This week’s webinar was a record-breaker, with over two thousand folks showing up to hear the words of Mr Mark Ritson. The chat feature went OFF. In fact, we couldn’t really keep up with it. So many emojis, so many brilliant questions.
Thank you to all of you who showed up, and the biggest thank you to Mark for staying up until 2am Australia time to outline 10 things that smaller businesses can do to grow and thrive.
We’ve distilled down the key insights below, but for top enjoyment, we recommend watching the session yourself and hearing Mark in action. Be warned – the language is definitely NSFW!
For the final webinar of season 10, we were joined by the ever-lovely TMM community member, Katie Martin.
Fun fact #1 about Katie - her great, great, great grandfather invented the Terry’s Chocolate Orange!
Fun fact #2 - Katie has spent the last 12 years working at innocent - which means she really knows her onions (and bananas) when it comes to marketing, change and growth.
Which is exactly what this session was all about. Over the course of an hour, Katie covered:
🍌 the ingredients needed for embracing change
❓ the importance of curiosity
🌳 why cultivating a growth mindset matters
Katie’s answers to the community questions were just as thoughtful as her presentation, so do give the full thing a watch below, or read on for the key takeaways.

Marketing Careers: What you need to know about getting to CMO - Jon Evans, The Uncensored CMO
The Barbie marketing team have been doing a BRILLIANT job.
Pink billboard ads. Shots of the dream house the team built in Malibu. Behind-the-scenes tours with Margot Robbie and more. The team behind advertising the new Barbie Movie have been doing a BIG job, gathering their efforts behind the Barbie film, to be released on July 21st.
The attention feels impressive. Barbie had been struggling to remain relevant for quite a while. From her peak in the 90s as the unchallenged queen of the dollhouse, Barbie’s sales saw a sharp drop in the following decades – eight successive quarters of decline was reported in 2015.
Yet by 2021, the brand posted record sales of $1.7 Billion for Mattel. While 2023 started with “profits and revenue had fallen short of forecasts” it feels like momentum is gathering behind the film on social media, at the very least.
But I can’t help shake the feeling that building an entire house and having Margot Robbie showing the internet around it isn’t available to most marketers.
So, here are six principles we can take from Barbie, but applying them in a world that feels a bit closer and available to the rest of us...
Sophie and Olivia have built amazing communities within the marketing industry. In this Q&A session, we find out how they've done it, why they've done it and some of the reasons they've been so successful.
So if you're keen to build your own engaged community online, this is a 'must-listen' episode
“Confidence doesn’t come before doing the scary thing. It comes from doing the scary thing.”
That’s Nausheen I. Chen’s philosophy on public speaking. In fact, that’s Nausheen’s philosophy on speaking, full stop. Whether you’re giving a presentation at work, talking on a zoom call, or you’ve been asked to contribute in a meeting, speaking up and out can be terrifying.
In last week’s webinar, speaking coach, multiple Ted X presenter, and all-round legend, Nausheen, shared her advice on how to speak on camera with more confidence.
She covered:
🛣️ her journey to becoming an executive speaking coach
🔈 why it’s important to project confidence
⭕ how to build positive feedback loops into your speaking opportunities
Conscious creativity: Creativity without costing the earth - Jax Davey and Seb Royce, Neuvo
If Aliens landed on planet earth and walked into a marketing conference, they would be forgiven for thinking that the only companies who engaged in marketing activity was Apple, Patagonia, Nike, and the overlord of our profession was Ryan Reynolds.
Now - I’m not saying the world wouldn’t be a better place with Ryan Reynolds in charge - he is a handsome and talented man. And undeniably these companies smash it in their own ways. But it’s a misnomer to believe that we should all be following their example.
Imagine two friends, Mary and Timmy, standing next to each other by the waterside.
As the sun sets, Timmy starts throwing pebbles into the lake - seeing the ripples spread slowly and calmly across the surface of the water.
Mary isn’t like that though - Mary summons her inner hulk and grabs a boulder, catapulting it into the water nearby. The ensuing waves engulf Timmy’s efforts making him sad inside.
Paul Dyson’s now famous study into the factors that impact ad effectiveness place ‘brand size’ squarely at the top (i.e. if you’re famous - you’re going to land with more impact). According to YouGov 99% of the UK’s businesses are SMEs. While imprecise as a measure, broadly this speaks to the idea that most of us are playing with pebbles - not boulders. Put another way - being a world famous movie actor is not hugely replicable.
Acacdotally this rings true: most marketers I chat to at The Marketing Meetup are sat alone, or in a small team on an industrial estate outside Newmarket (other market towns are available) with single glazing and a boss who sees marketing as either the selling department or crayon department. A far stride from the steel and glass of the Nike’s of the world.
So - what is at our disposal?
Well for the most part while the temptation is to want to chat about sophisticated mass marketing and the long and the short of it, just getting the fundamentals of marketing right puts us at an advantage over most of our competitors in an industry where most of us (including me at the beginning of my career) spent time pinging between tactics.
In essence, what most marketers lack is a proper strategy. But for those with minimal resources - how do we create something that allows us to create a realistic strategy that is actionable and likely to be actually used and not sit in a document? Well, hopefully, this helps…

