It’s the end of an era! Today is a bittersweet day as we say goodbye to something really good to make room for something even better.

Welcome to our last episode of Scaling up…

The show that we’ve grown over the last two and a half years and the community that we’ve fostered that’s turned into something really special.

On today’s final episode, I’m sharing behind the scenes into what’s coming next and why you won’t want to miss it.

I also have some final thoughts that you can take to the bank… literally.

So come with me as we put a cherry on top of this show - because in essence, what we’re doing is exactly why we started this show in the first place - we’re scaling up! We’re going to our next level and I’m challenging you to do the same!

Welcome to our very last pep talk!

It’s a simple one. It’s my wish for you as we close down Scaling Up and head into this new podcast that we’re launching.

Are you pursuing what you are being called to?

Not because of where the money is, not because of what the market is calling for, not because of expectations society has placed on you… but because there is no other option. Because you know that if you don’t do it, you will feel like you have failed yourself.

It’s scary and uncertain, and it may go against the norm, but it is for you.

Sometimes we drive ourselves bonkers trying to determine what our true purpose is. The question I always ask myself is: is this for me, or is this bigger than me?

Your true purpose should have an impact that is bigger than just you.

To commemorate the last few years of Scaling Up, we wanted to do a “Best Of” episode to compile some of our favorite episodes. So if you’re looking for an episode that is going to be loaded with nuggets of gold, this is the episode for you!

Today we’re talking about the difference between popularity and leadership. There’s often a misconception that those two words are synonymous, and that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Popularity is not synonymous with leadership, and believing that it is can actually be dangerous. To honor the calling that you have, you have to live within a set of core values. Those core values should serve as your true north.

But if you mistake being popular with being a leader, you might have a bend toward that popularity because it feels good! We all like to be liked.

When you start to sway toward what feels good over what’s right, you move away from that set of values that are truly the stepping stones toward your purpose.

Leadership is not always doing what’s popular, but doing what’s right.

Today’s episode is short and sweet, but really important for me to share:

College is not the end goal for our kids.

The cultural norm says that it should be. For the past couple of decades in our country, it has been a given that in order to be “successful” as an adult, you will probably have to go to college.

When I was growing up, that was definitely my trajectory. My parents valued higher education, so there were really no other options on the table for me. The question wasn’t if I would go to college, but where.

I wasn’t bothered by it or pressured by it, it just was. That’s just what everyone was doing. College was the default.

College is where so many of us go, or went, because we thought we need to in order to be of value in our society. But this is actually so far from the truth today. So this episode is aimed specifically at debunking that myth.

My listeners here on scaling up have been so supportive of me since the day I launched this podcast at nearly full-baked pregnant in the dead of the most oppressively cold winter here in Wisconsin.

It’s been harder than I expected to wind down this show to gear up for what’s next.

But today, I wanted to tell you a little bit more about where my heart is being called and why I’d love for you to come along for the ride!

Today’s episode is full of gratitude and will give you a glimpse into the future…

I think it’s safe to say that this is one of the most important things for you to learn how to discern, as both an entrepreneur and just a person living in our modern world: how do you know what’s a good opportunity vs. a “shiny” opportunity?

Everyone loves a good opportunity! But part of really elevating into your next level means discerning which opportunities are the right ones.

Sometimes, they’re such great opportunities it would seem crazy to say no.

Other times, it’s tough to decipher whether it’s something that would be a launching pad or ultimately an anchor.

Discernment is a key discipline in both leadership and successful entrepreneurship and it requires your next level of wisdom. So today I’m talking to you about how to discern which opportunities are for you and which ones are not.

Let’s tap into it!

I’ve gone back and forth on whether I want to participate in this conversation in any capacity, but I’ve had enough people reaching out asking about my thoughts that I decided today’s the day.

I have a very strong opinion on the Rachel Hollis drama, and apparently it’s an unpopular opinion. I’ve been reading and listening to other people’s opinions, and it’s just so not mine.

My first reaction when I saw the infamous video was to disregard it, honestly. I have zero interest in getting roped into this nonsense. Let me tell you why.

Let’s talk about doing something new and uncomfortable.

I’m not necessarily just talking about your business. So much of finding success entrepreneurship is about who you are becoming in the process.

I can do tough things. You can do tough things. We can do the things that we don’t want to do. We can even gain wisdom and confidence from doing these hard things.

What is it in your world that you’ve been avoiding or hesitating on? Put yourself in the position to make it happen and allow yourself to be empowered to a whole new level.

There are some things in life that just suck.

But sometimes these hard seasons are literally designed for us, at the perfect moment, and we often can’t see just how valuable these things are while we are going through them. And honestly, even in hindsight sometimes, we still just remember these moments as really tough.

But what if these seasons are a blessing to you in ways that you can’t see or ever know fully?

I kinda spilled the beans on social media the other day.

I know I’ve been a little bit elusive about what’s coming down the pike for me, for us, for our company. There are both some legal and strategic reasons I can’t fully share everything yet.

But today’s episode will give you a glimpse into what we’re building for in the future, and I hope it will help you in your own path to discern what is the best path for you and how to know how to build, create, and move forward in a way that is for the future version of you in your business. I don’t want you to stay stuck in the reactionary model of business like so many entrepreneurs.

Today’s episode is dedicated to where you’re going and helping you get there.

I see a major problem happening. We get to see what entrepreneurs are doing daily because of social media. But what you have to remember is, everyone gets to choose what they put forth. It could be true, it could be untrue, it could be cultivated behind the scenes to look a certain way when the reality is not like that. So this pep talk is just a reminder to not fall for this -- this being the assumption that other people are rocking their biz and you are trying to run with cinder block shoes.

People spend so much time making themselves appear a certain way that is not actually true. And then it gives us the misconception of where they’re really at, and then we compare ourselves to something that isn’t even reality.

Today we’re doing something a little bit different on the show!

We have a special guest, Chelsea Clarke, the owner of both Her Paper Route and Blog for Sale. She helps investors and content creators buy and sell niche online businesses and blogs.

We haven’t talked about this topic before on the show, but we do constantly talk about different ways to bring more revenue into your business. How can you do things to become your own investor so that you don’t have to go into debt and so that you have the money that you need to pour back into your business to continue to grow. Often you have to spend money to make money in business, and this is one way to make that money.

This might sound like something that is totally out of your wheelhouse - you might not be a blogger or even interested in flipping websites, but trust me: you want to hear this episode! There are some amazing income opportunities down this path, so this may be a route you want to consider.

