It quickly earned glowing reviews and worldwide attention; leading to co-billings with Buckethead, Joe Bonommassa and other world-class artists as well as numerous endorsements.
Also a highly sought-after bass instructor in Vermont and worldwide, he is the resident bass faculty member at Johnson State College, the founder of the Burlington Music Dojo musical collective in Vermont, and a contributor to the Bass Players United online community. The Bandulus (BAN-DOO-LOOS) are the brainchild of Jeremy Peña, a musician from Austin, Texas. Formerly of Los Skarnales and the Trenchtown Texans, Peña ventured out on his own to create the traditional ska, reggae, and soul sensation that is The Bandulus.
Their first full length album, Ska.Reggae.Soul, was released in 2010 and featured a smattering of well-respected musicians including The Slackers’ Vic Ruggiero and Willy Camero, Patrick Kelly, and Jonny Meyers of The Stingers ATX. Following the release, Peña solidified his live band with musicians from the Austin and San Antonio scenes.
In November 2012, The Bandulus released their second full length album, The Times We Had, which was featured on countless top 10 lists for ska and reggae records. While staying genuine to the 60's style traditional ska, The Times We Had keeps listeners on their toes by crossing genres, but always with heavy soul influence and heartfelt lyrics.
The band’s third full-length album, Love A Woman, was released in January 2020 and is smorgasbord of subgenre. Over 14 tracks, The Bandulus tackle early rock ‘n’ roll, channel heavy soul sounds, add Motown-style harmonies to ska beats, and put a psychedelic spin on contemporary reggae production.
The Bandulus have shared the stage with yesterdays and today’s top ska and reggae acts, including ska originators The Skatalites, Inner Circle, The Wailers, The Slackers, Easy Star All Stars, The English Beat, The Aggrolites, Collie Budz, The Skints, Save Ferris, New Kingston, The Suffers, Western Standard Time, The Pietasters and Los Lonely Boys. They were also a featured artist at the 2019 Victoria Ska and Reggae Festival and will feature at the 2020 Freedom Sounds Ska festival in Cologne, Germany.

The Matt Irie Band started as a one-man show in North Carolina 2006 with vocalist Matt Irie rocking with a DJ at local hip hop shows. Multiple lineup changes over the years brought together a fusion of genres to form the five-piece group they are today. Joined by Larry Holcomb and Joe Watkins on guitars, Will Barkley on drums, and Michael Dorsett on bass and keys, Matt Irie leads what is described as "island infused-Funky Blues." "The Ziggens are an American band based out of Orange County, California, United States, whose self-described style of "cowpunksurfabilly" combines elements of cowpunk, surf, rockabilly, punk, ska, and country. The Ziggens are led by Bert Susanka who sings and plays rhythm guitar. Other members include Dickie Little on lead guitar, Jon Poutney on bass, and Brad Conyers who plays the drums and provides background vocals.The Ziggens have been playing since the early 1990s and have developed a strong following in Southern California.
The Ziggens were contemporaries with Sublime and were originally signed to their Skunk Records label. Their song "Big Salty Tears" was covered and popularized by Bradley Nowell on the Sublime acoustic album. The Ziggens, and more specifically Bert Susanka were also mentioned in the Sublime song "Greatest Hits". Also, their song "Outside" is sampled in the Sublime song "Smoke Two Joints" for the line "Smoked cigarettes 'til the day she died!" The Ziggens contributed a cover of the song "Paddle Out" to the Sublime tribute album Look at All the Love We Found, released in June 2005. The Ziggens' bassist Jon Poutney formed the supergroup Volcano with Meat Puppets frontman Curt Kirkwood, Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh, and Sublime soundman Michael 'Miguel' Happoldt after the breakup of Eyes Adrift. They released one self-titled studio album in 2004. More recently, Bud Gaugh formed the band Jelly of the Month Club, a children's music side project, with Bert Susanka. The Ziggens are currently signed to Cornerstone R.A.S., which is a subsidiary of Skunk Records. Their seventh studio album, Oregon, is due to be released in the summer of 2021."
