Welcome to the first bonus episode of this series! I was so inspired by music today that I wanted to do a shout out karaoke clip of Miss Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" for you all. Singing was a huge part of my life growing up and I realized I'd been quite out of touch with it once I graduated from school. I had no formal singing lessons other than joining choir and vocal jazz in high school, so I learned most every note from singing karaoke!! I remember how much joy and freedom singing provided. Hanging out with my karaoke buddies back in the day was the best part. Thank you for all the amazing memories - This one's for you!
If you'd like to hear a full version of this song, I'll be posting a video in my Youtube channel as soon as it's ready to roll. I have to get help with tech support first!

Gratitude is a power that comes in and transforms a moment to something better. It's easy to feel good and be grateful for the positive things in our lives. The TRUE power lies in allowing ourselves to see the meaning in the moments of the experience rather than focusing on the hardships and losses. When we embrace the joy, love and appreciation of those who we have had the opportunity to meet and be with, we become stronger. Count the blessings, as few as they may sometimes be. Keep looking for the little things to be grateful for and if you keep working on it, you'll find they appear all around you. This episode includes a guided meditation form Dr. Jen to help you develop this habit. The sun is always shining. What we often say on cloudy days is that the sun is "not shining" because we "see" the clouds covering the sun, and we "feel" that the sun is not shining on that particular day. Chronic pain can often be like the sun. It is always there, rain or shine. On the darkest days of my life, I learned an incredibly valuable lesson and that is how precious life is. So long as we are still breathing, still moving, there is a way to take back control of our lives. Instead of wishing my pain away, I learned to adopt a different way of seeing my cripple. In this episode, you'll walk through the journey with me and discover the keys to live a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. To share your stories with me, email: healthywisdomseries@gmail.com
