It appears that the likes of Tim Miller, James Cameron, and Arnold Schwarzenegger are unable to revive the property. Therefore, we are left wondering, is the franchise dead?

They marked an end to the Batman cinematic craze in the 90's. Both films attempted to turn Batman into a lighthearted pop culture phenomenon. Schumacher's films are fun and frequently nauseating.
