Our Christmas Series “The Heart of Christmas” has begun, with week #1 focusing on God’s promises for longing hearts....and there are many! This morning we’ll explore how God’s history of promises (made and kept) should strengthen our trust in Him to keep every promise that He has given us in His Word.
As we wrap up our study of Colossians this week, Paul challenges us about steadfast prayer and salty proclamation. He helps us understand how to redeem the time we are given by God each day for Kingdom purposes. It’s all about “Kingdom First” living!
In our third week in Colossians, we will study the Great Mystery of God, Christ in you the hope of Glory. We will see Paul’s struggle to help the Colossians become fully mature…. being encouraged in heart, knit together in love, and have the full understanding of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasure of Wisdom and Knowledge!
In our second week in Colossians, we will study the person and work of Christ! He is a glorious God that you will overwhelm you as you ponder these powerful truths about his unmatched attributes and merciful plan of salvation. Your heart will be full as you realize that the great Creator and Sustainer of this world is also our Heavenly Father, Savior, and friend!
This week we start a new teaching series entitled “The Supremacy of Christ: A study of Colossians”. We will discuss Colossians 1:1-14 which emphasizes the importance of the believers faith, hope and love. We will look closely at the practical ways those three graces are grown through our knowledge of God, our good works, our enduring of hardship, and the celebrating our identity and inheritance as a child of God.
This Sunday Sunday we studied “The Triumphal Entry” of Jesus into Jerusalem, found in Matt 21. These events set the stage for what Jesus must accomplish by going to the cross and conquering sin, death and the devil for us. You will marvel at the great humility and resolve of Christ in carrying out the will of His Father, and it will stir up your worship of our great King Jesus!!!
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, 20 because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Are grapes gathered from thorn-bushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ - Matthew 7:15-23

“Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
6 “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.
