Delighted to have family lawyer Zoe Bloom of BloomBudd LLP as my guest this week on the podcast talking about what she does best - helping those most in need of strategic legal thinking to ensure they exit a marriage with some financial security plus she shares her own ‘starter marriage’ experience and how she got out.
We talk about independence and empowerment especially for women thinking about, starting out on the path or going through divorce. And why it’s time for women to grow their confidence through divorce by taking ownership of their finances, becoming their own lighthouse and staying in their power.

"A wonderful and powerful guide to anyone in the throes of divorce, or navigating the aftermath. Tosh supports us with a kinder approach, to help build resilience and soothe many of the struggles we typically associate with divorce." E Lewis
"Tosh gives you the opportunity to grow kindness as a superpower, respond to difficult situations with clarity and look forwards to a peaceful future. A must for anyone going through and acrimonious divorce in order to protect the essence of self. I will use this book as a guide for the future with regards to co parenting in harmony . As always brilliantly put into relatable words." Amazon customer
Why feeling the feels is so important! I write more about these in my book. If you want to make way for the good stuff to come in and prevent emotional baggage weighing you down in your future, then this is the episode for you. Learning to release built-up emotions that come from those painful, difficult and challenging thoughts that are part of divorce is what you can do, every time they rise up inside you. I share in this short episode ways for you to release these emotions that come with the Divorce Mind Monkeys. The more you release the more onion layers fall away... so take a listen and find out how!
It isn't always Happy Valentines Day certainly when going through separation or divorce and even for many who are still married. So how can you change your thoughts from feeling heartbroken and unloved to celebrating those who do love you and those you love instead - including yourself!
Listen in for tips, changing harsh negative thoughts to more gentler positive ones and of course some time out for you.

Tosh is delighted to be chatting to her guest in this episode of the Divorce Goddess Podcast. Sarah Armstrong is a good divorce proponent who, based on her personal experience wrote "The Mom’s Guide to a Good Divorce: What to Think Through When Children are Involved" (www.gooddivorce.guide).
She defines a good divorce as one that puts the children first. Of course, most divorcing parents say they want to do what’s best for the children but walking that walk through the stresses of a divorce is challenging at best.
Sarah’s valuable advice and actionable strategies can help. What's so interesting about Sarah is that -- by day -- she is Vice President of Global Marketing Operations at Google, who has mentored both men and women her entire career.
After hours, she is an avid “good divorce” proponent whose personal passion is sharing the keys to having a good divorce with moms everywhere.

Delighted to be talking to family lawyer Connie Atkinson of Kingsley Napley LLP about divorce and relocation. Whether you or your ex wants to move away, we talk about the impact it can have on those you love and your children's experience of living as a two-parent family moving forwards. Not forgetting the why, when it is done mindfully, how it can affect all of your lives more positively moving forwards.
Work, schools and family are all important considerations when going through a divorce and, the quality of a much already changed life can be affected not only by the rising cost of living, fuel and house prices, but the ease of access and time with both parents, all of this going into the recipe of where you call your post-divorce home.

Julie Budge is an award-winning Founder & CEO of My Sisters’ House Womens Centre in Coastal West Sussex. She has thirty+ years of working in various roles in the voluntary community sector, with an expertise in fundraising and a passion for helping women in need.
In 2014 she sat around her kitchen table with a few women she knew, and they formed the plans for the first women’s centre in West Sussex. Now the centre is a major key player in the landscape of women's services in West Sussex not only employing 26 women , supported by 50+ volunteers but supporting some 120+ women per month suffering multiple disadvantages such as abuse, mental health, poverty, homelessness, unemployment and more.
During the pandemic – the Centre remained operational and provided key frontline services to women most in need. Appearances on GMTV Lorraine with their Patron Dame Julie Walters, and prime-time coverage of the centre on a Panorama documentary called ‘escaping your abuser’ propelled the centre into national media. During lockdown Julie wrote about the journey ‘from kitchen table to women’s centre’ and the stories of the women who use the services.
Dame Julie Walters said the book is “Beautiful , so brave & wise, ultimately uplifting , even it did make me cry several times”. In Nov 2020 Julie received 2020 Women of the Year – Women in the Community Award.

It doesn’t make you a doormat or a pushover.

