Whaaat? A new episode already a week after the previous one? Is this old Norderlanders? Hey, don't stress it, its Summer Gaming showcases season, and there is a lot to talk about. So with pleasure we'll bring you a new episode.
Join us when we react to the rest of the biggest showcases. Xbox Showcase, do they bring enough to make Xbox stand by itself? Or are they being to dependent on Starfield? Well that showcase was pretty good and Starfield is shaping up to be something special. Ubisoft seems to play it safe, with less games, and games that are more back to basics. They do have some potential bangers from their studio Massive, who is bringing two Disney games. Capcom was pretty mid, just showing what we already know. But Dragons Dogma 2 is looking great.
And don't forget, there are still alot of cool and interesting games that are coming in June, so we'll help you do not miss anything.

Alrighty, back with a traditional Norderlanders episode! So much news, quite overwhelming, but we manage as always!
From last week (Week 27), God of War Ragnarok is coming. Releasing on PS4 & PS5 on November 9th. Also the long developed Ubisoft game, Skull and Bones is actually releasing on November 8th. God damn, will it even survive? Other news from that week, Rockstar cancelled GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption 1 remasters and Ubisoft shuts down old games, making them unplayable after September this year.
Okidoki, this weeks news! (Week 28)
Skate 4 is now called just "skate" and will be free to play, with cross-progression and cross-play. Neat! Hideo Kojima, legendary video game developer, was falsely accused of the assassination of Japan's Prime Minister. Fucking weird.
And beside news, we are recording in the same room, which is pretty awesome. Playing so many games and has spent a lot of time together on vacation. So much funny time!

Alrighty, time to talk about two weeks of news. Let's go!
Sony is releasing more hardware, but it's not a PS5 pro or slim. This time around they are releasing deticated gaming monitors and headsets. They look good and we talk about how they can stand out in this competitive market.
Bungie has had enough! After months of Destiny players complaining about Bungie DMCA striking their videos online, Bungie has come forward saying that they were never the ones striking the content creators in the first place! It was a random guy, claiming to be Bungie, striking content himself. Well Bungie didn't like that, so now they are suing the person who did it for 7.2 million dollars. Holy! It's nice to see however that the broken DMCA system can be looked passed and justifice be served.
Other than that Nintendo had a mini direct this week, God of War Ragnarok fans needs to calm down and Steam Deck production is ramping up for Q3 orders.

Capcom had it's showcase and we got to see a bunch of stuff we already knew about. More Sunbreak, more Resident Evil etc.
But! They did us a suprise, by revealing Dragon's Dogma II ! Finally after 10 years, the much beloved game gets a follow up. Hurray!
Other than that, Assassin's Creed celebrates 15 years. So congratulations! More content are coming to AC: Valhalla, AC: Origins gets a 60fps patch and more. But, they will have their own seperate showcase all about AC and it's future this september.
And here is another big one, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth got revealed, the Part 2 of the trilogy of the Final Fantasy 7 remake project. It's also coming next year's winter! So next year will definitely be the year of Final Fantasy with Rebirth but also the 16th installment of the long-running series.
Other than that, Valheim is still taking over our lives, even though it can be quite unfair sometimes. Hey, I guess some days are just plain bad.

Oh damn, oh double damn. This week is jampacked with news, because the Summer of Gaming has kicked off! So let's go through (almost) everything from Summer Game Fest and Xbox / Bethesda shwocase.
Calisto Protocol got finally showed off in (kinda) uncut gameplay. The games looks gory as fk, but beautiful at the same time. A truly next-gen title. Modern Warfare 2 showed off first gameplay, and it looks like more Call of Duty, but the kind we can enjoy. Reveal trailer was meh.. Last of Us faction standalone game was mentioned, still being worked on. But, what we all expected, Last of Us remake, not named "Part 1" was officially revealed.** And it's what you expect. Last of Us 1 with Part 2's gameplay, graphics, the whole package. Probably will play this.
Then Xbox stepped in with announcements. We got to see gameplay of the upcoming Arkane game, Redfall. And it looked like our type of jam. Co-Op, leveling up, shooting. With that classic Arkane feel to it. Excited! Then we saw new game High on Life from the creators of Rick & Morty. New Minecraft game called Legends. And finally, Starfield gameplay. It is what you can expect, Fallout in Space. We have some thoughts about it and we are not that impressed. But we have to wait and see.
And so many more games, jesus christ! So join us in the most jampacked news filled episode for a while!

Well we will talk about it! Apparently Square Enix thinks that their Eastern developers is more successful and they will use the money from Embracer to invest in the lovely metaverse, blockchain and NFTs. Yeah, that seems like a smart thing to do! Anyway, we discuss!
Not only that, Sony has created (yet again) a position where the sole purpose is to find other investments to acquire. What else can Sony acquire? Everyone we could think of, is already acquired..
And Nintendo of America apparently does not have great working environments. Will this be another Activision scenario? We sure hope not, but in this day and age things like this will come forward and hopefully be sorted out. COME ON NINTENDO!
Other than that we are playing so many games, Guardians of the Galaxy, Young Souls and now finally Jedi Fallen Order. Exciting times! But the biggest of them all, we finally have gotten the Steam Deck! This episode was recorded just an hour since the Steam Deck was in our hands, so this will only be first hands-on impression. But nevertheless, it's finally here!

We been good Norderlanders. We have played so many games this week! Quite fun, and lot to talk about! So we start out this episode with just plain old impression and thoughts about games. How it should be.
Anyways, news!
SEGA made the great decision to remove old Sonic games before the release of Sonic Origins. Haven't they learned anything? Gamers don't like that and this is a classic "people in suits" decision that will not go great with the consumer. Is the publisher's job to make sure there is a reason to buy the remaster versions instead of the original ones. Don't you agree Rockstar?
Sony has reportedly started their own "preservation team". This could mean many things, but all in all they acknowledge their great libary of legacy games. Will we see more older Playstation games on the new PS Plus service? Or maybe an actual PS3 emulator for the PS5? We got to wait on this one but yes, care about your legacy Sony!
Other than that, Ubisoft may be acquired next and Norderlanders have a Steam Deck incoming. Emil finally got the "complete your purchase" mail from Valve. So we are preparing to have all hands on deck!