Let’s get to the show!

A couple of weeks ago, my husband, Michael, was away. I wanted to get a workout in, so I dragged all three kids downstairs to “do it with me.”

I was following along with the program on the screen, when my son all of a sudden was like, “Mom, wait! Stop! You can’t start the next move yet!” And I asked him why, and he said, “You didn’t finish the last one!” I tried to argue with him and tell him that I did finish it, and he replied, “No, he said you had to do the move 12 times, and you only did it 10 times!”

And to be honest, at first I was annoyed and wishing that I just had a moment alone to do this workout. And then I remembered: I want to be the kind of person who does the extra rep, not the kind of person who short changes herself because things are getting tough.

Ultimately, I was so proud of my son for calling me out because we want to raise children that work hard and go above and beyond.

This was such a stark reminder to me that our kids are always watching. They pay attention to everything we do, and every little thing is affecting them. We are literally forming our children’s reality and beliefs, long into adulthood.

So start to become more aware of the job you signed up for. Your kids are watching you. It’s exhausting and it’s tough and it wears on you, but it’s the role you signed up for.

Trust me when I tell you that this episode is going to be one of your all time favorites!

So yeah, he has blazed a path in entrepreneurship and podcasting. You don’t want to miss this episode!

John’s first traditionally published book, The Common Path to Uncommon Success, is being released tomorrow. He breaks many of those steps down in this episode, and it is exactly how he built his own business from the ground up. It is truly going to blow your mind!

Without further ado, the myth, the man, the legend himself, John Lee Dumas!

I might ruffle a few feathers with this pep talk, but I’m okay with that.

Now, I’m all for celebrating your wins and looking back at how far you’ve come.

This month is Women’s History Month, a month where we look back on our history and celebrate how far we, as women, have come.

But the truth is, I don’t think we need a special day or month to validate how capable we truly are.

There are places in the world, today, where women are still seen as, and treated as, property. Not human beings, property.

We are so flooded with opportunity in our country. Some of us more than others, for sure! And that has to do with our daily circumstances. But as a whole, in America, we have so much opportunity, every day.

But I never want you to feel like you need to first be validated in order to pursue your calling. If it feels unfair, like you’ll have to work harder to succeed just because you’re a woman, than sister, I hope you choose to work harder.

A lot of people spend time complaining about the cards they were dealt, rather than figuring out the best strategy to play them.

Today’s episode is all about this concept of setting your own standards.

Do you have your own values and mission statement? I’m talking about you as the individual, not your business.

You have to have them for yourself first before you have them for your company. If you don’t prioritize your own values first, you’ll wind up 5 years down the road with a business that feels totally out of alignment.

The way that you ensure you’re aligning your business with the life that you personally want to live is being rooted in exactly who you are and what your own purpose is.

Another benefit of getting very clear on this is that you will have so much clarity moving forward in knowing what is for you and what is definitely not for you.

I remember being young and coming home from school and being sad that I didn’t fit in with a certain group of girls or have a large group of friends.

As a child (and even as an adult sometimes), it’s easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing and what everyone else has.

I remember my mom telling me: As you get older, your circle will get smaller and smaller.

We have less time to pour into our friendships as an adult and we outgrow some friendships.

This is normal, and this makes so much sense to me now.

I know more people now than I ever have in my life, but my inner circle, the people whose values and goals align with my own, has gotten much tighter.

I have become much more convicted in my values and much more driven toward my goals, and I only have time for the people who feel the same.

Leave the popularity contest alone. You don’t need a ton of people to be worthy and fulfilled.

Alright guys, if I’m being totally honest, I’m nervous about sharing today’s episode!

We have some BIG things happening behind the scenes at our company right now. I can’t fully reveal the details just yet, but I can promise you that you don’t want to miss it!

We will soon be opening the doors to a new company, and it is going to disrupt small businesses and entrepreneurship. Just saying that aloud sounds insane, I know! I’ve been following so many of the Online Greats for a long time now who are doing incredible things, but this is something that doesn’t yet exist but is something that so many of the people that I’ve spoken with over the past couple of years want and need.

Today’s Pep Talk is from my 5-year-old, Jack. The kid is brilliant.

He came into my office recently and reminded me of two incredibly important lessons:

  1. Stop making excuses. Just do it. If there’s a dream in you and on your heart, it’s there for you to breathe life into it. What are you waiting for?

  2. If you are doing something you don’t need or want to do, STOP DOING IT, let it go, move on. Outsource, eliminate, and move on to bigger and better things.

That’s all good stuff.

But there are things that are holding you back from escalation?

Are you running your life, or is something or someone else?

There are things that show up in our daily life that become so familiar to us, we don’t realize that they’ve taken the wheel and have put us in the backseat. We think we’re cruising towards our dream, but we’re not the one driving anymore.

So what could some of those things be?

I’m just coming off of an incredible in-person retreat that I hosted for my Maverick Mastermind down in Arizona.

Our team has received a lot of questions about the planning process for an event like this, so today’s episode is letting you behind the scenes of the prep work and strategy behind putting together a retreat experience!

I’ll walk you through:

  • how we track everything
  • who does what
  • Budgeting
  • what you need and don’t need, and
  • how to pull off an event that makes an impact!

Intimate retreat events have been one of the most powerful drivers in my business over the last nine years, and they are where I can serve my clients most deeply.

Whether you’re a service-based business, are creating something around your brand, or you just want to bring people together - retreats are such a great opportunity.

BUT, there are a lot of misconceptions around events like this, so I want to bust those myths so you don’t get in over your head and expect a different result.

Are you stuck in a holding pattern?

Be brutally honest with yourself here.

If you’ve felt like either a) 2020 barely existed, or b) 2020 dragged on forever, this pep talk may be what you need.

2020 was the year of waiting for all of us. And when you’re just waiting for something to happen that’s out of your control, time is just slipping through your fingertips.

But this isn’t exclusive to just this Pandemic. This is relatively common for many people in normal, daily life.

How are you going to ensure that your visions and big steps are happening for you when you’re just sitting there, waiting. Build the dream into your schedule.

So my question for you is: are you in a holding pattern? What are you doing to ensure that you are moving the needle and moving things forward on a DAILY basis.

This episode is a little bit different from our normal Monday episodes.

We looked back over our podcast data from the past year and we found that the Pep Talks that we started releasing on Thursdays are really speaking to you! Specifically the pep talks around how to build a business that still honors your values and the journey.

