Rob Manfred continued his subtle dance of bad faith negotiating this week when he claimed he had the "framework" of a deal with Tony Clark, then owners threw a hissy fit when the union countered their proposal, all while the number of Covi-19 cases continue to spike in both states that host spring training, throwing the whole enterprise into question. We talked all about that, about Manfred's future in MLB, Garrett Mitchell's immediate future and the potential for expansion teams and realignment. Finally, we discussed our favorite non-Brewers growing up.

The MLBPA finally had enough of the owners stall tactics this week and just told the commissioner to tell them where and when to show up to start the season. We talked all about that, whether most owners even like baseball or if it's just an investment, and just how badly did MLB screw up back in March. Then it was onto an extended discussion of the Brewers five picks from this week's amateur draft, your obligatory European soccer question and Jaymes' favorite color.

MLB ownership submitted an offer to the MLBPA on Monday that would force them to take a major cut in pay from their agreed upon deal in March and the players aren't having any of it and neither are Jaymes, Paul or Ryan. The guys went on to discuss how this proposal was really a stealthy way to finally impose the owners dream salary cap, how it does little to nothing practically to actually get baseball on the field and how it's likely just setting the union up to take the fall in the public's eye if no baseball is able to be played in 2020. After that, it was onto the owners decision to unilaterally impose a 5 round MLB draft this June, and the inevitable postponement of the 2021 World Baseball Classic.

With minimal baseball news to discuss this week, we decided to do a fantasy draft of all time Brewers. A player only needs to have played one game for the team to be eligible, but the choice of cumulative value versus peak is left up to you to decide. You can find a link to the results here.

After 121 episodes with Steve, JP and Ryan as the primary hosts of Milwaukee's Tailgate, the time has come for some changes. Both Steve and JP have decided to step away from the weekly grind and will no longer be regular members of the podcast. This week's episode is a goodbye to that era, but also features discussions about the slow holiday weeks, how the third base and bullpen situations might still change, and of course, a few arguments and laughs.

After some initial hesitation to continue on without them, Ryan decided to reach out to a few people to team up to carry on. That team came together so quickly and seamlessly that going forward became a no-brainer of a decision. So, while this will be the last episode with the original cast, this will not be the final episode of Milwaukee's Tailgate.

The new group joining Ryan are all familiar Brewers online presences as well as veterans of MKE Tailgate. Jaymes L. has been writing on the Brewers at various websites for over a decade and will take over in Steve's role as host. Paul Noonan, the host of our sister Packers pod, Reporting as Eligible, will take on a full time role after being Tailgate 1.0's most frequent guest. Finally, Brad Ford will be taking over for JP on the Minor League Extra and, from time to time, on the regular podcast as well.

So join our new group next week on Milwaukee's Tailgate podcast.