Microsoft and Sony shortly after announced that they are looking into new ways to implement ads in games. Example, have a real life ad for a real life product on a billboard when you are speeding by in your fancy car in Forza. They announced this with Free2Play games in mind, where this can bring new ways for the developers to earn money. Is that alright? We discuss the potential of this and how it could go out of hand really quickly.
Wonderlands season pass starts pretty rough, with the newly released DLC not up too snuff. Well, it's probably a good dlc but not worth as one of the four content drops that will release within the season pass. Have they learned nothing from Borderlands 3 Season Pass 2? I guess not.
Bobby Kotick future at Activision is unclear, even after the acquisition by Microsoft. Will he stay after this or should he leave. Either way a lot of money will end up in his pocket.
And lastly Witcher 3 next-gen upgrade may be in trouble and we take some time to appreciate Amy Henning (co-creator of Uncharted) with her now developing a new Marvel game but also a new Star Wars game. Hurray!

Happy Easter everybody, hope you all have a great time! But this is a gaming episode, so let's talk games! This week is all about news!
Can you believe it, it's only been three years since the last main line title game in the Kingdom Hearts, and they have already shown off snippets of the next one! The gameplay trailer that Square showed of was in commemoration for the franchises 20 birthday. Congratulations!
Is a Switch Pro version really on the way? Thinking about the competition Nintendo is about to get from Valve, considering the Steam Deck, it might not be such a bad idea. A lot of tech experts have been analysing the latest "gameplay" we have gotten of BOTW 2, and most of them have come to the conclusion that the game must be running on stronger hardware, since it's just impossible to have the said detail on a Switch. We talk, discuss and have conversation about this topic.
Now, are subscription services killing the gaming industry? With the recent news surrounding Oddworld: Soulstorm, we discuss and talk about what all these subscription services mean for the gaming industry. Good? bad? it doesn't matter?Other than that, we talk more about what's happening in the gaming industry, take a listen if you're interested! Or, use the timestamps to find the exact topic you want to listen and do just that!

Damn, this episode isn't long, but hopefully you will enjoy it.
What a week, imma right? It started out great, with the Norderlanders joining forces and played Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Yes, Emil & Jens got together in Stockholm and played the whole game in a weekend. And we have some thoughts about it. Positive ones I promise! Is this the Borderlands game we have been waiting for?
But sadly the weekend ended badly. Poor Jens has had the most unlucky week ever, with delayed trains, power outage and more. We are just glad we got to enjoy Wonderlands together before all this crap happened.
Anyhow, news!
After speculations that the upcoming game Abandoned was cancelled, developer Blue Box Studios has confirmed it's still in development. But at what cost? This game has been the talk of the town last year, and maybe we should stop caring about it until the developer are actually showing or releasing something? Frankly, we are tired about this weird game.
Unreal Engine 5 is officially out for the public! Together with announcements that the next Gears of War game will use it and also a brand new Tomb Raider game! Exciting times. But is better graphics good? We discuss!
Also Ubisoft (god damn) has seized further development of Ghost Recon Breakpoint. You know what this means? The NFTs that the game had are now completely useless. So how about that? We talk about NFTs (again) and how they don't fit in video games.
Also remakes of Max Payne 1 & 2 are on their way! Very cool!Consider leaving us a nice review if you liked the episode or share us with other fellow gamers. Helps us grow! This episode will contain news from both week 12 and week 13. It's a handful, so brace yourselves!
First of we do a recap of week 12's news, but specifically the Witcher news. A new witcher is in development and we are excited. What do we want from it, what are our concerns? Will we too much burned out from these types of games when Witcher (4?) releases? Hopefully Witcher will stand out.
Playstation has finally revealed their take on an subscription service. Calling it "a revamped PS Plus". Is it a good deal, could it be better? And we don't see this as a competitor to Xbox Game Pass, beacuse how can Sony compete with that? What they have is their great legacy.
Also E3 2022 is officially cancelled. Is E3 dying? Is there even a room for E3 in todays industry? We discuss and maybe there will be a replacement with Summer Game Fest. But still, E3 has such an important history that we'll be sad to see it go.
Also Breath of the Wild sequel is delayed to Spring 2023. Take all the time you need development team. Zelda is special and we know the next one will be special.

Yet another week has passed, and this new episode is all about "hype".As you might've guessed, this week's episode is a special one. The main topic of this episode is all about "hype". What does the word mean in general, and how does it affect our personal lives and most importantly, what does "hype" have to say for the videogame industry?
"Overhyped" vs "hyped". What is the difference between these two? How does "hype" affect developers? Is it good to get affected by it, should it be at the cost of the game? What does it have to say for reviews? If its a problem, is there a potential fix for it? We delve into all these different topics and discuss, dissect and have great conversation! After months of thinking this game was in trouble and not releasing this year, Hogwarts Legacy was finally shown off in a State of Play. We got to see a lot of the game, with locations, combat, story, characters and more. Safe to say, this showcase really showed off some intriguing stuff. The game looks like the ultimate Harry Potter experience!
Not only big AAA game was shown this week, we got to see a lot of new indies coming our way. Thanks to ID@Xbox and Humle Games events, new indies that looks to have a theme with mixing genres are coming soon in the future. And we love Indies, so we will happy welcome them.
Other than that, consoles becoming more like PCs with several graphical options for Ghostwire Tokyo, but also PCs are becoming more like consoles with DirectStorage now available for Windows. And lastly Russia allowing illegally downloading games right now. Russia welcomes pirates!

Playstation showcased several new titles, especially from the Japanise studios. All in all it was a good showcase, if you didn't expect it to be a huge one (which Emil did).
GTA 5 prices for PS5 and Xbox Series X has been revealed. Is this fair? Should we expect a free next-gen upgrade even for a old game like GTA 5? We discuss!
Playstation is however in trouble, getting a class-action law suit. Several female employees has come out and said that the company don't treat their female co-workers fair. Hopefully it is not more to this and we won't get a similar situation like Activision/Blizzard. But we have to wait, since the lawsuit has just started. More in the coming weeks probably.

