When you're a parent and you're working to build a business, it can be easy to let your priorities get mixed up. But we are here to tell you: it's not just okay—it's necessary—to prioritize your family.

As parents, we have a responsibility to make sure our children grow up well-adjusted and happy, which means making time for them and being present in their lives.

If you're feeling guilty about the time you spend away from your family when you're trying to build an empire, remember that the best thing for your kids is for them to see their parents as hard workers who are doing what they love. If they see that you're putting in the effort because it matters, then they will learn from it too.

So don't feel bad about taking time away from your business!

We believe that building an empire should be fun—and nothing is more fun than spending time with your friends and family!

If you know almost nothing about your niche, or if your clients don't do anything online at all besides collect email addresses and answer a few questions, retainer services probably aren't for you.

Instead, what we recommend is getting started with a virtual VIP day package. This provides you and your client a real opportunity to meet in person or talk over the phone so that whatever you learn during that time can be turned into future content or product development.

In any industry, it's not just your brand that makes an impact but also the experience of your customers as they enter your website.

While creating a warm welcome is paramount to the success of your business, you should always remember that first impressions can be deceiving. If you don't develop a relationship with a customer, you will risk losing them forever.

What if you've always dreamed of starting your own podcast, but have no idea how to actually make that a reality?

In this workshop, Todd Cochrane of Raw Voice and Blubrry Podcasting will give you a quickstart guide to podcasting.

Blubrry Podcasting is a podcast media company that represents 105,000 audio and video podcasters in which his company provides advertising opportunities, media & media hosting, podcast media statistics, and other services.

WATCH OR LISTEN HERE.

The Future of Podcasting

If you’ve been wondering what’s the future of podcasting, and whether it’s a good investment for your business’s marketing strategy, then this article is for you.

Currently, about 120 million Americans listen to podcasts on a regular basis. And that’s not all. In 2022 this number is expected to grow to 140 million and in 2023 to 164 million.

Given the steady growth of podcast listeners in the country in the past 10 years, investing in creating content for the platform is a sure way to reach your target audience, boost brand awareness, and raise curiosity for your products and services.

Podcasting is one of those marketing channels that can be used to promote your brand offline (in real life) as well as online. Not only can you use them as entertaining content for social media platforms but also create valuable content that can be used at events or conferences where you have an opportunity to meet potential customers face-to-face.

Creating quality content for podcasts is not easy but it also doesn't have to be expensive if you choose wisely when deciding which topics will resonate most with your audience and how much time you want to spend

Why are Podcasts Essential to your Marketing Strategy

Podcasts are a great way to connect with your audience, establish an authoritative presence, and educate your listeners.

The future of podcasting looks bright, but there is considerable competition on the market. There are over 2 million podcasts currently available, and 48 million episodes have been produced by mid- 2021.

That said you shouldn’t feel discouraged to start a podcast for your business. For just one month an estimated 193 million Americans tuned in to their favorite podcast. Not only that, but the average adult listener spends 1 hour 34 minutes a day listening to podcasts!

Podcasts can be created from virtually everywhere ( commercial location, home office, shared office space). The benefits for businesses are indisputable, so it is clear that producing a podcast can help your brand grow as well!

What's the first thing you do when you open a brand new email?

You skim the subject line. Then, you skim the body copy.

Which means, your subject line is very important. But how do you write emails that people actually read?

One way is to write compelling emails with killer subject lines, hooks, and calls to action (CTA).

In this workshop, Brittany Long teaches the most important aspects of any email marketing campaign that'll help you send more emails and drive better results.

Email marketing is a great way to reach your audience, but it can be hard to know where to start.

Here are 4 wildly easy email marketing tricks that will convert your subscribers into buyers:

  1. Use a CTA in the subject line: You can use words like “click here” or “download now” to encourage people to click on that email and check out what you have for sale.
  2. Keep them short and sweet: If people have to scroll through a long email, they might not bother reading it all the way through, especially if they don’t feel personally connected to your brand yet. So try keeping emails under 500 words!
  3. Keep it personal: Use real names and images of actual people whenever possible so that your readers feel like they can connect with you as a person and know who they’re buying from—not just some faceless corporation!
  4. Include testimonials: People love hearing about how other people have used your products before them, so include testimonials from happy customers in each email newsletter you send out—you'll be surprised at how many more sales you get when readers feel like they're part of something bigger than just themselves

Have you ever felt like you were in a rut? Like you were stuck in a place that just wasn't right for you, and all you could do was wait for something to change?

So that's what I did—I set out on an adventure to find my flow. My goal? To unlock my genius and discover what makes me truly happy. And luckily for us both, I found it! Now I want to share what worked for me with others who are also looking for their own path forward.