So we put together a special episode today compiling the top three Pep Talks from the past year, and they include a pep talk about your health, celebrating your wins along the way, and making time for your people no matter how busy you are.

These three things are all about the process and the journey, not about the destination or your income or your social media metrics. And this may actually be the most important Pep Talk of all:

Take care of yourself, celebrate the journey that you are on as it’s unfolding, and never forget the most important part of life--your people.

I want to talk about something that is plaguing us right now; hopefully this doesn’t offend you (and if it does, you should listen to my previous pep talk on taking offense…)

Today’s pep talk is about the idea of choosing to be inconvenienced.

I’ve been an entrepreneur for 10 years. I’ve gotten to hear a lot of people’s hopes and dreams for their business and life, but I’ve also gotten to sit back and watch as they realize what’s going to be required of them to get there and they choose to stop trying.

So many people are unwilling to be inconvenienced in life, even if that inconvenience is what will ultimately get them to their biggest life.

It’s time to start prioritizing the things you say you want, and understanding that it won’t be convenient to get there.

“Offense is offered, but you don’t have to take it.” -Brian Dawkins

I’ve found this quote so poignant at this point in time when everyone is so offended by everything, it’s unbelievable. It feels like we literally cannot say something without potentially offending somebody.

We’re expected to walk on eggshells in how we speak and show up online in the hopes of pleasing everyone, but this goes against everything I believe to be true.

When there is something that you feel strongly about, that you believe to be true, you don’t have to bend and twist that truth to fit the needs of other people.

Listen in to this episode to hear all about how I’m handling these unattainable expectations that are placed on all of us. I hope you glean some wisdom for how you can continue showing up authentically, too!

I’m reporting to you with one less tooth in my head! It’s been one heck of a week. At the time of this recording, I’m exactly one week and two procedures out from my tooth extraction.

I have a lot to share, but I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect to be in the position I’m in today - talking is very painful. But this is worth stretching myself a bit to share this journey with all of you.

So this is the 3rd and final part of this 3 part series of my health and healing journey, until more time passes and I’ll do a follow up episode to share how far I’ve come months from now.

Today you’ll hear the unexpected complications I’ve faced and am facing, the wisdom I’ve gleaned from this, and how this relates so directly to building a sustainable and growing business.

I have to tell you, in the week since last week’s episode aired, the response has been overwhelming!

When it comes to health, it’s never one size fits all. So if it inspires you to start looking under the surface and gives you a starting place, I’m so incredibly happy! And thank you for the immense amount of support and love!

I know that what I’m facing doesn’t even hold a candle to what so many face, to what many of you face. I share it because it’s my experience and I hope it can help someone.

So today, the story continues to unfold.

Today, I share more about the root of my struggles, what I’ve learned that has blown me away and what I’m doing next.

Like I mentioned in part 1, I ain’t yo doctor. Do your own digging and personalize an approach that’s in line with your health needs and your team of experts that you trust.

If you haven’t listened to part 1, I recommend you do that first because this episode won’t make much sense without it.

Thanks for coming along on this journey with me!

You read that title right: I’m an online business owner, and I deleted Instagram from my phone.

I’ve been feeling this call lately to create from within, and it is so hard to do that when we’re looking at what everyone else is doing.

Instagram is a storm of other people’s content and this is ultimately going to affect your own thoughts and creativity.

I also value privacy for my family, and with Instagram’s change in their Privacy Policy, this felt like the right step to take.

The people you look up to most and admire as a prolific leader? They AREN’T spending their days scrolling social media. And since the vision I have for my life and my company is to become a prolific leader, I need to start acting like one.

Listen in to this episode to hear how this decision has affected my business.

If you’ve been following along for a while, you likely have heard me talk about health a lot, and you’ve seen me share about my own health struggles.

For two years now, I’ve battled adrenal crashes, food sensitivities, debilitating exhaustion, anxiety, joint pain, insomnia, headaches, weight gain, memory loss and brain fog.

So I’ve done what I always do, which is research and stay the course.

I’ve worked with conventional and naturopathic doctors, in addition to chiropractors, acupuncturists, NRT specialists and nutritionists to continue to find answers.

Never once have I given up on this path, but many times I’ve wanted to.

And this past week, I’ve gotten what I’ve been praying for… answers.

Today’s episode is all about the vulnerable yet important topic of marriage.

In the years I’ve been running my own business while being married, I’ve learned a lot about the power of prioritizing your marriage.

There were times I was so focused on elevating my business that my husband had to pick up the slack or I would just assume he understood because I was doing this for my family. I’ll admit I’ve taken his love + support for granted.

I am not telling you there has to be a balance between wanting to advance your business and spend time with your spouse. It’s not about the amount of time but the quality of your effort.

The real message here is deal with your shit! What areas of your life are falling apart while you’re elevating your business? Do you need to screw the launch or let go of your ego?

As you go into a new year, ask yourself how you can show up better + make changes to prioritize your marriage. Take time to invest as much passion and focus into your marriage as you do in growing your business.

That is up to you!

There is nothing that cannot happen in this next year. Just because the calendar is turning, that doesn’t mean that anything is actually going to change in your external world.

Perspective is everything.

If you are waiting for your circumstances to change or for someone else to save you, you are going to be disappointed in 2021.

You are responsible for your next year.

One of the core principles of scaling up is diversification. Are you looking at all the different angles and opportunities to grow and scale.

So today we’re having Kristina Modares and Stephanie Douglass, founders of Open House Austin, on the show to talk about the power of real estate when it comes to designing the life you dream of.

They created Open House after seeing a gap in the market and realizing how scary and uncertain it was for people who are buying a home, or looking into real estate from an investment perspective. So they created Open House to teach people about how to get started in real estate - whether buying their 1st home or breaking into real estate from a place of business - to guide people and take the overwhelm out of the process.

I’m excited to have them on to talk about how we can learn more about how to use real estate as a way to diversify income streams and what they’re doing that works!

Today’s episode is short and sweet - I just want to take a moment to say Thank You.

I think so often in life, people don’t go after their biggest dreams and goals because they want to get it perfect and have every step clearly mapped out before they get going.

But what I’ve learned in my own business journey is that momentum is the answer. The more that you can force yourself to take steps, even when you don’t feel ready, the more answers you will uncover in the process. So when you’re feeling like you just don’t have any clarity -- that’s when you need to take action!

That’s what Scaling Up was for me. I had this dream to start a podcast and create content through this show, but I had no idea how I was actually going to do it. But we forged ahead (two years ago already!) and took messy action, and now this show is one of the biggest pieces of how we show up and serve in our company.