February still keeps giving! Now this week we have one of the most anticipated games releasing, Elden Ring.
The game is getting spectacular review scores, but the game is not without its problems. Particularly performance issues. Is this fair? Can a game get top scores when it has issues? We discuss this greatly and see what the deal is.
Other than that,
Call of Duty skips year 2023 for the first time since 2006. This creates huge potential for the franchise to be better than ever and we talk about that as well. Maybe we'll get a good base for a CoD title and then go beyond that with updates and more to make it even greater? We can only hope.
Nintendo also acquires a studio, so now they are joined with the big three, Playstations rumored subscription service “Spartacus” gets pricing for each its tiers, March upcoming games and more!

Oh yeah, I guess it was Nintendo’s turn now! No acquisition luckily, but a new Direct was shown, so we talk about everything that was showcased there.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been announced and this looks like more what we liked about the first game. Hopefully that is the case. Mario Strikers returns, and that looks like a fun spin on the football genre. Mario Kart 8 gets more stages as DLC, never seen game Live a Live is releasing in the west with updated graphics and more! Looks like your Switch will have a lot to do in the upcoming months.
Someone who doesn’thave much to do, is sadly Google Stadia. Google has rebranded its service to Google Stream and will not be focused as much in gaming as it used to. It’s not completely gone, but it’s getting closer.
And Platinum wants to resurrect the previous Xbox Exclusive Scalebound. Currently, that seems like it could be a reality now. Even more than before.

As you might have figured out by the title, the acquisition season is far from over! This week, Sony acquired Bungie. What does this entail? Is Bungie only going to work on first party Sony games now? or are they still going to be making games across all the platforms? Well, we discuss and talk about exactly that!
A week doesn't go by without some NFTs in the news! According to Ubisoft, gamers aren't able to se the benefits with NFTs, and Team 7 got huge backlash after trying to enter the NFT business. We dissect, process and talk about this as well, do gamers really not see the benefits of NFTs, or is it all just a scam...
We don't talk about acquisitions without Microsoft being present. We delve more into the fact that Microsoft's recent acquisition might be monopolistic, as well that they are under review by The US Federal Trade Commission, will the deal go through or not? Time will tell...
Other than that, we talk about a potential Monster Hunter clone being made over at Xbox and Jens's thought surrounding that, as well as Emil's thoughts surrounding GhostWire: Tokyo's abrupt release date.**Consider leaving us a nice review if you liked the episode or share us with other fellow gamers. So after we have settled after the big Microsoft Activision/Blizzard news from last week,we can continue with this week's news!
Respawn is EA's golden boy for Star Wars games apperently, because they are making three of them. One of the games will be a sequel for Jedi Fallen Order, which no one is suprised by, but also there are a First Person shooter and a RPG in the works. Is this maybe to much for one studio? Jedi Fallen Order sold extremely well, so EA is putting all the chips on Respawn. Hopefully it will all sort out.
The three next Call of Duty games will come to Playstation. If you have some knowledge of the business, this may also not have been that suprising. With contracts, marketing deals with this franchise releasing a new title every year. But what about after that? Could we have a future where Call of Duty will be an Xbox exclusive? It's hard to imagine, but we have to face the facts that it could be a reality. Time will tell.
Other than that, Take-Two calls the GTA Trilogy Definitive launch a "glitch", Minecraft cyberattack causes a whole country to lose internett and Netflix really want to be the industry lead in their attempt on video game subscription service.
We also played so many games, one of them finishing Borderlands (2009), so we go through our thought surronding that. Together with so many more games!

Activision/Blizzard is in the news once again, but this time for another reason than controversies. So, as you might have guessed from the title, Microsoft is still waving it's wallet around, and this time they've acquired Activision/Blizzard!
We discuss what this could mean for the company in general, both Microsoft and Activision Blizzard. We talk about the games that have been acquired, what it means for the management and work culture, since Activision/Blizzard doesn't have a clean track record, slightly touch on the business aspect of this acquisition, and lastly how will Sony react to this change in the gaming industry?Spartacus, Sony's streaming service is back in the news, so we have a short segment about that topic. What do we expect of it, what is reasonable to expect, and will this maybe help Sony in light of the recent acquisition of Microsoft?
NFTs just don't seem to go away... Troy Baker is this time in the news surrounding NFTs, and it's not that good...

Life sucks right now, but we have some games to look forward to prettysoon. Even though some of them got delayed. Anyways, always give compliments to each other when you can. Remember that kids!
Take-Two has acquired one of the biggest mobilepublishers, Zynga for 13 billion dollars. What does this mean? Will we see GTA 5 or Red Dead Redemption 2 onphones in the future? Or do we have to settle with spin-offs like Red DeadCandy Crush? Well, we just have to wait and see.
More news about Activision and that LEGO hasstepped away from them now. Not reallysurprising and we take this opportunity to talk about toxic work culture.
Red Dead Online seems to be dying, so fans aretrying to say their piece with hashtag; #SaveRedDeadOnline and more. Hopefully Rockstar will listen and support this community.
Other than that, rumoured Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.5seems really good and may give the game a second chance, and Sony is makingmore PS4s because of the chip-shortage. Microsoft already back in 2020 stoppedXbox One production entirely. How about that?

New year, and more Norderlanders! Here is the first episode of 2022. Let's go!
Had a good Holiday? Emil & Jens talk about their holiday and what they have done. Kinda dramatic for some, but all in all nice vacation.
On the news front, we mention the Raven Software strike that has been going on. Is it being handled correctly? We may have to deep dive into it at a later date.
There are some misinformation about Days Gone sales. Ghost of Tsushima has recently sold 8 million copies, hurray! But Jeff Ross got to Twitter that Days Gone also did that in the same time span. Why is Sony so mean to Days Gone? We'll talk about that and the reputation Sony wants to have for their games.
Ken Levine's upcoming game has entered "development hell", and has been there for a while. A lot of changes in direction and rewrites are the cause of it and we talk about it. Maybe it's time to scale back Levine?
And lastly Bully 2 almost happened. Well they worked on it for a while. Sadly timing and prioritizing is the reason we don't have a Bully 2 in our lives now, but maybe in the future that will be a real thing.

