The Seychelles islands: an archipelago of 115 islands in the Western Indian Ocean, just off the East African coastline. What most people don’t know is that Seychelles has a dark history associated with slavery since the islands were first settled 250 years ago, and for the next few decades the islands would be used as a strategically important base for the storage and transportation of Africans captured on the mainland.
