Worship Challenge 21
When the Coronavirus pandemic hit, Bennett Smith - Senior Pastor of Legacy Church International in Mobile, Alabama, was instructed by God to release the book "God, I Don't Have Words" and call for 1,000,000 people to spend at least 20 minutes a day in worship for 21 straight days. The challenge purposes to help participants develop a strong, personal love language with God the Father and create a strong discipline of worship.

This is day 21! Congratulations on completing the worship challenge. Remember, this has been all about developing a deeper love language with God through worship. So, for today's worship prompting, let's practice! As you worship today, write a love letter to God. Get as personal as you want and from the bottom of your heart express how you feel about Him. Thanks for being a part of this worship challenge. Now, keep it going!
As you worship today, spend some time thinking about the cross and the sacrifice that Jesus made for you. Allow thankfulness to arise as you remember what He did for you. He died a horrifying death in order to save us... and He did it all while we were yet sinners. It was the greatest demonstration of love the world has ever known. Think about what He did for you as you worship today.
Psalm 32:7 says that God is our hiding place. In His presence we find everything we need. However, if we are not careful we can make worship about ourselves. When we do that we miss out on what God has for us in the deeper places of His presence. Today's worship prompting is an invitation to go to a deeper level in His presence by focusing fully on Him as we worship.
Call upon the name of the Lord today. Jesus is the name that is above every other name. Focus on the reality of His name, and incorporate some of the names of God into your time of worship today.
In Psalm 103, David says, "Bless the Lord oh my soul, and ALL that is within me bless His holy name." So often, we choose to worship or not worship God based solely on how we feel. We think that we cannot approach God when we have a bad attitude, feel depressed, or something else. God is worthy of praise no matter what! David didn't say that only the good things we within him bless the Lord. He said, ALL things! Don't hold anything back from God today. Wherever you are, however you feel, He is worthy of all your praise today!
There is something so intimate about surrender. Today's worship prompting focuses on a woman in the Bible who laid down something of tremendous value as an act of worship. It's an invitation for all of us to surrender ourselves to the Lord, declaring that He is absolutely worthy.
Hebrews 4:16 says, "Let us, therefore, come boldly before the throne of grace, where we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." You have access to stand boldly before the throne today. That isn't just for asking, but for worship as well. Stand before God and boldly worship today.
The Bible says that all creation praises the Lord. Everything created (included you) is designed to worship the Creator. Today's worship focus is about seeing the beauty of the Lord through His creation. When you "stop and smell the roses", taking time to recognize the beauty of His holiness, you cannot help but declare how great and awesome He is. If you can, get outside and see His beauty in creation today, and then begin to worship Him. ALL creation praises His holy name!
Psalm 32:7 says, "You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance." As you worship today recognize that the place of worship is the secret place or your hiding place in God. There is no safer place you can be. As you worship, God rejoices over you and sings over you songs of deliverance. Direct all of your attention and affection toward God today.
In Psalm 136:1, David wrote, "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever." As you worship today, remember His goodness and faithfulness. He has been so merciful to us throughout our lives. We would not be here, if not for His mercy. Give Him your praise today as you remember how good and merciful He has been.
In Psalm 100:4 David writes, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise." Today's worship focus is on entering His courts with praise. This Hebrew word for praise refers to a spiritual song or a spontaneous song. It is a song that has never been previously written but comes from the overflow of your heart. As you spend time in worship today, go deeper with God by singing a new song. It's not about what it sounds like. It is a matter of the heart. What is in your heart about God today? What are you thankful for? What aspect of His nature has you amazed today? Now, sing a new song to the Lord!
Psalm 59:17 says, "To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; For God is my defense, My God of mercy." As you worship today, recognize that your source of strength is God. In the midst of troubling circumstances, complaining is never the answer. Fear is never the answer. The answer is to worship. You strengthen yourself in the Lord as you choose to remember who He is and give Him praise.
Psalm 34:1 says, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will continually be in my mouth." Recognize the Lord today in everything that you do. No matter where you are or how you feel, bless Hin during this time of worship. He is completely worthy of our praise.
Psalm 103:1 says, "Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name." To bless in this verse means to declare. Today's worship prompting is about declaring the name of the Lord. For example, one of His names is Jehovah Jireh, meaning that He has looked ahead and has already provided. That's who He is, and you can declare the reality of His name and who is over whatever circumstances you may be facing today. He has already looked ahead and has already provided. Declare His name today!
As you worship the Lord today, just become aware of the fact that your Heavenly Father is also rejoicing over you. He sings over you. He quiets you with His love. As you spend your time focusing on God in worship, directing your love and affection toward Him, He is so good that He focuses on YOU and directs His love and affection toward you.
Psalm 100:4a says, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise." Today's worship prompting is about thanksgiving. Wherever you are right now just begin to tell God what you are thankful for (not just spiritual things, but natural things, little things, big things, all kinds of things!) Worship God as you become thankful for what He's done in your life.
Your worship is a weapon! When you are up against your greatest battle, the answer is worship. Whatever you are going through today, just begin to worship God. He fights your battles for you as you worship Him. Set your mind, your heart, and your focus on Him today.
In Psalm 22:3, David writes that God inhabits the praises of Israel, or the praises of His people. God is at home in your praise! As you worship today, offer yourself to the Lord and remember to make it all about Him.
In Psalm 34:3, David writes, "Oh magnify the Lord with me, let us exalt His name together." You magnify the Lord by exalting His name, recognizing who He is and giving Him praise. For today's worship prompting, spend a few moments calling to mind some of the awesome attributes of God's character and allow it to overflow into declarations of worship.
Psalm 103:1-2 - Remember something specific that God did for you. Remember that time He rescued you from danger. He pulled you out of harm's way. He saw you through that season when you were sure you were going under. He saved you. He died for you. There are so many things to be thankful for. Remember what God has done and allow thankfulness to arise out of you as you worship Him today.