One of the last big events this year (gaming wise) has happened! So let's dive straight into everything from Game Awards 2021!
Huge congratulations to Hazelight with Game of the Year; It Takes Two!
Then we have announcements; Alan Wake 2 announced, Wonder Woman game announced, Homeworld 3 announced. Very cool announcements (did I use that word too much?)
We also saw several new trailers from upcoming games that we have known about. So glad we got a new look on that.
Besides TGAs, we talk about Sony patents the "ever-changing world" mechanic from Death Stranding. Can this mean we are getting a sequel? Well that would be cool, but again with the patents man. Is this the future of the gaming industry? Patents for every new thing? Potenitally a sad world we are gonna live in.
However we also talk about Xbox successfull ecosystem and what it would have look like now if they made better choices in the past. Uncharted Legacy of Thieves collection details and Ubisoft bringing chainblocking NFTs to gaming. Well, that last part may not happen since they have retracted the announcements, but expect it nevertheless.

Sometimes the news won't stop coming!
We recorded this episode on a Saturday night, so that means we drink beer! Enjoy our tipsy minds...
Battlefield may get the help it needs. Vince Zampella from Respawn has stepped in to oversee Battlefield's future. What does that mean? Will the game be more like Titanfall game? Will Titanfall 3 never happen? Is Battlefield 2042 already over? We talk!
Playstation may be making their own Game Pass, codename "Spartacus". Introducing 3 tiers that will give you access to various services. One of them, backwards compatibility. Does Playstation have what it takes to compete with Xbox? Maybe with Playstation huge history.
And the bad news this week, Take-Two being bullies. T2 has going around copyright claimed several names associated with their properties. Which has sadly strucked Hazelight's It Takes Two. Why T2? Why are you turning into the next big evil corporation? Please STOP!
Other than that, many more interesting news bits this week, with discussions. Enjoy!

It's nearing the end of the year and news are starting to be in the minor. But when it's the end of the year, good old pal Jens has his birthday! Happy Birthday Jens!
Activision/Blizzard is still going on, and we have gotten some respond after the exposure of Kotich last week. Is Kotick going to stay? Will the board members also be let go? It's all a sinking ship and I guess we just have to wait and see.
Rockstar has responded after the horrible launch of GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. They have said that they will fix the game and are bringing back the original games back to the storefronts. You can also get them for free! Modders however are already fixing the game for them, so why the hate for modders Rockstar? Can't you set them free?
But hey, let's then talk more about games!
We have really gotten into Outriders and are super happy that we finally found a game we both like so much. Jens played Pokemon Shining Pearl and really think this is how a remaster should be done and Emil has played more Battlefield 2042, and the game is really growing on him.

01:07:53 - 01:09:00 Jens has finally turned into a man. Happy 25th birthdayJens!
What a week! Jens started a new business apparently and Emil rambles too much. Other than that, let's talk games!
A new update about Activision and Blizzard case has come forward. Now Bobby Kotick has been put on the spotlight. He knew about all of the misconduct all this time. Hey, what a great CEO huh? After this, employees has walked out demanding the CEO to be let go. Also other companies in the industry has spoken up and demand a change. This has to be the last straw, right?
GTA Trilogy is back online, but it is in so bad shape. Come on! Rockstar did not care about their legacy at all. Mobile developer in charge, mobile ports and so, so many glitches and bugs. I thought that we couldn't do another Cyberpunk this year, but here we are.
**Positive news!
Halo Infinite is super sweet, Outriders is our jam, Game Awards nominees, new games releases and more!

00:26:55 - 00:38:39 CEO of Activision/Blizzard knew all along about the horrible misconduct.
00:38:39 - 00:46:34 GTA Trilogy back online, it's this years "Cyberpunk".

01:01:11 - 01:11:21 Rapido Fire Week 46
01:11:21 - 01:24:04 Game Releases Week 46
Ohh, man. What great times we are living in! Games taken away from us, consoles taken away from us. When will this suffering end? Well, it's been a weird week.
The higly anticipated Steam Deck has been delayed by two months. Steam couldn't fight with the chip-shortage in the world and even them has to bow under it. Two months isn't that bad, but who knows if it will be delayed again. Even PS5, who has sold very well under the circumstances, still has to cut down the production because there isn't enought going around.
Again with the weird times, GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has had one of the worst launches ever. By being available just for a couple of hours on PC, the whole Rockstar Launcher was down for hours on the end. Making every game there not playable at all. Even the freshly released trilogy. Luckily the service is back online now, but GTA Trilogy is still not available, not for purchase and for them who already bought the game. DId they even care about this release? Highly unlikely.
**On happier notes, Elden Ring brings some love to the previous generation and Halo Infinite multiplayer may be released very soon.

Anywho this week we talk about the SteamDeck (again) and how risky it is to invest in a first gen product. It is very important to have people buying a new product from the start, so the product can evolve and become better. Yay!
Investors are stepping in to fix the Activision/Blizzard problems. This will definitely get things in gear. It's important news, so we gotta talk about it.
The Nintendo Switch is getting some indie love, after several games are coming to the platform. Good opportunity to play some hidden indies! (Or just wait for the SteamDeck and play them there, hihi).

This week wasn't really a lot so welcome to Norderlanders shortest episode yet!
We start of with a topic of discussion, review bombing. Is this the right way to send you critisizm to the developer? Trashing a game even though you have bought the game anyways and pretty much made the investors and publishers happy? Well this is something to talk about! We think that do make a difference, vote with your wallet. There is a brand new IP from 2K set for launch pretty soon and we have some wishes for that plus we talk about Back 4 Blood Beta. What makes this game so special?
Plus a dog life can be pretty rough sometimes. Hear it all in this week's episode!

**After a break last week, this episode will be (sort of) a recap of two weeks. Week 29 and 30. And sadly it's not a good week for gaming.
Activision Blizzard has gotten a lot of fire lately and that's not weird!** Toxic working environment, sexist and rotten people in charge has really put the spotlight on Activision Blizzard. So we do a complete recap of the whole case and have some thoughts about it. Sometimes it's not good to be on top for a while. People may get a god complex.
Dead Space Remake has more details. A full remake of the first original Dead Space game. And it sounds pretty good. Maybe somebody should man up and actually play a horror game for once.
PS5 gets system improvments that it should got from the start. But hey, you gotta start somewhere right?
And Emil talks about his stressful experience when he was reserving the SteamDeck (SteamPal?). It doesn't matter how prepared you are, sometimes things don't work out.