The power of taking action and believing in my intuition is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned since starting this show. So thank you for being a part of this community.

Merry Christmas!

We’re doing some major shifting in our company this year.

In this episode, I want to share some of the “How” and “Why” behind the ways in which we’re choosing what direction we go in. It’s really normal in entrepreneurship to get stuck in Go Mode. We forget to stop and project out into the future a few years and make sure we’re in alignment with our goals and mission and the life we’re living in the day to day to get there.

So while our company isn’t necessarily pivoting, we are infusing our next level of our calling into our brand, and I’m excited to share that with you in real time as it plays out.

I’m going to give you a peak behind the curtain into our business today, but I’m also going to help you figure out how to use your own intuition to grow your business. I’m sharing the (sometimes messy) process I go through to make decisions in my business, the pitfalls I have made in the past, how to really begin to trust your gut, and how to plan for the long game so you’re not constantly having to rebrand or change your business model.

Today’s episode is about the concept of knowing if you’re really ready to take your business to the next level...or if you’re just asking for the next level because you want it.

You may be painting a picture of what you want your life to be and what you want to receive, but are you actually ready for that?

We all want the obvious answer of “YES! Of course I’m ready!” But there’s not a quick Yes or No answer to this question. I encourage you to sit with it and really think through it so you can come to a solid conclusion as to what stands between who you are today and who you need to become to get you to that next level.

Do you need to put more focus, energy and strategy in becoming that version of yourself? Are you really ready to receive what’s next or do you just want it? If you realize you are NOT where you need to be, take some time to figure out what it is you need to do to get there.

Somehow this year was both insanely quick and painfully slow at the same time.

If you’re listening to this around the time it goes live, we’re in December 2020 and gearing up for a fresh start in 2021. But if you’re listening to this at any other point in time, please keep listening because it’s going to be an incredibly helpful episode for you, too!

Today, we’re getting clear on our game plan to close out this year strong and elevate in the next. We’ll do a little Q1 planning strategy and get focused on our direction.

Assuming you want the next year of your life to be an upgrade from the last one, there is a lot of planning and purposeful action that goes into that. It’s not a guarantee just from time passing and you continuing to hustle.

So get out a notebook and get ready to do some planning to kick off your next year strong!

In this episode, I’m talking about a practice that I put into play in my own life and business that has caused radical transformation.

When I was battling adrenal fatigue, I had to shift my schedule around quite a bit. I found that the first few hours of the day for me were incredibly difficult, so I had to change up my morning routine. I needed to find a way to get myself engaged with my day without requiring too much thought and detail and strategizing.

I tried a bunch of different things, some that I liked and some that don’t work for me, bu there was one practice in particular that I loved because it didn’t just serve me, it also served my relationships, my business, and my overall level of joy.

Listen in to hear about the simple practice that I think will truly change your life!

Today’s episode is about the concept of checking your energy -- both your physical energy and your personal energy.

There is a lot of science about how we reverberate our own energy out into the world and affect other people. If you have a negative attitude, you’ll affect others negatively. But if you stay positive and encouraging, chances are high that you will make others feel this way too, just by spending time with you.

You are responsible for the energy you bring forth into the world. Even if you’re having a terrible day and nothing is going your way, you get to choose how you will respond.

Take ownership of your energy and figure out what you need to do to take control of it when you aren’t showing up how you want to.

I’m letting you in on a practice that I have to help me break bad habits and pursue greatness, even in the little things.

When you're trying to break an old habit and create a new habit, instead of just trying to stop doing the old habit cold turkey, you can instead put a new habit next to a trigger of something you already do.

Big growth in life isn’t always sexy. It doesn’t happen from these big, pivotal, crazy moments where you make massive leaps. Growth comes from the little things that you either choose to do or eliminate that will get you to where you want to go.

We are never standing still. Every single thought we have and move we make is either taking us closer to the person we want to become, or it’s moving us farther away from that goal.

Today’s topic is something that I’ve been seeing on repeat from many entrepreneurs in the online space: so many of us are pursuing popularity and measuring our success against this.

Success is not built on the back of popularity, and the way to gauge success and to achieve success is to not set your sights on popularity.

When you are basing your moves, your offers, your strategies on what’s happening externally, versus what’s happening internally, you’re tapping into your ego more than you're tapping into your intuition. And this is guiding you away from your purpose. This is why you feel out of alignment, this is why you keep wondering when something is going to click and take off.

Basing your entire business around what will make you the most money, the most likes, the most followers is senseless. It’s the reason that we are constantly seeking and feeling like we are lacking something.

So my challenge to you is this: instead of making your business and your growth about popularity, make it about leadership, impact, purpose, whatever is in your heart.

If you can do this, you will finally gain that traction and momentum and growth that you’re seeking.

The journey to success is not linear and not without many ups and downs.

When I first heard Tori and Heidi Ganahl’s story, I was so blown away by the adversity they had to overcome to get where they are today. And then I started to wonder if a lot of the adversity they faced was what actually propelled them forward!

Heidi and Tori have a large background in entrepreneurship, but most recently, they launched a new lifestyle brand called SheFactor, a platform for millennial and Gen Z women craving community, growth, and purpose. Heidi and Tori built SheFactor together to inspire women to become confident, successful leaders of their lives and create the life they love – their “Journey to She”.

If your business outpaces you, eventually you will hit a plateau and you won’t be able to grow at the rate you grew in the beginning.

And the mistake that many people make is in thinking that the next step in their growth is a tactical step, like improving their copywriting or running Facebook ads. But this isn’t necessarily true.

Often, the truth is that they have spent so much time and money and energy on improving their skill set that they have neglected to build up their leadership skills, so even when their business is at a place where it could continue to grow, it can’t because the business owner doesn’t know how to be the CEO of a bigger business!

I invest in my personal growth over business strategies, and this decision has served me time and time again.

Business strategies are so much more attractive because they’re so tactical. It feels so much more productive to walk away from a course with a strategy than to dig deep and start the process of becoming a better leader.

But you are the best investment you can make in yourself. You are the vehicle to get yourself to where you want to be.

So how are you doing this? How are you investing your time, your money, your energy into YOU?

Today’s topic gets me pumped, because I think it’s one of the most important things an entrepreneur can do for their business! Niching down…

But more and more I’m seeing entrepreneurs terrified to get specific and niche down:

  • “But I’m multi-passionate!”
  • “Well, I want to do a lot of things…”

Okay that’s fine… but do you want to make sales?

