February 19th, 2019 If I continue seeing what I can do in a day.. Maybe somebody will eventually let me show the world what I can do in a week, or a month, or a year.
Somewhere along the way I forgot my first love. Music. I forgot what I even liked about making music. I forgot what it meant to lose yourself in making a track and working through self doubt and distraction. I forgot the joy and surprise of working with tools I know and carving out and building up something that came from my own skillset and knowledge.
I know I have value.. I think it's really easy to forget about the value we are to ourselves. Especially on this day.. This fucking day.. This is a song for all those people that are "alone" on valentines day.. This day is a total fuck.. it's a nightmare of capitalism and feels designed to be a fuck you to people that have tried to always work on themselves waiting for.. something.. or somebody to come along..
Maybe that person won't come along.. maybe you will never have somebody to be by your side in the long and the short hours.. That can be ok too.. because there will always be two constants. You will always have yourself and your belief in yourself. There will always be another thing too. Music.. Whatever music is to you.. whether it's poetry, or dance, or wood work, or metal work, or game development.
So please. Don't lose faith in yourself. You have value. The work you do and the craft you study has value. Even if nobody else sees it.
A little WIP I lost for a long time.. and then realised I should probably do something with.. It's really mostly finished.. Will get it out soon.. Gotta keeping releasing material.. working on music every day and getting stuff out there and having Gretchen practice.. The work continues.
