Pastor Darryl's Question for this week is: How many people had to beg God to tough you?
Mark 8:22–26 English Standard Version Jesus Heals a Blind Man at Bethsaida
And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him.
And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had l spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?”
And he looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.”
Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
And he sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.”

Pastor Darryl's Question for this week is: "Which Tree are You"?
Job 14:7-9 New King James Version
“For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease.
Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground,
Yet at the scent of water it will bud And bring forth branches like a plant.

Pastor Darryl's Question for this week is: " You have more than enough "Grace." Will you extend that "Grace" to someone else?
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me, I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind but now I see.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 Amplified Bible
Because of the surpassing greatness and extraordinary nature of the revelations [which I received from God], for this reason, to keep me from thinking of myself as important, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan, to torment and harass me—to keep me from exalting myself!
Concerning this I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might leave me;
But He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My loving kindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available— regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.
So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].

Pastor Darryl's Question for this week is: "What words have you heard from "God" that you believe?"
John 16:32-33 32. Take careful notice: an hour is coming, and has arrived, when you will all be scattered, each to his own home, leaving Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

One of the greatest gifts God has given man is the ability and opportunity to repent. Without repentance we could never change to become the person God created us to be. Without repentance we would never be able to do life with God because we are fallen humans who are in continual need of forgiveness and life change. Repentance always leads to a better state and always precedes a greater measure of the Presence of God.

Job 1:13-19 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Satan Allowed to Test Job
13 Now there was a day when Job’s sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, 14 and a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were feeding beside them, 15 and the [a]Sabeans attacked and swooped down on them and took away the animals. They also killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” 16 While he was still speaking, another [messenger] also came and said, “The fire of God (lightning) has fallen from the heavens and has burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” 17 While he was still speaking, another [messenger] also came and said, “The [b]Chaldeans formed three bands and made a raid on the camels and have taken them away and have killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” 18 While he was still speaking, another [messenger] also came and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, 19 and suddenly, a great wind came from across the desert, and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
Footnotes: a. Job 1:15 Terrorizing robbers from SW Arabia. b. Job 1:17 Marauding nomads from the Arabian desert. Much later the Chaldeans became the dominant people in the Babylonian Empire.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Faith is as essential to us just as blood is to human life or oxygen is to our lungs. Faith is a core value of pleasing God. Faith and love are two essential roots of our foundation. Faith and hope are kissing cousins. When we are tested and tried we must reach beyond mental reasoning into the realm of God faith. The deeper we dig our faith well the sweeter the water.
We must train our hearts and minds to accept we must FOCUS OUR FAITH beyond today’s problems.

He Ain't Finishes With You Yet Philippians 1:6 says, "...Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
The greatest news of redemption for Christians personally is that they do not need stay the same. The Lord just receives them as they are. He takes the repentant and changes their heart. All they need to do is invite Him in and say, "Lord make my heart and life into moldable clay. Make something useful out of me for your glory, for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ." He supernaturally takes that hard heart of stone that is unable to give attention to the Lord and He gives back a heart of flesh that longs to hear from God and also pleases Jesus Christ. Christians can praise, trust and obey the Lord, knowing that He is their enabler. To enable someone is to give means, authority or power to do what you have directed them to accomplish. He not only supplies us with all that we need according to His sufficient grace, but He effects the changes in and through us for His greatest pleasure. They praise Him because He calls the plays of life and He is never wrong.
Romans 11:36 New International Version (NIV) For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Luke 2:7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
Genesis 2 New International Version (NIV) 1. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. 2. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
Genesis 8:22 New International Version (NIV) 22. “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
Galatians 6:7-9 New International Version (NIV) 7. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Isaiah 55:11 New International Version (NIV) 11. So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Proverbs 11:18 New International Version (NIV) 18. A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
Proverbs 14:14 New International Version (NIV) 14. The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways and the good rewarded for theirs.
Genesis 1:12 New International Version (NIV) 12. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Ecclesiastes 1:10 New International Version (NIV) 10. Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new” It was here already, long ago;it was here before our time.
1 Timothy 6:7-10 New International Version (NIV) 7. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Proverbs 10:22 New International Version (NIV) 22. The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.
2 Corinthians 8:1-20 New International Version (NIV) The Collection for the Lord’s People 1. And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2. In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4. they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. 5. And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us. 6. So we urged Titus, just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part. 7. But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you[a]—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 8. I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. 9. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. 10. And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. 11. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. 12. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. 13. Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. 14. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, 15. as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”[b] Titus Sent to Receive the Collection 16. Thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same concern I have for you. 17. For Titus not only welcomed our appeal, but he is coming to you with much enthusiasm and on his own initiative. 18. And we are sending along with him the brother who is praised by all the churches for his service to the gospel. 19. What is more, he was chosen by the churches to accompany us as we carry the offering, which we administer in order to honor the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help. 20. We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift.
Genesis 22:9 New International Version (NIV) 9. When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.
Ephesians 4:4-6 New International Version (NIV) 4. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5. One Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6. One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:11 New International Version (NIV) 11. So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers.
Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together,
Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?”
“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.
“The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

