COVID-19 has been continuing its rampage through literally the entire United States for several months now, with positive cases skyrocketing and Intensive Care Units throughout the nation stretched beyond capacity. With the Thanksgiving Holiday just a week away, a weary nation grapples with the prospect of risking a traditional gathering with friends and family, or taking the safer route and limiting the scope of holiday celebrations.

Valley Behavioral Health Chief Operating Officer Rebecca Brown joins Valley Fit APRN Clare Eggett to discuss Valley's continued efforts to check the spread of infection throughout the agency. Valley serves a very vulnerable population, but the virus has been gaining access to Valley programs from staff that get infected from gatherings outside of work. We discuss the importance of limiting personal social interactions for the safety of Valley clients and staff, and what can be done to limit the spread of infection.

Clare and Becky also discuss the importance of limiting family gatherings during the upcoming holiday, and how making the decision to sacrifice large family gatherings this year could ensure that those vulnerable family members are still with us when a vaccine is finally accessible.
