START!
If you thought the run up to Christmas was busy it definitely has no competition with Christmas day. So it was exhausting! And they started with Great Moments with Mr Lincoln. Very cute, patriotic (made Liesje cry with the cute song) Show. Great for rainy days. Then to Autopia! Which was interesting very branded.
Food and tiki Room!
Pizza planet was so cute and Liesje misses it from Disneyland Paris! Disneyland Paris has some food venue catch up to do! Andrea recommend the chicken fulssili because the pizza can be a hit or miss.
Of course the Tiki Room is a Disneyland classic and it's a must do with a dole whip! A firm favourite and really gave Liesje all the feels! Don't sorry she didn't cry even when she redid jungle cruise afterwards.
Rides
Going on the Mark Twain and seeing the river boats made this day in Disney feel more relaxed. Definitely very different and more interactive use of the space in and around the Mark Twain route then the DLP Molly Brown.
Then again to The Haunted Mansion with the Christmas overlay. Something to bare in mind is that even with the Lightning Lane, it was super busy and all the queues were full! So make sure to keep that expectation in mind for a holiday vacation during the season.
That also affected the business with Rise of the Resistance ride also. Which Liesje did additionally had unfortunate breakdowns but says was well worth the wait to ride again.
Hungry Bear Restaurant
A cute restaurant close to Galaxy's Edge. With two burgers and stuffed fries Liesje was in a food coma for a while.
The final walk around & Shopping!
With the visit coming to a close, it was time to walk around take the last pictures of the castle, take in the atmosphere and start the final Shopping.
Although, (note to the wise) try not to leave your shopping till the end of your visit, especially on Christmas Day. As it is crazy and it might be too late to get what you wanted in the panic rush that comes. However, DLR's merch collection and variety is so vast and amazing especially compared to Disneyland Paris.
Of course Liesje needed an extra suitcase for all the cool merch she got! But of course for Christmas to get a suitcase in DLR especially just before the stores closing time. Poor Peter had to run around just to see where to get one but Luckily He found one just in time.
In D.C.
A stressful time getting to DC. Let's just say Liesje doesn't like Delta and be prepared for a change. However, all worth it for an emotional reunion with Rob and Gabby whom Liesje hasn't seen since her wedding in 2020.
The white house, old two Virginia, George Town, obelisk, Air & Space, The Archives, The Wharf, The zoo, the capitol and lincol memorial of course were in the list. Liesje and Peter also got to scratch off the Bucket list which was to visit an American cinema, go to Walmart and Target. Also in that bucket list was going to a shooting range!

5. Andrea’s 5th show is Star Wars legends of the Force at WDS day version. Although a fun show, sadly the staging & heavy use of movie footage is lacklustre. Liesje’s 5th is the Buffalo Bill show. Old and outdated it definitely needs to make way for something new.
4. Liesje also puts Star Wars legends of the Force on her bottom list for its lack of narrative and difficult viewing. Mickey's Halloween celebration is Andrea’s 4th. It’s show stop is so short and new more restored floats need to be added. Both don't wow.
3. Are you Brave enough are Andrea’s 3rd bottom. Although Urusla’s Live vocals are amazing. The rest of the villains have playback talking which doesn’t add to already boring staging. Liesje puts the Avengers show 3rd. The lack of story and cheesy dialogue makes a cringy show.
2. Both Andrea & Liesje have Frozen a musical invitation as their 2nd. Beautiful sets with bad staging and a lost potential. Let’s not mention bad casting.
- At number 1 both Andrea & Liesje also chose Frozen enchanted journey. From the same season as our number 2, this had beautiful new floats however the playback was tacky & cheap. Plus, the staging was so badly done, guests couldn't see the show Stop.
Top 5 (Liesje only has top 2)
5. Andrea’s 5th top pick is Mickey and the Magician. Award winning show that has a little bit of everything you love about Broadway Disney shows. Greatest Disney hits with stellar staging.
4. At 4th pick is Mickey's Christmas Big Band. Great for those who love 1920’s Broadway styles, with jazzy Christmas numbers, tap numbers and characters in their glamorous style.
3. Andrea’s 3rd pick is Rhythms of the Pride lands. A wonderful acrobatic musical show of the Lion King. Definitely the best show production and stage direction that Disneyland Paris has to offer. Best quality show by far.
2. Both Liesje & Andrea’s second is Jungle Book jive! Also from the Lion King season and probably the best show/parade at Disneyland Paris. Live vocals, live drummers from India, killer dancing and beautiful music.
1. Finally Liesje’s & Andrea’s favourite Top Show is Illuminations! Of course with stunning projection mapping, fireworks and water pyro. The whole show is a wonderful show of Disney movies and really ends a Disney days with a bang!

5. Andrea chose Pocahontas village/cabane Robinson for 5th position. They are both dated and old, and can waste precious space for something better. Liesje’s 5th is Stitch Live! It is a very dated and lackluster interactive attraction.
4. Andrea’s 4th is Phillarmagic. This attraction has no purpose but to fill up space in Discoveryland in which it does not fit the land theme at all. Fantasyland’s Carousel is Liesje’s next bottom ride. This attraction is a little simple, boring but mostly the queues are normally long and so it’s not worth it.
3. Peter Pan! There is nothing technically special about this dark ride that others don’t have. Also too busy. Orbitron makes the list for Liesje. It’s basically a copy of Dumbo and in DLP we have a couple of them.
2. Both Andrea’s and Liesje’s choice is basically the same ride. Carpets of Agrabah & Dumbo. Both are very much different renditions of the same ride mechanics. For Liesje the original Dumbo ride is also deserving of the boot for the same reasons of simple, boring and too busy.
1. Orbitron was naturally the choice for the same reasons as we have said previously for all these kinds of rides. Liesje’s number 1 bottom ride is RC Racer. Although it is a fan favourite, she points out that it's not for everyone and that although the theming is beautiful it isn't anything innovative.

5. Starting with Pirates Of the Caribbean for Liesje. This Pirate ride is one of the few classics that Disneyland Paris does better than the American parks. It's newer, Longer and the drops are more dramatic. Andrea’s 5th is Star Tours. Just the fact the storylines can change with any new Star Wars IP. It keeps it fresh and new often.
4. Liesje’s 4th top is Phantom Manor. A unique, detailed and immersive storyline that is expansive to the whole of Frontierland. Big Thunder Mountain is Andrea’s 4th pick. Similar reasons to Phantom Manor, this ride is part of a wonderful interwoven storyline.
3. Liesje’s 3rd pick is Hyperspace Mountain. The best Space Mountain, It has Jules Verne décor and a rapid fast upside down loop! Pirates of the Caribbean makes it on Andrea’s list. It's longer and more refreshed than the original.
2. Crush Coaster is Liesje top 2. It’s a wonderful show of Disney themiming. Also, it helps that it shines in a park that otherwise has not a lot of attractions. Andrea’s second best ride is Ratatouille. Being authentically French and having all the small real gastronomic references just looks and sounds better. Although it isn’t an exciting ride nor innovative.
1. So if you remember your number 4’s well it’s just swapped. Liesje’s 1st is Big Thunder Mountain and Andrea’s is Phantom Manor. Really not much to say that hasn’t already been said. They are both just wonderfully concepted rides that are uniquely Disneyland Paris.
