A song I wrote in 2013 I think it was.

I wrote this many years ago, when I first got back to California. I believe I was at Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, walking along the sand, and into the water. It was glorious. Gregg and I did that every day when we lived out there. (It is also a very old recording, a Capella, but I do love this song). Enjoy.

The Beach

I sink my feet in the sands of the Beach
and open wide my arms to the waves within reach.
Then I run toward the water as he begs for my hand;
and we sink ourselves down to the Promised Land.

The waves turn slowly, they beckon to me.
They lull me to slumber, this mystical sea.
Its powers of persuasion seduce my mind;
The world opens up, the path to unwind.

I see in the water a glistening sigh.
I head to the center, never even asking why.
Her circle engulfs me, her vastness surrounds,
Though knowledge eludes me her beauty abounds.

She pulls at my heartstrings, he’s waving goodbye,
As I cleanse in the ocean I hear a sad sigh.
I bathe in the power, the waves lift me up,
I drink in the glory of the world’s loving cup.

I see now the promise was meant for us all,
I know in my Spirit we will never fall.
For tho we slip a little we won’t end in the breach,
She’ll raise up and carry us, this glorious beach.

This is an a Capella version which will later be recorded with music, thanx to the wonderful talent of Michael J. Peace. I wrote it.

Lyrics

Big Brother is alive and well,
and there's a place reserved for him in hell.
He broke our heart
back at the start
and now it's time to break out of the shell.

He brought us something called technology
made us forget about biology.
We must now text
and then we sext
and so goes on the new philosophy.

People wake up see the rainbow above,
there's a world out there that could be filled with love.
You'll never see it with your nose on your mouse.
So put it down a minute and get outta the house.

Whatever happened to a walk in the park?
We used to stay out til right before dark.
We might go bowl,
have a midnight stroll.
or watch the birdies fly just for a lark.

People wake up see the rainbow above,
there's a world out there that could be filled with love.
You'll never see it with your nose on your mouse.
So put it down a minute and get outta the house.
So put it down a minute and get outta the house.
I say
Put it down a minute and get outta the house.