Amy Elliott is Head of Copy at Lightbulb Media – an agency based in Manchester who provide digital marketing support without the BS.
Amy took to the TMM stage to share an energetic, fun-filled session where she covered the value of individuality in writing, and how to escape the trap of using other people’s templates. It was a mini copywriting masterclass, full of anecdotes, applicable frameworks, and of course, really good words.
Recently I was approached by a micro business about how they could market themselves.
They had little budget to pay for professionals - and it quickly became apparent they were in danger of pinging from one tactic to another.
I see the same thing play out in marketing teams across the land - particularly for those in small or solo marketing teams (I was in that camp for a long time!)
So while I wanted to bang on about 'salience', 'the long and the short of it' and much more - that wasn't their requirement.
So it got me thinking about the minimum marketing strategy I think people create to give purpose and consistency to their work.
And on Friday at 09.30, I'll share how to build it. We'll be ignoring a lot of nuances, but a little strategy is better than no strategy at all.
Marketing is inherently neither good nor bad, but as the general public often remind us, we should always question its purpose and how we use it.
Today's TMM webinar doesn't start from a place of 'look at AI'.
It starts from a place of 'this stuff is big and interesting, now - how can we as marketing humans actually use it to improve our lives?', exploring:
🚀 The basics of AI and how it can benefit your marketing efforts
🚀 Real-world examples of AI in action in marketing
🚀 Practical tips for implementing AI in your marketing strategy
🚀 Future trends and opportunities in AI for marketing

On Tuesday morning, Eman Ismail took to the virtual stage for the last of the season 9 webinars.
Eman is a freelance pro, the founder of Eman Copy Co, host of the Mistakes That Made Me podcast, and most recently, the cover star of Freelance Magazine.
The setup for Eman’s session was a guide for how to successfully smash the freelance life. What followed was an hour of practical advice, thoughtfulness, and so much positivity. Eman embodies what we value most at TMM.
Eman’s working story is impressive to say the least. Back in 2018, after a stint in-house at a charity, Eman set up shop as a pen-for-hire - a copywriting freelancer. With a 2-year old son in tow, the first few years were not easy. Eman explains how they cycled through feast and famine mode, figuring out how to make it work. Then, Covid hit, and Eman’s childcare setup went out the window. Now, in 2023, she’s a mama of 2 with a 6 figure copywriting business who enjoyed 7-8 months of self-funded maternity leave and all of the freedom and flexibility to work in a way that works for her family. How did she do it?
Watch the video playback here or read on for Eman’s 6 tips to go from surviving to thriving as a freelancer.

Without meaning to be overly tactical - Tik Tok is a no-brainer for some folks.
Those who work in exciting brands are benefitting from incredible reach and virality. Proper good top of funnel awareness.
But most of us don't work in companies like that.
Most of us work in companies that some (not me, of course) would call... normal. So maybe Tik Tok just isn't for us?
Well... Dan Knowlton is a marketing agency owner - perhaps a company closer to the latter of the two types of company listed above.
And yet over the past six months he seen real, tangible results from Tik Tok.
Today, he'll be sharing his journey - warts and all, about what he's learned from this newest social platform from the perspective of someone in a more 'normal' company - and what you can do about it.

Richard Cook works in the banking sector: not an industry known for high class social media.
And yet, Monzo bank stands out in the market. Whether it’s embracing Tik Tok or Tweets that get people talking.
So how can you embrace the true essence of social media in industries and companies that aren’t known for it? How can you make a splash when there is every reason not to? And how can you have fun on social media, not just do it for the sake of it?

As marketers, we love to say that data drives many of our decisions, strategies and tactical implementation.
Yet, the reality is for many marketers that we either don’t know how or where to find meaningful data. Even if we do have the raw data: bringing it to life in a way that tells stories that work both internally and externally is a challenge.