Kristin is an entrepreneur-enthusiast who lives by the mantra "work less + make more". She enjoys helping entrepreneurs ditch the vanity metrics for true connections. She's the CEO of YesBoss, a digital agency that helps service-based business owners book podcast features, so they can generate new leads in just one hour per week.

Before living her mantra, “work less + make more” she had to “do all the things.” Kristin left Corporate America and quickly realized that she had some work to do! She started out as a virtual assistant making $15/hour. After delegating some VA duties to an intern, Kristin realized there was a strategy to working less and making more. She started a virtual assistant agency and then went on to specialize in helping her clients make connections as podcast guests.

“I don't think enough people are seeing their business as something that is outside of themselves; They're seeing their business as them. And as seeing it like that, your business is never going to grow independently. You're never going to have freedom from it." -Kristin Molenaar

Eradicating entrepreneurial stress is a goal of her business. The opportunity to connect as a podcast guest with your host and audience is one benefit of specializing as a podcast marketer.

How do you become an impressive and effective podcast guest? Kristin says, there are two ways to becoming an impressive and effective podcast guest:

  1. Following-up after the call with your host. It’s not enough to get onto a podcast, talk about yourself and leave the conversation not staying in touch with your host.
  2. You need to know what you offer. There should be no confusion about what services you offer.

“...Your stories have the most power when they have action attached to them." - Kristin Molenaar

Realizing that his wife was suffering from extreme burnout in her medical career, led Will Hahn down a path of helping professionals recognize and overcome burnout. Will researched all the medical literature relating to burnout and what he found was astonishing. Will found that there really wasn’t a lot of information in early 2011/2012 relating to burnout in the medical world. Desperate to help his wife and others suffering from burnout, he began to research. He read a lot, he talked with coaches, he studied what was working and what wasn’t. Ultimately, he determined burnout is not a one size fits all solution.

“It's not about sitting down and doing a couple of breath exercises. It's not, ‘Oh, just do 10 to 20 minutes of meditation every day.’ You're fine. You're good. The reality is we all need a very personalized solution.” - Will Hahn (Talking about burnout.)

There are everyday tools people can use to help with burnout. First, determine when you are most effective (that’s your prime time.) Take actionable steps to strategically plan your life. Give yourself a weekly review - What worked that week, what can you change, etc. And finally, be coachable. You need to take accountability so that you can be open to change. If you are suffering from imposter syndrome and feel that you’re not being transparent, you may need to seek professional help (e.g. a counselor or therapist) first.

“Dare to dream big, not just for yourself, but for the world that you can impact.” - Will Hahn

Teresa Heath-Wareing didn’t just jump into the marketing world overnight, she’s been in this field for 16 years. A midlife crisis shot Teresa into the reality of transitioning all her experience and knowledge of the marketing field into her own business. What seemed daunting at the time - She was newly divorced, living on her own with her daughter, no savings, no rich parents, a mortgage, a car, etc. - Became the ultimate motivator to become successful.

“I think I started to realize the power in me, as in people were buying into me...I was going to pitches and I was winning them based on my experience, my presentation and my personality. So I think there was like a tiny realization at that point when I handed in my notice. I thought, what if for one second, I could do this for me. So instead of earning a salary, what if I brought in the money?” - Teresa Heath Wareing

To confidently become an online marketer, Teresa says that you have to show up and produce problem solving solutions. If you want to produce content that works, you have to be real, educated and passionate about what you put out there. In today’s world there are millions of online educators and entrepreneurs, not to mention a little thing called Google, that can help your business grow. You might not be everyone’s cup of tea (or in Teresa’s world, cup of gin) but if you are authentically yourself, you will show up in all the right places.

Imagine taking a $125,000/year pay cut to pursue a new career path. Former Corporate Bankruptcy Litigator, Nick Pavlidis, did just that. Growing up, Nick always wanted to be a lawyer. The financial independence that came from this career would fulfill his dreams of providing for his family. But the long hours took a strain on his family, his marriage, and his happiness. After 10+ years in the business, Nick decided enough was enough.

“I set boundaries that I didn't set with the practice of law and just told myself I'm going to build the best business I can from 8:30 PM till midnight until it became something that I could use to quit my job.” - Nick Pavlidis

Unable to pinpoint an exact career path, he knew being a lawyer, wasn’t it. Nick left his job at the law firm, moved back to his home state of Massachusetts, took an interim job, and used his “after hours” - to test out different side hustles. Ultimately finding his true passion, ghostwriting.

