The volunteer nature of local church ministry teams can be challenging on many levels. But people committed to you and the church want the ministry to be effective. Once they truly support you as the leader, they will invest a lot to make the mission happen.
Most teamwork is centered around relationships, not institutional titles or structures. Once you connect with the best people for the roles in your ministry, you want to give them a great experience of being a part of the ministry with you.
Getting your team in place and keeping them engaged in the mission and ministry should be a priority for senior leaders in the church and the church staff in their respective ministry areas.
Here are five thoughts for getting your people involved in the ministry with you as the leader:

Nearly everyone can think of someone who is their boss and someone for whom we are the boss. Whether it's paid work teams, volunteer teams or even the home - we can become a better boss! Being a boss doesn't mean you have to know it all and get it right every time. But probably more along the lines of serving your people - helping to make life easier for them as you, together, rise to the challenge of doing excellent stuff!

I recently read a book by twin sisters, Emily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski, called Burnout. The tagline is intriguing: The Secret To Unlocking The Stress Cycle.
Everyone has both stress and stressors. Those won't ever go away as long as we are alive. What is important is not what comes at us, but how we deal with these stresses.
According to the authors, we want to complete the stress cycle. There's no reason to have unneeded stress (and all the physiological changes it brings) for any longer than necessary. To break free, you need to "close the stress cycle."
Here are some ways to complete your stress cycle:
Talk about it
Engage in Physical Activity
Make a Plan
Remember the Future
Sing or Praise

Jokes On The Blog
Romans 12:6-8
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Tim and Clint sit down with Dr. Chris Bounds during Beulah Holiness Camp where he was one of the preachers. It was an incredible week of ministry, but this conversation was centered around the early church. Chris is from Wesley Seminary in Indiana and part of his expertise is in the early church - the first 500 years.
A few highlights:
Favorite verse: Matthew Chapter 1:21 - Jesus is given his name is to save us from our sin, our personal sin but also the sins committed against us. Jesus comes to free us from all the sins and wounds that come being enslaved in sin.
Too often we idolize the New Testament church, but it wasn’t the pristine beauty we often associate with it. The early church was similar to today – dealing issues, dealing with struggles and overcoming only by the grace of God.
We’re living in a time that is similar to the early church – in that most people in our post Christian world no longer consider the church relevant. It’s more like we’re in the minority and seeking ways to be salt and light in the our culture.
We’re called to enter into pain and suffering of the world around us.
We don’t judge the world, they can’t help doing what they do not knowing Christ. But we do judge ourselves as believers.
The mind of Christ is nothing more and nothing less that taking the posture of a servant.
We have no idea of what true persecution is.
Encouragement for local church leaders today…. The focus of discipleship.
It was great to have him share on the Go Harvest Podcast and we hope it's an encouragement to each believer and ministry leader.

Tim and Clint talk about this concept of the 5% in life - doing the things only you can do -- examples include being a great husband to your wife, or a great parent to your children. Exercise, spiritual growth, eating right all fall into this small category in life of things that only you can do. Don't let those slide or become choked out by the whirlwind of ministry, schedules and work.

Speaking Greatness is something each person can do and it has major implications on your acquaintances, your work associates, your family, children, and spouse. It doesn't cost anything other than the confidence to know that as the Lord blesses your life, you're able to step away from being self-focused to thinking about others. Before you speak, THINK:
Is it True?
Is it Helpful?
Is it Inspiring?
Is it Necessary?
Is it Kind?
Tim and Clint talk about the idea of speaking greatness.
This concept came from the book, Legacy Builder.

Tim Price talks with Bob Pritchett who is the founder, President and CEO of Faithlife – best known for creating Logos Bible Software.
Today we're talking about the passion of him and his team to help solve the frustrations of local church ministry leaders from senior pastors to worship leaders. Too often, our systems of getting great message slides, songs and follow-up videos from the messages are too burdensome, especially for pastors and worship leaders serving in churches without staff team members.
Faithlife has just released Equip that will allow Worship leaders to have access to everything they need in one place. It gives them access to a huge music database while allowing them the ability to collaborate with other Pastors and church leaders to make sure the entire worship experience is cohesive. More about how they can specifically help in the worship arena is here: https://faithlife.com/products/equip/solutions/worship
And pastors will love the great ways the program will help create message slides as you are preparing your message.
"People go into ministry to teach, love people, serve and preach the gospel. They didn't sign up to fill in forms on computers all day! We need to save as much time as we can on those things so we can get to the work of ministry."

There are people around who need a message, a word from the Lord. They need to hear God's promise and that the future is going to be bright. You be the one to share that message.
Ez. 37
37The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. 2He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out. 3Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?”
“O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.”
4Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! 5This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again!

Tim Price talks with Jeff Koziatek about how too many leaders base their self worth on what they do. Here's how you can break free.
ABOUT JEFF:
I help top performers gain more personal freedom and professional success by equipping them with the superpower ability to say NO.
It’s deeply personal. It used to be me.
I was running the race – competing with everyone, trying to be the best at everything. I was never satisfied and a certifiable workaholic. I practiced the glorification of busy.
My focus was on everyone else, the next step, the next client, and the next project. I was never fully present where I was. I “did” a lot and missed a lot. I avoided pain and, consequently, never really felt joy. I did not know who I was or what I had.
Then – I hit a breaking point...

Step One – Define what you want to be and do. What I’d like to do:
What I’d like to be:
Step Two: Identify an Influential Person. Think about how this individual has contributed to your life. This person may be a parent, work associate, mentor, pastor, friend, family member, or neighbor. Answer the following questions, keeping in mind the person and your personal goals on what you want to be and do.
Step Three – Define your Life in Roles. You live your life in terms of roles: father, son, daughter, mother, friend, neighbor, boss, pastor, musician, cousin, CEO, lifeguard, baby sitter, student, athlete, etc. Define up to seven life roles and then write these roles in the places provided. Write a brief statement of how you would most like to be described in that particular role. You will gain perspective and balance by identifying your life roles. (Example: Role #1 Husband. I would like to be described as… fill in the blanks with a few words, descriptions).
Roles & Statements:
Step Four – Write a Draft of your Personal Mission Statement. Roughly 50 words, using the framework from the first three steps, take a first draft stab at your statement and go with it for a while to see if it inspires you.
