The beginning of this year whilst digging up some spicy music from the past in the collection and on Discogs I got inspired to record something different from what I’ve been doing lately. The result is a super jazzy and groovy session which I’ve passed on to the nice people at Rádio Oxigénio and they were kind enough to air it last month.Hoping this mix brings joy into your life.

"Basilar is a new boutique festival that will have its first edition from 8-11 September 2022 at Barragem dos Pisões, Montalegre, Portugal, carefully designed to welcome a knowledgeable and music-focused community.
Basilar takes place in an idyllic setting surrounded by nature and in an intimate atmosphere, aiming for a truly immersive experience, sewn together by some of the most thrilling acts in the national and international scenes.

Our monthly show on Rádio Quântica is here. This time our guest is UK artist Simon Huxtable and his ambient project Inhmost. Simon started his career in the 90s releasing a series of atmospheric drum & bass records through his Aural Imbalance moniker. Alongside his club oriented releases, he's found time to evolve his ambient soundscapes with the Inhmost project, including a recent collaboration with ASC for Auxiliary and a new album for Huinali Recordings.

Introducing a new project by Discrepant label boss Gonçalo F. Cardoso (Gonzo, Visions Congo, Papillon, Prophetas) and Tenerife electronic stalwarts Tupperwear (Mladen Kurajica and Dani Tupper).
Diving deep into various phantom island mythologies (the elusive St. Brendan’s island being a recurring motif) Lagoss borrow from the exotica playbook of ideas and twist it inside out into a bubbling melting pot of sounds, shapes and patterns that eventually confuse, wonder and (occasionally) scare the inattentive listener.
For this mix the band used outakes and reversions of their first recording sessions and mixed them into a seamless hybrid electronic experience that riffs and contrasts with the original versions on the album. More reflective and peacefull, minimally assembled for quiet listening, a companion to the no truce approach on the album's 30+ mini tracks.

Elias.(DE) moves us through his own semantic system ruled by warm, driven and textured sounds, composed of piercing grooves and lavish tonalities. The bright producer throws down an ingeniously well worked package set to turn the dance-floor alight with its luminous stabs whilst Enkō’s clean cut and minimal remix dims the lights on the dub-infused lashes as a paean to the mercurial night.

Mix Session for a 3-hour light and video projection jam with the AV//JAM Collective. Recorded live at the Aura Festival in Sintra, Portugal on August 4th 2018.
As always with these gatherings, I tried to create a soothing and comfortable environment for friends to have a chat, lay back and close their eyes if they so wished. It journeys through a field of several musical genres, found sounds and apparent silences (or non-musical intervals). After listening back to it several times it seems to convey a sort of mystical and ritualistic feeling of connection with nature and with the self and however subjective and personal these concepts are, that is how I feel and not a generalisation.
I hope you can enjoy this session and make it your own as well, interpret it as you may and maybe draw out of it a certain sense of completeness and togetherness.