I know you, because you’re just like me: You want to find success really, really badly.

But something happens once you work really hard for success and you actually achieve it.

Many of you are in this place. You’re good at what you do, you’ve served your people well, you have some clout, and you’ve found some success.

Then time passes, and you forget. You forget the sweat equity that you had to put in to get to where you are today; the time it took, the tears you cried, the failures that it took to reach a new height.

And this forgetfulness makes you feel a little bit more entitled to new levels of success. You’ve done this before and feel like it should be easier this time, but it’s not necessarily.

New level, new devil.

New levels of work and effort and pushing for this new goal.

So yes, you’ve grown and you’ve evolved, you can handle things better and you might even make less mistakes along the way, but there are new dues that still have to be paid.

We all want to feel confident.

We want to feel confident in our craft, confident in how we show up, confident among our peers…

Confidence seems to come naturally to some people, and to others it can feel almost unattainable. But I can assure you that even the most confident in appearance among us have struggled with insecurity and down and low self-confidence.

If you find yourself in a situation where you are struggling to feel confident, what can you do to improve it?

We need to be able to set our ego aside and step into a place of curiosity and openness to learning. Doubt is simply an indicator that there is space for you to learn and grow, so embrace it.

The more support and training you get, and the more action you take, the more confident you will become.

So when doubt creeps in (and it will!), seek to learn and grow. Seek to identify your weaknesses and improve.

I know, I KNOW! Everyone and their mother talks about their morning routine these days. But stay with me for a minute.

Almost every client that I’ve ever worked with comes to me knowing they should have a morning routine and understanding the benefits of having one. Yet most of them don’t actually honor the practice.

Morning routines are common sense, but they’re not common practice.

The reason I’m bringing this up yet again is not because I believe if you hear it one more time it’s going to click for you, but because I want to try and simplify it. I think people try to make their morning routines too robust and over complicated, and that’s why they don’t actually become routine.

Your morning routine should be easy and intuitive. Tune in to this episode to hear my quick tips on structuring your morning routine to actually turn it into a routine works for you and that you love.

This might be a touchy subject for some people, but we’re going there!

Do you ever do things in your business just to prove other people wrong?

You know what I’m talking about, right? “I have to do XYZ in my business in order to prove to So-and-So that I’m successful.”

Because I have. I’ve been there so many times in my life! I want to break that down for you in this episode and give you a little behind the scenes look at a few times when I’ve walked that path and what I’ve learned from those experiences.

When we pursue something with the wrong intention and motivation, we will keep falling short because we aren’t in alignment with our purpose.

You don’t need to prove anything to anybody. Everyone else may doubt that you will achieve your dream, your goal, but it doesn’t really matter. If you are following your heart, your purpose, then you aren’t doing this for them any way.

The scariest part of this type of thinking is that if you are so busy listening to what everyone else has to say about you, you might fail to hear what YOU say about you. You may chase after things that aren’t actually meant for you.

So stop trying to prove them wrong and instead start focusing on proving yourself right.

I have a theory: Disappointment doesn’t come from failure alone, it comes from our expectations not being met.

I know plenty of people who set their sights on achieving something really big and impactful, but they also expect to fail along the way. And they do! I watch these people face their failures head on, learn from them, and continue on their path to greatness without being derailed, simply because they expected to fail along the way. They don’t fall victim to the expectation gap: that terrible feeling we get in our gut when something doesn’t go the way we expected it to go.

The expectations we place on our business and our lives often set the stage for the level of disappointment and negativity we feel.

It’s important to understand this, because sometimes when we have those negative feelings, we don’t know where they’re coming from, so we can’t get rid of them or flip them to the positive.

We spend a lot of time talking about the importance of niching down in business. And while this is a great way to become known and respected as an authority, I want to play devil’s advocate a little bit in this episode: When we niche down, are we actually pigeonholing ourselves into only being able to talk about one thing?

When all of your content is focused around the one topic you niched down to… Can you launch an offer that isn’t about your typical focus? Or would that distract and confuse your audience?

When is the right time to pivot, if at all?

If you’re anything like me, you have an entire bank of ideas in your brain that you’re dying to turn into something, but you’re not sure how, or when, or even if.

So today we’re talking about how to pivot in a way that is in alignment with your brand, in a way that speaks to your audience and doesn’t screw with the bottom line.

There are two different kinds of people in the world: there are people who write negative reviews and there are people who don’t.

Personally, I don’t. It is such a waste of my time and energy. If I have a bad experience or just personally don’t like something, that’s FINE. That means it’s not for me and I can move on. Not everything is going to be for me, and I’m okay with that.

Now obviously, there are some exceptions here… If I buy brown hair dye and it actually turns my hair purple, I would head to Amazon to write a review to warn everyone else! If the marketing is a straight up lie, that’s different.

But the fact that there is a category of people who spend their own time and energy to just envelop someone else’s business in their negativity and hate is just mind-blowing to me.

Our minutes on this earth are literally numbered. Our time here is so limited. Why would anyone choose to spend it going out of their way to be hateful and unproductive?

Listen in on today’s episode for my tips on how to handle this when it happens to your business.

I’m an enneagram 3, which means that I’m an achiever, but it also means that I’m very impatient in the process of achievement.

To forget that achievement is an actual process is to sign the lease for a permanent residence on an expectation gap. It means that you will be forever disappointed and feeling behind when you fail to acknowledge that achievement actually take time.

Achievement takes consistent resilience. Trying to rush the process means that you are choosing a lower quality experience.

The people that you look up to and admire and aspire to be like? The odds are extremely high that the reason they have so much knowledge and influence is because they spent years walking through the muck and showing up when they weren’t where they wanted to be. We have to do the same.

It’s the nature of the entrepreneurial beast: we always want more. And that’s a blessing in that it keeps us moving forward, but it’s also the curse that keeps us from the feeling of achievement that we want more than anything.

You’re not behind. Don’t rush the process. Keep showing up and it will come with time.

What happens when you just don’t feel inspired to create?

Do you know what to do to get yourself back to a place of inspiration?

The answer to this question is going to vary greatly based on the individual.

Some of us need to take a break; we need to take time completely away from our businesses to fully rest and recharge.

Some of us have routines and strategies that we have learned through experience can bring us back to a place of inspiration and creation.

And some of us have a person or a community of people we can turn to for help. This might be a friend, a partner, a mastermind, a business coach, your team… Get yourself a hype squad!

