Here you'll find the 'work' of Barry Barmcake... cover versions and parodies done on ukulele.
How bad are these tunes?
You'll have to play to find out! :D
Forget all this 'unplugged' stuff - this is me on my uke - 'plugged in' - heavier than King Kong's poo after him not having 'been' for a week!
Yes - this is my parody of the KISS track 'Lick It Up' but done on less strings, plus there's only one of me, so I reckon I've done a good job despite lacking talent or aptitude.
Any road - here am the lyrics!
"Pick It Up"
Your dog's just cacked and someone could tread in it
Don't be a tw... twonk, why don't you bag it and bin it
Don't be a nasty pastie, listen to me
It's not too hard, it's easy you see
You can buy nappy bags for about 30p
[Chorus:]
Pick it up, pick it up, just bag that sh*te now
Pick it up, pick it up, ooh yeah
Pick it up, pick it up, come on, come on
Pick it up, pick it up
There's nothing worse than standing in dog poo
It's hard to scrape it from the bottom of your shoes
It won't kill you so just pick it up -
Pick it up, pick it up
Don't believe 'em when they say 'muck for luck'
So please don't be a right Mucky Pup
[chorus]
How to ruin a perfectly good tune:
Take an excellent track by "Kiss" and swap some tasty guitar sounds with a ukulele.
Change the lyrics and witter on about pies instead.
Inflict it on the world so they may share the suffering.
Have a listen - if you're expecting it to be terrible - you won't be disappointed! :D

My favourite track of all time by IRON MAIDEN... so you'll not expect me to butcher it?
Hmm... don't get yer hopes up!
My ahem 'version' of a classic song by The Stranglers... you may want to strangle me when you hear it!
Take a brilliant tune by GHOST... then have some idiot with a ukulele ruin it - and here's the result!
Take a brilliant tune by the legendary BONEY M... then have some idiot with a ukulele ruin it - and here's the result!
Don't mistake this for the classic PARANOID by BLACK SABBATH... no, this is about me (Barry) being annoyed because my missus went to the chippy and didn't get me anything! Bugger!
Cliff Richard's classic about a lass who's 'a bit of a wrong 'un'...
Remember lads, stay away from loose drink and strong women!
A tale of oppression and 'being towd what fer t' do'... similar to ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL by PINK FLOYD - but involving a chippy tea! Serious stuff!!!
Two great tunes are PINBALL WIZARD by The Who, and UNCLE JOE'S MINTBALLS by Mike Harding (the latter being about a rather famous Wigan hardboiled sweet)... but what if some idiot were to combine the two... would it be amazing, or some horrible abomination, like what yon mon turned into in THE FLY?
I think we know the answer... here's the proof!
Two great tunes are RASPUTIN by Boney M, and UNCLE JOE'S MINTBALLS by Mike Harding (the latter being about a rather famous Wigan hardboiled sweet)... but what if some idiot were to combine the two... would it be amazing, or some horrible abomination, like what yon mon turned into in THE FLY?
I think we know the answer... here's the proof!
Two great tunes are WHEN I'M CLEANING WINDOWS by George Formby, and UNCLE JOE'S MINTBALLS by Mike Harding (the latter being about a rather famous Wigan hardboiled sweet)... but what if some idiot were to combine the two... would it be amazing, or some horrible abomination, like what yon mon turned into in THE FLY?
I think we know the answer... here's the proof!
A tale about trying to stop a Wigan Lad (i.e. me) from goowin' ter t' chippy... oh aye, like that'd EVER happen(!)
One of my all time favourite tunes by THE DAMNED - part one being an instrumental and part 2 not being one. Champion tune and I hope I do it justice! :)
Yep... it's me basically doing a 'Wiganised' version of one of Frank Sidebottom's 'REALLY FANTASTIC' songs... all respect to the late, great Mr. Chris Sievey who was 'the man behind the mask' re: Frank, and a major influence on my music and (ahem) 'comedy' - you know he is... he REALLY is! Thank you.
Ding-ding-ding a-ding-a-ding... DAH-DAAAW!
?
Listen to this and the above may just make some sense as I ruin a classic song by THE WHO.
"You know I'm born to lose" say the lyrics from this MOTORHEAD classic... and when you hear my version, that's this first word you'll be thinking of - loser! :D
One of my favourite songs by THE BEATLES - "Here Comes The Sun" as you've never heard it before - i.e. 'spoofed' and done badly with the assistance of a ukulele!
Yet another classic from THE BEATLES that's been mauled about, re-fettled and buggered up thanks to me and my trusty ukulele!
Just me and my ukulele destroying yet another classic song - this time, that ruddy DARK yet jolly little tale of murder by THE BEATLES
