The love of God is the fuel that Christians and the church should live on not fear and guilt.
We continue to examine Paul's labors among the Thessalonians and Bereans, but also consider 1 Thessalonians 2 as an example of the spirit with which Paul preached the gospel among them. Gentle as a mother and loving as a father. Paul is a wonderful pattern for gospel laborers in every generation.
Paul moves on from Philippi to Thessalonica. Going into the Synagogue he preached that the Christ must suffer, and that Jesus is the Christ. He is driven out of the city by the Jewish leaders and moves onto Berea to preach the gospel there.
Isaiah is confronted with the true King of Israel. Though Uzziah was gone, the eternal King of Kings yet lives to protect and guide His people. The robe filled the temple, and the Seraphim covered their feet and flew so as not to step on the Lord's robe- We cannot preach Christ until we have been awed by His holiness and touched by His grace and forgiveness-

In the Shadow of Calvary by Hugh Martin he suggests the angel that came to minister to Jesus as he agonized in prayer in the garden worshipped Him. Though brought low in the garden and on the cross, His throne would still be forever and ever. In suffering never forget the glory to come and how incomparable it will be to that suffered now.
The glory of Christ is revealed to Peter, James and John but the theme of his conversation with Elijah and Moses is the cross. The glory would come, but the cross must come first. So many lessons for believers.
Here is a great message that speaks about the connection of our plans and God's providence. What men plan for evil God often works for good in the lives of His people.
Though planning is a reflection of God our creator they are subject to His will and wisdom. We must never trust more in our plans than God. Making plans to the glorify God will always be made with a spirit of submission to His will.

Justification is not the moral renewal of the heart at conversion but the Judicial declaration in the courtroom of heaven at conversion. Declared righteous because of the righteousness of Christ alone. It is not based on our faith but Christ's merit alone-
What does a nation look like when they are abandoned by God- Why does God abandon anyone- Preached by the apostle Paul and Pastor Nichols from a heart that desires all people to repent and be saved-
The context, contrast and comfort of God's word to Isaiah and His people is opened up. You have to have the right shoes for the right activity. Can't wear flip flops to hike through the mountains safely and swiftly. It is the same in gospel warfare. Their are special gospel shoes you must wear in this war and Pastor Nichols does a great job in explaining what they are like.

Baptism is a picture of spiritual realities like our union to Jesus Christ and the regenerating work of the Spirit of God. It is a glorious and fitting symbol that depicts the spiritual baptism of all believers who look by faith to Jesus Christ alone for their salvation-
Pastor Nichols uses the counsel John the Baptist gives converted soldiers to draw out principles for guiding law enforcement. Do not be violent, accuse no man falsely and be content with your wages. There is only one race and it is the human race. There is only one kind of blood flowing through our veins and it is human blood. The Bible teaches the unity of the human race and destroys any foundation upon which racism might be built.

What good is the Lord going to accomplish through all the difficulty and problems our country has-
What if our country become communist- Will it be the end of the Church of Christ- Will the church become extinct like dinosaurs- Absolutely not- Jesus Christ promised to Peter and the other apostles that HE would build His church and the gates of Hell would not prevail against it. The Church will survive no matter what dark and dire political situation overtakes our country. All believers must have the hope of Paul filling their heart and mind-
The hope of our society in political and social turmoil is the gospel of Jesus Christ- Paul was not ashamed of the gospel because he had confidence in the gospel to save all kinds of people from every race, tribe, kindred and tongue. Politicians will never ultimately fix the deep rooted problems we have, only Jesus Christ can and does for all who call upon him-
In these uncertain and possibly country-changing times it is easy to get discouraged. We need to focus on passages like Romans 8-28 and following. These verses provide the evidence that God cares lovingly and intensely for His people. The plan of God in eternity past, the provision of God -His only Son- and the Protection of God all prove He loves and cares for His people. Communism or any other political or social upheaval will never thwart God's good plan for His people or overcome His ability to protect us both now and forever-
In response to the tragic and wrongful death of George Floyd Pastor Nichols begins to uncover the evil of racism and the gospel solution. The focus of this message is the Gospel solution based on Ephesians 3-6-11. The bringing together of Jews and Gentiles in the first century church is an example of the kind of gospel integration and unity all of our churches should strive for through the power and love of God.
