The Identity-Bound Podcast series are biblical based messages, wrapped in the stories of everyday challenges, we all face, about who we are now and reaching who we are called to be. We hope these episodes encourage you to be strong in your season and step into everything that God has for you; everything we know you can be.
The Lord is my strength and shield. I will trust Him always. - Psalm 28:7
In this episode, we the Identity-Bound are redefining what it means to be strong and to have strength. With the world having so much to say about what strong women and, particularly men, should look like and how they should act, it’s about time we talk about and understand what the Bible has to say about it all.
READ BEFORE YOU PRESS PLAY: Now that I believe we've got the first part down, you may not believe you do but I do, it's time to figure out what happens next. And I had a revelation of it being like this:
Imagine our tree, the biggest, strongest tree we've seen in ages. You and I are both aware that if that tree and it's roots were removed from the ground, no matter how big and strong it WAS, it will eventually lose it's strength, it's ability to stand tall, honestly, it will eventually die.
Now, we don't want any of that to happen to our soul or our spiritual life, I'm sure some of you feel like you've been through that feeling enough to last you a life time of hurt and pain. So much like our tree, we've got to keep our roots in the ground; we've got to remain in the foundation with which we first began to grow in.
But what does that word mean, remain? Well, there's only one way to find out. CLICK PLAY!
You may know that God calls you by name, showing how much He knows and loves you. But the message that He has for us today is that He can call us by a name that we have rejected or hidden away, with the intent of protecting ourselves, but that if we answer He can impart on us some of the the plans He has to prosper us; plans we would have otherwise missed.
Who has been your starting point lately: God or yourself?
In our first ever episode together, we are going to talk about how easy it is for us to fall into the trap of rooting our lives in ourselves and what we can achieve. As always we will also be using scripture to talk about why it is necessary and how we can start to root our lives in Christ with (seemingly)little things every day.