**It's vacation time and we couldn't record a normal episode this week (yeah, I know right?) so this week's episode will be a special episode.
And the episode will be all about who we are behind Norderlanders: A Gaming Podcast. Because we haven't really introduced ourselves. So why not do this on episode 47?**What's our story? Who is Emil and Jens and why did they start a podcast? Let's introduce us properly this time and tell you all about us. So you will know who is actually behind the mics. Hope you enjoy our off-script , laid back conversation and let us know if this was something that you want to hear more. Next week is planned a normal news filled episode.

Oh man! Valve, you naughty, naughty dog. You did it. You shook up the industry. This week Valve announced their rumoured handheld console/PC hybrid. Called the Steam Deck. A new type of handheld that is basically a portable PC with controllers on the side. With this device you will be able to play your Steam library on the go. Even modern titles! Not only restricted to Steam, but you can run other PC software on it as well. Other game launchers for example, like Epic Game Store or Ubisoft Connect. It sounds to good to be true and we are very excited about this. So much of this episode is dedicated to the Steam Deck.
Other than that big news, Netflix may offer games in their subscription. Could this be a real competitor to Xbox Game Pass? Well a lot has to be in order to make this even functional, but we think Netflix have a chance here. With their brand recognition and their planned video game adaptations, this could be something big.
We also have a discussion about difficulty in games. Does it matter what you play on? Is beating a game on easy not beating the game? We discuss and come to a fairly good conclusion. Maybe you disagree? Well, let us know! We'll be glad to hear from you!

A lot of reports and speculation this week, but hey that's okay too.
New Nintendo Switch has been announced and it's not what we have hoped for. The new model will have a OLED screen, better kickstand, better audio and more storage. That's it! It's not totally unexpected since it's Nintendo we are talking about, but after some many rumours. It's a little disappointing.
Both the next Grand Theft Auto and Assassin's Creed will have live-service elements, in particular an ever changing world for players to be in. This is something that makes sense for GTA, especially for GTA Online. Which is super popular and it is a missed opportunity if they on't have some focus on that. But we trust that GTA will have a good, focused campaign. However, Assassin's Creed not so much. The previous AC games have been bugged down and ruined somewhat of in-game and content locked behind a paywall for a while now. And it looks like that is not going to change and only become more. Great, as if AC was not appealing already. Yikes.
Other than that, Apex Legends got hacked, Bluepoint not acquired after all and more fking Silent Hill rumours.**Consider leaving us a nice review if you liked the episode or share us with other fellow gamers.

**After a busy week for the both of us, we can enjoy a more filled news worthy week. So let's get in to it!
Sony has been busy, who have now acquired two new studios (maybe three). First Housemarque, the developers of Returnal for PS5. An good and an obvious choice. They did a good job with Returnal and it's nice to see them appreciated and taken care of by Sony moving forward. Also Nixxes a PC porting studio, which can only mean more Playstation titles coming to PC. Hurray! There are also some indicating that Bluepoint is also acquired,** but it's not officially confirmed. We can only hope, because they are a good choice too.
Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut has been announced, brining the game to PS5 together with more content and fucntions! Don't worry, this version will also be on PS4. But I think we know where you want to play this game. Guess we better find a PS5 pretty soon!
After positive Sony news, we talk about Sony lack of support of indie games. What happened Sony? You used to care. Now you only care about the big blockbuster experience. Indies matter too! Hopefully with Shuhei Yoshida in charge we can expect some changes. Cause lately, it hasn't been good.
Also we talk about EA Play Schedule for July with five different showcases, Halo Multiplayer and we acknowledge the Kojima/Silent Hill conspiracy. Hope you'll enjoy the episode!Consider leaving us a nice review if you liked the episode or share us with other fellow gamers.

It's a slow week, but something interesting has come up and we'll talk about it!Potentialy the big one, Dead Space is coming back? Leaks ahead of EA Play Live which will happen on July 22nd, EA Motive is reportedly developing a new Dead Space game. Is it true? Are the clues and signs there? We think so! This is in the same vain has what happened last year with a new Skate game. Fingers crossed Dead Space fans!
Nintendo, what's going on? Where is Bayonetta 3, is it dead or in trouble? Why do we have to use a app to voice chat and matchmake? Isn't it time for you to step up? Follow the flow and be a reliable online service.
And I guess this is somewhat interesting, Borderlands Movie has wrapped filming. Will this movie be any good? Or even watchable? Only time will tell, but we'll have a open mind.
And hey, maybe this could be interesting, Windows 11 has officially been revealed. Finally after leaks and prototypes. Will this make PC gaming even better? By the looks of it, we think it just might.

**It's time to cover the rest of E3 2021!
Last episode we left off right after the Microsoft Event, so let's start with Square Enix.
Stranger of Paradise (Chaos!!) was announced, a soul-like game set in the Final Fantasy Universe.** Looked cool, but maybe just a Nioh with a new fresh coat of paint? The main guy was a little crinch though...
Guardians of the Galaxy was announced, brand new Marvel story game, where you only play as Star-Lord himself commanding the rest of the crew on a adventure. Looked pretty cool.
Steam and Phones user will be pretty happy with the re-releases of Final Fantasy 1-6. Why is this not on console? Why Square, why??
Next up, Capcom. Nothing much from this really, but something nevertheless. Monster Hunter Stories 2 gets shown, looking like a good time. And more content for MH Rise. Jens is not reallyu excited anymore...
Lastly, but not least; Nintendo! Not a lot from them, but a new 2D Metroid game after 19 years! Metroid Dread. Looks sweet! And the big one, new footage of the Breath of the Wild Sequel. Looks more like the same game, just improved with more items and floating island. Really expanding the verticality of the game. And they aim for a 2022 release. Will probably be delayed, but hey, that's okay. It's Zelda for crying out loud! And thats our coverage of E3 2021. Did we do good? **E3 is finally here! And in this episode we will cover everything uptill Microsoft/Bethesda showcase. The rest will be covered in the next episode.
First of, Summer Game Fest Kick-Off Live. The Borderlands spin-off game is real, called Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. But the star of the show was of course Elden Ring.** It is not dead, and it's coming sooner than expected, January 22. So the hype is real. Very good start.
Second was the Ubisoft Forward. Much was expected like Rainbow Six Extraction, Far Cry 6. But, we got to know the season pass for Far Cry 6, where you can play as the previous games villians. Plus, the big one; Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is coming to current gen! Awesome game. The big ones from the show however, was the new Avatar Frontiers of Pandora and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Good show Ubisoft.
Not so much for Gearbox, that was completely unnecessary. Basically the Randy Pitchford show. Nothing of newsworthy except Tribes of Midgard. That looked pretty cool.
And lastly, the big one. Microsoft & Bethesda showcase. Right out of the bat, Starfield! Coming 11.11.22. (nice). And Halo Infinite with free 2 play multiplayer and campaign coming this Holiday (hopefully).
Beside all that above, we still cover other news and game releases for week 23, so take a listen wouldn't you?

