TheFlyingCarpet is proud to end the season with another special radioshow: this week on the carpet the members of the congolese band “Orchestre Tout Puissant Likembe KONONO N. 1 de Mingiedi”, best knowk simply as Konono N. 1. Mingiedi “le fondateur” Mawangu and the group will explain us the origins, the trayectory, the influences and the live's feeling of the band. We will listen some live exibitions of Konono: “Kulekule”, from the album Lubaku - Live in Vera, edited byTerp Records in 2003; a exclusive excerpt of their concert in Sonar 2009, “Leyisalangayizama", from Lubaku - Live in Vera. Don't loose this occasion to discover one of the most powerful african live groups of the present! We will also listen some brillant groups of the contemporary congolese scene, as Staff Benda Bilili, with the song "Staff Benda Bilili", from their 2009 LP Très Très Fort, and Kasai Allstars with the track "Kafuula Balu", from their 2008 album In the 7th Moon the Chief Turned into a Swimming Fish and Ate the Head of his Enemy by Magic.