What is it about ghostwriting that had Nick hooked? The storytelling! Years of oral argument in the court transitioned nicely here! After writing a short memoir he began to network like crazy. The snowball started to roll and 5+ years later he is truly happy in his career.

“Everything leads with story.” - Nick Pavlidis

Jenny worked at an ad agency for years helping Fortune 500 brands including Better Homes & Gardens, John Deere, Pella Windows and Michelin Tire create digital ads. She decided to leave her 9-5 to pursue her dreams of having more freedom. She founded a Facebook advertising business on the belief that entrepreneurs and small businesses could thrive when they implement the marketing strategies big brands use!

“People are smart. Like at this point in 2020, everyone knows what an ad is and when they're getting one. Right? So how do we build that ad flow where you know you're getting targeted but you like it and you don't care. You're like, I actually enjoy this experience.” - Jenny Singh

What moves the needle for small business owners is the question Jenny asks when creating Facebook ads for her clients. The discovery to purchase in an organic-like way is how her clients dominate the market, grow their revenue and build a dream business and life.

Leaving her cushioned corporate job was a pivotal moment for Dawn Sinkule. After 17 years, climbing the ladder of a Fortune 25 retail corporation, she made the leap into entrepreneurship. Dawn used her experience and knowledge to form a boutique agency that helps eCommerce lifestyle brands scale their business to the next level of profitability, and she hasn’t looked back.

“I think at one point I just sort of realized like, ‘Wow, I am working so hard for someone else. If I’m going to work that hard, I want to be doing it for me.’” - Dawn Sinkule

Dawn is no stranger to “doing all the things.” The first year and a half of being a solopreneur taught her that it’s necessary to delegate and build a team of like minded individuals that want to succeed. Her business began to grow and so did her knowledge of the digital space. She got to a point where she could narrow in on serving her ideal clients and rebranding her life and business.

Dawn Sinkule, is an MBA graduate, with more than 17 years in Corporate America managing Billion dollar budgets and teams of thousands. Dawn cleared all the grey suits out of her closet to create Digital Dawn Agency. Dawn has assembled the best of the best in marketing, operational strategy, design, Facebook and Instagram advertising and more to strategically support entrepreneurs as they expand their reach and their horizons. Digital Dawn's hands-on, personalized approach means that her clients won’t lose sleep over where their ad spend is going, or if they have the inventory to make it through a launch.

“In the virtual space, there is even more of an opportunity for people to design the life that they want.” - Dawn Sinkule

You don’t need a four year degree to make good money, just ask Esther Inman. CEO & Founder of Virtual Assistant Internship and the 90 DAY VA online program, Esther helps moms, military spouses, and anyone who wants to break free from the traditional 9-to-5, by teaching them how to work online as a virtual assistant (VA).

“You don’t need a four year degree to make great money online anymore. You can learn skills and make more money as time goes on.” - Esther Inman

Esther started her career in the education system but quickly moved into Corporate America. The long commute, lack of family time and unpredictability as the wife of an active duty Marine Corps husband ultimately lead her to turn to online work.

Esther quickly found success and began training other military wives on how to do the same. She began to off-load some of her work while building up additional VA skills and starting helping entrepreneurs build online courses. She was able to move her family to Bali, close her agency and launch her virtual assistant program where she has helped over 2,000 women work from home as VA’s!

Esther is an advocate of breaking free from burnout. The money you make and the hours you work do not dictate happiness and success. (You shouldn’t have to work all day and night, every day in order to be successful!) The internet, online courses and the education industry has leveled the playing field across the world. Anyone can be successful as a virtual assistant, you just have to take the chance and put in the work.

“Every time you get uncomfortable and you can't breathe and you're like, ‘Oh no!’ It probably means you're about to level up. You just have to keep going. ” - Esther Inman

Iron Sharpens Iron’s author and Dave Ramsey’s friend, Aaron Walker, found success at an early age which provided him a plethora of freedom. In his late twenties, Aaron was a businessman, entrepreneur, world traveler, soon-to-be retired and married man with two beautiful daughters just enjoying life. It wasn’t until a freak accident occurred that forced him to reflect on his future. In this week’s podcast episode, Aaron walks us through his journey as a business coach turned mastermind creator and all the golden nuggets that go along with serving your life’s purpose.

Aaron’s superpower is encouragement. He feels called to teach others that you need to be honest, transparent and vulnerable in business and in life. Aaron’s book, View From The Top, shares the trials, tribulations as well as the successes he went through. In his mastermind group he helps men create that view while growing their careers and finding peace in their business, personal and spiritual lives.