1:32:41 – 1:33:20 Jens little message
E3 2021 is nearing us and we talk about our hopes and what we would like to see. By the looks of it, it's gonna be pretty jampacked! So many showcases and conferences! We think we are going to see Halo Infinite and myabe Starfield? Xbox together with Bethesda this year has a lot of potential. Ubisoft may have something in the cooker. Rainbow Six Quarantine? Splinter Cell? Oh, a man can dream.
Sadly (or, not?) there has been some leaks already. Publisher 2K's E3 plan has been leaked supposedly. Borderlands Spin-off, Turn-Based Marvel game. Wow, how about that? Could that be any good? We'll just have to wait and see.
We also go through the Far Cry 6 gameplay from last week, and we are excited. Crazy weapons, tropical setting, cool antagonist. This could bring us back to the franchise after a long absence after Far Cry 3. You will probably see more of the game at E3 as well.
**And Nvidia, very good time to announce and release new RTX Ti cards. I see no problem with that at all!

Very good week for Norderlanders!
Two awesome games where showcased and let's talk about them. This week's State of Play with the first gameplay of Horzion Forbidden West. The game looks like a improvement over the first game and that's great! Can't wait to play it, even though it will probably be on PS4. The other game that was showcased after a long silence, Dying Light 2: Stay Human. A game we both loved the first game and can't wait to get back into parkour-zombie slicing madness! This game also got a release date, and it's coming pretty soon.
Valve is cooking! And it may be a new handheld console. A so called "Steam-Pal", if you like. This console will reportedly play games from your Steam libary, so this will potentially be the first console where we already have over 1000 games to play even before the console is out! Always exciting with new tech!
And lastly we talk about the hype with Elden Ring and our tolerence of buggy games. Did Biomutant get treated badly? Or is it something that you yourself, has to check out and then make an opinion.Consider leaving us a nice review if you liked the episode or share us with other fellow gamers.

**First time ever where we actually haven't played any games this week.. And we are hosting a gaming podcast?! GET OUTTA HERE!
Well anywho,
Nintendo has started to use it's amiibos more sneaky, now locking content behind a paywall.** Amiibos used to be so innocent, mostly being a collector's item for the fans. With only bringing cosmetic or small functions to the games. But now a whole new fast-travel system is locked behind it for the upcoming re-release, Zelda Skyward Sword, Not good Nintendo, not good.
Speaking of potentially not good things, Sony has patented a gambling system for games. Where players can gamble with real money, cryptocurrency or in-game items. Is this really a good time to do that with all the rage and lawsuits going around. Comparing micro transactions and lootboxes to gambling and makiing them accesible for kids? Hmm, this can be a shitshow, but we'll just have to wait and see. Remember, just a patent for now.
Other than that, Starfield will be a Xbox exclusive, Returnal developers knew about the pricetag for the game the same time as the rest of us, and Take-Two plans to release 20 games this fiscal year.

Remember the Epic v Apple lawsuit? Well hey, it all happening right now. We do a quick recap of the case, but mostly focus on the leaks that have come forward. Sony didn't want to do crossplay, Microsoft selling Xbox at a loss and Epic paying a lot of money to give it's users free games and exclusivities.
Beside from that huge ongoing case, we talk about another potential lawsuit that Sony is getting. About them having a monopoly on their digital stores. How do we fix that? Should consoles aswell have alternative stores? Or do we have enought of different clients on PC? We discuss! What is really the solution here?
CD Project Red has also lost it's Game Director, and what will this mean for the future projects in the beloved Witcher franchise?I guess time will only tell.

We have a discussion about the price increase for games. Is it justified? Should it affect other cohntries aswell? We talk a bunch about this and somehow come to a conclusion. Always nice to get things of our chests.
In relation to that, gaming has never been so popular than now. Why is that? And how the hell are they so successful, when there are shortages in world? Pretty impressive we must say. And just think how it would have been if their were no shortages. Holy crap.
Also Microsoft has increased revenue for developers, giving them a bigger share for game sales than before. This is inline with what Epic has been doing and something Steam maybe needs to change to keep up with the competition. Mostly in the past, it's always been a 70-30 split. But it's nice that someone (with a lot of money of course) can change that for the better.
And lastly, would it been cool if NetherRealm made a fighting game with Marvel characters? I surely think so.Consider leaving us a nice review if you liked the episode or share us with other fellow gamers.

The Gamers has spoken and Sony listened. PS3 & PSVita stores are not going away! Coming from Jim Ryan himself, they heard the backlash and reverted their decision. But don't expect that the stores will be there forever, cause sometime in the future they has to go. Hopefully Sony will give better headsup than previous. That would be great.
Playstation Plus Video Pass is now a thing, giving Plus subscribers movies and shows from Sony Pictures. Just a little extra, because Sony has movies to share. Only in Poland though, so let's see if it expands in the future.
And last Sony news (we are a Playstation Podcast?), FIrewalk Studios are making a new exclusve mutliplayer game for Playstation. This is important since PS does not have any exclusive multiplayer games in their libary. So maybe this will fill that void?
And we talk about Jeff Kaplan leaving Blizzard after 19 years. Will this affect Blizzard? Was he the last saving graze for the company? Well, we just have to wait and see.

