Welcome to a new episode of the Roman Gabriel Show. It's a throwback edition, I'll take you back to 1995 and a conversation with NFL Legendary Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Jack Snow. He was the favorite target of Quarterback Roman Gabriel, and one of my favorite Rams. My childhood rowing up always around the team, I remember attending many Rams youth football camps. Instead of going with my dad to be a quarterback, I followed Jack because I always admired his being on the end of the long bomb, leaping and diving to make the great catch. I wanted to be him ! He produced many great memories at the Coliseum thrilling Rams fans everywhere !
Snow was Drafted # 1 from Notre Dame, he enjoyed an illustrious career exclusively with the Rams from 1965-1975. In 1967, his breakout year averaging a career-high 26.3 yards per reception and scored eight touchdowns on his 28 receptions. He was named to the NFL Pro Bowl. Snow gained a reputation for catching the long ball from quarterback Roman Gabriel. He had a reputation of never being caught from behind, and willing to venture over the middle to make the tough physical catches. He possessed sure hands, and always came to play in the big games. He finished his professional career with 340 receptions and 45 touchdowns; his 6012 career receiving yards ranked 30th in NFL history.
After his playing career , he became the Rams Wide Receiver Coach in 1992, he went on to make a name for himself as the Rams Color analyst in LA all the way to St Louis. We lost Jack in 2005 when he developed a staph infection and died at age 62 as a result of complications. Come back with me to 1995 and my conversation with # 84, the White and Blue, Rams receiving great Jack Snow.

NASCAR champion William Byron has ascended auto racing more rapidly than anyone in recent memory. Going into his sophomore season in the NASCAR Cup Series, the driver looks to build on his rookie of the year campaign with a new crew chief, an iconic No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 race car and support from Hendrick Motorsports. Byron has quickly amassed an impressive list of accomplishments – especially considering he first drove a race car just six years ago. Hendrick Motorsports signed Byron, then 18, in August 2016 when he was a record-breaking rookie in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. By the end of his season driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports, he had racked up an astounding seven victories, 3,248 laps led, and three pole positions en route to rookie of the year honors. It was the most successful debut season in series history.
In 2017, he won the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Hendrick Motorsports affiliate JR Motorsports. As Byron competed for a championship in the Xfinity Series, Hendrick Motorsports announced his next – and biggest – career move in August 2017. Not only would he take the next step to the elite NASCAR Cup Series, but it would be in the iconic No. 24 Chevrolet made famous by four-time Cup Series champion and NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon and his storied Rainbow Warriors team. Last year in 2019 he won 5 poles including Daytona. I caught up with the 22-year-old Liberty Student right before this year's Daytona 500. Enjoy this conversation with one of the hottest drivers to come along in NASCAR.

Almirola has made the NASCAR Playoffs in back-to-back seasons (2018-2019). I caught up with him as he was preparing for his Super Bowl - The Daytona 500! “There are two types of athletes in the world,” he said. “There are the athletes that just want to be a part of the show, and there are the athletes who want to make the show. I’m in the latter category. I want the pressure. I want the ball in my hands when it comes to the game-winning shot. I don’t want to have an excuse that my equipment is not where it needs to be. This is that opportunity.” Enjoy getting to know Aric Almirola!