Inspiration and motivation are generated from within. We don’t just get struck randomly by lightning bolts of inspiration. When you are stuck in a cycle of feeling uninspired, you have to know how to pull yourself out and keep moving forward.

Tap into your resources and keep putting your greatness out there so that the world can experience it too!

Sometimes we create a website and assume that if we build it, they will come…

News flash… they ain’t comin.

UNLESS you optimize that site to work for you! And I’m not just talking about SEO or even tech strategies that are going to make your brain explode. I’m talking about knowing where your energy is best spent when it comes to creating (or tweaking) your website so it ultimately leads to MORE CONVERSIONS. Yes, that’s right, more people actually buying.

This is exactly what Jessica Zimmerman and I are chatting about in this episode. She has an amazing story on top of bringing some great how to’s when it comes to your site!

This woman survived a car crash as a little girl that took someone near and dear to her, raised 3 babies as she navigated an unexpected illness with her husband and went on to grow her once zero-profit events company into a thriving 7-figure business.

Maybe you’ve seen her featured in People, Business Insider, Entrepreneur or Forbes, or maybe you’re just dying to hear more…

One of the greatest walls that stands between who you are today and who you actually want to be is a lack of focus.

And I’m not talking about how well you focus on a singular task without distraction today.

If you listen to my podcast, I know that means you have big dreams and goals for your business and your life, and that’s great! I promote and encourage that. But you won’t accomplish all of those goals at once.

It’s so important to know what your one main focus is, the thing that will move the needle forward in your business.

Sometimes we get distracted by the things that we think we should be doing, the things that everyone else tells us we should be doing, that we forget to pause and think, “How is this supporting me in my journey toward the vision I have for my life.”

You should have one main goal that is taking priority right now, and the tasks that fill your days should reflect that.

So much of what we teach on this show goes so much deeper than just helping you get a quick win or grow your business.

We’re breaking the chains. We’re creating an opportunity for generational change by building rock solid businesses that stand the test of time and allow you to step into your legacy.

Have you ever heard the term entrepreneurial poverty?

I hadn’t either, until I had business strategist Racheal Cook on the show to talk about this concept and the burnout and defeat that comes with it.

She’s helped thousands of female entrepreneurs design profitable businesses to break out of entrepreneurial poverty.

Today’s episode is going to open your eyes to the reality of what’s riding on your decisions as an entrepreneur and business owner and how it’s so critical to break the chains and to do this right. Enough building businesses that take us farther from our wildest dreams - it’s time to get strategic!

Being in the thick of a launch breeds a lot of great conversations!

My DM’s stack up with people asking good questions, wanting to know if what I’m offering is a good fit for them, if they should just skip ahead to the mastermind, if they’re ready…

30-40% of those conversations sound something like this: “Well maybe I’ll try it next time it launches. I’m not sure if I’m ready for it right now.”

I get it. I’ve felt that way about a lot of things in my life, too. I’ve held myself back or questioned my worthiness for certain things.

Maybe you’re scared to invest or to fail or to come in looking like a novice in this new thing you’d be learning.

I get all of that.

But nothing changes if nothing changes. Time alone is not going to get you there.

This is one of my favorite episodes of the Scaling Up podcast of all time!!

You guys - get ready to fall in love.

Today, you meet two women who are literally revolutionizing women’s health. Jenn Lormand and Christina Walsh are the co-creators of Tighten Your Tinkler (yes, you heard me correctly!) and they are two of the brightest rays of sunshine you will ever meet. And if you’re a woman or know a woman - YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THIS.

If you want to know what’s really possible for you in the future no matter where you stand in business today, you also need to listen to this!

These two women came to me with one of the most incredible missions and products I’ve ever seen, but they needed help! When they joined the Maverick Mastermind, they knew it was time to take their expertise and get the blueprint to make sure it would get into the hands of the people who needed it most!

In the last 6 months alone they have changed their entire business and their level of success has skyrocketed. I knew you HAD to hear their story, learn how they’ve done it and listen in on how you can do it, too!

You have an opportunity to launch and put things out into the world that people need.

You have expertise, you have experiences, you have knowledge and wisdom and research and understanding and life skills and work skills and so many different things that make you who you are.

You can extract, monetize and turn these things into an amazing offer for your audience.

But in order to have the most successful launch possible, there are some ground rules.

One of those ground rules is this: you have to have a launch time frame. You need to know the exact dates and times that you will open your cart and close down the cart, and you have to let your audience know!

This creates pressure on your audience to make a decision - are you in or are you out?!

To make this pressure work even harder for you, you can also throw in some limited time bonuses: “If you sign up by XYZ date, you’ll get XYZ bonus!”.

Tune in to today’s episode to hear the special bonuses we’re offering with your purchase of the Scaling Up Your Business Course! ...See what we did there?!

Would it help you to figure out where you really stand in your business?

Are you in a place where you should just be focusing on what you’re already doing, or should you be putting energy towards creating a more scalable business?

Should you be pouring into the clients you already have, or should you be focusing on developing the funnels to bring in new clients?

Are you right where you should be, or are you leaving potential money on the table?

The goal of this episode is to paint a picture of what’s really possible in your business and in your life. I’m going to help you identify where you are today and where you want to go, and help you pinpoint what is going to be the bridge you need to go over to get there.

When I broke into entrepreneurship, I was excited about a lot of things, but I was most excited about the idea of time freedom. I was so sick of my schedule being dictated by someone else and living for the weekends. So time freedom was one of (if not the) biggest motivator for starting my business and becoming an entrepreneur.

And that was my first mistake. Entrepreneurship does not equal freedom.

There is a massive difference between freedom and flexibility.

Just because you left your job doesn’t mean you have freedom. Your schedule is flexible, and that’s great, but you aren’t free. You’re still stuck in the same problem: if you aren’t working, you aren’t earning.

Time freedom comes at a price, a price that a lot of entrepreneurs are either unwilling to pay OR are actually unaware that they could pay this price to earn time freedom.

When you have true time freedom, it will change your life forever.

This is an extra special episode because we’re having one of my amazing Maverick Mastermind members on the show to talk about her experience in feeling stuck in her business and what has helped her have the breakthroughs she’s seen over the last 6 months!

When Holly and I connected, she was in a business model that limited how much she could earn, and she wasn’t sure how to grow her list with the right people who would want to buy. Plus, she needed help crafting powerful offers and a marketing plan to build visibility. In 6 months she went from stuck with one limited offer that not many people were seeing, to multiple high paying clients, a successful course launch, a successful podcast launch (so much so it’s now sponsored!), a group coaching program, multiple opt-ins that are growing her list, a brand new social media strategy that’s absolutely cranking, and so much more!