I guess we are late about this, but in this episode we will discuss Sony potential uncertian future. Bloomberg recent report showed us turbulence behind the scenes with Sony development teams. Days Gone 2 pitch rejected, Last of Us remake and Uncharted semi reboot. We are worried that the Sony we knew, is going away. Much of this episode is dedicated to Sony missdoings recently and what this will mean for the future. And hey, maybe it's not that bad and we just need to be patient and wait for the games.
They are doing something right, because the PS5 is selling gangbusters already.
Nintendo is showing love for Indies. And a bunch of great games are coming to the system. Just get your wallet ready. The Switch is the best way to play indies afterall.
And Amazon is cancelling their Lord of the Rings MMO. Have they ever released a game? Should Amazon still make games or just only focus on their streaming service, Luna? Well maybe they shouldn't give up so easily. Lord of the Rings could have been something, but we will never know.

Outriders is out, and we have actually and finally played the Demo! We have some thoughts, but overall it was a cool game (demo at least). Sadly, as many game launches nowadays, Outriders had some server issues. So we discuss, should every game get the same flak when they arrive in a messy state? Does it depend on the developer? Have this happened with them before? Well, we talk about it. One thing is for cetain, games should give the right amount of time to be finished before they release.
E3 is back this summer, as a digital event. Several publishers has now joined, but many big ones are still not joining. The question is, is E3 really necessary and is the name the only thing that differentiate them for all other digital showcases lately? We miss the traditional E3, where one wonderful week every summer is filled with new games and demos. Remembering the good old days...
EA has patent a new dynamic difficulty system that will keep players play for a longer time. We have different concerns about this but we mention them both.
And hey! We have played a bunch of games this week so we talk about that aswell. HURRAY!

Cyberpunk is back with the long awaited Patch 1.2. Can we move on from Cyberpunk now? Give them a break maybe? Well CD Project Red has also announced that they are going to work on two new games simultaneously in the Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises. Is that really the way to go? I guess we'll find out. Also Cyberpunk multiplayer component is most likely cancelled. That okay in our opinion.
Sony has confirmed the shutdown of the digital stores of PS3, PSP & PSVITA. It's all happening this summer. Luckily you can still download your purchased content after the shutdown. So go buy your games, cause your open window is closing!
After this sad news, Microsoft swoops in and announces their backward compatibility has grown and is now available to stream to your Android device. How about that? Microsoft is kind of winning guys.
And lastly, we have a deep discussion about digital vs physical games. What is the future? Are we already changing? Listen to this episode to find out! Consider leaving us a nice review if you liked the episode.

Hey you, do you care about your PS3, PSP or the underated PSVITA? Well it's about to end. It's reported that Sony is planning to shut down the digital stores for the consoles. Why? Well, everthing has to end sometime, but still. It's important to make the purchased games available. We don't know what's going on, so hopefully we get the official word from Sony,
Nintendo Switch (Pro?) is sounding really good. 4K output docked, new Nvidia chip and bigger screen. And I almost forgot, Nvidia DLSS technology. HOLY CRAP! This will change everyhting. Let's hope this will happen, and we will gladly take it with the reported price bump. Let's go.
You can now play steam games with you friend without them having a steam account. Remote play on Steam is now available trough only a url link. Pretty cool right? Just make sure that you have a good interwebs connection.
One last thing, it's time to hunt people! Monster Hunter Rise is out now, and I guess Emil won't see Jens for a couple of years.

**IT'S SPRING TIME
And you know what that means? Playing some Borderlands. Well some of us does and the other hasn't played anything at all this week. Well, it is what it is.
Devotion (Not Division) is back on sale, after much trouble being banned by China and GOG respectively.** What is up with that game? Well now it's back, so hurray!
Activision/Blizzard lays of several employees while the CEO is dancing with a huge salary. This even takes notice by the investors of the company. Is this really the way to do things? Not only that, as a extra "screw you" to the employees, they are getting a gift card for Battle.net. I mean come on??
Hey! You, console player, pretty good week for you. Xbox Game Pass gets more awesome games in it's library and the upcoming game Outriders will be available on day one! Pretty sweet right? Plus EA Play will be included in the subscription service on PC. How is all of this possible?
PlayStation as part of the "Play at Home" initiative is giving out totally free games! Several good indie games and one big game, Horizon Zero Dawn. GO PLAY PEOPLE! **Since we didn't cover news last week, we talk about the big ones!
Elden Ring and New Switch is real after all?**Well, Elden Ring was suppose to be shown soon, but due to leaks, this will be postponed. Switch (Pro?) will be a more realistic upgrade than the insane mockups shown on the interwebs.
Then back to news for this week!
Microsoft is making the Xbox the best overall console ever. With more possibilities and more features. Series X is looking more and more like a PC. And with that there is a need for more restrictions. Casue console has been the place to play without cheaters and hackers. So luckily some kind of anti-cheat system is coming. This needs to be implemented, just make sure that it can run in the background.
And hey Bethesda/Microsoft is now a real thing. Celebrating this, 20 games from Bethesda is now on Xbox Game Pass. GAME THAT SHIT! Is it also suprising that some Bethesda games will be exclusive to Xbox? We don't think so.
Emil is very happy cause he is getting a new PSVITA game soon. How about that?

PlayStation State of Play was this week, showing off stuff we already know about. Gameplay trailers, showcases and more. But we got some surprises! Sifu and Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade. Pretty cool.
Nvidia trying to please everyone with their upcoming RTX 3060 and new cryptocurrency cards, CMP. Will this really help with the shortages? Or are they doing it just for the money? God damn.
EA changing its ways? Sure looks like it, with EA chief studios officer saying that all the existing franchises are 100 % in the developers hands. Titanfall with Respawn, Dragon Age with Bioware and so on. No more meddling eh? Let's sure hope so! Also Anthem is no more. The big update to the trubled game is no longer in development and has been cancelled. Probably because they didn't have the right resources and workforce to really make something special. Sad though, cause Anthem could've been something.
And lastly, lawsuit between Apple and Epic is still going? Can you name your company "very positive"? Let's talk about it.

