The Bible, from Genesis through Revelation, speaks of the blessed hope. There are, however, counterfeit, false versions promoted by those who have not understood God's Word. Accept no substitutes-
Moses was a righteous man, as was his forefather, Abraham. But what really characterizes those on the path of righteousness-
God established -Genesis 3- a line of separation between the seed of Satan and the Seed of the woman. The history of fallen humanity is the history of attempts to erase that line. The transfiguration of Moses is evidence of the unity of God's covenant and His Law. It points forward to the transfiguration of Jesus. It also marks the continuation of the line separation between the seed of the serpent and the Seed of the woman.
The Lord's command to Moses to NOT engage treaties or covenants with pagan nations was taken seriously by the founders of these United States. We live today, however, with the consequences of the choices of those who have ignored God's Law.
Paul exhorts the church, and especially its leaders, to follow the pattern of sound doctrine. This is a timely message for our time. God's Law-Word authorizes the death penalty for certain sinful behaviors. His Law speaks of sins, not -crimes,- that are punishable by death under due process. Lawful authorities, as DEFINED BY GOD'S LAW are empowered to administer justice according to God's standards.
God's Law allows for the use of weapons for self defense. And so is allowed the taking away of another person's life under very specific and restricted circumstances. So called -gun control- is in reality citizen disarmament-