He finds and creates data, and then uses it to tell stories that get buy-in from internal teams, or press for his clients. In this session, he’ll share:
His research methods and sources for data gathering
How he turns these into stories that create impact internally and externally
Real-life examples of putting this into practice

When planning digital campaigns, the focus is firmly on the data and rightly so. However, whilst we tend to create strategies based on the data we do have, the data that we don't have can be just as valuable but often gets overlooked.
The reality is, no matter how much we know about our customer, product and channels, all strategies are based on assumptions. In this talk, we will discuss how we can not only identify those assumptions but turn them into optimisation opportunities that will help us improve future campaign performance and ultimately meet our business objectives.

The pressure is real for brands to constantly be churning out fresh content and be “always on.” Research shows time and again that the brands that do always-on marketing well are often considered more recognizable and relevant. But it's not easy to implement.
In addition to always running campaigns, marketers need to ensure the content they promote is relevant throughout their prospect's buying journey. How does one be always on without having to always be working?
In this session, LinkedIn’s Senior Content Solutions Consultant Purna Virji shares how marketers can re-think their content planning approach and share frameworks and best-in-class examples for designing a scalable and sustainable always on content strategy.
At the end of 2020, Sophie Cross had an idea. A good old fashioned magazine in a time where the prevailing wisdom is to go digital.
In a few short months, Sophie conceptualised the magazine, targeted an audience, smashed her £12,000 target on Kickstarter, created and edited the magazine and had it land on doorsteps around the world.
How did she do it? This is the story.
Many marketers spend tons of money improving their SEO, creating blog content, investing in digital advertising, and doing all sorts of things to drive loads of traffic to their sites.

Marketers… all we do is communicate with other people.
But, there is really skill and nuance found in how we interact on a one to one basis: how we build relationships.

Fiverr are building a brand that is becoming ubiquitous in the world. But, the company remains young.

Tim Soulo is the CMO of Ahrefs. In this session, we asked him about the journey of growing Ahrefs to a site that measures its website traffic in the millions – and how you can build traffic to your website too. How do you build traffic to your website – key takeaways: Is SEO for your business? SEO isn’t for everyone. It’s worth asking the question of whether there is enough search traffic volume to even support your SEO efforts. If there isn’t – it might be worth considering prioritising other channels.
On SEO hacks One of the first themes was to “stop looking for magic bullets. That doesn’t exist. SEO happens because you do the work”. Simply put – great things take time, original thoughts, and having the fundamentals right before building great work off the back of this. This was a great point of encouragement to simply slow down. Much of Tim’s success can be pointed to a cumulation of efforts over a long time, rather than quick hacks.
Is your content marketing tied back to the business? Ahrefs have a three-level scoring system for blog posts, and whether the content they are producing is aligned to their business. Every post Ahrefs produce will be aligned against these levels. Ultimately, as marketers, the goal isn’t just to drive traffic, but traffic that converts. Having these levels also enables you to gain greater focus on what you are producing, as you are no longer just producing random bits of content for the sake of traffic, but you’re doing so with purpose.
How do you find time for content creation? Creation of content can be seen through two lenses. The first is time ‘spent’ and the second is time ‘invested’. Tim gave the example of a blog post he wrote a number of years ago that required him to get in touch with 500 different people to ask them to share their Google Analytics data, so he could investigate the ROI of guest posting. Years on, this post has still not been superseded at the top of Google for its ranking terms because no one else has put in the same amount of work to create something as valuable. Time invested in content where the author behaves more like a journalist than a copywriter yields results.
How do you convince cynical members of your company of the value of investing in SEO? Simply, then the competition is capturing free results that you are not.
How do you measure the value of SEO? Measurement of the impact of SEO and Content Marketing is not as simple as it seems. Tim points to at least 10 different ways content affect his business, but it would be difficult to attribute success to them. At Ahrefs, they don’t actually measure these things as a result!
Great copy can be the difference between making a sale, or not converting at all. Compelling someone to act, or losing them forever.

