The pressure's of life do not discriminate. This inevitable truth found a reality in the life of singer/songwriter Alycia Levels-Moore in the summer of 2013. It was then that Alycia learned that a former classmate from Tuskegee University fell victim to the weight of suicide. That same night, her sister attempted to take her life. On her way to Atlanta to be with her, she received a call informing her of the unfortunate news that her grandmother had passed away.
Needless to say, these events left her emotionally drained, fragile, and wrecked. After discussing these happenings with her husband, he encouraged her to navigate through the emotions by using her gifts and to write. It was here that the "More Fight" EP found its genesis.
These events served as a springboard for Alycia to carry a message of hope to not only everyone who inevitably runs into the challenges of life, but also more specifically to carry a message of encouragement to those dealing with the pressures of suicide.
After having a classmate, two sisters, and a brother make attempts to take their lives, Alycia found herself personally connected to the issue of suicide. In her reasearch, she has discovered that in certain demographics, mental health issues are taboo to discuss. As a result, she is partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Through her music and public speaking, she and AFSP are collaborating to raise awareness around suicide prevention so that people who are dealing with things do not have to do so alone. Together they both desire to inspire people with the hope that they always have MORE FIGHT left to live their best life!
