As I am on strict rest post my surgery, I found my anger building for what I see on the news and social media. Where I used to numb myself with drugs and sex, I have learned to use healthier avenues to get rid of my frustration, so I write music, go to my studio, and spend hours creating. It is better than any therapy in my opinion. This will be available on all platforms this winter, but here is a sneak peek of the demo before the mastering process. My passion for creating music is a thing of the past.Or so I thought.I imagine a painter gets the same therapy by starting with a blank canvas and then creating an image using different mediums and colors.My colors have always been sound. In high school, the synths of HOOKED ON LOVE by Dead or Alive, and the beats of Man To Man Parish played in my room as I taped Farrah Fawcett posters over my Steve Kelso Colt Posters.Living in fear daily of what would happen if my father found out I was gay. Music saved me then, and I guess it still saves me now.Locking myself in a room for hours, maybe days and just being in a matrix of possible sounds calms me.When I started this mix, I had no intention of sharing it.Many people will hear sounds, and call it not music.But a few of you, that see the world in a different light will enjoy this ride. This is NOT the set list from the tour. I am a huge fan of his but I have to say, I was a bit disappointed with the presentation of the tour. I get you had a budget and could not have the visuals and props that Beyonce would have. But I feel you could have really taken it up a notch by following a set list like this. Not performing Evan Hansen songs, I get you are over it. You're not Madonna yet and you're building a fan base, many from the movie and/or play.I feel not performing them was a mistake. His last tour actually had cleaner and better performances.I think he is a bit lost in his relationship and it's taking precedence over his career.Also, he dances in his music videos, he had so many opportunities to do dancing similar to the videos. Closing, a few costume changes would have brought the excitement level up a notch. I also get you're in love, I don't think bringing his BF on stage is a good move either. He is a product, less is more, so keep a mystery about it. I wish he would have hired an art director for this tour. Giant screens or TV screens around the stage are not expensive, when I was touring we would rent them frequently. I never thought in a million years I would put this on a podcast. It actually never crossed my mind … until tonight. Years ago when I was working on Breakaway The guys I worked with were classically trained. I knew nothing about music and they gave me many of these tracks to listen to. They are classical versions of songs by U2, Cranberries , Eurythmics and more. Their point was for me to understand how layers of different elements can invoke emotion without a vocalist. Years later … When I am stressed and I do not want to hear anyone talk , don’t want to watch TV , and do not want music with lyrics or the club unce , unce , unce. I put this on. Since I recognize the songs some of it I find comforting. When I left work tonight and heard of the Texas school shootings. I just wanted to escape all the media of it and zone out. I didn’t want to think. I wanted to be numb for awhile This is how I do it. I used to use drugs and alcohol to instead. This may be something you like. Or you may hate it. Either or 🤷🏼♂️

I was going to make a tracklist, but after I wrapped this up ( after several fuck ups ) I was finding myself not knowing what song was coming next. I love when Djs sample things and do it well. Mark Anthony on Montreal is the best at this IMO.
This set was originally 4 hours and I did some massive editing.
I chose to delete 2 hours, mostly mainstream 80 songs, I was bored after a demo listen, When Doves Cry, Human League, and a few others got axed. I just wasn't feeling them, Started feeling like a wedding.
There is no better high for me than to watch a dance floor lose their shit when a song comes in and they had no idea it was coming.
Especially when it is an anthem from our younger years. That song that you played a hundred times when someone first broke your heart or the first concert you saw. When I can slip that in without you knowing it's coming it can make you feel like you are on drugs. It is a natural high and I feel this art has left the world of DJing now that anyone can DJ with a laptop.
I enjoy painting an experience for you with sound, on my dance floor or on the treadmill.
I am really happy how this one turned out. It made me smile a lot when I went back and listened to the master copy. And I have been bitchy lately, so imagine what it can do for you.
Enjoy the set, I'm All Out Of Love. Yes, I went there. I remixed fucking Air Supply. And we both know when you're in your car you will put the windows up and sing the lyrics at the top of your lungs, lol.
Remember when someone tells you that you cannot do something. They are wrong. They cant do it. After years of experience I have found most people who see your talent want to hold you back. Don't get in your own way and don't beat yourself up. Enough people are waiting in that line to do that for you.