How can you build customer loyalty?
When you treat your customers the same way you treat your closest friends, you unlock this caring two-way relationship that rewards you with trust, love and loyalty.
Marisa found this out for herself when she gave our customers the chance to opt-out of emails about sensitive occasions (like Mother’s Day) in 2019. The response from our customers was unexpectedly huge.
In this webinar, Marisa discusses how when you put the data down, you can start to win loyalty through two way customer relationships.
In the final stages of hypothermia, people often engage in “paradoxical undressing”. As they lose rationality, they feel irrationally hot. They strip off their clothes and hasten their own death. Marketing is not a matter of life or death. Far (so very far) from it.
Yet how we present ideas, how we glorify risk, and dare to talk of being brave is equally as absurd. And ultimately self-defeating.
In this session Giles and Ryan will share:
• How best to present risk vs reward
• How to better communicate the value of creativity
• And share why being “brave” can be a fool’s errand

What is the best way to work with a professional video agency, and how do you implement professional video into your marketing mix? We all know the best way to sell a product is to build trust with the purchaser right? The best way to build trust is face to face. With the increasing limitations we are dealt with on a daily basis (leaving us in tiers…) we can’t meet everyone face to face so the next best thing is video.

Yes, there are some books around positioning for brands with big ad budgets or for B2B software companies, but what about the rest? How do you actually do it if the product or service you’re selling isn’t remarkable in itself? How do you actually do it if you want to start small and make just one of your blog posts stand out?
Our products compete in markets that are frightfully crowded and competitive. Competition comes in different forms including “The Hordes” (me-too copycats that claim to do what you do), “The Giants” (established market leaders who are a “safe” choice) and “The Ghosts” (the invisible but very real option of choosing nothing and sticking to the status quo).
In this session, April teaches you how smart positioning can ensure you outrun the Hordes, use the strength of the Giants against them, and bust the Ghosts by leveraging the momentum of trends.

By the end, I hope you would have learned something new, had your perspective shifted, and have a bunch of things you can implement at the end. Daniel approached his talk by structuring as so:

