The gospel is for all people, and God uses all kinds of people to spread the word about His Son, Jesus.

The birth of King Jesus brings everlasting light into darkness and the promise of certain victory.

God gives us opportunity to share about Him as we live faithfully in the communities He has placed us. We serve our city well by giving our of prayers, our compassion, our generosity, and ourselves.

We must trust in the power and provision of Christ as He changes our perspective from “come and see” to “go and do.”
To worship God is to joyfully sacrifice our personal desires for God’s glory and the benefit of others. Paul urged believers to present their bodies to Christ as an act of worship by knowing and doing the will of God.
John 17:1-5 (ESV) When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his word. John 4:39-41
Sometimes we can feel so broken and sinful and judged that we don’t see how we can be of any use to anyone anymore. But Jesus speaks into our brokenness and pain and reminds us that he sees us, he knows us, he can not only save us but make us a fountain of life to others.
We are all given some area of trust or responsibility by God, even if it is just to show love to our neighbors. But our human tendency can be to take that trust for granted and forget that we must answer to God for how well we carry it out. In today’s parable, the religious leaders were confronted with their own failure to carry out the trust God had given them. In no uncertain terms, Jesus was asserting that the leaders of Israel (who turned against both Him and John the Baptist) had rejected God’s messengers and faced the prospect of divine judgment.

The reality of Christ’s victory and Satan’s defeat gives us resolve to give ourselves to the worship of God, fighting against the sin we are saved from and proclaiming His truth to the nations.
Are we ready for His coming? If He came back now what sin would He find you holding onto? Would He find you faithfully proclaiming the gospel or would HE find you silent?
We should not love the world. The things of the world will disappear, but whoever lives for God lives forever. This is a word for the church today. We live in a day where it’s difficult to tell where the world ends and the church begins.

Imagery from the Egyptian plagues and the trumpets of Joshua at the battle of Jericho serve to pronounce God’s judgment in the end times and victory for His people as they enter into His promise.
God will judge those who turn from Him and live for this world, and He will save those who trust in Him and live for another world.
There is only One who is worthy to give meaning, purpose and direction to our lives. We should look at everything in our lives through the lens of the glory of the Triune God.
Though God’s people will face suffering, God is always in control and the hope of resurrection remains.
There is a spiritual dimension to our struggle, which can only be addressed with spiritual resources.
A critical part of our relationship with God and with others is being able to recognize when we are wrong and seek forgiveness.
The king Antiochus IV Epiphanes, along with numerous other evil kings and powers, represented power and pure evil as a foreshadow of the antichrist. However, we can live in faith and without fear as we look to Jesus, the one true King.
God’s people grow in their faith and their ability to face the challenges of life when they practice a disciplined spiritual life, including a consistent and unhindered prayer life.
Because God takes sin seriously, He goes to great lengths to warn people about His judgment and offer the hope of redemption.

Believers are to recognize the final promise of salvation and hold fast to Jesus, even in weakness.
The appearance of a spiritual life can be a cover for the reality of spiritual deadness. Those living in hypocrisy should wake up, repent, and remember the message of grace that they originally received.
Jesus calls His followers to a standard of living that sets them apart from the rest of the world.
God calls us to put away easy comfort and accept Jesus’ promise that all afflictions in this life are momentary.

There is a great danger in becoming so consumed by doing good and important things that we forget the ultimate thing: to love God and others as ourselves.

God’s commands from Genesis 1 are still a path to his blessings today.

All people have sinned against God, but He has provided a way of restoration through His Son, Jesus.

A prophet is someone who walks in the presence of God, declares the Word of God, glimpses the glory of God and trusts in the promise of God.
We can have remarkable experiences of the glory of God, we can do amazing things in His name and still have parched souls.