Finally a new traditional Nintendo Direct this week! And it was... pretty underwhelming? Well, some cool stuff was announced but where were the big guns? Nintendo, please give us updates. Skyward Sword is coming to Switch with optimazed controls. Will people be more forgiving of this game now? Don't worry, you can still play it the old motion control way.
Live-service games, hate them or love them, are getting updates! Division 2 is getting more content, after players "continues passion and support". This is perfect timing, cause Emil just got addicted to it. Avengers aswell, with Hawkeye; Future Imperfect and next-gen versions. Is this enough to help Avengers? Time will only tell.
Microsoft being a stand up guy, being more supportive of accessibility in games, even going out of it's way to help developers to do just that. Good guy Microsoft. And lastly, we have a discussion on todays consoles and compare them to PCs. It's going to be a lot of blabber, but we think we both got our opinions out there.

Can we move on from CD Project Red? Well, someone definitely can't and have sadly hacked the company, stealing source code from their games. CDPR did not meet the demands from the hackers, and now the source code has been sold on the dark web for 7 million dollars. Oh well.
Borderlands 3 Director's Cut has been revealed and it's not much new with it? Some stuff makes the game more like BL2, but is the new stuff turning the game into a live-service? We hope it does not! Look at Anthem, which are currently getting an update, but next week maybe will be the end of the game. An internal review of the project will decide the outcome.
And E3 2021 is happening this year as a digital event. Is this too late though? Since they skipped last year many publishers/developers have had their own digital event. So what the point? Will even publishers be apart of E3 anymore? Who knows.

Gearbox has been acquired by someone, and it's not Microsoft. Embracer, parent company of THQ Nordic, acquired Gearbox for 1.3 billion dollars (WOW). However 2K confirmed they will still publish Borderlands despite the takeover.
Nintendo and Sony has been going well lately, having impressive earnings. Sony already sold 4.5 million units in 2020 alone which is matching the PS4 launch back in 2013. Nintendo has sold 13.53 million units of the Switch Lite, surpassing the WIi U. Much of that is propably because of the sales of Animal Crossing New Horizons. That game as sold 31.18 million units.

Cyberpunk 2077 (yes, again) finally got it's first official patch, but sadly brings a new game breaking bug. Come on man... Doesn't seem to matter though, because Cyberpunk is the biggest digital launch of all time! Hurray?
Xbox Gold! Have you been drinking? Luckily you soberd up and quickly reversed the outrageous price bump that happened last weekend. It was almost the case that Gold would have been double the price as Playstation Plus! But you can rest easy, Xbox listened to the community.

Does CDPR ever get a break? Apparently not, with an article from Blomberg confirming a bunch of info of the troubled development of Cyberpunk 2077. Is there ever a limit of info from this? No, but this article covers most of it.
On another note, the development of S.T.A.L.K.A.R. 2 is going well! The long awaited sequel is going to have all the nooks and crannies that you expect from a game nowadays. Hopefully it's true.
Custom faceplates are back baby! Both from CMP and dbrand! Customize to your heart's content with several different colors, or just get the black ones. They look pretty good!

The company behind this has been recieving threats that lead to them shutting the whole thing down. What is wrong with people?
Not a new episode without some CDPR news! Co-Founder has made a video explaining the troubles with Cyberpunk 2077. Who is to blame? You probably know who.

News are still in short, so we decided to do a mix of news episode and special episode.
Let's talk about five of our most anticipated games of 2021!** Emil & Jens has different tastes, but that is not a bad thing. Right?
On the news front,Cyberpunk 2077 DLC is free, which yeah, that's probably the right call.
Ubisoft subscription service a part of Xbox Game Pass? Cause why not at this point?
Upcoming game Outriders gets delayed, but will have a open beta where the first five hours of the full game is available to play solo or co-op. Also progress carries over to the full game when that releases on April 1. (No joke!)

Both Emil and Jens have made a list containing the games and we go through them in a messy way.
On the news front, Cyberpunk 2077 is not available on Playstation Store and CDPR is getting a lawsuit. (Happy Holidays...)

Cyberpunk 2077! Oh man, someone fucked up. The game is full of glithces and bugs, but not only that it's unplayable on base PS4 and Xbox One. Framerate issues, texture loadings, crashes, you name it! Cyberpunk has it all! We talk about all of them.
Game streaming rising up?Apparently this is the case, now being the best way to play Cyberpunk. And Emil can vouch for that! He has been playing the game mostly through Geforce Now. And the streaming way may grow even stronger thanks to Stadia being available on IOS. Hurray!
And can't anyone take a joke these days? No, that's the answer. Especially for the game Devotion, who is now banned from PC clients.

Xbox Gamepass is getting bigger, but it comes with a cost.**More games coming and leaving the subscription service. We are starting to see the Bethesda games now with more to come!
Nintendo is getting a quality of life update to it's system. Things that you expect a gaming console to have, but hey it's Nintendo. They have been doing their own thing for the last decade.
PS5 thrives even though the Series X is stronger, by looking at the specs. But Sony has done a nice job with giving the new console to developers so their games are optimized. Xbox may not done this.
And Kratos is joining Fortnite!Does he fit? We don't know really. We suck pretty hard. Anywho, maybe Master Chief and Samus (Metroid) are joing the battle royale aswell. Time will tell!

We caught up on some last weeks news, Project 007!**IO Interactive is behind this new game and after the Hitman 3 details, we really think IO is going to be a good fit for this project. In IO we trust.
Cyperpunk 2077 again(every week man) is going to be a long ass game. But that's not bad. You can choice to loose yourself in that world, but apperently only focusing on the main quest will not be as long as (Toss a coin to your) Witcher 3.
And Game Awards 2020 nominations! We only played some of the nominates, but hey, best three out of six right? No chance we are going to do a Game of the Year episode. We are not really gamers, just a couple of Scalpers! Wait, what?Consider leaving us a nice review if you liked the episode.

Anyway, Capcom has been hacked. Lots of information on upcoming games, sales, and other stuff that surely Capcom doesn't want to be out there in the wild. But, let's talk about it!
Ubisoft Montreal got swatted this week, and luckly nobody got hurt. Why is this funny for people? To prank call and waste precious time that could have been used on real events.