I was in yoga today and right before class started one of the girls that always stands behind ( I stand in the very front ) me says “ How are you doing ?” I said good…. She replies “ you don’t know do you ?”
I look at her puzzled.
She said “ your buddy, Caleb”
I didn’t reply.
She said “ he was killed” My eyes watered up and I felt like I was hit by a truck. Then without missing a beat the instructor starts the class.
She meant well but I wish she would of told me after class. It took everything I had not to loose it. I wanted to actually leave outside for a moment.
But I realized. That’s what yoga practice is about. Facing head on life’s challenges and getting through them with grace not like a bull in a china shop. So I closed my eyes and dedicated my practice to Caleb.
After class I found out that he and his team died in a crash. No survivors.
Caleb and I were yoga buddies, not much more. He came to my boot camp a few times and said it was too easy. Lol. I tried to beat him down but he was strong as a bull.
Caleb was straight and actually most my friends are. But I remember when he first found out I was gay , I worried that like many other straight guys that he would step back.
Caleb didn’t. He didn’t care.
Caleb was a free spirit.
He was a helicopter pilot for a crisis team that fought forest fires. He actually was in Australia for 6 months fighting fires there and I didn’t know he was back. He loved what he did.
Most guys that do crisis work , are kinda… well full of themselves. He was not. And actually he was the one who told me I should go for helicopter crisis nursing.
So today has been difficult.
It seems so unfair that people who are truly good people are taken from us when there are so many other people I know are terrible humans ; and nothing ever happens to them.
The only thing that helps me get through times like this , when my mind is going to a bad place is remixing music.
I can put my headphones for hours and can shut the world out and how angry I am it right now.
One day I was with Caleb and ABBA came on in my jeep.

One of the reasons this project took so long was because I let these vampires into my life, my heart and my bed.
I was also in a brutal 9-month court battle with my ex-partner, and to make it worse I was not prepared to learn more of his lies as the courts unfolded his true colors.

The most surprising part was learning he had a plan to kill me at the end but did not go through with it. Yet he got the drugs in me then raped me when I was groggy and filmed it for his collection. Which he used to bait guys on Scrif and Grinder.
Imagine having someone inside you and holding you thinking you found your partner , to later on finding out that he wanted you gone band was filing you without your knowledge
And who do you talk to about that ? If I heard someone talking about that I would think they were insane. So I kept it to myself.
And I had to process this while I was working ain a Covid ICU putting people in body bags at the hospital.
I Then I did something stupid. I sent my ex groceries. My thought at the time was I was hoping it could just stop his insanity. It took it to another level. I was not allowed to do that so he filed the complaint and I was put in the general population of the Baltimore State Prison. I was the only white guy in there.
Just when I thought there was no way he could hurt me anymore then he did. It went to a whole new level.
When I finally got out and was able to get home; I bought a bag of blow, a bottle of vodka, and a few razor blades and I sat in the bathtub. I was planning on taking my life.
Until I saw my dogs all sitting in the doorway looking at me. I crawled out of the tub and layer on the floor with them. I cried all night. They never left my side.
It was then that the universe forced me into a fire I did not want to go into. Nor one that I thought I had the strength to endure. Taking a true look at myself and asking why did I let this man do this to me.
It would of been easier to play the victim. But I gave him the scissors multiple times , hoping I would get difficult results.
I died that night , I do not mean physically, I mean spiritually.
I have never been in so much pain , so alone or scared.
I had given all of myself to someone who I just wanted to love me.
Isn’t that what we all want?
And just like my father that rejected me for being who I am.
When I looked in the mirror , I saw a broken 50 year old man but inside was that 4th grader just wanting to be held. To be told it’s going to be ok and mostly that I was loved.
For 50 fucking years that’s al I ever wanted.
And what a cliche it is but quoting the Wizard of Oz when the good witch tells Dorothy. “ you had the power all along “.
Loving yourself , setting boundaries and staying far away from toxic people has to be the hardest lesson we face.
Many choose to numb themselves with sugar , drugs , sex and /or alcohol instead of looking in that mirror.
Fuck, I did for 50 years.
Not anymore.
This album, set or whatever you want to call it is my story. It is my walk through the fire and my rise from the ashes on the other side.
Nobody will ever take away my confidence again.

I wanted to do this for a while but was always so overwhelmed when I looked at Barry's catalog of remixes. I thought, how in the hell do I pick 15 - 20 of his mixes to put on a podcast dedicated to him. One night I was on a plane, and I opened this project up and just went with my gut on the remix choices. I picked the ones that most influenced me to become a remixer Dj when I was at COBALT in Detroit.
Dive In The Pool, yeah. Barry love you, but if I hear that song again I will put a fork in my eye. So I left it off this podcast.
Years later, my DJ career took off, and I found myself opening or playing along with some of the best gay DJs in North America.
But nobody intimidated me as much as Barry. I mean, cmon. He worked with Cher, Whitney, Madonna, and the list continues. We crossed paths many times over the years when I was touring. He always was nice; we just nodded to one another and moved on.
Until one night, I was DJing in Palm Springs, CA. The club's sound system was crashing all night. It was horrible. One of the club employees comes into the DJ booth and says, Mr. Barry Harris wants to know if this remix is yours? I was playing a mix of mine of Let The Music Play by Shannon.
It had to be one of the worst sets I have played in my life; I was over their sound system; it was just a joke. And I was like, are you fucking kidding me? This is the night Barry hears me spin a set.
But I said yes, he left. Then he came back and said, " Mr Harris would like to meet you
After my set, they guided me to a VIP area where he laid back on a couch with his feet up and about 2 -3 boys around him.
I walked up and was like, hey Barry, what's up?
Barry looks up, " Don't worry about the system, I know how horrible that is for you. You are very talented Bill don't let that ruin your night."
I said Thank You, laughed and left.
