In today's episode I talk about how to find potentially habitable exoplanets in the universe. When looking for potentially habitable exoplanets, it helps to start with worlds similar to our own. But what does "similar" mean? Many Earth-sized rocky planets have been discovered: this suggests the possibility of life. Based on what we observe in our own solar system, it seems unlikely that a large gaseous world like Jupiter would provide habitable conditions. But most of these Earth-sized worlds orbit red dwarf stars. Earth-sized planets in wide orbits around Sun-like stars are harder to spot. We've discovered so many of them in the universe, after we thought Earth was the only potentially habitable planet. But after 2009, when the Kepler telescope launched into space, that spacecraft has been finding countless habitable, well, potentially habitable exoplanets. So tune in to find out how we find them!

In this episode of Future Tech, I discuss what having a moon base would be like. The reason I want to talk about it is because NASA is planning to launch the Artemis Mission to the Moon and establish a base over the next couple of years, including the first woman on the moon and the first person of color on the moon. These are two exciting things and a lot of people say to me like well, why a moon base? Aren’t we supposed to be going to Mars? Well, an analogy I can compare it to would be to say It’s the same thing as learning how to ride a bicycle and drive a car. The moon is learning how to ride a bicycle and then Mars is learning how to drive a car. One is less difficult than the other. Tune in to hear my thoughts on what the moon base will be like!

In this episode, I'm going to discuss how to market music in a digital world. Music has been around for thousands of years, and has been a way to bring people together in a unique way. It's almost like another language. Music has changed over the centuries, with the types of instruments that were used, or the way that people presented the music. Whether in an orchestra, a rock band, or just a solo artist, it has changed dramatically. The evolution from phonograph to vinyl record, cassette tapes, CDs, and ending with MP3’s dominating the market with digital streaming was inevitable. Ever since the internet was invented and the technology behind music caught up, it has caused a paradigm shift in the way people consume music, listen to music, as well as produce and promote their music. This episode is timely considering many family and friends of mine are in the midst of promoting their music. So tune in to get some tips on how to make your music stand out from the rest. In this episode, I talk about why science fiction doesn't exist anymore. The reason I say this is because for 100 to 200 years, authors have been writing science fiction stories, people like Jules Verne, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, and HG Wells with stories like "From the Earth to the Moon", "Brave new world", "1984", "The time machine", and so many other stories. In these classic tales, the authors predicted what they thought would happen in the future. The main reason why I say science fiction no longer exists, is because most if not all of those predictions have come true. We are living in a scifi world.

So get ready to blast off, um, I mean listen to elevator music on the way up into space!

In this episode of Future Tech we dive into Schrödinger’s cat. There is a cat inside a box, that is both dead and alive to an outside observer because, until the box is opened, you can’t tell either way. You have to assume it’s one or another, which makes it essentially both until we know for sure. When when it comes to the universe, it's base reality is made up of what we can confirm through observation as well. The universe works in the quantum world, through quantum mechanics, and quantum physics. This means that the observation process works much different than what we are used to. So with aliens, possibly existing in a multiverse, they are entangled, and once we observe them they will exist. But here's the thing, from their perspective we could be the ones who are entangled - and that's why we haven't seen them, because they haven't observed us. Tune in to hear my thoughts on this!

Tune in to hear how best to tell your story using an emotional rollercoaster to draw people in and learn more about Lewis at GetToTheDamnPoint.com

I’ll go over the metaverse, NFTs, and where they are headed in the future in this episode, so tune in!

In this episode, I give you three reasons why you should embrace failure. You might see the news highlighting successful entrepreneurs or startups that raised $100 million, or they were purchased by a bigger company for $1 billion. The news glamorizes successful celebrities, musicians, authors, or just people in the entertainment industry who succeeded because they secured the big contract, and they got the big payday. The issue is that you don't see the other fifty million people trying to do what they're doing and failing at it, broke, hungry, without a place to stay and living out of their car. The thing is, most successful people got to where they are from learning and embracing their failures. That’s what this episode is all about. Embracing your failure to learn from it, and then ultimately succeed.

Running your startup over the course of a couple of years with your team is a very challenging thing to do without funding. The few that have succeeded are the success stories that you hear every day. A lot of these large companies at one point did something different, but realized it wasn’t working out. So they switched their business model (pivoted) to something that worked and eventually that led to success. Other companies find other areas in their industry called vertical markets and successfully launch other products that cater to those markets. The question is, how do you know when you should pivot your idea, or simply launch something in a vertical market? Well the answer has many variables. In this episode I explain both pivoting and vertical markets.