Genesis 22:1-18 New Living Translation (NLT) Abraham’s Faith Tested.
Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
“Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about.
On the third day of their journey, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
“Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”
6 So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together.
Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”
“God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.
When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.
And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice.
At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!”
“Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”
Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son.
Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
Then the angel of the Lord called again to Abraham from heaven.
“This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that.
I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants[a] beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies.
And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”
Matthew 28:17-19 17. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 3 New Living Translation God’s Mysterious Plan Revealed
1.When I think of all this, I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus for the benefit of you Gentiles* …
assuming, by the way, that you know God gave me the special responsibility of extending his grace to you Gentiles.
As I briefly wrote earlier, God himself revealed his mysterious plan to me.
As you read what I have written, you will understand my insight into this plan regarding Christ.
God did not reveal it to previous generations, but now by his Spirit he has revealed it to his holy apostles and prophets.
And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus.
By God’s grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading this Good News.
Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ.
I was chosen to explain to everyone* this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning.
God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Because of Christ and our faith in him,* we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.
So please don’t lose heart because of my trials here. I am suffering for you, so you should feel honored.Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Growth
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,*
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
Ephesians 1:15-23 New International Version (NIV)
For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people,
I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,
and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength
he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Luke 16:19-31 English Standard Version (ESV) The Rich Man and Lazarus 19 “There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side.[a] The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ 27 And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father's house— 28 for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”
Denial: Is not only an attempt to pretend that the loss does not exist. We are also trying to absorb and understand what is happening. Isaiah 6:1-3
Anger: Unfortunately, anger tends to be the first thing we feel when we start to release emotions related to loss. Ephesians.4:26-27
Bargaining: When our imaginations calm down and we slowly start to look at the reality of our present situation. John 11:25-26
Depression: Sadness; Gloom; Dejection. Roman 4:16-18, 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
Acceptance: Sadness and regret can still be present in this phase, but the emotional survival tactics of denial, bargaining, and anger are less likely to be present. 2Corinthains 5:1-9
What does Ephesians 1:11 Mean ? Paul next transitions to the idea of inheritance. An inheritance was of great importance in ancient society. Most people were in the same trade as their parents, and had little or no upward mobility regarding careers. A wealthy inheritance was greatly desired. What inheritance did Paul have in mind? The believer's inheritance is two-fold. First, it means becoming a child of God; this gives us the right to expect an inheritance. Second, we gain eternity with the Lord, dwelling in His righteousness for all time.
Paul again links the concepts of predestination and the will of God. Paul took great confidence in knowing that God works out all things for the good of those who believe in Him (Romans 8:28). This was based both upon the overall teaching of Scripture as well as Paul's personal life experiences. He had endured much hardship as well as joy, knowing God would care for his needs in any and every circumstance (Philippians 4:10–20).
Paul's intent here is to point out how it was Jews who were the first to accept the gospel, according to the plan of God, and for His glory (Ephesians 1:12). Unfortunately, most of Israel rejected Jesus as the Messiah. As a result, the gospel was spread to the Gentiles (Ephesians 1:13), who share in the same inheritance.
Ephesians 1:9-10 New Living Translation (NLT) 9. God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. 10. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.
Ephesians 1:4-7 (NIV)
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love.
he[a] predestined us for adoption to sonship[b] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—
to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.
Ephesians 1:5 New Living Translation - God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
Greetings from Paul 1.This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus. I am writing to God’s holy people in Ephesus,a who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus.
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Spiritual Blessings
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
1 Kings 17:8-12 New International Version (NIV) 8. Then the word of the Lord came to him: 9. “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” 10. So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, “Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?” 11. As she was going to get it, he called, “And bring me, please, a piece of bread.” 12. “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”