If you’re looking to join a mastermind, Aaron says to look for a group whose core values are similar to yours. When you find one with similar values, make sure they offer different perspectives and diversity for you to explore and learn from. It’s detrimental that you surround yourself with non-bias, trusted advisors. In Aaron’s younger years, he was blinded by ego and pride and that almost cost him his business and relationships. He learned to have strong boundaries that are clearly identified and to enlist in others for accountability.

Aaron’s mom's voice rings in his ear to this day, “Can’t couldn’t do it and Could did it all.” Success is a mindset. You need confidence. You need support. Remember that you only have one life experience. Fear missing an opportunity more than you fear failure.

“Procrastination is our biggest enemy.” - Aaron Walker

40 years of entrepreneurship and marriage have given Aaron Walker a wealth of knowledge and experience. For more than two decades and counting, Aaron has taken classes from and has been coached personally by his friend, financial guru, Dave Ramsey. Spiritual mentors David Landrith and Bob Warren have impacted his spiritual life beyond measure. Two other disciplined mastermind groups, 48 Days led by friend Dan Miller and The Torch have played a role in his understanding of how to live a significant and successful life. Aaron’s Mastermind Iron Sharpens Iron is a group for men that are seeking support in their business life.

“Success is a mindset. People buy confidence.” - Aaron Walker

There are no rules when it comes to being a thought leader and/or influencer in Samantha Riley’s book! Samantha joins our Visionaries podcast from the beautiful Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia. Samantha has spent the past 9 years helping people turn their expertise into a thriving freedom business using 3 key principles of positioning, profile and leverage to help people to monetize their expertise, and to become known as the influential thought leader in their industry. Due to her extensive business background, she sees each individual in a unique and holistic way, and is able to help them grow a profitable business to create a life that they love.

“So there's no rule that says an influencer needs to have 10,000 followers or 100,000 followers. Have you ever shared a message and influenced someone's decision? If the answer is yes, then you're an influencer. If you're a mom and you've got your two year old to stop having a tantrum on the floor, you are an influencer of the highest regard.” - Samantha Riley

#thoughtleader #businessinfluencer

Samantha had me thinking about being unique. Really, anyone can be a thought leader. It comes down to uniqueness; Really tapping into the stories and experiences that you have and bringing all of those together (along with your unique skills and expertise) is what it’s all about. With my video commercial services I focus on my clients uniqueness. Ultimately that’s what attracts clients to their online videos/ads. Samantha said it best, “it's not just about putting content out for the sake of content. We need to be putting out content that we are absolutely living, breathing and doing in our own business, in our own life. Because people will see through the BS.”

In this episode we will discover how Samantha started coaching and creating unique opportunities for thought leaders. She walks us through her own journey in corporate, entrepreneurship and finding love for herself again all while creating passion and a fulfilling life. Samantha doesn’t play by the rules and neither should you!

““No one's going to tap you on the shoulder and say, ‘Hey, it's your time!’ You have to give yourself permission and just walk into it.” - Samantha Riley

Online Business Manager and digital nomad Agnes Bogardi joins us on this episode of Visionaries with Dallin Nead!

A Hungarian that moved to the UK a little more than seven years ago is proving that the nomadic laptop lifestyle is possible if you can cultivate your mindset.

Life wasn’t always easy for Agnes, before becoming a digital nomad and online business manager, she held various jobs, went back to school, learned English and began a career commuting FOUR HOURS a day. Her father passed away and Agnes could feel herself falling into a depressed state of mind.⁣

“When you are scrolling Facebook and you hate everyone who seems better and who is happier than you...that's where I was like, Okay, some mindset work needs to be done. ” - Agnes Bogardi⁣

#laptoplifestyle #nomadiclifestyle⁣

As an entrepreneur myself, I can totally relate to Agnes. There is this perception online that people seem happy, they have it all figured out and are making a ton of money. It can be overwhelming as a business owner. But you can break free of the tradition 9 to 5 job and pursue your dream job with the right mindset, tools and drive!

“At the end everything comes back to self esteem and how you feel within… It's a journey. It's an ongoing thing. And once we reach the next level right, we have new stuff to work on, it's a never ending story.” - Agnes Bogardi

You’ll have to excuse the background noise, I’m driving past a cemetery in Brooklyn, New York. (LOTS OF TRAFFIC, YES!) But the cemetery got me thinking about the legacy of my late Grandpa Nead. I want you to think about those in your life that inspire you as you listen to this episode. There’s power in recognizing those that have gone before us because someone like my Grandpa Nead wasn’t “special.” He is one of the most successful men in my eyes, but generally speaking, he doesn’t have any accomplishments professionally or a fancy business title.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