It’s not being triggered
It’s holding yourself accountable
It’s responding not reacting

I've gone off route a little with this having had a client today apologising and calling herself an 'idiot' and a 'fool'. This makes me sad so I've focused on self-forgiveness and included a 10 min meditation on how to forgive yourself (which let's be honest needs to happen first). It begins around 9mins.
The 4 steps are: I'm sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you
Enjoy, try to practice often if you are beating yourself up, self-kindness always x

Today on the podcast I am talking to children’s author Lyndsi Richards about her debut book A Tuesday Kind of Love in which she reminds children whose parents are no longer together, that love and respect for one another can still exist in their separate homes.
Lyndsi, originally from Hawaii and now living in Los Angeles, is a single mom of 4 year old twins.
This vibrant and vulnerable picture book follows the love story of gorilla Lani and monkey Kanoa and their journey to becoming parents. But after their twins Lili and Koi are born, they begin arguing and missing the lives they had when they were on their own. They make the difficult decision to separate, but are determined to show their children that they still appreciate one another, as Kanoa swings down and brings the mother of his child flowers every Tuesday.
We talk about the:
“Love is understanding, forgiving and respectful. It can still be powerful and pure even if you set it free.”

Tosh chats to Martine Louis a Money Coach who helps women entrepreneurs and organizations to transform their relationship with money to develop a successful and sustainable business.
Main learnings:
Backed by over 35 years experience in finance - retail, business, private and international banking – Martine has added a philosophical and spiritual dimension to her practice as an asset manager gained through her studies, Asian philosophies and interest in psychology and specifically the work of Carl Jung.
Having made a choice to join her companion in the UK and leave the comfort of her executive management position and financial security she found for the first time in her life she was without pay and income. Through this experience, deliberately chosen she faced the fear of 'lack'. She felt insecure, lost her confidence and sense of purpose in life. She discovered Money Coaching which literally transformed her life.
Martine’s visionary mind is a little rebellious - love a bit of this!! And she is riding the wave of the new economy to share her knowledge, techniques and unique process she developed, to bring entrepreneurs and organizations with insights and profound changes, as well as transforming their relationship with money.
Martine now explores the fundamental themes of the relationship that everyone has with money, passing all her knowledge and experience to the people she coaches.

Tosh has the pleasure of talking to Nikki DeBartolo and Benjamin Heldfond Co-Founders of Our Happy Divorce, a service that offers guidance on creating a post-divorce happy, modern family and Authors of "Our Happy Divorce - How Ending Our Marriage Brought Us Together".
Why they made the decisions they did to support a 'happy divorce' and focus on their Son through the process. This is an honest, frank and authentic conversation with two great, kind and generous people sharing their 'why' to help, support and inspire others thinking about or going through a divorce to choose a kinder, more compassionate and ultimately a happier path.
Nikki DeBartolo understands the impact of a loving family and how it creates a solid foundation for the future for a person navigating through life, love, marriage, and motherhood.

As Executive Vice President of DeBartolo Holdings and the DeBartolo Family Foundation, Nikki has made it her mission to give back to her community in every way possible, from supporting local grassroots movements to national charities, she has been part of multiple initiatives, giving back to her community, including, Metropolitan Ministries, Meal on Wheels, The Boys and Girls Club, The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, and the HCSO Freddie Solomon Christmas Event.
She is proud of the accomplishments that the DeBartolo Family Foundation has been able to share with nonprofits and enjoys when those moments come to life, making the Tampa Bay community – where she lives with her husband, Chad, son, Asher, and their two dogs – feel more like a family.
Ben Heldfond understands the detriment divorce can cause in the lives of children, as his parents’ divorce instilled a deep commitment to 'do' better for his children one day.
He is also the owner of Heldfond Holdings, LLC, a company that invests in a wide variety of companies, including real estate, private equity and venture capital. His corporate career began more than three decades ago in real estate career, where he played an integral part in the company’s development acquisitions and diversified investing transactions. Gratitude has the power to transform everything; our perceptions, our experiences and our state of mind. So many of us come to this journey with a whole heap of hurts, disappointments and fear. Feeling grateful is something that just feels so far from where you are – be grateful for divorce – come on!!! You may be feeling full of the things you haven’t got and all the things that have gone wrong… however, this is where the benefits of gratitude step up to your table. It may sound too simple to even think it can make a difference – we experience life as being difficult and something that is easy to change how we are feeling doesn’t quite make sense, trust me on this – it does!

Rebuilding and using that anger and pain has become the motivation for WorththeWar.
