly acclaimed in later life, and he outlived all the other signers of the Declaration. Daniel Carroll of Rock Creek (1730-1796) was a member of the Continental Congress (1781-1783), and a signer of the Articles of Confederation. He was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention and one of only two Catholic signers of the United States Constitution. (The other Catholic signer was Thomas Fitzsimons of Pennsylvania.) At the Constitutional Convention, Daniel Carroll played an essential role in formulating the limitation of the powers of the federal government. He was the author of the presumption enshrined in the Constitution that powers not specifically delegated to the federal government were reserved to the states or to the people. Daniel Carroll later became a member of the first United States Congress (1789-1791). He was also a member of the first Senate of Maryland, where he served up to the time of his death. He was appointed by Washington as one of the first three commissioners of the new federal city that is now known as the District of Columbia. In today's terminology, he would have been considered the mayor of Washington, D.C. John Carroll (1735-1815), Daniel Carroll's younger brother, was educated in Europe, joined the Jesuit order, and was ordained a priest. He founded a private school for boys and named it after the town where it was located, Georgetown, a port on the Potomac River that later became part of Washington, D.C. He went on to be elected by all the Catholic priests in America to become America's first Catholic bishop. He later became archbishop of Baltimore. In any procession of American bishops, the archbishop of Baltimore always goes last in recognition of its role as America's oldest diocese. In 1789, John Carroll founded the college in Georgetown that later became known as Georgetown University.
John Carroll's Jesuit education had prepared him for the work of expanding the triumphal Roman Catholic 'spiritual' affairs in America. But to procure that triumph, it was to his cousin, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, who had been Jesuit educated, groomed, and peculiarly fitted to play a part in the American Revolution's 'political' affairs. The broad and thorough educational training that Charles Carroll received, both in France and England, made him the most educated and cultured man in the colonies during the time of the American Revolution. In France he had met many political dignitaries, that as soon as the rebellion began, would be such valuable assistance to the American independence cause. One such man was the French Secretary of Foreign Affairs, the Count de Vergennes. In England he learned English constitutional history and law, and attended frequently the sessions of Parliament and heard many of the debates on questions of American colonial policy. He made the acquaintance and was a guest at the house of Edmund Burke, a fellow Irishman and British statesman, who so eloquently advocated independence for the American colonies.

Today Jesuits are accorded reverence and respect in all segments of western society, and yes, even allowed back into Eastern society after being banned from countries like China for almost thirty years. We now have the benefit of Historic records at our fingertips today. History is behind us! We have PROOF the prophecies were fulfilled in the exact years as well as the exact manner the Bible said they would be. As Christians, we now need to take the advantage of these historic records.