PURGE
Verb 1. Rid (someone or something) of an unwanted quality, condition, or feeling:"Bob had helped purge Martha of the terrible guilt that had haunted her"
Noun 1. An abrupt or violent removal of a group of people: "the savagery of the government's political purges"
Amnon and Tamar 1.After this Absalom the son of David had a lovely sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. 2. Amnon was so distressed over his sister Tamar that he became sick; for she was a virgin. And it was improper for Amnon to do anything to her. 3. But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother. Now Jonadab was a very crafty man. 4. And he said to him, “Why are you, the king’s son, becoming thinner day after day? Will you not tell me?” Amnon said to him, “I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.” 5. So Jonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me food, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’ ” 6. Then Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let Tamar my sister come and make a couple of cakes for me in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.” 7. And David sent home to Tamar, saying, “Now go to your brother Amnon’s house, and prepare food for him.” 8. So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was lying down. Then she took flour and kneaded it, made cakes in his sight, and baked the cakes. 9. And she took the pan and placed them out before him, but he refused to eat. Then Amnon said, “Have everyone go out from me.” And they all went out from him. 10.Then Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the bedroom, that I may eat from your hand.” And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them to Amnon her brother in the bedroom. 11. Now when she had brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her and said to her, “Come, lie with me, my sister.” 12. But she answered him, “No, my brother, do not [a]force me, for no such thing should be done in Israel. Do not do this disgraceful thing! 13. And I, where could I take my shame? And as for you, you would be like one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you.” 14. However, he would not heed her voice; and being stronger than she, he forced her and lay with her. 15. Then Amnon hated her [b]exceedingly, so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!” 16. So she said to him, “No, indeed! This evil of sending me away is worse than the other that you did to me.”But he would not listen to her. 17. Then he called his servant who attended him, and said, “Here! Put this woman out, away from me, and bolt the door behind her.” 18. Now she had on a robe of many colors, for the king’s virgin daughters wore such apparel. And his servant put her out and bolted the door behind her. 19. Then Tamar put ashes on her head, and tore her robe of many colors that was on her, and laid her hand on her head and went away crying bitterly.

The definition of a breakthrough is: Overcoming something and having an achievement.
An example of a Breakthrough is making a difficult new discovery for curing a disease.
Shame: A Concealed, Contagious, and Dangerous Emotion As a self-conscious emotion, shame informs us of an internal state of inadequacy, unworthiness, dishonor, regret, or disconnection. Shame is a clear signal that our positive feelings have been interrupted. Another person or a circumstance can trigger shame in us, but so can a failure to meet our own ideals or standards. Given that shame can lead us to feel as though our whole self is flawed, bad, or subject to exclusion, it motivates us to hide or to do something to save face. So it is no wonder that shame avoidance can lead to withdrawal or to addictions that attempt to mask its impact.
James 4:17 American Standard Version 17. To him therefore that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Luke 1:26-39 New International Version (NIV) The Birth of Jesus Foretold 26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” 34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” 35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[a] the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.” 38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

The Dry Bones Live 1 The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” 4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ” 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. 9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the [a]breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and [b]breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Got Life? It's Time to Get into the Game!
It's not easy playing the game of life. When we were young, we did not want to follow the rules. It gave us a sense of freedom and independence to do our own thing. But ultimately, our poor choices lead to heartache and broken relationships. As adults, we've come to understand that rules are made for our protection.
