I read the first two pages of the incredible novel The Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys, then tuck into the third chapter of Das Kapital. I say the phrase "20 yards of linen=1 coat" so many times that I started stuttering over these basic nouns. My mouth is tired, but I will not let it apologize.
England is not coming to save the values; they're barely possible to speak out loud any more. All that is left is to fight over what will replace it.
Silvina Ocampo guest-hosts from Buenos Aires, reading two of her stories - "A Doll's Secret memories" and "(Com)passion" - and then continues on with B. d. Spinoza's "Ethics" and Chapter 1, Section 2 from Karl Marx's "Capital". Fun is had by none and all!
Nothing is real until it's sold on the marketplace, exchange value is God, and God must become all, or else we will never be free from the idea that there might be something so utterly not real that we might begin to imagine something utterly else might not just be possible but perhaps even desirable! Make the world a ghost of commodified OneGods or all borders and walls and races and names will become always-already-never having any meaning or value after all!
