Meet LindaI'm Linda Magnuson, a trained Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Master. I have a passion for natural health and wellness, energy work, and physical movement of all kinds. I'm from Winter, WI where I currently live with my husband Eric and 2 sons, Adrian (9) and Alrik (6). I obtained my master reiki attunement April 2022 after completing my level I and II Usui/Holy Fire® training. I enjoy exercise, gardening, being out in nature, cooking, and socializing with friends. My husband and I always have a project to tackle, so I've become quite the handy (wo)man over the past 12 years! I work as a radiologic technologist at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. I have worked as a radiologic technologist since 2009 and in healthcare since I was 17 years old. Reiki is unlike any healing modality I had known previously. It is an energy healing technique that allows the healer to move universal energy through the client to promote healing, relaxation, stress and anxiety reduction. This technique does not interfere with medications, any diagnosis, and is safe for any age. Natural healing techniques are so beneficial in today's busy world. Many of us are unaware of how much energy we hold onto, whether it is our own, or energy from those around us. When energy is stuck or stagnant in the body, we can start to feel sluggish, have aches and pains, brain fog, and negative emotional feelings. Reiki helps move that energy out of the body. I am excited to share my practice and grow in the Hayward community and surrounding areas.https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100091118535745&mibextid=LQQJ4d
Meet Kaylyn:Hello There! My name is Kaylyn Kubishak and I am a 200hr Registered Vinyasa Yoga Instructor. I have been teaching yoga since August of 2018. I fell in love with yoga when I was 13 years old, after my first class I knew right away that I wanted to be an instructor. Yoga helped me develop a healthy relationship with my body after struggling with a number of health issues, yoga taught me to love and appreciate my body no matter the circumstance. It has also encouraged me to grow, take action on my goals, and cherish the present moment. This practice has helped me in so many ways, and I love sharing its magic. Outside of teaching yoga, I am Business Development Vice President at a private equity firm. Which is pretty fun, but I love to be creative, so on the side I do Makeup for special events like weddings, baby showers, photoshoots, prom, etc. I also have a small business called Edit Apparel, where I make cut off shorts, distressed denim jackets, pants, cropped tees, and flannels from 2nd hand clothing or what I like to call 'preloved textiles'. If you want to check out some of my work you can visit @miss.glowup or @edit.apparel on instagram! I am super excited to meet all of you and take some time to nurture our divine feminine.

Deciding WHen to Compete: A conversation between a competitor & her coach
We all decide to compete for different reasons, listen in to hear why Robin and her coach, Kelsie, decided to post pone her competition season.
Robin first reached out to Kelsie in September of 2018, but life just wasn’t ready for Robin to compete so she took a year to let the dust settle in her life. They didn’t chopse a show date until Kelsie felt Robin was ready to begin. Robin needed to be ready physically, mentally, and financially before they began contest prep. They didn’t rush into a show, they waited until the timing was right.

Listen to Jeffrey and Camille discuss the latest trends we've seen since the nation has been largely working from home!
This quote from the Suble Art of not giving a F*** really made me stop and realize this association. I quickly called anita and requested to podcast about it. I was awestruck to hear the ways Anita put the concepts together and It helped to fill out my own mental map of all of these feelings and emotions ( Honesty, rejection, energy, passion, love, entitlement, values, language, communication, excuses and more!)
Listen to Kelsie and I as we talk through my most recent battle between building self confidence and keeping ego in check
What are your core values? How fast do you want to go to make these changes should directly correlate with how much of your life you are willing to change? If you want to change, you have to change something. Bottom LIne. You deserve the change because you are worth it. You have to care about your health and well being more than anyone else in the world. If you aren't able to hold yourself accountable, find someone who will. Friend, Coach, Trainer, find someone who believes in you more than you do.

Whether you believe in the Law of Attraction or not, there is no doubt that your thoughts impact the life you live.
Where do I start? Reading the book "Law of Attraction" is a great place to start. Flood your daily sight with positive thoughts and words. Cover your mirrors with positive quotes and create a vision board that you look at daily. Practice daily gratitude, this is the easiest way to stop a negative thought in its tracks and replace it with a positive one.
No one wants to be around an Eeyore with a bad attitude. It can feel like you just want to curl in a ball and wait to be saved by a friend or loved one, but putting your happiness in the hands of someone else is setting yourself up for failure. Start to build up your self confidence by redirecting your negative thoughts into positive thoughts one at a time.
Get your brain in a neutral zone and make decisions that are within your swinging distance so that you can start to bring up your batting average.
The media you consume and the people you spend your time with all contribute to the law of attraction. What you think about your bring about.
Create a routine, but at the end of the day let yourself do what feels good. Create change by attacking the physical with preparation and execution and attack the mental by pouring in good brain food and choosing to redirect your thoughts!
How often should you weigh yourself? Tracking your weight every day allows you to consider the multiple factors that can contribute to weight fluctuations
What are reasons my weight could go up? Glycogen Water Sodium Menstruation Bowel Movements Inflammation (of numerous kinds) Many More
What are some general wellness guidelines? 2 servings of fruits 2 servings of leafy greens 2 servings of any vegetables 90+ minutes of cardio per week 3 days of resistance training ( Full body - push, pull, legs)
Some great takeaways: - Don't focus on what foods you can't have - Worry about your potassium to sodium ratio, not just reducing sodium - Get clear about your goals ( lose weight OR gain muscle) - Your food contributes to your energy - Cronometer.com is a great resource for tracking weight and micronutrients (and macros of course)
30 day challenge - Track your weight or Track your food

A little more about Christine; " I have been mentoring women to feel better about themselves for over 30 years. I started as a professional athlete who coached women to confidence through nutrition, weight training and athletic competition. In 2017 I hired a life coach who changed my life, I had found the true path to inner peace, confidence and fulfillment. I am now a life success coach who helps women discover their true selves and boldly go live it out."
NPC Competitor Mary Grande Kruchten has alot to say about the humorous side of contest prep, especially during those last few weeks!!
I was feeling fairly uninspired when it came time to record this podcast and I had a random fun idea to ask random questions in regards to food and take turns answering them. This podcast left me feeling inspired to grocery shop and cook food for the week! I hope you enjoy!
Anita and Annie touch base and talk about how prep is going and dissected the parts of a bad day on contest prep and how to work through it.
Anita interviewed a soon-to-be first time competitor. Her website is bunnyflexfit.com Her definition of success will not be a trophy or a place, but her success will be the transformation her body goes through during this process. She plans on competing in the 2019 Mr. and Mrs. Natural Minnesota Bodybuilding Competition on May 24th and 25th.
"-Thinking about nutrition serving as the prevention of diseases, not just flavors of food. - Thinking about exercise as a way to combat depression or anxiety instead of just a requirement to low body fat."
These were the two biggest takeaways I got from listening to this weeks episode of Sowle Sisters Balancing act where Anita flew solo this episode when she talked to first-time competitor Annie Rathman!
This was SO fun to listen to for me! I actually related to her viewpoint SO much. I wish other bikini competitors would also shift focus on certain aspects of competing. They touch on - Definition of a successful prep - Nah- Sayers - Getting offended - The effects of fitness in other ways than vanity -Thinking about nutrition serving as the prevention of diseases, not just flavors of food. - Thinking about exercise as a way to combat depression or anxiety instead of just a requirement for low body fat. - Life happens -Intuitive Eating
Make to check out Annies blog she mentioned in the episode! https://bunnyflexfit.com/2019/01/18/how-fear-is-your-most-powerful-emotion/
Anita and I discuss the top 16 excuses why people fall off of their nutrition plan and provide tangible solutions to these problems!!
