This podcasts helps us all understand how letting our "inner artist" shine can make us more emotionally intelligent, happier, and more successful people & leaders! Moreover, this podcast is the start of a movement in de-stigmatizing and demystifying emotional concepts. In todays’ episode, I’d like to pay some respect to EPM Competition winners: Ms. Chloe Raymundo, an eloquent wise-woman of the 8th grade, and Ms. Kira Green, an emotionally literate wonder from the United Kingdom. These two young women have done an excellent job highlighting their creative intelligence through artistic mediums. I'll touch on highlights from their winner interview articles, as well as welcome back Josh Mattison to help me introduce the Cycle Three EPM Competition for Actors (or those interested in acting!) "Every human has the capacity to be completely honest with themselves... Perhaps, it is not something that is given, but something that is developed. I think being an artist and creator has developed that very ability to a large extent to be honest with myself..." — Robert Jancevic

In this episode, we have a chance to interview Robert Jancevic reaching us from Denmark— a frontman for the alternative rock band, Twin Dive, as well as the curator and writer of a Neoclassical playlist and blog, "Music Dances When You Sleep". This dichotomous musician speaks openly about how his unique musical journey helped him become more honest with himself, and the world, through his work. Using Goleman's Emotional Intelligence model, or what I refer to as, "THE MATRIX," Robert reflects on the self-awareness benefit of music throughout his life. Stay until the end for a serendipitous, and wildly humorous connection between Robert's new release, and blue dogs running rampant through Russia!

In this episode, I have a conversation with my wonderful life partner, multi-talented artist, podcaster, former basketball player, investor, and now guitar player, Josh Mattison. Josh is an incredibly diverse human being. We discuss how his guitar playing and book writing help him with confidence, as well as cover the importance of visualization for creating your art and the life you want. As described by Daniel Goleman, Josh and I reflect on what it means to be in "the flow" state, and how you don't have to be a traditional "artist" to get into "flow." Listen on to hear us reflect on the non-traditional art in our lives!

Reverend Rosanne is full of surprises! She is an ordained metaphysical minister, Reiki Master Teacher, a DJ, a dancer, an author, and an improv comedian -- and the world's most fun Gramma! Today, we cover much more than the powerful social-regulative aspects of improv comedy and DJing from THE MATRIX; Rev. Rosanne provides us with soothing guidance, and walks us through how to truly listen to ourselves.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Alex Kemp. Alex Kemp is a proud, new mother entering the final year of her doctorate in educational leadership. This impressive woman and activist shares with us all her unconstrained views on the nature of "art," inspiring all of us to reflect upon the art we experience in our own daily lives. She reflects upon her experiences through her doctoral program while discussing the two concepts that stood out to her most from Goleman's Emotional Intelligence model, "THE MATRIX": empathy, and self-control.

In this episode, I lay out the foundation a little further so you can fully understand how I will use THE MATRIX, or Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence model, for further interviews. I elaborate on my background, and share two elements from "the matrix" that jumped out to me as direct benefits from my own artistic experience: Self-Confidence, and Emotional-Awareness.

You'll learn how improvisation acting (and other forms!) helped develop my self-confidence, and also when and how I discovered emotional awareness through Chopin's "Waltz in B Minor," and experiencing my first loss.

After today's episode, I hope you reflect on possible ways art has helped you develop self-confidence & emotional awareness! If comfortable or inspired, your stories can be shared with me by contacting through my email or social media. Please feel free to use THE MATRIX, as your own personal resource and guide, attached to the link as a pdf document.

Thank you for listening! Stay youthful, stay curious, stay creative!
