Inspired by the late Journey Bessai, the J2HM was founded as a means to educate the world about the possible complications involved with carrying the sickle cell trait (SCT), such as Renal Medullary Carcinoma (RMC). Prior to her RMC diagnosis, Journey was full of life, talent and dreams, but in only a 5-month period her dreams shattered as she began to realize the inevitable; life was slipping away. Before Journey’s death, she spoke about spreading the word about the sickle cell trait to the masses. Because of the pain that she endured and also what heartache her family experienced, this movement was established. www.journeytohappinessmovement.org

Last, her fear for her children growing up at this time in history under this administration I believe you will NOT want to miss. We are all connected. Thank you Meghan for sharing a "true conversation!" - Atiba President and Founder of Party Politics US

What insights does he have for young families today about enriching their lives, making the choice between money and dreams? A lot.
Chris Barber, of Cheaper Than a Geek located in Crofton Maryland sat down to hash out some very real professional and parenting moments when it comes to the ever changing platform of technology, his profession, and kids.
We delved into things like how do we keep our toddlers from shopping on our cell phones? When is it appropriate to get your teenager an email address? How do we go with the flow to best prepare our children for the world in which they are going to prosper? As a dad who had started his business before his daughter was born, he also took some time to reflect on the career decision he made and how being an entrepreneur impacted his daughter's view of the world.
“We know you aren’t supposed to drink alcohol until you are 21… I don’t feel like there are hard numbers associated with when it is ok to get an email, or a cell phone. Even though I am in the technology space, I find myself a little uncertain, second guessing myself.”- Chris Barber Cheaper Than a Geek
We are joined by Josie Thompson of Josie Designs and Diosa Woods of DIOSA Inc. The conversation became so applicable to every family, not just those who are of Asian descent. Transparent and empowering conversation about bullying, self image, mental health, and success principals filled our time together.
