God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
Be faithful to pray as intercessors who are fully alert and giving thanks to God. 3 And please pray for me, that God will open a door of opportunity for us to preach the revelation of the mystery of Christ, for whose sake I am imprisoned. 4 Pray that I would unfold and reveal fully this mystery, for that is my delightful assignment.
5 Walk in the wisdom of God as you live before the unbelievers, and make it your duty to make him known. 6 Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith. (The Passion Translation)
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect:
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
We are still searching the scriptures, and proclaiming the good news of salvation.
Today’s topic is about ‘Depression;’ and the first scripture that comes to mind is Matthew 11:28: Jesus said:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of sight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.
Very truly I tell you; whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy, without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Give and it shall be given unto you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