Since a lot of you ask how the mastermind works and what my course curriculum teaches, I thought instead of just telling you myself, I would instead have this now firing-on-all-cylinders entrepreneur on to share her experience and paint a picture of what’s really possible for you!

As an entrepreneur, do you have a mission you are bringing to life? Or are you just building a business?

As an influencer, are you making an impact in something that really matters, something that speaks to your heart?

When we are constantly in pursuit of that next level, sometimes we lose sight of the mission and purpose.

It’s easy to get caught up in the metrics: How much money is going into my bank account? How much time off is on my calendar? How big is my email list? How many clients do I have?

I turn 33 tomorrow... I’ve been on this earth for 32 years, 364 days, and God willing I have quite a few days left. But tomorrow isn’t guaranteed for any of us. We truly have no idea how much longer we have on this earth. What is the legacy that you will leave behind? I have to make sure that I’m focusing on the right things for those remaining days, not getting caught up in the metrics.

I’ve realized that my business is the vehicle. It is the way that I am going to make my impact.

And that’s my challenge for you today: as you are chasing your big goals, make sure you are continually coming back to your mission + impact.

Some of the most common (and valid!) questions I get from this community are:

  • How do I know where I should invest my money?
  • What courses should I pick?
  • Do I need to attend an event?
  • Should I hire a coach?
  • Do I join a coaching program? A mastermind?

Depending on what stage of the game you’re at and what your goals are, it could (and probably should) affect your choice.

So I want to hit this one head on because it’s true, sometimes (but not always) you do have to spend money to make money. But it only works when you spend it wisely.

Let’s talk through how and where you should be investing back into your business and yourself when it comes to personal and business growth!

This episode could get me talking with my hands and shouting like my Italian family does on Sundays…

I was raised on this idea and I’m raising my own babies on it, but it is not in alignment with popular culture.

It’s tough because we live in a society that centers on immediate gratification. Our society pushes us all to “do what feels good in the moment”, and this is why so many people are hurting and unhealthy and divorcing and broke and wishing for a different future.

But not you - you’re one of my mavericks. You’re willing to think and do things differently, right?

Let’s start with this…

If you really think about it from a logical standpoint, do you think any of the entrepreneurs or business owners or leaders who you admire actually got to the levels of success that they’re at by taking the easy path and making choices based on comfort or ease or what felt good in the moment? Do you think they only showed up when they felt motivated, energized, when the wind was at their back?

Or, do you think they showed up when they were tired and beat down and unsure and no one was cheering them on? Did they continue to show up after failures?

I hope that was an easy scenario to consider and answer.

Let’s talk through what doing what feels good looks like in business. It looks like:

Dinking around with your social media bio thinking it’s going to change the game for your business
Keeping your prices low so no one gets uncomfortable
Keeping your brand vague so you don’t risk losing people
Focusing on followers instead of your funnel
Not pitching yourself and just hoping you’ll be discovered
Trying to build an empire on the back of one offer

But you’re so incredible! You have way too much value and potential to allow the illusion of comfort to slow you down from doing what’s required to make big moves!

Stop making choices based on today and instead make choices based on what you actually want for our lives.

Notebooks out, folks! This episode is going to simultaneously destress you and help you figure out how to earn more money! I think that’s something that is going to appeal to everyone in this audience.

Tasha Booth teaches about a concept that used to be totally foreign to me: how to have a STRESS-FREE launch. Those words together basically form an oxymoron. But it’s a real thing! And Tasha is here to blow all of our minds with this today.

We’re breaking down Tasha’s framework for launching: how much time to give yourself, where you need to show up, your content strategy, if you should hire a team, how to maximize cart open, and she spills the beans on what you’re probably not doing that you should be doing after your cart closes that will ultimately lead to a bigger growth in your business.

This episode is GOLD. You’re going to love it.

Let’s talk about everyone’s least favorite topic: discipline.

We all want certain things, right? We want more freedom, we want more time, we want more money, we want more clarity, we want to serve people better…

Do you know what you have to do to get there? You have to be more disciplined.

The ticket to freedom is NOT free days and loose schedules and going with the flow. The ticket to freedom is being super disciplined in what you do with the time you have so you can generate more freedom.

My challenge to you is to really look at how you spend your days and identify your one or two weak spots. How can you eliminate or streamline these weak spots? How can you be more disciplined in these areas? You will be in awe of how much freedom you create in your life.

I want to talk to you this week about something I feel really strongly about, something I know will serve you. I want to talk about the concept of beating ourselves up for how we did things in the past, and allowing our past to dictate our future success.

I see this all the time, especially in the entrepreneurial space.

Maybe you’re cowering behind the idea of launching something because you’ve done a launch in the past and it flopped.

Maybe you’re scared to pitch yourself to potential one-on-one clients because you’ve had a client ask for a refund in the past so now you no longer feel qualified to serve.

Maybe you’re inconsistent with your social media content because you’ve only heard crickets for so long.

Whatever the narrative is that you’ve written, who you’re capable of becoming in the future should not be about your past. It’s about what you want now, it’s about what you’re willing to show up and work for.

If you are willing to fight to change something and make it better, then why are you keeping yourself stuck in this story that you can’t because of something that has happened in your past?

Who wants more cash flow in their biz?!

Melissa Lin joined me on Scaling Up to talk all about increasing profit through upsells, downsells, and increasing your rates (gasp!).

These concepts are SO powerful! Truly. I recently walked my Maverick Mastermind members through these exact same concepts as well, and within one week of implementing at least one of them, three separate mavericks reached out to me to share their wins!

  • 50% more profit with each sale that week by utilizing upsells
  • $1,500 more in profit in five days time
  • Turned three No’s into Yes’s after a launch in two days time by utilizing a downsell strategy

These strategies are so important! They will add another level of dimension to your business and without a doubt will increase your profit without you having to reinvent the wheel and create a new offer!

Do not miss out on this interview! You have the chance to truly change your business by doing the work and implementing the ✨GOLD✨ that’s shared today!

I want to talk about something that’s been weighing on me a bit And to do that, I felt compelled to share this story of something that I went through myself recently. I think it’s entirely possible that many of you go through this same struggle too.

Sometimes I forget where I came from. I forget about the journey and what it took for me to get to where I am today.

In order to reach the dream, the life we envision for ourselves, we often have to reframe the way we think! We have to be able to open up to the possibilities for how we see ourselves.