#visionaries #legends⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

Grandpa Nead was born into a family of musicians. In a way he was raised as an only child. His family was always trying to make ends meet. Grandpa Nead only had an 8th grade education when he started working. (The most memorable story I heard was when he worked as a tugboat captain.) He later had five children, lived on a farm, rebuilt from the ground up when his family’s house burned down… and wow, looking through photos and talking to people at his funeral you suddenly shave off any title attached to him as a person. He created posterity and left an example of living a simple yet exceptional life.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

“Don't get caught up in 'earthly success', pursue that, but do so hand in hand with being present and putting time into your family. Because that is what's going to be remembered by the people who love you the most.” - Dallin Nead⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

I want to know, who inspires you and why? Share it with me on Instagram or tag me in your stories.⁣⁣ ⁣

Ever have one of those wake in the night, cold sweats, freaks you out, “WAS THAT REAL” dream? Yeah, that is what went down this morning. I woke up at 4:00 AM from a terrible dream that my bank account was DRIED OUT! (Seriously, I had to check my banking app because it felt so real.)

Thankfully, it was all a dream. But this got my mind racing as to what financial freedom or financial bondage means to me (and all of us) as visionaries. I started journaling this all done and I’m going to share it with you!

#visionaries #askdallinnead

I helped out an old employer over the weekend. What I didn’t realize at the time of saying yes to working for them, was that I was actually saying no to other things and opportunities for my time.

“Call me selfish, but why can’t we be? If we are selfish, we can become more selfless when we are working towards a vision for the future in which we are serving others in the process...” - Dallin Nead

I need to become more aggressive in the agreements that I make in my life. When we focus on our vision, we can control so many other things in our lives - Our time, our money, our gifts and opportunities. So I invite you to think about yourself and your time when presented with an opportunity. Ask yourself:

  • Will this commitment lighten me up and create freedom for myself?
  • Are there other priorities in my life that are more important?
  • Will this ultimately impact my freedoms of time and money?

Depending on the answers, you'll know what's the best course of action. Take ownership of your life, your time, your money and overall your freedom as a visionary.

Licensed cosmetologist at the age of 18, salon owner at 23 and brick and mortar boutique owner a few years later, Sonja Thompkins proves that if you put the work in, good things can happen. As a military spouse and mother of one, Sonja found herself gradually moving into consulting and coaching brick and mortar boutique entrepreneurs and hasn’t looked back since. Sonja prides herself on her minimalist business approach which helps entrepreneurs build their dreams in an organized, (often low-cost) way.

“My dad said, ‘Listen… If you want it there is a way… It’s called working.’ I was 18 when I became self employed. So literally this has been my life. ” - Sonja Thompkins

I am impressed with Sonja’s “just do” attitude. Being a brick and mortar business owner is extremely difficult in a world of internet stores. In our interview, Sonja reveals how she got her entrepreneurial start, why she skips business plans and what it is like transforming into a consulting coach.

#visionaries

Being a visionary and defining what it means is different for everyone. Thinking back on my college days, I found myself miserable while pursuing a degree in IT. I questioned how my degree would add value to the world. How would this align with my future? Is this the life I want to create for myself? After graduating, I pursued what I was really passionate about...creativity. I love to tell stories. I started my own video production and marketing business. I wanted to help other dreamers tell their stories! Thus began Content Supply.

I want everyone who joins the visionary movement to imagine what it will look like in your life. Visionaries features entrepreneurs from the past and entrepreneurs working toward achieving their goals while making a difference right now.

“I want us to all gather around this identity and feel like that we can be empowered to build this future for ourselves the way that we see it.” - Dallin Nead

Everyone has heard the term "influencer". ... but there's a lot of controversy around it and how it's used. Some see it as egotistical, others see it as a great opportunity. Vulnerability is flat out hard. One of those things that are easier said than done and carries a lot more weight than really anything else.   To be vulnerability, to share, to publish requires often all our effort and it's vital to be honest because that's how we connect with our audience - that's how we build relationships. BUT at what point do we draw the line. OR is there even a line that needs to be drawn between what should be public for vulnerability's sake and what should remain private.   Do you ever think to yourself...if I share this, will it actually serve a purpose? Is it even relevant or am I just seeking empathy or pity points.   Where do we draw the line with being vulnerable?

My neighbor worked fulltime and wanted her precious golden retriever to have a friend and some play time. So every day of elementary school until we moved houses after I finished 5th grade I would get off the bus, grab a quick snack and then some time with sweet Noel. I still remember: my neighbor paid me $1 a day for this service, and I quickly remember feeling like I was the richest Kindergartener in the world. I was making $20 a month!

The feeling of providing a service that others genuinely need and the satisfaction that came from serving with excellence is a lesson I’ve never forgotten."
