This week the Tribe Assembly turned 5!
In line with VISION SUNDAY our lead pastors Ferdy & Lily share some amazing news with us. They reacquaint us with the vision of the house & the body of Christ at large, while charging us to focus on cultural renewal by the way of the gospel through love in all spheres, and keeping character at our core.
Holy Ambitions, Holy Violence, Holy Imaginations - The three things Jesse Dan-Yusuf says we need to take territories. Speaking from 1 Chronicles 4: 9- 10, he teaches on why the children of God should take and expand territories.
God is calling us to expansion; to take over territories, stretching out to the ends of the earth to dominate kingdoms and systems.
In our final episode of the ambitions series "Expanding Territories", we take a deeper look at what the great commission in action looks like with the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Happy New Year! Welcome to the first episode of the new series AMBITION. For us to move in the direction God has called us to for the year, here are a few things we will need to take up along the way; Pray first, Fast first, Serve first, Give first and Love first.

WE ARE THE MOVE OF GOD
On the 31st of December the Tribe Abuja held her watch night service to usher the children of God into the year ahead. Leaning fully on God's word to understand the true meaning of prophecy regarding the direction of the year 2022.
We established that we were done waiting for the move of God, that we were rising up to the privilege of our responsibility to be the move of God in the year ahead.
Jesus Our King: As we go deeper into the reason for Christmas, we're reminded of God's perfect plan - Sending Jesus as King to rule and reign while bringing justice, eternal life, love, righteousness and the overall law of the Lord to pass here on earth.
I'm the final installment of our Jesus series, we see just how we are called to reign alongside Him and what that should look like for us.
Following last week's discussion we see Jesus as "Prophet": The one who reveals God's will and heart to the world.
We see what it means for the gift of prophecy to be used to build the church and how that mantle has been passed on to us as co-heirs and ambassadors of the kingdom of heaven.
Understanding the roles Jesus had to play in the completion of the salvation story is important to us as believers. This is so we can get a full picture of the commission that He handed over to us to continue.
As we explore this series of Jesus as priest, prophet and King, celebrating His birth will surely take on an even deeper meaning for us.

Our dedication to the kingdom walk cannot be dependent on our emotions or moods. We are well aware how some days leave us parched yet at loss for words in the place of prayer and worship.

Hebrews 11 is popularly referred to as "The Hall of Faith". In it we see the accounts of most of our leaders of faith & we are stirred up. We sometimes forget that some of these faith leaders didn't live to see those promises come to pass.
So how do we recognise God's sovereignty in the face of conflict? How do we stay faith-full when life's troubles try to drain us?
"But our way is not that of those who shrink back to destruction, but [we are] of those who believe [relying on God through faith in Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by this confident faith preserve the soul."

To Build A Nation
Nehemiah was a man we are told was grieved by the state of his nation. And his response was to rise up, fast, pray and literally build his nation even in the midst of opposition.
Today we learn that the gifts God has given each of us is to build the world in front of us. Using these gifts to bring God's will to pass here on earth and to save the world around us.

In Sunday school we were taught that J-O-Y meant - Jesus first, Other in between and Yourself last.
In learning to spell JOY this week, @evadanyusuf takes us through the importance of anchoring our faith in Christ & how it is the essence of our joy in this walk of faith.
DIVE: On Patience and Steadfastness
When our faith is tested it produces a deeper virtue than patience in us. This is where we see our steadfastness come to light.
Our depth in the knowledge of God's word and His promises is the anchor that keeps our souls in the midst of those refining seasons.
We are reminded in this short exhortation that our joy should remain steadfast and sure. Just like Caleb and Joshua, our report should remain that God is indeed faithful to save us even in the midst of dire circumstances.
The nature of God's love towards us is lavish, bountiful, excessive & constantly willing to pour into us until we exist in an overflow. In this episode on Joy & Generosity we continue our study of the book of Philippians, shedding more light on what generosity should look like for us believers; how to recognize it, receive it and also how to be generous to those around us.
The cares of this world may try to weigh us down, but we continue to draw strength from God. We've been charged to "be strong" and in this episode on Joy & Strength, we learn that joy is not solely God consoling us through hard seasons, but Him imparting us with His joy which empowers us to do His will.

Our joy is hinged on the confidence we have in Him. It is the assurance we have that we are and will be alright as long as we are rooted and grounded in Him. Joy is not circumstantial, situational or flickery. It is rooted in the integrity of God. How then do we fully receive this gift and apply it to everyday of our lives?

Is there a God? What is God like? Where did human beings come from? Where did the universe come from? Are we just highly evolved apes? What is the meaning of human life? What is the purpose of our lives? Is there an afterlife? What is it like? Where do we get our moral values from? How can we make the world right? People will answer these questions according to their worldview.
Worldviews are like belly buttons, everyone has one we just don’t talk about it often. Everyone has a worldview, but not everyone is aware of their worldview and how it shapes the world. Your worldview affects what you see and how you see it! Just like a lens. Your worldview determines what you think is possible and impossible. What you think is good and bad. It shapes what you believe about everything and what you’re prepared to believe about anything.

Liar, Lunatic or Lord? Sometimes called the Lewis' Trilema to illustrate that Jesus' claim to Lordship either made him a lunatic, a liar or Lord as He truly was. Jesus' statement in John 14:6, it seems, is one the statements the world has issues with. How can a man born in an obscure town, lived as a poor carpenter claim to be the Messiah prophesied about?
In our Cross Examined sermon series, a journey into investigating the truth claims of Jesus and Christianity, it is important we weigh Jesus' statements and what He claimed to be. Since some secular sources prove the historicity of Jesus, we must ask and understand why this man claimed to be the Messiah and if we are to take him and his claims seriously.
There's also lots of evidence and proof of the Resurrection, the Resurrection that birthed our faith. Because Jesus died, was buried and resurrected it proved him to be the Son of God and Saviour. And because of that we worship him and believe all his claims including him being "the way, the truth and the life". Why do we serve Jesus? Was he just a Good Teacher? Was he a liar, a lunatic or Lord?

Upon their release they were warned to stop preaching the name of Jesus. When Jesus was leaving he told his disciples to wait in Jerusalem so that they may clothed with power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them. The Spirit of God was prayed for by Moses, prophesied by Joel and promised by Jesus. We are called to be witnesses of Jesus and that's why we must wait for the power of the Holy Spirit or in other words we must be Men on Fire.