Your perception becomes your reality.

Your next level is not available to you until you actually see it as a possibility and believe that it is yours for the taking.

The wild thing is, you alone have the power to turn this thing on its head.

Our default is to discount ourselves. We see others that have what we so desperately want, and we just immediately think, that could never be me. Maybe this is happening to you right now.

But every once in a while, we see that light! The evidence that we need to prove that our dream is possible is right in front of us, staring us in the face. When we feel that jealousy, that’s an indicator to pay attention! If someone else is doing it, it’s available to us too.

We have to bring awareness to that fact and then shift our own narrative to possibility. When we can do that, this is what I call a divergent moment.

So my question to you is this: what is the thing(s) that you want in your life or your business right now, that you are willing to go out on a limb for and awaken what’s possible by choosing to see it differently?

As we gear up for another launch of our own, I want to let you behind the scenes of what we’re doing during our PRE LAUNCH period and let you in on how powerful the time period prior to officially launching an offer can be, when it’s done right!

I’ve seen this in my own business and with so many of my clients - the ones that master the pre launch are the ones that see a fruitful launch.

And since that’s always the goal - to monetize an idea, bring it to market, attract the right potential buyers to it and launch it with some fire behind it so you can impact more people with your work and increase your bottom line - let’s talk about what I believe to be the single most important piece of a launch.

The pre launch.

Are you being intentional about where the opportunities are to craft offers from your knowledge, expertise, experiences, resources, passions and ideas? All of these things can culminate into an offer that you can sell!

So let’s get into one of the things I love helping my clients, students and masterminders do the most… crafting your next offer!

I want to talk to you today about something that doesn’t come easy for most of us: the idea of having hard conversations.

This is such a critical skill as both a business owner and when you don’t have your business hat on. The ability to have conversations that lead to discomfort is a necessity, but this is what enables us to grow through challenges, step up as a leader, and do what’s right.

Have you ever noticed that whenever you call out an objection before it’s said, it kind of squashes it?

When we wait to respond to pushback, rather than addressing it head-on, our tendency is to become defensive. Anytime we get defensive in a conversation, everyone else involved does too. And then it feels like we’re pitted against each other.

When we instead choose to address the elephant in the room and be open about our thoughts and feelings toward it, we are often met with more understanding and open-mindedness. We can come at it from the angle of, “I don’t want to try and change your mind, but I would love to share a little bit more about my perspective on this just so you understand where I’m coming from. I value our relationship and I understand that we might not see eye-to-eye on this, and that’s okay.”

In order for us to make our impact on the world, we have to be brave enough to shine our light instead of coming at people from a place of darkness. When we attack, our message can’t be heard because people are too busy defending to even be heard.

If you’re anything like me, you love to set goals for yourself. Many people set goals for the New Year, but really anytime my situation or path changes, I’m setting new goals for myself to keep me on the right path towards the vision I have for my life. Do you do this too?

We have the best intentions, but then: life happens. We get stressed because we have so much work to do. Or we don’t check in on our progress consistently, and we forget about the goal. There are so many things that can go wrong when trying to achieve a goal.

So I want to let you in behind the scenes today on something we’ve started doing as a family this year that is making all the difference in keeping on track toward our goals. We call is a Recalibration Session, and it’s basically just very intentional quarterly planning.

I recommend this process for all couples, even if you aren’t both working in the same business. This exercise is geared towards doing it with a spouse or your significant other, however it can also apply to doing it with a key team member as well. Succeeding in your business isn’t just about your business metrics, it’s about you as a whole person and your quality of life.

Today’s pep talk is all about the all-too-common question: Am I ready?

So let’s talk about it.

Are you really ready? I want you to start by thinking about the other side of the coin. What’s at stake when you lean into the other narrative that you’ve created that says you’re not ready? You think you will be ready when you make this much money/have this many customers/take one more course. But then you reach that initial goal and you still don’t feel ready! What’s up with that?

Feeling ready for a big milestone in your life isn’t actually about your goals or your status. Being ready is a confidence thing; it’s about having the belief that you’ll figure it all out as it comes, and if you do make a mistake it will only serve to help you grow.

Every time we reach a point in our business (or life, really) that will be the catalyst to take us to the next level, our gut check reaction is: Man, am I actually ready for this?

But the thing is: obviously if you already had all of your ducks in a row and felt ready, you would already have reached that next level. So asking if you’re ready is a moot point!

If you limit yourself to waiting until you wake up and think, I feel ready today!, you will be waiting for the rest of your existence!

So stop asking the question: Am I ready? And start asking: what do I need to do to be prepared? What do I need to do to ensure that I am ready?

We create confidence by doing, by moving forward even when we’re uncertain, by surviving through enough mistakes and failures that we know we can keep going even when it’s hard.

Do you find yourself in one of these three camps?

  1. “I just don’t really need good photos for my business… Do I??”
  2. “I want to have high-quality brand photos to use in my marketing, but I just can’t afford to pay for a photographer.”
  3. “I take my own photos for my business, but they don’t really seem to be moving the needle for me.”

If you have ever had one of these thoughts, this episode is for you.

We live in a very visual world. We have to have good pictures for everything from our social media feeds to our websites and sales pages.

But this doesn’t mean you have to hire somebody or be a photography whiz yourself.

You can create incredible visual content for your brand that will drive your business forward, and our guest today, Amy Eaton, is going to tell us how!

Amy is a brand and product photographer turned educator who specializes in teaching online entrepreneurs how to DIY their own awesome photos for their business. She breaks it all down for us into a step-by-step approach that anybody can follow--even someone like me who sucks at taking pictures, doesn’t have a fancy camera, and doesn’t want to spend a lot of time doing it.

Today I want to talk about something that I feel excited about, that I feel empowered by, and that I think will really light a spark for you. This could shift the course of your business if you’re feeling stalled out.

One of the questions I get all of the time is: “What do you think it is that is keeping me from moving forward and growing and scaling my business?”

And the first thing I usually do is take a look at this business’s messaging and marketing and how they are presenting themselves. The common denominator I see is that many businesses are too focused on the specs of their brand: this is what you can get, this is the end result I promise… etc.

Now, in marketing it is smart to focus on the end result and the transformation; that’s ultimately why people will buy from you. However, if that’s the only thing your marketing is focused on, you are forgetting a key component…

What is the conviction behind what you do?!

Why are you called to do what you do? What is in your heart that leads you to feel called to do what you do?

Listen in to hear why the answer to this question is the key to your success!