Well, to complement his excellent book, Beloved Brands, Graham Robertson gave us the whistle-stop tour of how to create brands that people don’t just engage with, they love them. This talk isn’t just theory – it’s super practical too.
Some of the headlines included:
Graham’s profile:
We’re really excited to have the author of Beloved Brands, and founder of the namesake company speaking with us. Graham Robertson.
Professionally, Graham has led some of the world’s most beloved brands at Johnson and Johnson, Coke, General Mills, and Pfizer, rising up to VP Marketing. He’s won numerous awards including Marketing Magazine’s “Marketer of the Year”, BusinessWeek’s best new product award and 4 Effie advertising awards. His book, Beloved Brands, is the playbook for how to build a brand that consumers will love. Might I say with it sat on my desk with tea stains very happily on it, that it’s one of the most practical marketing/business books I have ever read.
On a personal level, we first came into contact with Graham at the beginning of lockdown when we announced our webinar schedule. We asked the community who else they’d like to see and Graham’s name was mentioned a couple of times. Some days later we were on a call and we immediately saw why people were so keen to have him involved. Not only is Graham’s philosophy very much in line with everything we’re trying to do with The Marketing Meetup (he speaks about love for goodness sake!), but having had the chance to work through his book, Beloved Brands, he also outlines very practical steps on how you can go about creating a brand that matters, truly.
Graham himself posted possibly the best explanation why this session is relevant. We would try and add to it, but he said it best, so here it is: The reason behind creating beloved brands is simple; you make more money. If consumers love your brand, they think less and feel more. They cheer on your every move; defend you at parties, buy the mugs….pay higher prices. Retailers cave to your every demand. Suppliers cut their costs to be part of your roster. Competitors can’t replicate the emotional bond. You can enter new markets, and your consumers will follow. Higher usage frequency as your brand becomes linked to their favorite part of their day or week or year. You don’t need to promote on price. People want to work for your company, and they know everything about your brand on day 1. You get free media, easier search, free influencers talk. The more love you can generate with your most cherished consumers, the more power, growth, and profit you command.
Russell Parsons sits on top of one of the marketing industry's most important publications. As an influencer, a change maker, a critic, and a promoter, his views are so interesting to hear from the horses mouth. We also snuck in a few tactical questions on what really works on the PR front if you're looking to be featured in Marketing Week. *Some of the headlines included:
Knowing your audience and what they are interested in
Write about content that matters. What will make a difference in the audience’s professional lives?
Measuring success on impact and influence vs vanity metrics
Sometimes it is essential to say the things that others don’t want to - be bold
Understand the context that you’re writing in
Learn your craft and get as much experience as possible.*
These past 10 weeks or so have hit us all like a cannonball, and while there have been many who suffer as a result, in the business context, the jobs market has been one of those to be hit hardest. Government figures yesterday estimated a quarter of the workforce is now on furlough, but there is also a vast amount who are now unemployed, or were looking before and now left reeling.
In this session, Dominic and Rob cover:
For everyone persuasion forms a huge part of what we all do. We tend to think that this is territory just for salespeople.
There is a great deal we can all learn about how to move others to our point of view. In this session, we will focus on the techniques we can apply to get people there.
There is a whole range of myths about how persuasion works and many are just that, myths that don't work.
Linkedin is an unbelievable platform for marketers, but so many of us aren’t taking advantage of what is truly a golden age of the platform. It’s been said before, but this won’t last forever, so we got John Espirian to share his hints and tips in a concentrated hour of amazingness. In this session, John covers:
Today we have the absolute pleasure of welcoming Emma Honeybone to speak with us.
Emma is the Head of Relationship Marketing at Engine Group - a global agency which, if Linkedin is to be believed, is comprised of 1,400 incredible people working with the likes of Coca Cola, Under Armour, Sky, Domino’s, the RAF, Unilever, and many more.
Emma herself has been on an incredible journey through marketing over the past number of years. Starting at BT, she’s held a vast array of marketing roles in a whole range of companies. Today she’s responsible for ‘all the fun stuff at Engine’ - specifically, engagement with clients throughout the whole Engine group, which would no doubt have been interesting in the past 9 weeks.
The reason this session is relevant today is we’ve seen a monumental shift in the world in the past couple of months. The gut feeling would be that this changes everything. Both Emma and us share an opinion that in fact, much has stayed the same when it comes to putting on a great event. This session will discuss and look at both, before answering your questions.
Want to thank the sponsors, all of whom have been unbelievable. They’ve really kept this show on the road, and while I’ve been so blessed to have received so many messages from the community, these folks all deserve a huge amount of credit. I won’t go into depth here because of the email I will send after, but I want to thank Pitch, ContentCal, Fiverr, Redgate, Cambridge Marketing College, Leadoo, Brand, Further, Third Light, Bravo and Human. One ask: thank the people who help us.
The coronavirus crisis will test us all as marketers. Mark Ritson doesn’t pretend to have the answers, but he has earned the right to have an opinion worth listening to after a storied career that has left him as one of the world’s best known marketers. In this session, Mark covers:
Too often, the finance team is presented as the enemy - the unreasonable person delivering the 'computer says no' answer to marketers. In this webinar with Deepa Shah, we debunked some of the myths surrounding the relationship between finance and marketing, and much more.
Specifically, our questioning focused on:
COVID-19 has turned the world upside down in every way, including how we market ourselves. But how have brands reacted to COVID-19 with their influencer campaigns, and who is being successful?
In this brilliant session, Lisa shares her thoughts, with evidence, on the following topics:
– How can brands continue connecting with their consumers?
– How can brands continue making assets, even without access to studios and proper equipment?
– And how can brands make the most of their budgets, despite them being slashed right now?
Margaret Molloy, Global CMO of Siegel+Gale, is one of the world’s foremost marketers when it comes to branding. The 2020 Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has brought into focus some of the key tenets of great brand strategy and implementation. In this comprehensive Q&A, Margaret addresses some of the challenges facing brands and marketers alike during this period of change, as well as what they can do about it.
Dave represents one of the most exciting practitioners in the marketing industry today. Working in several of Bostons best-known companies since 2009 including Constant Contact and HubSpot, although, Dave came into view with his work at Drift. For TMM, during these times whenever anyone asked who was killing it in the marketing world, we would always revert to the work being done by Drift at the time.
Since December 2019, Dave has been the CMO of Privy, a company focusing on helping e-commerce brands increase their growth through conversion and email marketing tools. In his spare time, he also is a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School, and maintains his Patreon following – the A-List, which you can be part of too.
There are two things we’ve really come to admire about Dave. The first is that he is a dedicated family man . But perhaps the thing that has most impressed me about Dave is his willingness to share. He could probably sneeze on Linkedin and get 1000 likes on the platform these days, but we know we have personally gained a lot from Dave’s work.
Rory Sutherland, Vice-Chairman at Ogilvy UK, is famous for his unique perspectives, witty anecdotes, and being an all round legend. The 2020 Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has brought into focus an opportunity for businesses and marketers across the world to reevaluate their activity, reflecting on where we’ve gone wrong so far, and where we can do better in the future.
In this comprehensive webinar, Rory addresses some of the failings COVID has brought to light and also the opportunities during this period of change.
Some key points covered were:
– How the virus has forced us to reevaluate team communications, how introverts and extroverts interact, and how Zoom in particular has been a great asset for businesses acting in the current environment.
– How the current model of being paid by the hour makes no sense in the current agency environment as the value we add is not proportionate to the time it takes
– Kano theory – A model for explaining how moments of magic have the ability to delight the customer. Not only this, but how these moments of magic, often the first things to be cut from a budget, can be key drivers of commercial success.
– And just so so so so much more.
BAU is drowning us in a sea of indifference. We’re becoming part of the wallpaper. People walk past us every day, but they never stop to notice us.
Things need to change.
In this podcast, Mike Blake-Crawford, Strategy Director of Social Chain discusses how business as usual, is dead. He also explains how killer creative, along with a purposeful content strategy can make your brand stand out from the crowd.
One thing that’s become apparent to us marketers over recent years, is data is king. Data has taught us so much about the human psyche, we’re now able to manipulate it in ways we could previously, have never even dreamed of.
But do you know what the crazy part is? We haven’t even begun to scratch the surface.
That’s right. What we think we know, we don’t.
In this podcast, Kris Tait, Managing Director of Croud, explains why marketing attribution needs to start over. And, to do it successfully we REALLY need to understand our customers.
A sales pitch. Everyone’s favourite pastime. You get to waste a good chunk of your day listening to someone tell you why their product/service is so amazing, and why you should give them all of your money for it.
Yet, it’s obvious they’ve done absolutely zero research on you, they’re not asking how their product can better your life, they just see you as the money. It’s a waste of everyone’s time. Unfortunately, it seems to be the going rate nowadays.
It’s about time we change things up.
Jon Torrens is a former stand up comic, and current-day communications coach.
In this talk, Jon tells us everything you do in a sales pitch needs to be geared towards gaining your audience’s trust. People go off their gut, if something isn’t right then they won’t buy-in, even if you do have the most amazing product the world has ever seen.
Anyone can host an event, it’s easy. Decide a date, a venue, send out some invites and provide some refreshments (we hear pizza and beer work well) on the day, jobs a good un.
Well actually, it’s far from it.
In this podcast, Emma Honeybone, head of relationship marketing for Engine Group, gives us her take on events and the process she puts into them.
The reality of many marketer’s jobs is having to come up with multiple pieces of brand new content, from scratch... everyday. On top of that it has to be relevant, engaging and win the internet… It’s no wonder we’ve never got enough time or feel like we’ve run out of ideas.
So, how do you fill the gaps in your feed with stuff that matters?
Well, Andy Lambert, Director of ContentCal tells us exactly how in our latest podcast. He also arms us with a content management plan, as well as a list of tools to help us execute it efficiently.

