I’ve seen so many people lately feel like they’re not adding up to enough.

In a world full of social media, where you see perfect business men and women bragging on their career, travel, their business, 10k months, being a parent, etc. its easy to feel like we’re not enough, or we lack certain skillsets, don’t have as many positive qualities as others.

I’ve found that ignoring an insecurity, or something I want to be better at only hinders me.  You’d be surprised at how when you admit you want to work on something, people will appear out of the woodworks to want to help you.

In this episode, I cover the do's and don'ts of leading with your flaws to help you grow toward your path to success!

There’s a quote, difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.  In life, we get to choose our path.  Often times I think the difficult path is glorified.  In our society we tend to praise people with tough upbringings and glorify the hard or negative stories.  On the flipside, we look down upon the “easy” path.  Which I don’t like, because sometimes things are just aligned, it feels easy and right.  And I do want to acknowledge that life can be both, and to me, that’s just life.

And while I do think the difficult path has mostly allowed me growth, and strength.  What I’m most thankful for is in the difficult times, I’m allowed the chance to really prove myself, show what I got, and handle things.  That where the promotions have come at work, where the rewards have come, better relationships, etc.

So, in this episode, let’s talk about the difficult path.  I want to dive into this way of thinking, and talk through the ways you can shine in the face of adversity and use it to your advantage.

In writing, an author calls a character who doesn’t have an arc through the story, one-dimensional.  Its defined as a character who is the same at the beginning as they are at the end.  Is that how you want to be described?  Isn’t the whole point of life to change and learn and grow, have ups and downs, and be different at the end than we were at the beginning?  It can feel so engrained in us that we have to define people as one thing.  We define people as their job, as them being a parent, or we define someone by their likes or dislikes.  When really, we’re all multi-dimensional and we should be recognized for it.  So if you feel like you’ve lost parts of yourself, or have become too one-dimensional, how do you take the step back into becoming the multi-dimensional person, with lots of likes and interests that you were meant to be?

As we approach the New Year, there is so much conversation around the goal you met in the past year and resolutions.

Identity is one of those things that’s formed from so many factors.  Where you grew up, who raised you, what you were exposed to, the experiences you’ve had, what others think of you, how you perceive yourself, how you actually are, the list could go on and on.  It is so easy to get caught up in doing something because others want us to, or because others expect it of us.  Then we wake up one day and aren’t really happy.  But what about the things that you used to do, and parts of yourself that were really great, that you’re not actively using anymore.  What about getting those back?  Only if you want to of course.  Let's talk through recognizing when you yearn to bring back a part of your past self is beneficial versus bringing back something because others expect it.

More than ever, I wanted to record an episode on this topic because so many people are working from home for the first time or continuing to work from home.

I decided to survey a number of friends who have either always worked from home, or just started in the pandemic.  Some are balancing remote work on their own or they are balancing it with a family and children.  In surveying others, I noticed several main themes that each individual touched on: routine, Mini-breaks, boundaries, and having a functional workspace. In this episode, I'll talk through the pros and cons of remote work, and talk through each theme to bring you tips on how to be a more productive worker.  Visit www.winggirlpr.com for more information and follow me on Instagram at @winggirlpr for all the latest info!

In this episode, I talk about weighing your personal values against that of the decision you are facing to decide whether to stay in that job or not, accept a new position, get into a new relationship, or continue a friendship, etc.  Taking time to detox from the toxic is important.  How do you feel WITHOUT that thing, that job, or that person and how do you feel WITH it?  Environments are created by people. Learning to manage personalities, knowing yourself, and finding mutual respect for others allows you to make a decision based on your own happiness and personal values.  Know when it is time to fight or flight.
