In this podcast Paul Martinez and James Erickson examine critical figures and events in church history, ranging from Martin Luther to King Saul James and Paul give a modern perspective and honest response to the twists and turns of these interesting stories.
We last left off with Elijah and family moving to Alton. The free state of Illinois appeared to be an ideal place to publish a religious newspaper that took a strong stance against slavery. Appearances can be decieving.

Elijah Lovejoy was a newspaper editor in who operated in St Louis, Missouri during the early 1800's. He was well known for his outspoked articles against slavery. In part one we look at his early life before his move to Alton, Illinois.