So, you want to be your own boss? Lessons from two years on a rollercoaster ride. I was a marketing manager at a tech firm. My salary was creeping up, the mortgage was going down, our annual holidays were getting more epic. Then I quit, with no real plan other than “let’s start our own business”. Fast forward two years and I’ve had months I couldn’t pay myself. I ran our business while travelling across Asia. I’ve scrambled to figure out how on earth you run PAYE, what GDPR means for a small business, and how to get clients when all you can hear is crickets. One hell of a rollercoaster ride later, I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned for anyone who thinks “Screw this. I’m going to do it for myself!” and I’ll be revealing how we plan to go from feast and famine months to something a little more stable.

As a YouTuber and influencer himself, Harry was unhappy with the way brands interacted with people like himself and so set out to create a business that offered much more than just introductions to people with large social audiences. Harry's talk will help you understand how you can drive genuine value to your brand by using influencer marketing.
We make quick - and accurate - judgments of the people we interact with, and adjust how we talk to them accordingly. Hundreds of thousands of years of hardwired intuition and empathy guide our social interactions. Brands have been lacking this nuance - until now. A combination of data science and behavioural science allows brands to understand consumers’ personalities and talk to them in the best way. If, for example, their Amazon history shows they like dark chocolate and gin, talk to them in a blunter and swearier way.
In this whistle stop tour of SEO, Hannah Thorpe delivers some very very actionable advice for anyone looking to get more traffic to their site.

In this talk, James Parton gives the inside track of how to create a movement, just like he did at Twilio, the unicorn tech company just a few years ago.

In this talk, Ed shares why he thinks Freelance Heroes has been a grown and been successful, and the steps he has taken to make it such.

In this talk by Daisy Kingham, she takes you through her model for deciding what to say no to - leaving you with a model for prioritisation, as well as grounds for saying no, but in a nice way.
